Are notes possible in Ical 5.0 running Lion

Is there any option for adding a detailed note to an event in Ical?  It seems that i'm limited to the amount of text in the event description.  How do  How

Greetings Haraigoshi,
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Region. Region should be set to the country of your choice. Do not have it set to "Custom" as this can have unexpected results in iCal.
If that does not help lets test in a new user account to determine if this issue is with iCal in this user only or systemwide:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon to unlock it, and type an administrator name and password.
Click Add "+" below the list of accounts.
Enter a full name for the account.
Enter the account password in the Password and Verify fields.
Click Create User.
Go to Apple menu > Log out.
Login to the new user and test iCal.
If the issue is systemwide:
SafeBoot and then test: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
Backup your data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
Restore Lion (which will reinstall iCal): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
If the issue is user specific:
1. Backup your data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
---NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion:
3. Launch iCal and test.
Hope that helps!

  • Events added on my iPhone are not syncing with iCal.  ios5 and Lion

I always have my iPhone handy and use it all the time to add my events.  I think it is easier to add them on the phone and easier to view on my MacBook Pro.  Anyway......... all the events I am adding on my iPhone stopped syncing to my iCal as soon as I installed ios5.  Is there a fix yet?  It is VERY annoying!!!

i figured it out.... before syncing your phone to your macbook or whatever:
    -go into settings
    -select icloud
    -go to calendars
-change the selector from ON to OFF
    -sync phone to computer
-ical syncing with phone will now work like it did before iOS5 and iCloud, but in a good way

  • I have downloaded an ical subscription. It appears on the sidebar as checked, but the data (holidays) are not recorded in Ical.  I tried re-downloading, but the same problem exists.

I have downloaded an ical subscription. It appears on the sidebar as checked, but the data (holidays) are not recorded in Ical.  I tried re-downloading, but the same problem exists. Can you assist?

    drjil,
It is possible that the subscription is not valid or up-to-date.
If you are looking for U.S. Holidays, here are three alternative choices besides Apple - Downloads - iCal Calendars - US Holiday Calendar.
    1. Welcome to iCalShare
    2. iCal World - Holiday Calendars by Country
    3. US Federal Holidays, ICS format, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.

  • Calendar invites are not possible

I am frustrated. Working with 10.8.5.Invites via ical are not possible. Is there anywhere a good and helpful manual which shows the different steps.
Once I enter the first letters of an mail address, than choosing the one from the pull down list it is always marked with a "?" question mark. Then I push the button "sent" or "refreh" button, but the person which should receive the invitation does not receives it, nor can I check whether the mail actually was sent.
Would be really interested in how to solve this problem
    Kind regards
    Gerhard

Sorry for the late reply, it is still an irritating issue.  Apple says it's Google's poblem.  Google thinks it's Apple's issue.  Extremly irritating.
I tried setting up the Calendar using the Exchange presets but that did not solve the invitation problem.

  • Why lables are not possible in smartforms.

  • Document is being distributed - changes are not possible

    Dear Guru's
I have an issue when making a quotation transaction. After i saved the quotation transaction, i would like to change the window into edit mode.
So i have to click the display or change button and then after i click that button, there is an message text   "<b>Document is being distributed - changes are not possible</b>" but after i wait for some minute, system still can not be change. and still appearing a message text "Document is being distributed - changes are not possible"
Please could u give some information about this issue?

The order in the CRM system remains in status 'to be distributed'
because it waits for an answer of the OLTP system that the order has
    been successfully saved.
The reason could be due to the following:
    1. Check in your system the delta download is active ?  Did you perform
an initial download of SALESDOCUMENTS ?
If you check in transaction R3AC4 there must be an entry for
SALESDOCUMENT to enable a successfull delta download.
Without a successful initial download of this object, no delta
download will be performed.  Please refer to the SETUP AND
DOWNLOAD guide you will find in the service market place
       http://service.sap.com
    2. Check if there are any ABAP Dumps related in OLTP ?  If yes, status
will always be in distributed as CRM is still waiting for a reply
       from OLTP.
    3. Check your inbound/outbound queues are working.
The note 490932 will help you to check your dataexchange
    customizing.
Please, reward points if it helps you.

  • Lightroom 5.6 Win8 64 import of some photos are not possible

Lightroom 5.6 Win8 64 import of some photos are not possible: the photos are grey, the file name of the photos are already excisting in the catalog, older different photos, don’t Import Suspected Duplicates is not selected. There is no difference selected or not, the photos (Import are not possible) are always grey with the notice: These photos would be already imported! All other photos could be imported and gets grey.

When Lightroom greys out a photo in the Import dialog box, it means the photo is already in the catalog. It doesn't mean that it is matched with an older photo with the same name ... in order for there to be a match, the file name and capture date and file size must be identical.
So Lightroom thinks you have already imported the photos, and you think the photos have not been imported. Now I'm sure you are a very nice person, but I believe Lightroom. What you need to do is to find the photos in your Library Module and use them there. The photos can be found by searching for them by file name, after turning off all filters, and after clicking on All PHotographs in the Library Module.

  • Popup saying RTC functions are not possible

    Hi,
i have portal ep6 sp10. After my server restart, i log on with an user id, and logoff. and When i login agian..the popup comes up and says that the user is logged on some where else, thus the Real time collaboraion functions are not possible. But i have successfully logged off previously.
Any one ran into this kind of scenario. Can you point me in right direction..I was guessing that previous logoff didn't kill the session. Where can i track the session of an user. Any suggestions are appreciated..
    thanks
    Chiru.

    Chiru -
You can check whether your user has a session open in the Visual Admin console.  Navigate to Server -> Services -> Security Provider -> Login Sessions.
If needed, you can terminate sessions by clicking on the pencil to change to write mode and them selecting the session and clicking on the Terminate Session button.
    Enjoy!

