Are hackers accessing phone through words with friends
An unsolicited user appeared in my list of words with friends games. Sensing a spammer, I avoided clicking on it. During the several days it was there, it appeared as though my usual opponents weren't making any moves. After the unsolicited user resigned the game, the moves my regular opponents had made 2 to 3 days before appeared.
Apps like that are incredibly buggy...
But remember the app connects to a server, the game is not piped straight onto your phone.

Since it has happened previously, it is likely someone you know or who has access to your systems, or has access to recovery information with that game vendor. I seem to recall that vendor being called out for account security issues in the past, but can't say for sure.On the other hand, the symptoms you describe do not necessarily mean you have been "hacked", could be just that something is amiss with the app.
You may wish to reach to the app vendor and see what sort of support it offers. -

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I cannot access my words with friends on my ipad. For a brief second a screen will come saying "updating this will take a few minutes" . It has been 15 hours! What can I do?
That means the person you are playing doesn't have the app on their phone!! And they can only play on the PC?
How about asking the person your playing if they have the app or not.
If you don't want help here, you can more than ask the WWF developer why your having trouble.

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

When I upgraded my iPhone 4s to IOS7, I lost all my app icons. Where did they go? Interestingly they are still listed in notifications and I could play words with friends when I got a message on the home screen that it was my turn (but still no icon)

I had previously downloaded Words with Friends (app was .99 cents). It has suddenly disappeared from my phone. Went back to the App Store to download it again, but it says it is installed. I can't find it? Any sugestions?

When I open Firefox and go to "Words with Friends" in the Tab Bar a number in parenthesis is always there.....any number from 3 to 8, ie: (8). I have shut down the computer and restarted it thinking it will go away and sometimes the number will be different....but some number always remains.
Such an addition is likely to be added by one of the extensions.

Just purchased a Nokia Lumia 800 and have logged onto facebook and it appears to be a little different to how it appears on my pc I find it difficult to access Words With Friends from this site and when I do I cannot view the bottom half of the screen and I cannot reduce or expand the image of the scrabble board either - any help appreciated

The Facebook application for most mobile phones has been optimised so the basic functions are made easier to use on mobile devices. This may not include add ons to the facebook system.
Have you tried opening this with Facebook through the browser?

Why won't Words With Friends open in Firefox but works fine with IE?
The game "Words with Friends" worked fine until firefox update and Words with Friends new version. Now it will not open. Tried all the support suggestions to no avail. Then I tried it through IE and it works fine.

Just the game or the phone as a whole? My guess is you have a hardware failure but there are a few things you can try if it's software such as resetting your phone or doing a restore. To reset press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons for about 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo reappears. To restore do a backup before proceeding:
