Are N80 prob's related to 3g?

Hello all, I have an N80 on Orange - yes I know nearly everyone on here has an Orange N80, anyway, I have only just started getting some problems with my handset and I got mine in the first week of release, mainly the handset freezing when I take a call and it becoming unresponsive until I switch off and restart. I called Orange over this and they suggested that as I don't use video calling - for now anyway, I change my settings to use the GSM network instead, the very pleasant lady on the phone told me that although where I am based for work has a very strong 3g signal, as I travel around a little for my job I am actually travelling through areas with little or no 3g coverage and this was making the phone work extra hard searching for a signal! I must admit though, I did this 2 days ago and all my problems have gone and battery life is marginally increased too, has anyone else experienced this? BTW, firmware is V 3.0614.0.3 and Orange said they have no updates at the moment but to be honest if there is a firmware upgrade I take it to my local Nokia centre and have it done under the manufacturers warranty.

And, as I said, I don't seem to be having the problems anymore. I had all the same problems as others when I first got my phone but after a firmware upgrade most were sorted - although there are other issues like web crashing while using wifi but other day to day uses of the phone seem to be ok. 3g video calling isn't an issue for me at the moment so gsm is fine, I got this phone as much for it's offline features like PIM etc because my 9500 was way too heavy and in that respect it suits just fine, do you know if there is a newer firmware version than I have? I also find, as with other new devices, that spending some time setting it up to your own preferences, standby menu, shortcut buttons and turning off features you rarely or never use and generaly aquainting yourself with it's features can make life far easier for both you and the device. comments please.

    No, never have run 10.7 - it was my mistake on the drop down menu!
    Software update issues - security update, itunes, java update 14 - all these are not happening for me - it starts the download process and then reverts to an error message.
    A previous response suggested I try Combo Update to iron out some glitches - but this I can't download either as once downloaded it tells me ' the following disk images couldn't be opened' reason - illegal seek.
    In addition today, my Time Machine has been unable to do its hourly back-up stating 'Volumes/....sparse.bundle' could not be accessed.
    I am curious to know if all these issues are related and if something sinister has occurred.
    Everything else is working perfectly!

    The questions are this LSA relate to each other or it just happen like this ???

    There is no relation between the type of LSA (1,2,3,4,5,7) exchanged between the routers within an area and between the areas to exchange the link state information and the packets which are used to form an ospf neigh and adjancy relationship.
    Taking an example LSA 5 which is used to carry the external route information into an area is not at all related to type 5 LSA which you are talking for formaing a naighbor relationship.
    I think the neighbor relationship is formed using hello packet, dd packet and LSU and LSR packets which you may name as type of LSA's. but these are not at all related to LSA's which are used to carry route information between the areas and within areas.

  • Are people who are having prob with iTunes 8.2 & iPhone OS3.0 using Intego?

    I am wondering whether people who are having problems with iTunes and iPhone are using Intego's Netbarrier? I couldn't download OS3.0 until I turned off Banner and eventually the whole thing. Is this the cause of my problems? My iPhone is no longer recognized by iTunes 8.2.

    I want to withdraw this question as it unfairly associates many problems with this one company and application. The problems are not just related to this software. I apologize to Intego if this appeared accusatory.
    I have since found answers to all of the questions posed for the iPhone 3.0 update. Only one was related to Intego and its firewall.

  • My desktop icons are no longer "app related" - no colour!

    Hi there. I used a little app called Font Nuke because my Word docs were taking some time to open up and this seems to be font-related. As a result of this, upon the restart, my desktop icons which represent pdf, jpeg, .doc and .xls are all black & white, and the text of all my desktop icons and folders is now looking fuzzy as well as strangely placed. Hmmm. I closed all apps and removed the com.apple.finer.plist doc from my preferences, rebooted, and the problem continues. I see that zooming my desktop icons from 28 (preferred size) to 76 solves the issue, but nobody wants a desktop icon on a laptop screen to be so large. What the......? is going on???? Grateful for any advice on this one! Thanks.

  • Joining 2 related records using PL SQL in Apex - Problems when there are more than 2 related records?

    I am combining 2 related records of legacy data together that make up a marriage record.  I am doing this in APEX using a before header process using the following code below which works well when there are only 2 related records which joins the bride and groom record together on screen in apex.  I have appended a field called principle which is set to 'Y' for the groom and 'N' for the bride to this legacy data
    However there are lots of records where in some instances there are 3, 4 , 5, 6 or even 1 record which causes the PL/SQL in APEX to not return the correct data.  The difference in these related columns is that the name of the bride or groom could be different but it is the same person, its just that from the old system if a person had another name or was formally known as they would create another duplicate record for the marriage with the different name, but the book and entry number is the same as this is unique for each couple who get married.
    How can I adapt the script below so that if there are more than 2 records that match the entry and book values then it will display a message or is there a better possible work around?  Cleaning the data would be not an option as there are thousands of rows of where these occurrences occur

    The data is from an old legacy flat file database that has been exported into a relational database.
    It should have been normalized at the time it was imported.
    Without having to redesign the data model what options do I have in changing the PL/SQL to cater for multiple occurances
    In my professional opinion, none. The actual problem is the data model, so that's what should be changed.

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • All of my images in Elements 9 are gone. Possibly related, strange icons in iPhoto have appeared.

    All that's left of hundreds of images in Elements are a few gray Elements icons with question marks.  I don't know if it's related, but iPhoto has strange images such as a Safari symbol labeled ibikb, and other icons labeled Reading List, Bookmarks, Top Sites, S0001 Full Screen Enter.......  Clicking on any of these brings up the message that they cannot be opened because the original item cannot be found.  HELP PLEASE.

    Thanks to the forum, I was able to locate them in my Mac's User Name/Pictures.  Is there a way to bring them back into Elements 9?

    Varies per install, since you might not be using a given feature of lvm. add 'break=postmount' to your kernel cmdline and look at the output of lsmod. Those are the modules you're using.

    many connections to pre-populate in the pool.Since when does "min-connections" pre-populate the pool?
    According to my observations, there are no database connections established when OC4J starts up. Connections are only created when necessary. As a matter of fact, I still haven't seen anything in the behaviour of OC4J to indicate that it doesn't totally ignore the "min-connections" attribute.
    [I have, on the other hand, seen that "max-connections" is taken into account by OC4J.]
