Yes you're correct; in fact, I was talking of generating PDF files, not displaying them (for display I don't know, but the way I understood how ADS works, I guess it's not possible too).
I heard that there is one workaround : create a form with a multiple occurrence subform (but you must create it !)
Third-party tools : no experience of them (but if you look at the web, you'll find plenty of them : pdfcreator, adobe, pdfill, pdfsplit, gsview, pdftk, etc. See [list of pdf tools|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PDF_software])

  • Convert Adobe Form to SMARTFORM

    Hi,
is it possible to convert a form created with adobe form builder to a SMARTFORM document?
I need to upload a PDF or DOC document into a SMARTFORM. This seems not to be possible. So I used Adobe for this upload. But now I can't convert it to a SMARTFORM document...
    Can this problem solved?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Gabriel,
as far as I know, SAP does not deliver any tools to support conversion between smartforms and pdfs ... I did it manually, which is a pain in the neck ...

  • Getting Error while generate Adobe form

    Hi,
I  am new to adobe smartforms, i am getting one error while activate smartform. we need to set anything in SICF setting for Adobe smartform??. i am get error like "this forms refers to external file which is not found in compters.please create connection to folder so thatt these should be found.

    Hi
Are you talking about adobe forms or smartforms. These are 2 different types of forms. For Adobe forms you need an ADS which sits on the java stack and needs to be configured properly. Some services need to be activated in SICF for the configuration as well. A conplete guide on how to configure the ADS is found on the following link

Interactive Forms based on Adobe software is SAP's new solution for forms development. Its first release has the focus on interactive use of forms. High-volume printing is supported in principle, but - being a new solution - the performance has not yet reached the same level as Smart Forms or SAPscript, two established solutions that had years to grow. Interactive Forms is the only solution that will continue to be enhanced with new features, while SAPscript and Smart Forms will be supported without limitations.
When (or if) to move to Interactive Forms depends on your requirements. For interactive forms usage, i.e. the new functions, you have no choice, as the existing solutions don't support it. High-volume print scenarios need to be carefully analyzed to see whether your concrete requirements can be met at this point.
However, it is possible to move to Smart Forms and design your forms in such a way that a migration at any point in the future would be but a small step. Smart Forms offers from Web AS 6.40 a migration wizard to Interactive Forms. Technically, everything can be migrated, but we recommend against things like ABAP program nodes, for example.
You are not forced to ever go to Interactive Forms if you don't want to. It really depends on whether your client needs any of the new features in Interactive Forms. Also, if they are currently working with JetForms, they could enquire with Adobe directly what migration path they offer to the joint solution.
    go thru this links
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d2/4a94696de6429cada345c12098b009/frameset.htm
    example
To get an overview idea about Adobe forms ,
Using SFP Tcode , first you need to create a interface . in interface you can declare the import and export parameters and also the declaration part, coding etc : This is nothing but similar to Function module interface.
And now we have to create the Form which is interactive. Create the form and enter the interface name which you have created in first step, so that the parameters , declarations of fields etc : will be copied and available in the form layout. So that you can drag and drop these declared fields ( dclared fields of interface ) to the layout.
Create the context and layout in the form.
The layout generated can be previewed and saved as PDF output.
Now we need to integrate the driver program and the PDF form to get the final output as per the requirement.
On activating and executing the form you will get a function module name just similar to smartforms.
The driver program needs to call this FM.
Refer to the below sample code :
    DATA : is_customer TYPE scustom.
    DATA : it_bookings TYPE ty_bookings.
    DATA : iv_image_url TYPE string.
    DATA : iv_sending_country TYPE adrc-country.

  • Wed dynpro Screen VS Adobe forms

    Hi,
as i understood adobe forms can be used as offline files and later can be uploaded, and also functionality like printing is possible with adobe forms.
what i dont understood is why dont we just use normal webdynpro screens instead of adobe forms
what are the basic differences that force us to use adobe forms rather than normal web dynpro screens
    this may seems weird question!!!
    your suggestions are invited.
    Thanks,
    Kranthi.

    Hi,
SAP and Adobe have a very strong relationship, both at the business level and the technical level. SAP ship a number of PDF form templates as standard forms for to use, complementing SAP's Smartform and SAPScript offerings. They also ship the Adobe Form designer in both the ABAP and Java development environments. However, *to develop inhouse forms or enhance existing forms customers will need some expertise in LiveCycle and need to pay some additional licensing fees.* The Adobe Forms are very familiar to end-users and offer both online (through Webdynpro) and offline solutions for data entry.
One thing to be aware of is that Adobe Forms are not as tightly integrated to the ABAP runtime as say WD4A and therefore do not offer the richer client functionality, but are very suitable for simple forms and simple requirements.
    Another thing,
Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms. Many companies must be using this for hard copies / ALE / EDI or to transfer data from SAP to others.
Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too.  So this has an additional feature compared to smartforms.
    Hope you are cleared...

