Are RAW files from the Lumix LX7 supported in PSE10?

Hi, is it possible to open a RAW-file from the new Lumix LX7 with Elements 10?

In the meantime you could use the 7.2 DNG Converter Beta to convert your files to dng copies which pse 10 should open:
Note: you want the 7.2 dng converter beta not the 7.2 camera raw plugin beta

The answer to your question is currently "no."  Nobody here can say if or when that will change.

  • Can I make Aperture 3.4.5 read the RAW files from a Lumix GX7?

I had an LX7 - RAW support no problem. Just got my lovely GX7 and native Aperture RAW support for this camera doesn't exist. I can't upgrade from OS 10.7.5 or Aperture 3.4.5 as I'm on a 2007 MacPro. Does anyone know of a plug-in or other way to make Aperture 3.4.5 display the RAW files from the GX7? I really don't want to have to use Silkypix again...

The Tech Specs for the Raw support are contradictory:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
says Aperture 3.4 or later required for your camera, but the Compatibility Update 5.01 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1706) says Mac OS X 10.8.5 or later.
Have you tried to download and install the update?
Does anyone know of a plug-in or other way to make Aperture 3.4.5 display the RAW files from the GX7?
I don't think that is possible, since Aperture will convert images to tiff or psd, when sending them to plug-ins and external editors. And that requires, that Aperture can process the raw.
I really don't want to have to use Silkypix again...
I am using Adobe's dng converter for my unsupported Lumix raws. But I cannot check, if it will process your GX7 files.

Does Photoshop Elements support raw files from the Panasonic GH3 camera?

Yes, if you have PSE 11 (not the mac app store version). You will need to go to Help>Updates in the editor to update ACR to 7.3.

Only Apple knows. The never announce upcoming RAW support in advance, sorry. And if anybody knew, it would not be allowed to post this information here.

  • Adobe camera raw 4.6 and nikon raw files from the d700

when opening a nikon raw file from the new d700, the picture appeares almost 1 step brighter than if you open the same picture in nikons capture nx2 software. the same happens when you do so with the new camera raw support in apples aperture - also almost 1 step to bright.

    >I expected that a raw file shows up the same in every raw-converter.
Your expectation is wrong. Every RAW converter will give you a different interpretation of the data. There is no single accepted way of interpreting RAW.
    >shouldn't that be so?
Not really. I think what makes RAW so interesting is that you are not tied to the camera maker's interpretation of the data. This gives one far more versatility to get to your desired result. Of course, if you prefer the camera maker's interpretation, youu can use their software to develop the RAW or you can use the beta profiles in ACR/Lightroom and get
close to identical rendering. I don't know if Adobe released any beta camera profiles for the D700 yet though.

Clarification: this is a user forum; you are not addressing Adobe here.
The answer to your question as phrased is: never.
CS5 is history and it is not longer supported.  There will not be any updates or bug fixes for CS5.
You need to convert the raw NEF files from your D810 to raw DNGs using the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 RC (beta), the first version ever to support that camera..

  • Plans to enable import of Cinema DNG (RAW) files from the Blackmagic POCKET Cinema Camera

Are there plans to enable import of Cinema DNG (RAW) files from the Black Magic POCKET Cinema Camera into Adobe Premiere Pro CS6?

There won't be any new features introduced in CS6, only some bug fixes if ever. All new features go into CC. Rumour has it that Camera RAW will be added into PrPro (sooner or later).
Off topic question: have you tried to convert BMPCC CinemaDNG files into DNG via Adobe DNG Converter? Resulting files are about 15% larger, so I hope that is what constitutes uncompressing them and making possible to import into PrPro CC natively (I'm not on CC, hence can't test, but I'm curious).

  • When will there be an update for RAW files from the new Olympus OM-D E-M10 for Lightroom 4?

    Hello there,
when will there be an update for Lightroom 4 which provides the option to import RAW-files from the Olympus OM-D E-M10 directly into LR4?

Lightroom 5.0 came out in June 2013 with a public beta for LR5 available at Adobe Labs back in April 2013.  It seems you may have been unlucky purchasing the old version just before the new version came out, or perhaps LR5 required a minimum OS level your computer didn’t have.
Purchasing a new version every year isn’t necessary, but you do have to buy a new version whenever you buy an unsupported camera.
Adobe employees need to get paid just like the rest of us, and their releasing a new payfor version every so often is how they get paid.
Never mind that the new version has improvements beyond new camera support, so there was a full development-release-training-marketing effort behind it.
The upgrade price is cheaper than the full purchase price and if you want Photoshop capabilities, there is a LR+PS Photographer’s Bundle that is half the price of purchasing Photoshop, itself:

  • Reading Raw files from the D7000

I recently purchased a Nikon D7000 & shot some pics in the Raw format.  However, when I went to download them into my Photoshop Elements 8 to edit them, I learned, to my dismay that Elements 8 won't read the D7000's Raw file formats!  The program read the RAW files from the Nikon D90 just fine, but won't recognize them from my D7000.  I am VERY upset about this & am hoping for a rememedy ASAP.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

All camera makers like to make slight changes to the RAW format for their new models. Adobe then take a few months to produce a camera RAW plug-in to process the new format.
In the case of the D7000, the first version of the camera RAW was ACR 6.3 - unfortunately this was not available for PSE8, only PSE 9 and later.
I think your only options are-
    1) upgrade PSE - a word of caution, there may be a new version out later this year (Aug/Sep by normal timescale's)
    2) download the free DNG converter and convert the NEFs to DNGs and then process them as normal (will open in ACR)
By the way, don't shoot the messenger, I'm a user like yourself just trying to helpful. Adobe staff do look here sometimes but it's mainly users.

  • Does Lightroom support RAW files from the Sony RX-100M2?

I use LR 4.4 with my Sony A-77 and Sony A-100.  I just purchased a Sony RX-100M2.  My current version of LR (LR 4.4) doesn't recognize the RAW files from my new RX-100M2.  Will I have to upgrade to LR version 5?  Will that even help?
    Thanks.

Support appears to be preliminary:  There is no RX100M2 Adobe Profile and the camera is not listed as being supported, so while it is true that you can open the M2 files in LR5, the colors appear slightly off and dimmer than for the RX100(M1).  I suspect Adobe may have given preliminary support by using the RX100(M1) profile for the RX100M2 but hopefully the support improves with the next version of LR5 comes out, hopefully later this week:
Here is a thread discussing the differences and some sample ARW files from both the M1 and M2:
