I have an HP Officejet 4630 Printer and I was wondering if it would be compatible with an HP Chromebook? I am thinking of buying one and I wanted to know the jist.
Also did you guys know that you can’t add spaces in this text box? LOL you have to type your post in Microsoft Word and paste it in the box. Just fyi. Ok thank you.  Hope to hear something soon cause I need a new laptop.

Yes, you can use these two devices provided the printer is network capable..
Wish you luck,

  • Are animated ellipses in OAM files compatible with DPS?

I tried creating a basic animation with an ellipses flying into the stage. but for some reason the ellipses isn't displaying on Adobe Content Viewer.
I've done the same thing with a rectangle, and the animation works fine.  Are animated ellipses in OAM files compatible with DPS?

Ellipses animations on the Desktop Adobe Content Viewer are coming out as squares. Preview looks fine on the device.

  • "no network setting are available" on an HP Officejet Pro 8500

Been scouring the Internet and forums to see if I can get some info about the networking on the Officejet 8500 but haven't found anything related to the wired network option of the printer. I have the basic one with the wired network - the A909 version.
The printer prints and is accessible through the USB but not through the network.
    Problem:
After a brown out at our house the printer quit printing via the Network. I thought it was a simple re-setup the static address I had assigned but it didn't work. I can successfully print via USB but bought the printer because I didn't have to have a computer turned on all the time to print.
The network is not configurable (static or DHCP).I can print the HP Network Configuration Page but I get the following
    Network Status                               Offline
    Active Connection Type                 None
URL for Embedded Web Server http:/0.0.0.0
    802.3 Wired
    Hardware Address (MAC)            00265571ad12
So the printer is recognizing the network interface but it is unconfigurable.
While connected with the USB cable in the HP Solution Center software when I click on Other Settings, Network Settings I get the message:
"This product has not been configured for networking.
    No network settings are available."
Is there a way to reset/reseat/troubleshoot the card or is it fried and no longer usable?

First, reset the power supply.  Unplug it from both the wall and the printer for 5 minutes, plug back in.
When you turn on the printer, let's reset it.  Hold the # and 6 keys while and for a few seconds after turning the printer back on.

  • Cyan and yellow are not printing on HP officejet pro 8500 all-in-one printer A909

I have an Officejet Pro All-in-One 8500 A909a printer, using OS X operating system.  Cyan and yellow are not printing. I've ran the Print Quality Diagnostics Page and they do not show up there or on the align page. My ink levels are good.
Can you help me find and fix the problem?
    Thanks

    Hi DavidM2,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having issues with the Cyan and the Yellow ink cartridges as well.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
If you are still having issues then try to replace the cartridges.
Let me know how you make out and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Are earphones with built-in minc compatible with EliteBook 8440p?

I have an EliteBook 8440p.  I need to know if earphones with mic included are compatible with this laptop.
Currently, I am trying to use one with 3.5mm jack on the earphones or microphone connector.  When connected to the earphones plug, the earphones work but the mic does not.
The earphones w/mic work fine on my iPhone so I am trying to figure out if this is a configuration issue (driver, etc.) or simply that the hardware does not support earphones w/mic.
Is anyone using earphones w/mic on their EliteBook 8440p?
    Thanks,

    Hello izwebusr,

  • Are there any OS X (Tiger) compatible voice recorders?

I am looking for a voice recorder to speak into - for writing a book. Olympus' website offers a few, compatible with OS X to 10.3.
Does anyone know of any voice recorders compatible with the latest Mac OS X (10.4.5)?
    Thank you.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Hi, fei.
I found your question interesting, so I did some research. I eventually wound up speaking to a technical support person who works for Olympus. Normally, questions like this should be addressed directly with the vendor.
The Olympus digital voice recorders ship with an application called DSS Player which is used to access, download, and convert files from the recorder to your Mac.
The short answer is that if you install the DSS Player application that comes with their digital voice recorders, and then install the "DSS Player for Mac (OS X) V6 Update to V6.0.4" — which can be found using their Support - Downloads Web page — then the DSS Player software will work with Tiger.
They are planning to update their Web site to reflect this as well as provide a FAQ. The basic instructions are the following:
    • If your Olympus digital voice recorder comes with DSS Player V6, you simply install "DSS Player for Mac (OS X) V6 Update to V6.0.4" using the instructions in the Read Me file.
    • If your Olympus digital voice recored comes with DSS Player versiion 1.xx, you first install the "DSS Player for Mac (OS X) Upgrade from version 1.xx to V6" using the instructions in the Read Me file, then install "DSS Player for Mac (OS X) V6 Update to V6.0.4," again following the instructions in its Read Me file.
StuffIt Expander is required to unpack these downloads. Tiger, unlike prior versions of Mac OS X, does not include Stuffit Expander: see "Mac OS X 10.4: Where is StuffIt Expander?" If you don't have StuffIt Expander, a free download of such for Mac OS X 10.4 can be found here.
To go from speech-to-text, which I presume is your main use as an author, one would also need to install software for speech-to-text conversion. According to the documentation I've read on DSS Player, the software will work with IBM ViaVoice. Another option is to use iListen™ from MacSpeech. According to this old technical note re: iListen, you'd use DSS Player to convert the .dss audio file to an .aiff file for use with iListen.
Given the choice of ViaVoice or iListen, I'd go with iListen: it's compatible with Tiger and is a supported product. Development on the ViaVoice product may have ceased since Nuance acquired the distribution rights. IBM sold the worldwide distribution rights for its ViaVoice product to Nuance (nee ScanSoft) in April 2003. While ViaVoice works under Tiger, Nuance notes some issues in this support document on their site.
Therefore, iListen would be my choice for speech-to-text.
    Good luck!

  • Are 2009/2011 iMac power supply compatible with mid2010 iMac?

I have a mid-2010 that doesn't turn on. None of the LEDs turn on and I've been troubleshooting for a couple weeks with no luck. I want to buy a power supply for the iMac but I'm not sure if others are compatible. I can't find one specifically for the 2010 one.
    Information:
    Mid-2010 21.5" iMac
    EMC 2389
    About 2.5-3 years old
    It doesn't turn on
None of the diagnostic LEDs are lit
Makes a small zzz noise every couple seconds when plugged in
    Suspected power supply failure

    Switching won't harm your machine.

  • Mid-2010 Mac Mini, dead optical drive: Are any slim Firewire DVD burners compatible?

The optical drive on my Mac Mini seems to have died prematurely, as the OEM drives are known to do. Estimated cost of replacing the internal component: $170. And it would be the exact same model Apple optical drive, not a more robust one.
Now very reluctantly thinking of adding yet another peripheral. USB ports are pretty well filled but I don't use the Firewire port for anything.
Trouble is, since Apple discontinued Firewire, the manufacturers of Mac-compatible optical drives aren't making Firewire models any more.
There are a few recent Firewire DVD burners from PC peripheral manufacturers, such as Acer, Aopen, Dell, Pioneer, Sony (Amazon reviews say it's restricted to burning Sony media) in a small "slim" form factor.
Anyone have information about their compatibility with Firewire 800 on mid-2010 Mac mini, Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite?

There are some steps involved which may translate to tedium,
as noted in the repair guide for the Mid 2010 Mini from iFixit.
    •Mac Mini - Mid 2010 Repair Guide - iFixit:
    https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Mac_Mini_Mid_2010
At about Step 25, of an overall rated Difficult process, you can
see the Optical Drive, and likely be at a point to install replace-
ment, then reverse the process; paying heed to advice given.

    https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac+mini+Model+A1347+Optical+Drive+Replacement/3167
At least you can get into this computer. Be sure to have a spare
optical drive cable and other possible items that may get broken
in the process. Oh there also is a PRAM battery in this computer
that may or may not need replacement while it is open...
If at one point, if several parts were to be replaced at one time, a
visit to a service technician becomes very cost effective. Find one
that will install the parts you may get from third-party sources. If
you know someone at a college computer lab, they may be able
to perform the swap, test their work, and be done, in short order.
Or, chose to use an external inexpensive 'superdrive' equivalent.
I'd heard the LG brand was among some that work, and can also
be used to boot the computer from System DVD or utility discs...
It is a USB drive, can burn DVD/CD media, and is not costly.
The ability to swap out the defective optical drive, and replace it
with an SSD or second storage drive, may be a way to go; but
it also would be at least as tedious as optical drive replacement.
This may add value to the device, in a resale situation later.
That would use the 'drive doubler' idea referred to at macsales.
In the above main guide, is a primer on how to swap out the optical
drive and replace it with a second hard disk drive or solid state drive.
Similar to what the OWC site says, but they have a good kit, too.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Are Apple TV and recording devices compatible

I am considering switching from cable to Apple TV.  However, I would like to know if Apple TV and recording devices are compatible.

AppleTVs don't get authorised as such in the way you would an iTunes library on a computer.
Apple introduced this email system about 18 months ago from memory, to alert you the first time someone makes a new purchase with your credentials on an iOS device/computer you've never used before.
They seem like an annoyance but probably not a bad thing in reality.
So long as it coincides with such an event the email is likely to be genuine.

  • Which graphics cards are Mac Pro 1,1 (2006) compatible?

I suspect my graphics card is bad (though I could be wrong).  At boot I hear the Apple sound but get no visuals whatsoever.  No grey or blue or any other kind of screen.  I tried resetting PRAM, holding shift, holding option, nothing works.  The computer is stuck at the phase where the graphics card fan is on overdrive and it does not ever stop spinning.  The card is an ATI Radeon that came stock with the Mac.
I found this article which shows which cards are compatible.
MY QUESTION: Are these the ONLY graphics cards my Mac Pro will support?  Or can I install any PCI-E graphics card?

  • What changes are required if any when using compatible ink

    Hi All,
I am new here so please be gentle.
I use Photoshop frequently to work on photographs that I print for others.  Recently I changed the ink I use from the genuine type to the compatible type of ink cartridges.  I now purchase ink cartridges from a company called Dealo at http://dealo.com.au
The problem is that there is a slight difference between the color balance of printed photos between the genuine and the ones from Dealo.  Unless you place the two side by side for comparison you probably wouldn't notice but here is my dilemma.  Most of the clients I produce photos for are repeat clients, which means they can do side by side comparisons.
So the question I ask is this.  Is there any calibration option in Photoshop that would allow me to automatically fix the slight difference?  Or will I need to manually correct by trial and error until I find a solution?
If anyone can help me I would be grateful as this is about to become a real headache for me.
    Thanks in advance.

I would also be concerned with color-fastness of off-brand inks. Are they fade resistant over time like many name-brand inks are now? What archival longevity specs does Dealo provide with the paper you are using? Does Dealo provide profiles for thier product specific to your printer and the paper you are using. What about metameric issues? - where certain colors can visually change depending on the spectra of the  light source they are viewed under.
I agree name brand inks are astronomically overpriced. But for work I sell to clients, there are many important considerations besides the cost of the ink.
