Are multiple slide shows possible?

Can I make more than one slide show per page? I'm guessing no, but here's what I'd like to accomplish: create 3 - 5 thumbnail photos, all on one page... and have each one launch its own independent and relative slide show. Can do? Or do I have to get a more sophisticated website making app? Thanks in advance for any and all help/advice. It seems like like I live in Apple Discussions lately.

nope, see my post here:

You can link album (thumbnail) to photo page, then slideshow from there, but no direct thumbnail to slideshow

  • How to make backwards navigation through slide shows possible?

    Hi, I just made my first Encore DVD slide show and spent hours trying to figure out how to do this without a luck. The DVD is one Main Menu with buttons to different slide shows that are all set to manual advance. The end action of each slide show takes to the first image in the next slide show and that was easy and very obvious to achieve in Encore but I didn't find any way to achieve the same for backwards navigation. Does anybody know how to do that.
    Will appreciate any help

    In case my message wasn't clear, I will try to describe better what I want to achieve.
    Currently the viewer starts from a Main menu with 16 buttons linked to 16 slide shows. Starting from the first or any slide show and pressing the next button after an image is displayed, the viewer can see linearly all images in all slide show from that point to the end without ever going to the main menu.
    However if the viewer at any point start pressing the previous button on the remote control, he/she can only go to the start of the current slide show and the only way to get to a previous slide show is to use the Main menu button and then jump from there.
    Is it possible to make a DVD thata will allow the view to go backwards through different slide shows by pressing the previous button??

  • Combining multiple slide shows

    I'm not sure this question was ever really answered. I did see it posted. I have about 5 slide shows that I would like to put on 1 DVD. I can make a menu and link to each individual slide show. But I can't figure out how to play all 5 slide shows from beginning to end. Each slide show has 99 slidees. How do I do this? I need to know from someone this week, if possible. Thanks!

    I figured out how to build the playlist. Now I have a playlist with all 5 slideshows on it. What's the next step to put it all on a dvd?

  • Multiple slide show problems

    OK. Im really stuck here.
    I have made a slide show in Flash 8 using actionscript 2. Ive
    managed to succeed to a point. But I will tell you prblems and
    hopefully they can be solved here as Ive found no where on web that
    can.
    Problem1: I have a slide show with 5 slides all in the parent
    of 'presentation'. I have input actionscipt code to allow the
    current slide to go to the next slide at the end of the timeline. I
    then linked the last slide with the first slide. Why oh why does
    this freeze on it 2nd loop through the slides on the 3rd slide. I
    just dont get it!! It plays once then freezes on the 3rd
    slide?!?!?!?!?
    Problem2: I have put this actionscipt code against a button,
    why doesnt it work when it does for other people?
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://www.mysite","_self");
    If anyone can help please do.

    lol use a valid url...good one...not that much of a noob.
    OK so here is code:
    The link code goes as follows: (these links dont work! Why?),
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://www.mysite","_self");
    The next slide code goes as follows:
    stop();
    function goNext(){
    currentSlide.gotoNextSlide();
    clearInterval(timer);
    var timer = setInterval(goNext, 500);
    The go to first slide goes as follows:
    stop();
    function goNext(){
    _root.presentation.gotoSlide(_root.presentation.slide1);
    clearInterval(timer);
    var timer = setInterval(goNext, 500);
    As I say it all works until 2nd loop and then stops on 3rd
    slide....?

  • Multiple slide show

    I'd like to add captions to the slide show in the given site.
    I'd like to run the captions directly below the photos. Can any of
    you java script geniuses help with the coding? Thanks.
    http://www.inspirationalphotographybycheryl.com/portfolio.html

    Thanks Alan for your help!
    Would I be able to use a menu selection for this (thus
    allowing choices for the slideshow) as I have in my current
    slideshow? I'm referring to the side menu of portfolio choices, not
    the navigation menu. If so, where and how would I connect it to the
    java script?
    Thanks again.

