Are HR & NHR RTA's necessary for RAR 5.3 to ECC6?

HI all,
We have deployed AC 5.3 only RAR component .We have not applied the latest support patches RTAs(HR & NHR) to the backend system and the SP level of the backend system is low.
In this scenario, is there any way where can we pull the data from backend system for SU24-Authorization and static text data to upload into GRC Component. This requires to run the following programs i.e /VIRSA/ZCC_DOWNLOAD_DESC & /VIRSA/ZCC_DOWNLOAD_SAPOBJ. Since the RTA's are not installed, the above programs can't be run in our backend system.
We are connecting the backend system through a gateway server as currenlty our management doesnot want to use the tool on real time basis.
We would like to know the following :
a) Does the above data necessary to upload into GRC? What impact will it have if it is not uploaded?
b) Does ECC6 requires compulsorily HR RTAs or only NHR RTA's will do? What will be the impact if the RTA's are not applied
Thanks and Best Regards,
Ambarish

Hi Ambarish,
You question -
a) Does the above data necessary to upload into GRC? What impact will it have if it is not uploaded?
b) Does ECC6 requires compulsorily HR RTAs or only NHR RTA's will do? What will be the impact if the RTA's are not applied
Yes, both the files need to be uploaded to get SAP Authorization Objects and Texts into GRC Server. Whithout it GRC server will not be able to recognize SAP provided authorizations.
Any backend system including ECC 6.0 requires RTA to get backend data into GRC server. You install NH if you dont have HR implemented into your system. But if you have HR then you have to install HR also to get HR specific authorization data into GRC server.
In any case RTA is a must to pull and sync data from backend to GRC.
Hope it helps.

Sabita

But the newest Mac notebooks do not have a firewire port.
So he may need a TB to FW adapter, $29, a FW 400 or 800 cable, $??, and then a FW 400 to 800 cable/port adapter (If the old Mac only has a FW 400 port), $??.
It is unknown if the old Mac has a FW 400 or 800 port.

  • What preinstalled programs are necessary for S10-3T?

Hi, I recently purchased a S10-3T and upgraded from Win 7 Starter to Win 7 Premium.
I'm wondering what programs are actually vital to keep, and what is just bloatware?
I know that Win 7 Premium has touchscreen integration, so is there Lenovo software I can now uninstall bc it does a similar thing?
For ex. I see programs like Cando Touch and Lenovo Natural Touch.. can these be uninstalled?
Also Lenovo software like: FirstBOot, Idea Central, Idea Notes, ReadyComm 5, Screen Rotation...
Are any of these programs vital for proper functioning? I'm just not sure what is needed to keep and what I can get rid of since I ihave upgraded to Win7 Premium.
Also Veritouch.. is there a point to keep it?
    Thanks in advance.. much appreciated

you can uninstall bloatware like firstboot, idea central, readycomm 5, ms office trial, veriface, veritouch. Natural touch can be deleted on the c: drive folder. Lenovo autorotate is for the screen rotation only in tablet mode.
Clean install always the best option.

  • Is model view(BD64) necessary for EDI

is model view created using BD64 necessary for a EDI transactions? I have created a logical system, a RFC destination and a EDI File Port.
After all this i am trying to push a material master data using BD10 to the file port. When i do that the system gives me a message saying that master idoc created but it does not create a communication idoc. Only if i have a Model view set up in BD64 it creates a communication idoc. So my question is do we need a model view for EDI configuration?
    ~Suresh

    Hi,
BD64 is required for master data distribution..
If you are having a interface that sends IDOCs to the customer or receive IDOCs from the vendor..You don't require BD64 setup..
    Thanks,

I am running windows XP profession X64 edition and it is necessary for me to install and use Adobe reader 9.  Please advise procedure(s)

If you're NEVER going to EVER open a PDF, then no, it wouldn't be necessary. But you're going to be in an extremely rare set of circumstances if that's going to be the case.
Otherwise, you'll need it, and Reader 11 works with XP Pro.

  • Change Documents for RAR

We use RAR 5.3 SP 14 and were wondering if there were any tables or reports that can show the change history upon mitigation added to a user.  We can see the date that the mitigation was assigned to a user, but we can't seem to find the date when a mitigation was removed from a user.
For those that are questioning, we do use CUP for mitigations too, but we are mainly trying to find the change documents for RAR.
    Thank you in advance.

