Are Satellite C650D power supplies interchangeable?

I have 2 satellite laptops, a C650D with N17908 power supply (19v 3.42A) & a L750 with a N179081 power supply(19v 3.95A).
Are these power supplies interchangable between the 2 laptops? or would I create a problem. The main difference seems to be the output current rating.
Thanks, Mooky

I think you can use it without problems. There is no big difference between AC power devices.
Ive done it several times in the past using AC adaptor from my friend when I was visiting him.
I forgot my AC adapter and used him to load my Toshi.

  • Are iMac G4 power supplies interchangeable?

I have 2 iMac G4s: an 800 MHz 15", and a 17" 1.25 GHz. The 17" power supply is bad, and I was wondering if the 15" power supply would be adequate if I stuck it in the 17" one.
    Thoughts? WIll it work?
    Thanks in advance.

Not likely. The widescreen resolutions of the 17" would mean very different requirements for the graphics chip on the logicboard.  I would enquire an authorized service provider that has been around long enough to know the difference.

well just wanted too update ya'll on this new psu it seems too run great although the second fan in it is a upduct and it is interfering with my cooling setup voltages all seem normal on it nothing too low or tyoo high and they are ver steady voltages too not alot of jumping
fair warning though the cables on this psu are kinda short compared too most although that did help too clear up the mad net of cables i had runnin all over my case
my friends system which has the other one in it is running great he has a 1700 t-bred and a fic au13 nforce2 board and he is solid and stable at 2200mhz 11x200
im so jealous as he has a better case than me that allows better cooling and a water setup
well that's my update for now will keep ya posted in the future
all in all seems like a very nice power supply

  • CISCO 3945 Router - ARE POWER SUPPLIES LOAD BALANCED?

CISCO 3945 Routers - Are the 3945 Router power supplies load balanced by default?
We are trying to determine if our switch/server rack at our remote location has maxed out it's power load requirements.  I just need to know if the 3945 power supplies load balance by default or if the redundant power supply is ON but not really providing the router with power and is just there incase the other power supply fails - Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I had read that the "Cisco 3845 and 3845-NOVPN router accommodates two hot-swappable power supplies and a single power supply meets router requirements. The second power supply provides redundancy, load sharing, and increased router availability. Either power supply can be removed without affecting router operation. Any combination of two power supplies is permitted."
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any specific information for the 3900 series routers that stated it also load balanced power.
Follow-up question: Do you know if the 3800 series routers load share by default? I know it is capable of power load sharing based on the above description but do they load share equally by default? If that's the case for the 3800's then hopefully that's the case for the 3900'S series routers. Which means, we have not maxed out our power requirements in our racks.

  • Control eight 200mA power supplies

I need to control about eight 200mA power supplies.  Each supply should be programmable from minus
30 volts to plus 30 volts.  I need to be
able to sequence the outputs (have one output go to 5V, next another output go
to 8V, etc.).  The next thing I need is
to output a serial data stream of about 10 bits.
My test case would be the following:
Sequence several of the outputs to different voltages, this
puts the ASIC I am testing into the mode I need. Then I need to have one of the
power supplies output a serial 10 bit word to load a register inside the ASIC.
Does anybody know if this could be done with a DAQ-card?

    Hi Gary,
M Series DAQ cards provide a very flexible tool.  You can have Digital Input and Output, Analog Input and Analog Output.  The question is how are you going to control the Power Supplies?  Do they take digital commands, or can you input an analog voltage as centerbolt mentioned?  If you do need an analog output to control the power supply, then the standard multifunction DAQ cards will not work for you, because they only have at the most 4 analog outputs.  There are dedicated Analog output cards that could provide this functionality.
The other idea is that you want the DAQ card to be your power supplies for you.  If that is the case then that would greatly change what you require from the card, and no single card will be able to do that for you.  Finally how does the power supply output a 10 bit serial word, is that inherent in a piece of hardware you already have, and if so how do you tell it to make that output. Please get back to me and we can probably find a solution that would work for you.

  • Willl these power supplies work with Athlon64?

    Hi.
The pc i'm going to build is:
    Athlon 64 3000 (or maybe 3400  )
    MSI k8t-neo fis2r
    2 x 512mb kingston valueram
    HD hitachi 7k250 sata 160gb
    9800pro
    dvd-rom + cd-rw (or dvd-rw)
My question is: will these 2 power supplies work fine?
    1) CODEGEN-IPERTEK 450W
    +3,3V 20 A
    +5V 40A
    +12V 16A
    2) Techsolo TP - 500
    +3,3V 28 A
    +5V 38A
    +12V 17A
    Thank you!