  • Can I make a DVD with multiple slide shows?

    I am making a project for my son's school. Each classroom (7 or 8 rooms) has their own photo show that I am making. The school wants me to put all of the photoshows on one DVD and separate classrooms into different titles, so families can skip to their child's classroom. So, in theory, I would have one DVD and about 7 or 8 chapters on it. Each chapter would be a different photo show. Can this be done? Is there a tutorial that would be able to help me with this? I have made a photo show and have burned it onto a DVD, but I haven't done anything that requires separate headers/titles. Thoughts? Tia.

    Here's a few useful tips when preparing the slideshow/s for an iDvd ...
    First suggestion is not to exceed 6 buttons per menu (although some themes allow for up to 12 buttons per menu).
    Secondly, don't exceed 99 images per slideshow if the objective is to present the slideshow on a typical set top dvd player or TV. Disregard this rule if you will use your mac / computer to present the dvd slideshow. Here's why:
    iDVD '08: After 99 images in a slideshow, set-top DVD player will reset to chapter 1
    In iDVD '08, your slideshows are no longer limited to 99 images. You can now have up to 9,801 images in a slideshow. When you are playing a slideshow on your DVD player, it will number the slides (which are chapters) from 1 to 99 and then start numbering over again at number 1 (on the one-hundredth slide). This is normal and not something you can control when you author your DVD. It is a specification that applies to all DVD players.
    Related documents
    Article 302962: Slideshow audio playback drops out after 99 images
    Thirdly, the following are articles to be aware of when making a slideshow/s with iDvd:
    Preparing images for iDVD slideshows
    You can use photos, movies, presentation slides (created in a program such as Keynote), or other image files in a slideshow created in iDVD. iDVD works with any image file that is supported by QuickTime (including PICT, JPEG, TIFF, and PDF.) You can also use photos directly from your iPhoto library.
    Images and movies in a slideshow are scaled to fit the standard DVD window size, but the aspect ratio is preserved. For example, a picture taken vertically (also known as “portrait format”) may have black bands on either side of it to fill out the screen. If you want an image to fit the DVD window exactly, use an image-editing application to resize the image before bringing it into iDVD. (It is not possible to resize movies.) Resize to these dimensions:

    720 x 540 pixels for standard video in NTSC format

    854 x 480 pixels for widescreen in NTSC format

    768 x 576 pixels for standard video in PAL format

    1024 x 576 pixels for widescreen in PAL format
    You can also make sure images in iDVD are always scaled to a size that will fit within the area visible on most TV screens, or the “TV safe area.”
    o fit slides into the TV safe area:
    Choose iDVD > Preferences.
    Click Slideshow.
    Select the checkbox labeled “Always scale slides to TV Safe Area.”
    Adding menus to an iDVD project
    Depending on which theme you choose, the menus in your iDVD project can hold either 6 or 12 buttons. If you need more buttons on a menu than your theme allows, or if you need additional menus to organize the content of your DVD, you can create submenus.
    Submenus give you flexibility in organizing your DVD. For example, perhaps you have several slideshows in your project. You can create a button on your main menu that links to a slideshow submenu that includes links to each of your slideshows. You can also create submenus for additional movies, extra features, and so on.
    To add a submenu:
    Make sure the menu to which you want to add a submenu is showing in the iDVD window.
    Click the Add button (shown below), and choose Add Submenu from the pop-up menu.
    A placeholder button labeled My Submenu appears on the menu. It has the default button style for the theme, so you may need to change it to match other buttons on the menu.
    Click the placeholder label for the new button once to highlight it, and type a new name for the button.
    When you click the label to highlight it, a light blue background appears behind the text.
    Using the pop-up menus in the in-place control that appears (shown below), change the typeface, font style, and font size of the button name if you want.
    To open the new submenu, double-click the newly added button. Notice that iDVD automatically applies the Extras menu style from your project’s theme to the submenu. Also, a Back button that returns to the previous menu appears on the submenu. You can now edit this menu just as you edit any other menu, changing its theme if you want. You can even use the Add button to create buttons that navigate to sub-submenus.
    For more information about creating submenus, see Related Topics below.
    And lastly, keep in mind you can also use iPhoto (as well as third party apps) for making a slideshow/s for use within iDvd.
    Using iPhoto slideshows in iDVD
    You can easily create slideshows in iDVD using images or albums from your iPhoto library.
    You can also add slideshows created in iPhoto to your iDVD project. These slideshows are imported into iDVD as movies, which retain the effects and sounds you created in iPhoto. As a result, you can’t edit or change these slideshows in iDVD, and viewers can’t manually click through the slideshow using the DVD player remote control.
    To import an iPhoto slideshow:
    Make sure the DVD menu from which you want to access the slideshow is open in the iDVD window.
    For example, if you want the slideshow to be accessible from the main menu of the DVD, the main menu should be showing in the iDVD window.
    Open iPhoto and select a slideshow.
    Choose Share > “Send to iDVD.”
    After several minutes, a button for the slideshow appears on the menu. The button has the same name as the slideshow.
    The slideshow also appears in the Movies section of the Media pane, so you can use it in other iDVD projects as well.
    You can change the name of the button by clicking the button twice to highlight the text and typing a new name.
    If iDVD is not open when you send your iPhoto slideshow to iDVD, iDVD opens to a new project automatically when iPhoto finishes processing the slideshow. A DVD menu, with a default theme, is displayed in the iDVD window, and it has a button for the iPhoto slideshow. In this case, if you want to add the sideshow to an existing iDVD project instead, choose File > Open, click Don’t Save, and then choose an existing project. When the project is open, you can click the Media button, then Movies, and drag the slideshow to any menu.
    If your version of iPhoto does not support exporting directly to iDVD, you must export the slideshow from iPhoto as a QuickTime movie, and then import the QuickTime movie into your iDVD project.

  • Are Multiple Alert Logs Possible ?

    Hi,
    Oracle Database supports Multiples of Control File , Rego Logs , Archive Logs . With these the files could be spread on to different disks and it may help during a disk crash.
    I want to know whether Multiple Alert Logs are possible , as it holds the Database Activity History.
    If possible I could put on to some other disk and reduse the risk on it.
    Regards,
    R.Senthil Kumar

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have an alternate solution ,it is HARD LINKING Files
    Well it is quit simple and could be done at the Unix level with the linking feature.
    Most files appear in only one directory. However, HARD LINKING is the only ways to make a file appear in more than one place.
    Syntax:
    # ln <Original File> <Hard Linking Path>
    Eg:
    # ln /home2/migr/oramigr/MGR_s1/bdump/alert_MIGR.log /home1/backup/alert_MIGR.log
    When a file is hard-linked to multiple directories, it lives equally in all of the directories. If it is deleted from one directory with the rm command, it will still appear in the others.
    Thus like Multiples Control File ,Online Redo Log File and Archived Logs ,it is also possible to have Multiples of HARDLINKED Alert Logs.
    But wonder why Oracle has no Solution to it.
    Regards

  • Why are multiple slides under one table of contents button?

    I'm using Captivate 8, and notice that when I preview my course, the table of contents buttons directly correspond with each slide but then after that, the remaining slides are lumped under one table of contents button.  How can I fix this?  In other words, when looking at the table of contents, it looks like my course only has 6 slides when in reality there's 30...many of which are lumped under the last button.

    You have to scroll, they are not under one button at all.
    Good practice is to group slides, then you'll see the hierarchy in the TOC and you are able to collapse all groups. That way the TOC will have a clean look, and the user can open a group to see the individual slides.

  • Are multiple contact formats possible?