    SAP Answered
"In 5.3, there is no change log for mitigation control assignment. The only option in 5.3 is if you configure the Workflow option for Mitigation, then a request would have been routed through CUP for
this change and then you could search in CUP for the history of the change. Specifically, under RAR in Configuration - Workflow - Mitigation, if this parameter is set to YES, anytime you would
add, remove or change a mitigation for a user, a workflow item would be sent through to CUP for approval before the change is actually posted.
However, if you don't have this configured, there is no change log of mitigation changes.
There is no change log table in RAR to track mitigation changes, sorry. The change log information is not retained in RAR for changes to mitigations. The only "change log" information in RAR is for
Configuration and rules. This data is stored in table VIRSA_CC_CDHDR and VIRSA_CC_CDPOS. Again, this is only for changes to configuration and changes to rules. This is the only data that RAR tracks
    changes for.
Changes to mitigations are NOT stored anywhere in RAR. Please let me know if there is any concern."

  • Business area as a req..field for vat input tax g/l

in fs00 . we  set the additional account assignment for field like suppress req. entry, opt. entry..i want to know for which general ledger it will be required...?
actually in our system for (vat input tax ) gl  business area it is not mandatory field ...or when i check the line items for this general ledger business area wise ...it displaying for all  business area...
so tell me if i set it as req. field, then will it be right or not?
    Thanks & Regards
    Rekha Sharma

    Hi,
To my understanding taxes are always posted without a business area. System makes transfer postings from tax account to business areas for the income and expense account. A balance sheet adjustment is carried out according to business area if 'Business Area Balance sheets' has been activated in company code global parameters(OBY6).
When you post a document the system determines this document and notes for the adjustment. Documents noted during posting are calculated for the adjustment. The system calculates the adjustment according to the account assignments. Execute F.5D(programSAPF180A) reads the marked documents, calculates the necessary adjustment postings, and updates these in its own database tables. After that execute F.5E(program SAP F180) reads the adjustment posting tables and on this basis posts the accounting documents required.
For example you posted on customer invoice:
    Customer A/c  Dr 1150(Accts Receivables)
    Revenue A/c1 Cr         600 (BA-1)
    Revenue A/c2 Cr         400 (BA-2)
    Tax A/c Cr                   150
During the Balance Sheet Adjustment the system divides this tax entry by business area wise
    Tax A/c 90(BA-1)
    Tax A/c 60(BA-2)
You cannot run balance sheet adjustment without activating the 'Business Area Balance Sheets' at company code global parameters.
Hope it will clear your query.

  • Is Exception handler necessary for every stored subprogram

    Hi All,
I knwo exception handler is very important. But is it necessary for every stored procedure or function?
    For example,
    procedure test(p_index_code IN varchar2(10)
    p_changed_code OUT varchar2(15))
    as
    begin
    IF p_index_code = 'A' then
    p_changed_code := 'A'|| p_index_code;
    elsif p_index_code = 'B' then
    p_changed_code := 'B'|| p_index_code;
    else
    p_changed_code := p_index_code;
    end if;
    end;
This kind of simple procedures, do I have to add the 'exection when others than raise_application_error(-20001,'error in this SP')'?
I can't see obvious drawbacks without the exception handler in this CASE.
    Best regards,
    Leon

I knwo exception handler is very important. But is it necessary for every stored procedure or function? It is important to know WHY an exception handler is needed. There are couple of basic reasons why you want to use an exception handler.
The exception is not an error.
The exception raised is a technical error, but may not be a business or processing error. The typical example is the NO_DATA_FOUND exception. The business logic may say "+when there is no fixed discounts found, apply a 5% dis-count+". So not finding (dis-count) row data in such a case is not an exception. What does you exception handler do? It fixes the exception and there is not an exception anymore. In other words, the caller that called your code will never know that there was an exception.
    Making the exception meaningful
An exception, like NO_DATA_FOUND, is not very meaningful. What is meaningful is NO_INVOICE_FOUND or NO_CUSTOMER_FOUND. Thus your exception handler can catch a generic exception and make it more meaningful by returning a custom application exception instead.
    Action stations
Some exceptions will require you to clean up and fix what you can - kind of like action stations when a ship takes a hit. But as you cannot fix the exception, the exception must be passed to the caller so that it too can decide how to re-act to that exception. For example, you may have an open ref cursor or open UTL_FILE handle that needs to be closed when your code terminates. If not, your code will leak resources. So you need to trap exceptions that can occur, clean up, and then re-raise the exception (this is called a resource protection code block in other languages). You may have done a partial transaction - and the exception handler may need to roll back the changes your code made. The bottom line here is that you must re-raise the exception after you have done your "+action stations+" bit. You did not fix the exception. You did not make it more meaningful. In that case you must pass it back to the caller so that it can decide what it needs to do about that exception.
Using an exception for any other reason - that would likely be the wrong thing to do most of the time.