  • Multiple copies in Adobe form with different header text

    Hi All,
I have created Adobe form for Invoice and now my requirement is when we create an invoice it should generate 4 copies with different texts like original copy, duplicate copy and triplicate copy.
I know its possible in samrtforms using the copy window and maintaing text there. Is it possible in adobe form , if yes how can we achieve this.
    Regards
    Lalit

Are you using a custom driver program?
If yes, then loop the function module with the number of copies you have.
the copy name should be a variable which should be passed to the form in the loop change the value of the copy control accordingly.
Please let me know, if you see any issues.
    Thanks,

  • Hi Experts, some terms in adobe form? thanks in advance!

    Hi Experts,
I am learning adobe form, and I am familiar with smartform, but when I read the document about adobe form, I can make comparison between adobe form and smartform, so could anyone please tell me the differences and same places of adobe form and smartform? such as what is master page, body pages, content area? and how to create an address in the layout like smartform? thanks in advance.
    Kind regards
    Dawson

    Hi Dawson,
BC450 is one of SAP training courses.
Training is always the best way to learn.
If you don't like it, FREE useful documents are provided by SAP.
    Please refer to it.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPInteractiveFormsbyAdobe

In addition, sample forms are helpful.
You can find some forms in your SAP system.
Execute transaction SFP, and use F4 help.
If you install LiveCycle Designer, sample forms by Adobe are also installed.

  • Duplex Printing of Adobe Forms.

    Hi All,
In our project we are making use of adobe forms. Currently if we print the forms, then they are printed only on one side of the paper. Could you please let us know, if it is possible to provide the duplex printing option? If yes, please let us know how to achieve the duplex printing functionality?
    Thanks,
    Manohar Dubbaka.

    Hi All,
The duplex printing of the adobe PDF forms can be achieved by setting the parameter available on Master Page of Adobe PDF.
This option is available in Adobe Live Cycle Designer 8.0 version.
The option is in the object view of the master page.
    Master Page->Object->Pagination->Print on Both Sides.
Since we got this option, we did not have to change any XDC files.
    Regards,
    Manohar Dubbaka.

  • Business Graphics in Adobe Form

    Hi Gurus,
One of our client has requirement of showing business graphics like Graphs, pie charts on the Adobe form. Is it possible in Adobe forms to show these graphics. If yes, then can anyone please send me some links, documents.
    With Regards,
    Amit

    Amit,
I don't think Adobe forms has the capability to display the Business graphics. I don't see any control for displaying the business graphics in library palette.
    Thanks!

  • Migration of JSP forms into adobe forms for PCRs

    Hi All,
I am working on Upgrade project for ESS/MSS. Our client had JSP based PCRs which we need to migrate into adobe based PCRs.
i have few questions regarding this migration.
Has someone the experience to migrate a  JSP based PCR into Adobe based PCR?
How much effort the migration will take, and can we fully reuse ISR configuration and workflow?
    Thanks,
    Ankur

If you are using the SAP delivered JSP forms - there maybe equivalent SAP delivered Adobe based PCRs in the next ESS/MSS releases that you can use instead of migrating the forms
I am not aware of any tools or documentation that help to migrate custom JSPs to custom Adobe forms
As I see it you would have to create new Adobe based versions  of your JSP PCRs  - I am vaguely aware of a guide entitled
"Developing Your Own Personnel Change Requests" for ERP2004 - however I am not sure how you would obtain a copy
or whether this approach is recommended, supported or complete - this documentation would detail how to create an ISR based Adobe form
At the same time there may be restrictions as to what standard JSP forms are available as standard Adobe forms and what can be configured in the ISR scenarios (for example use of Value Help in WD JAVA Adobe scenarios)
    - SAP have been recommending instead of creating say a ISR based Adobe form for WD JAVA to
use HCM processes and forms (also available in the MSS role) going forward
    - HCM processes and forms is WD ABAP based framework using Adobe which allows users to create custom Adobe forms which update back-end infotypes directly from the Portal - also such scenarios as Value Help etc may be possible (or more easily achieved)
    Best wishes
    Stuart

  • Problem while generating copies in Adobe Forms

    Hi Experts,
I'm trying to print two copies of my adobe form, I have changed the copies values from Output Options Pop up and printed the form. But i didn't get two copies of it instead I got only one copy. And I have checked SPAD configuration also, the document gets printed according to copy counter specified from the form but in case of adobe it is not. We tried with smartforms, it is working fine. Please see the following screenshots.
    1. Entered the number of copies as 2.
    2. After clicking on print button, I got the following ouput.
    SPAD Configuration:
    Please provide your valuable inputs.

Copies are not supported in adobe form. There are certain things which are different between the forms. SAP note 1009567 explains it clearly.  Alternative solution to get multiple copies has been explained in the thread  Multiple copies in Adobe form with different header text.
    So,i'm closing this thread.

  • Issue printing labels in Adobe form via Datamax printer

    Hi,
We have developed an Adobe form which contains a barcode for the label.
This label gets printed fine when we print it on the printers in the office headquarters.
However, at the plant location where it is supposed to be printed, the labels are not getting printed.
The printer at the plant location is Datamax H-4212.
Any idea what's wrong? Will the Adobe form need to be changed for this?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Anusha

    Hi,
Which device type do you use to create the spool and print? Only the device types described in the following note are possible with Adobe forms:
    685571 - Printing PDF-based forms
I suggest you try with device type PDF1 and SAPPDFPRNT as per SAP note 1444342.