  • Some futures in bpel which are not possible with ESB and vice versa

Can anyone please tell me some futures in bpel which are not possible with ESB and For some features available in ESB that are absence in BPEL?

I think you've mistaken the meaning of both technologies. ESB actually works as a part of BPEL, for instance you can create partner link from any esb service.
ESB service can only expose data or retrieve and process (transform) them from another service. BPEL is using services like ESB as a source and adds decision making functionality which is not present in ESB.

  • Icons are not visible when the form is run

I develop a form with only a push button. I developed form using oracle 10DS. I have saved my form in application server. To see an icon in my button, i did the following things:
    1. In application server i made a jar named test.jar. It consists of just two gif images.
    2. I copied this jar in application server's \forms90\java directory
    3. I configured formsweb.cfg file as the following.
    4. my \form90\java\oracle\forms\registry\registry.dat is as the following.

I tried many times. But could not be successful. Then I just kept my icons in

without changing the name of the icon, then i always see the old icon. The new icon, i can not see.
Please, help me with only Oracle 10g AS how i can see icon in button. Let's assume, there is not oracle 10g DS (any development tool) in the machine where the form is run.
Please, guide me clearly step by step so that i might be successful.
    Thanks.

i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?
    Thx and Regards

  • Schedule lines are not coming for HALB after MRP run

    Dear All,
I am not getting schedule line after mrp run, inspite of all required setting only purchase requisitions are coming.
Material type is HALB and involve a subcontracting process (30). For raw material I am getting the schedule line but in the case of HALB, it is not coming.
Pls let me know if I am missing something and guide me further on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Hi,
In transaction OMDT you have to enable the indicator create schedule lines
In MD02 MRP control Prameter here select the Delivery schedules -3- Schedule line. Processing Key as NETCH and Planning Mode - 3 delted and recreated.
Maintain source list ME01, in that put MRP indicator as '2' i.e. schedule lines via MRP.Put your agreement no in that.
If u run MRP properly u will get schedule lines automatically in ME38.
Make the schedule agreement, make it source relevent in the source list make is FIX and MRP indicator as 3.

  • Check Proposal is Run but Checks are not Printed-need to cancel the run

The Accounts Payable Check Proposal is Run but Checks are not Printed- I need to cancel the run. How do I do this ?

    Restart
If the printer stops during printing, for example because of a power failure, you will need to restart
    the print program.
    1. To do this, choose System   Services   Reporting.
    2. Enter the name of the print program (RFFOUS_C) and select Program   Execute.
    3. Enter the data identifying the print run and enter the check number from which the
program should be restarted in the Restart field.
    4. Select Program   Execute again.
If there is a system crash during the print run but before any checks have been printed, you
    should proceed as follows:
    1. Correct the error that caused the system to crash.
    2. Delete the check information. To do this, choose Environment   Check information
    Delete   For payment run.
    3. Restart the print program but do not use the restart option described above.
If there is a system crash during the print run and some checks have already been printed, you
    should proceed as follows:
    1. Correct the error that caused the system to crash.
This error may occur, for example, when a check lot is used up and the next lot has not
been maintained. In this case, the first thing to do after the system crash is to enter a
new check lot. See: Maintaining Check Lots [Page 7]
    2. Delete the check information. To do this, choose Environment   Check information
    Delete   For payment run.
    3. Restart the print program but do not use the restart option described above.
    4. Delete the print output from the print management files.
    5. Now restart the print program, this time using the restart option, (see above).

  • In InDesign, my script timers are not activated while the script is running

Hello I have a utilioty plugin in InDesign which is done in ActionScript. This script is launched from inside the plugin dialogbox and does a long export operation. I'm trying to have a feedback of progression in the dialog box, while doing the export operation in the script.
The problem I have is : if I create a flash.utils Timer to refresh the display, it is not triggered while the script is running ! Only when the script gives back control to InDesign, the timer is triggered and refreshes the display. Therefore, my progressbar displays blind during work, and flashes to 100% at the end. Quite useless.
Does anybody know a way to get this working, apart from cutting the export operation in a few sub-operations which would be chained via successive timer events ?

I ask again though: are you really sure the system won't wake from sleep to run maintenance scripts? The time in all of the logs from Onyx, from Maintidget and from the command prompt all say that the scripts are running at 3am(ish) for the daily and weekly scripts, and 5am(ish) for the monthly script - all times that my system is in sleep mode.
Well, that is the information from Apple - I am not about to stay up all night to check it . FWIW, if those scripts are missed, the computer will not implode - I usually prefer to shut mine down and in that case, the scripts have to be run manually. I do that about once a month (or when I remember to do it)  and have been doing that for many years without any ill effects. Mac OS does not need the maintenance other systems do.

  • JPA Generic entities classes Mappedsuperclass are not possible!

    Hi,
I have came to understand this:
You can use generics with fields in a class, but you cannot make the class generic or a collection in a generic form. I hope that I stated what I wanted correctly.
This is the normal generics known to JPA!
    public class MyEntity{
    @OneToMany
List<OtherEntity> others; But the next is not allowed!
    public class MyEntity<T extends OtherEntity>{
    @OneToMany List<T> other;
}Please comment on this if this is true or false, as I have encountered this error while trying the same!

No you will be unable to make the Entities generic. The provider will be unable to map the relationship to the specific type defined by the generic definition as this type is assigned when the Entity is created in code not where the Entity is defined. Remember when designating Generics the Collection (in this case) is limited only to those types. The Provider can not possibly be this restrictive on a per Entity instance basis. In some cases changing the type may result in entirely different tables being mapped for a single Entity instance and that is definitely not supported.
Having said that this is a pretty poor exception that I will file a bug for.