  • EHP4 necessary for Adobe Interactive Forms?

    Hi,
I was told that EHP4 ( Enhancement Pack 4) is necessary for the "Submit" functionality to work with Adobe interactive form. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi, I have awarded the points and will award for this new question, not sure if I should open a new topic but my question is related.
Refer to SAP Note 1100846 - Purchase document PDF forms are not to be used.
Based on the note, it seems like there is a need to upgrade to EHP4 for purchase document PDF forms to work. Any comments or workaround?

  • How to get objects necessary for transporting Business Content?

    Hi Experts,
    Small ques for u:
I have installed 0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13 for Asset Accounting in Dev system. Already the previous content 0FIAA_C04 was installed and transported to Quality system.
Now I want to transport new content (0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13) to Quality. But I guess since already some infoobjects were transported to quality, transport connection wud nt show me all necesary objects.
<b>So how to get a list of all objects necessary</b> so that my req does nt fail while moving to production from quality.(I think req might not fail while goin from Dev ->quality).
    Thanks in advance!!
    Sorabh

    Hi Srini,
I have already applied "Before setting". But the problem is I dont want to transport objects which are not relevant to me, but only those which are necessary for content described in previous mail.
If we check the link provide by you " For activating an InfoSource, InfoObjects may also be necessary which are not contained in the InfoCube and have therefore not yet been collected. However, for these additional objects, the objects that come before them in the data flow are not collected.
"  I am worried by about these. Some objects will be missing and some are in addition which are not all required, and we shud nt transport them. How to be sure tht transport will not fail and it is consistent as well?
    Thanks for replying!!

  • 5D Mark iii AF system - necessary for hobbyist photographer?

I take pictures of just about everything, including running/playing children. My biggest complaint about my current camera (a high-end point-and-shoot. Definitely time to upgrade!) is that it doesn't focus well on moving subjects, nor does it focus well in low-light conditions (or do anything in low-light conditions, really). I would like to purchase the 6D, but if it's going to give me trouble every time I try to focus on moving people, then it's not worth 2000 dollars. The 5D Mark iii apparently has amazing AF but, honestly, it almost seems overwhelming to me. My choices are a crippled AF or a complicated AF, and I'm not sure what to do. As a hobbyist photographer who often shoots moving subjects, will the 6D be adequate? Or should I buy the 5D Mark iii and just plan on spending a good amount of time with the instruction manual?

Wow, thanks for your advice, everyone! And you're right; money doesn't buy skill so I shouldn't waste an extra thousand as an attempt to make up for my weaknesses.
My camera is essentially attached to my hip; I take it everywhere and shoot anything that interests me at the time. However, I can pinpoint two conditions in which I spend the most time shooting. I photograph a LOT of events, maybe half of which are indoors with varying lighting conditions. I also enjoy taking pictures at night in the city - people and stationary objects/settings. I currently use manual focus for night and low-light indoor conditions (which is frustratingly difficult when people are moving), and I use a tripod and long exposures for most of my night pictures (which is limiting). Even then, the pictures rarely turn out as sharp and vivid as I would like. The thought of a camera that can produce better quality images in the dark or low-light AND that can AUTO focus in said conditions sounds marvelous, and that's the reason I'm aiming for full frame. It sounds like some of the crop sensor cameras may be better than the 6D for all the events I photograph, given their AF capabilities, but I'm okay with sacrificing some AF (within reason) and some cash for quality night and low-light shots. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that full frame is necessary for all this though? I just read reviews and saw sample images and was impressed with the pictures coming out of full frame cameras in low-light and night conditions. I don't have hands-on experience with crop sensor cameras though, so I may be underestimating them. Please correct me if I am wrong in any of my assumptions!
Anyway, given my desire for nice low-light/night performance and AF performance with moving subjects at events, the 5D Mark iii is tempting. However, from what I've read and from what you all have told me, it sounds like the 6D will be a good fit for me while the 5D Mark iii is probably excessive. You asked about my budget. I have saved up 6,000, which is a lot, but perhaps not so much when considering that I currently own no photo equipment other than my point-and-shoot and my flimsy tripod, haha.
