Are LCAPPS patches cummulative or sequential?

Hi,
I am wondering if the LCAPPS patches are cummulative or standalone/sequential.
For example:
If I am applying SCM support packs 14, 15, 16; do I need to apply LCAPP/Kernel 14, 15, 16; or can I apply SCM support packs 14, 15, 16, etc and then LCAPPSKernel 16 which will also apply 14 and 15?

Please review the SAP Note No. 824489.
-> If you need to update the LCAPPS component < in ABAP > on SCM system =>
    we released the Support Packages that are sequentially numbered for the ABAP
    component LCAPPS & need to be applied sequentially. See, for example, SAP note :: 877323     Support Packages for LCAPPS 2005_700
-> When you will update the SCM SPs stack you also need to update the LCA/liveCache
     on your system. Please review the "Matrix of released LCA builds for SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0" at SAP link service.sap.com/liveCache -> Release-Dependent -> SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0
   < What is the version of your system? SCM 5.0? >
   You could go & update the LCA/liveCache to the latest releases, all fixes and corrections included in the latest LCA/liveCache version release. If there are any restrictions for the LCA/liveCache update you will see it in the corresponding LCA build SAP note & "Matrix of released LCA builds for SAP LC/LCAPPS < version of your system>".

when i try to apply 10.2.0.3 patch on 10.2.0.1 in linux x86 I am getting into this error.

The original ora inventory is lost and cannot be recovered.
So is there any way I can upgrade the database software.

No, it's not, as some patches require no update of the underlying databases. So the databases may not even know what patches are installed.
That said, you can always tell what patchset you are running (9.2.0.1, 9.2.0.4, 10.2.0.2) from v$instance.

no patches available. I continually have problems with hackers and have turned in 2 reports to the IC3 online division of the F.B.I. over the past
year. They use routers to connect to my computer and trace, delete files, spawn programs downloaded and completely unravel my life so I know
that this warning from Secunia is real!

Why are previous patches not included in major releases ?

I will be attempting to raise a TAR for this but I think it is sufficiently serious to also raise in public.
In forms 10.1.0.2 I am encountering a serious intermittent problem which EXACTLY matches the symptoms of Bug 3018714.
Alledgedly it is fixed by 6i patchset 17
... and by 9.0.2.3 patch 3882050
... and by 9.0.4 patchset 1
And now the bug has reappeared in the next major release.
Why keep producing major releases which bring back previous bugs ?
Doing it once is bad enough, but how can 3 times be acceptable ?
Also the bug has not been revised for nearly a year and there is no mention of the latest release.
Would be nice to hear from Grant on this one.

Are you saying the Sun JRE and Jinit are now the same ? Or are you saying we should no longer use Jinitiator. Do sun have a JRE which is preferable to the jinit which comes with 10gr2 ?

We started web deployment on 6i then went to 10g then 10gR2 and saw the problem in each of those versions.
As for progress on the TAR. Guess what. They want a test case based on the scott/tiger schema. What a surprise ! Not very helpful for a problem which appears seemingly at random and cannot be reproduced at will. Don't they realise that real applications are far more complicated than anything mr Scott ever dreamed of.

Are Solaris Patches ONLY available for a fee?

I have tried repeatedly to get Patch Manager for Solaris 9, which we're running on a brand new V240. The application we purchased it for is not yet certified to be binary compatible with SOL 10, so we were forced to go back to SOL9.
SunSolve makes PatchManager and PatchPro available for free download to Solaris 8 users. Update Connection is available to Solaris 10 users. Solaris 9 users seem to be in a position to pay for a service plan to get updates.
We purcased 2 Sun Servers at the same time. The x86 server is running Linux, which we have no trouble getting free updates for, particularly security updates.
I'm thinking that maybe I need to switch our Sun SPARC server to OpenSolaris to get the same kind of benefits we are used to with Linux.
Comments, suggestions, anyone?

After being told by many people in these forums that I could get the PatchManager and patches here for free, and going thru much frustration trying, I called the school's local Sun dealer.
The Sun dealer told me that since Sun released Solaris for FREE download, Sun is requiring a support contract to get updates and patches. Basically, the support contracts pay for the "FREE" O/S.
The Sun web pages kept insisting I have a support contract, so what the Sun dealer told me concurs with what I ran into on here.

Why Are Reader Patches Not Combined?

It is so very inconvenient to have to patch Adobe Reader multiple times, especially when first installing. Additionally, it takes great effort to determine which patches are already applied so that the correct one(s) can be added. Patches should be cumulative so that the latest one can be applied to any previous major version, e.g., 8.17 ca be applied to any 8.x Reader.
I think this is a no-brainer. Businesses have hundreds or thousands of clients to take care of, and Adobe is doing a poor job of addressing the corporate customer.

What are these patches 7155253, 7155254 ??

Hi All,
we have an oracle 10.2.0.4.0 production Databse. When I did opacth lsinventory. I did see following 7155253, 7155254 patches were applied in August 2009. These patches are not applied on any of our other prod database. I want to know what patchs are they. I did search in metalink and google. No information found. May be my serching options in metalink are not correct. Can some one please tell me what kind of patches are they and their purpose.

One of our production databases have all these 12 pacthes installed along with 7155253 and 7155254. We are in the process of upgrading all our databases to 11g and trying to pursue the effect of these 2 additional patches and what is their purpose? Why installed on only this database?

PeopleTools 8.51- where are the patches

A while back, we installed Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 and PeopleTools 8.50 for our HRMS 9 system. At the time, we used a document, probably called
Operating System, RDBMS & Additional Component Patches Required for Installation PeopleTools 8.50, that had a bunch of Oracle patches that were required. Now we are installing Oracle 11.2 and PeopleTools 8.51 for our Finance, and there doesn't appear to be a document enumerating patches, Just Note 749196.1 (PeopleTools Certifications- Suggested Fixes for PT8.51). Do I need to dig deeper, or did they fix something in the newer versions and these are no longer required?

In addition of that mote, you should also go through the certification tab for more details (for instance the min version/update required for Linux).

Where are the patch updates to download for Macromedia MX?

Yes, I know it's old but I bought this almost 10 years ago and never did use it much. We're talkin Flash MX (Flash Professional 6 (not CS6)), Freehand MX (Freehand 10), and Dreamweaver MX (Dreamweaver 6), and Fireworks FX.
I'll definately be using Flash FX (old set of Flash library content I bought) and possibly Freehand 10, unless Microsoft Expressions Design does a better job than Freehand 10.
Today the software is fast and I'll be using it alot more. I'd like to patch the software but otherwise it works fine.
No I don't need it to do inane flash ads hawking mortage refinancing or 'one weird trick' to go to some website so they can rip me off.

Support for those old versions was stopped long ago.
Not really sure why you want/need to patch that software tho. If the software works fine, use it and go. There is very little or no security reasons for not doing so.
You may discover more security problems by "patching" the software from some 3rd, knockoff scammer than not patching at all.