    I live in one country (not the US) and have family and friends scattered across the globe (last count four continents and 20+ countries). Using one format for contacts doesn't work very well. It seems to me that Address Book only supports one format. Whatever you choose, that is what you get for everyone.
    What I would like would be to define a single default format, but the ability to select different formats for different people living in different places.
    Is there anyway (no matter how clumsy) to do this?
    Bob

    Here is the script. I have it set to replace a blank country with US. That is the first entry in the property list {missing value, "us"}. If your cards with blank countries are mostly from Sweden, change the "us" to "se". If you have countries I don't have listed, try getting them from the ISO 3166 Country Codes. Just use the same format as the list in the CountryCode property, below.
    The Applescript is interactive in that if it doesn't find a country code, it asks what you want. I have it defaulted to "us". (default answer "us").
    Just copy the code below into a new Script Editor document, modify it as necessary, and click the run button. It will take a little while to run, but you can do other things while it is working.
    Finally, if you have the Countries spelled differently in your Address Book, just fix them in the property list in the code so they match yours. If you have multiples (see the entries on the US), just add them like I did. If you know you don't have some of the countries, you can delete them. It will make the script run a little faster with less to search.

  • Where are my slide show music settings

    I recently upgraded to iPhoto 6.0.3. When I try to make a slideshow I click the Music button and check my song selection from my iTunes library. The song I had selected for the album is not longer selected. I've lost all my song selections I had saved for each of my albums. Is there any way to get these back?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    I'm not sure. The only thing I can think of is to use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library. It creates a new library and uses the info from the original library's data files for it's info. It might just pickup on the music assignments and assign them correctly. If you don't like the resulting library you can trash it and go back to the current one. Here's how:
    Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: It can take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. One user reported that with a library of about 5,000 images it took about 12 hours so plan ahead.

  • Why are my slide shows disappearing and drop down menus not working?

    I have a huge problem with clients currently waiting on a response from us.
    We have created a website with MUSE, we have implemented slideshows and drop down menus which work fine when you preview them.
    HOWEVER, once we put an editor in place for the client to then input their content onto the website, all of the slideshows disappear and the drop down menus no longer work!?
    What do I do to rectify this problem??
    Thanks Guys

    This actually did work... But, I have figured out that the issue is really in IE7... and for whatever reason the code was making IE8 go into compatability mode (essentially using IE7).

  • Can I make different slide shows play without having to go to menu each time

    I put multiple slide shows in the same file and are trying to figure out how to make them play on a continuous loop vs. having to click on each one at the main menu screen

    I put multiple slide shows in the same file
    By file I assume you mean iDVD project, correct?
    Are these slideshows QT movies created from iPhoto or iMovie?  If so put them all in an iDVD slideshow as shown below:
    You can call that particular slideshow "Play All" or something similar.  Set the Slide duration to anything except manual.  Do not use any type of transition.
    Then, while in the Map mode, select the slideshow and use the Advanced ➙ Loop Slideshow menu option.

  • Photoshop Elements 4 Slide Show Tips

    I just spent a weekend making five slide shows with Photoshop Elements 4. I made PDF files and DVDs from all of them, and I experimented extensively. Here are some things I learned:
    Making a slide show in Elements 4 is simple and reasonably intuitive, especially if you are familiar with the Organizer. If youre not familiar with the Organizer, making a slide show gives you a good opportunity to become so. Its worth it.
    As with any computer task, theres a learning curve associated with making slide shows, but its a worthwhile curve to climb up. Once youre familiar with making slide shows, making new ones is easy, fun, and very productive.
    Elements 4 lets you output slide shows as PDF files (.PDF) or Movie Files (.WMV).
    When one of the PDF files is viewed on a computer with Adobe Viewer 7.0, the show is animated in accordance with the timing set up in Elements 4. When watching a slide show, the user can press ESC to stop the viewer from stepping through the slides. This enables navigation buttons that can be used to move from slide to slide. In this mode, Adobe Viewers Picture Tasks Menu, Select Tool, and Snapshot Tool can be used to process individual images. Some of the possible actions are selecting and copying all or part of the image, printing it, and even ordering prints online. These are excellent features, but not obvious to everyone, so you should tell your audience about them.
    You can view the WMV files on Windows Media Player or whatever multimedia software you use. If you have a DVD burner and simple DVD creation software, you can easily convert the WMV files to DVDs.
    There are some pros and cons of each of the three formats:
    PDF can be played on any computer with Adobe viewer. Sound track can be unstable. Can't see pan & zoom. CAN copy and process individual images IF you have Adobe Viewer 7.
    WMV can be played on any computer with Windows Media Player or similar. Sound track can be unstable. CAN see pan & zoom, which are excellent slide show features (try them). Can't copy images locally.
    You can make a
    DVD from WMV files. It has stable audio and shows pan & zoom, but resolution is lower than the other two.
    In a few hours (from 12/5/05 AM), you can download PDF versions of my slide shows from the reunions page at www.ussrankin.org. The BANQUET one has the most features.

    Louis,
    I hope you are happy with the decision to go with the Sony package. I really like the flexibility of both programs.
    I'd be happy to answer some questions. I changed my Adobe forum profile so that you can see my e-mail address. I'll leave it on there for a day or so.
    Have you tried the Sony website and forums?
    http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/default.asp
    I have always found them helpful, much like this one.
    I have to admit that my skills on DVD Architect Studio 3 are not as good as they are on Movie Studio 6. I cut my teeth on the first full blown version of DVD Architect [1.0]. DVD Architect Studio has so many more features and flexibility, it is amazing. The only bad thing about DVD Architect Studio that I can see is that it won't encode the audio in Dolby AC-3 format, which is the preferred format. If you use the audio defaults in the program, however, you will be fine unless you are trying to cram more than 60 minutes worth of stuff onto the DVD. Personally, I think that is bad practice anyway, because who wants to watch an hour of your slideshows!

  • How to save a pdf with multiple slides per page

    I have multiple pdf files that I would like to combine but for some of those files, there were originally from powerpoint. For those files, I would like to change the pdf so that there are multiple slides per page. I don't have a copy of the original powerpoints. I am trying to find an easy way to do this because I have at least a hundred pdfs to do. Thank you!

    You could print a PDF to the Adobe PDF printer, and select multiple Pages per Sheet on the Layout tab of the printer Properties dialog. Printing a PDF to PDF is generally frowned upon, but once it a while it comes in handy. It could have some unwelcome side effects though like wiping out your carefully crafted accessibility tags, bookmarks, and some document properties.

  • Is it possible to add multiple  songs to a slide show?

    Hi there.
    A slide show can be quite long as you all know and the same music continusly repeated can become boring.
    Is it possible to add several songs to the slide show to overcome this problem?
    Regards.

    One thing you can do to make it all turn out even--think about how long each slide is going to display, say you want about 3 seconds per slide, multiply by the number of slides, say you have 100 slides (I picked those numbers so the arithmetic would be easy!). That's a total of 300 seconds. Divide by 60 seconds per minute to get the number of minutes, in this case that would be 5 minutes. Then when you make your playlist in iTunes find music that fits the mood of the show and that totals a little more than 5 minutes (and is NOT Protected, as Terence mentioned). Back in iPhoto select your Playlist in the Music section and then check the box to have the slideshow fit the music, and iPhoto will adjust the display time so that everything runs the same length of time. Export to iDVD and burn your disk.
    Personally, I like to get a little fancier, so I export my slideshow without sound, then open the project in iMovie HD and make a layered soundtrack, where I arrange the music and sound effects, as in this one:
    http://homepage.mac.com/francines/.Movies/kenstr.html
    It has the music, plus a coffee gurgle, birds tweeting, page flips and a lion roar at the end. Once it's built you can send it to iDVD at full size and/or, as I did here, make a small streaming web version to share over the Internet. I wrote up a VERY short tutorial on this (notes from a workshop I ran) and put it up here:
    http://pinkmutant.com/smug/psws06/bling.html
    Afraid I haven't worked that much with iMovie 08, but I believe you can do something along the same lines.