Ok, you convinced me to buy its "bigger brother"
My last question is, which one of these 2?
    1) Enermax EG475AX-VE SFMA (470w) I think it's the one of this review: http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/cases/Enermax_EG475AX-VE_1.html
    2) Enermax EG465AX-VE FMA (460W) http://www.computex.com.tw/detail_productmain.asp?index=03061&pcode=M0200&show=oneproduct&pname=EG465AX-VE+FM+(24P)
Which one should I buy? I would prefer the first one cause it's easier to get and it also has 2 sata connectors, but my doubts are:
It's a noisetaker, is it good?
It's dual 12V rails, with + 12,0V(1) = 16A and + 12,0V(2) = 15A. Do you think it's a problem if it's dual rails? I't's better if it is single single rail like the second one?
    Thank you

  • Satellite C650D - CPU usage is jumping around

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C650D 2 months ago, and I used the Windows 7 that came with it thinking it was all fine and dandy until some days ago, it started getting random lag spikes.
At first it just occured when watching movies (tried 4 different programs, reinstalled all driver, scanned for malware, defragged, you name it) then it started happening outside the movie-viewing aswell. That did it for me, and I installed Windows XP. I've done so 3 times now, clean installs of Windows XP. At first it seemed fine. For some hours, then it started lagging really bad, not like in Windows 7, but CPU usage is jumping around in the boundaries between 1% and 99% randomly, but there is no processes taking it!
It lags whatever I do, just opening notepad can make it jump. I figured it would work with a clean format, but noo, of course the problem reoccured. It could perhaps be drivers, seing as the problems in Windows 7 and XP are somewhat different. I'm at my wits ends here on what to do, anything would be helpful.

  • High mortality of Cisco Linksys power supplies.

Hi experts, we have an high mortality of Cisco Linksys Power supplies used for SPA2102 and WRP400. The duration varies between 8 months to 12 months.
The power supply model is 5V 2A PSM 11 R.
What is the cause in your opinion?
Could be related to electrical ring value configured?
This is our setting according to regional raccomandation:
    Regards.

    Hello Daniele,
There is no known issue with the power supplies of the SPA2102/WRP400.
Reasons why a power supply is failing can be manifold.
    Brownouts, blackouts, environmental reasons.
Your settings are looking ok, around the default values.
And they are lower than what is used in other parts of the world.

  • Monitoring Power Supplies in Prime Infrastructure 2.1

    Hi,
Prime Infrastructure is capable of monitoring the power supplies from Cisco devices? Where can I see this feature on PI 2.1? is there any option to enable this, if it's capable?
    Thanks

    There are two options :
    1. You poll the devices for Power supply and see the report based on it.
    2. You can configure your devices for environment traps and the device will send traps to PI which can be used as an alert/Alarm in PI.
Envmon traps in Cisco devices can be configured using snmp-server enable traps envmon command.
This command enables or disables Environmental Monitor (EnvMon) status notifications for supported systems. Cisco enterprise EnvMon notifications are triggered when an environmental threshold is exceeded. If none of the optional keywords are specified, all available environmental notifications are enabled.
When the shutdown keyword is used, a ciscoEnvMonShutdownNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3.1) is sent if the environmental monitor detects a testpoint reaching a critical state and is about to initiate a shutdown.
When the voltage keyword is used, a ciscoEnvMonVoltageNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3.2) is sent if the voltage measured at a given testpoint is outside the normal range for the testpoint (that is, at the warning, critical, or shutdown stage). For access servers, this notification is defined as the caemVoltageNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.61.2.2).
When the temperature keyword is used, a ciscoEnvMonTemperatureNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3.3) is sent if the temperature measured at a given testpoint is outside the normal range for the testpoint (i.e. is at the warning, critical, or shutdown stage). For access servers, this notification is defined as the caemTemperatureNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.61.2.1).
When the fan keyword is used, a ciscoEnvMonFanNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3.4) is sent if any one of the fans in a fan array fails.
When the supply keyword is used, a ciscoEnvMonRedundantSupplyNotification (enterprise MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.2.5) is sent if a redundant power supply fails.
For a complete description of these notifications and additional MIB functions, see the CISCO-ENVMON-MIB.my and CISCO-ACCESS-ENVMON-MIB.my files, available on Cisco.com at http://www.cisco.com/public/mibs/v2/.
Status of the Environmental Monitor can be viewed using the show environment command.
The snmp-server enable traps envmon command is used in conjunction with the snmp-server host command. Use the snmp-server host command to specify which host or hosts receive SNMP notifications. To send SNMP notifications, you must configure at least one snmp-server host command.

  • Does Dual Power supplies means Load sharing also..

    Hi
Wanted to understand how power supply redundancy works in SUN servers .
Is it really 1 to 1 Failback redundancy ( One active and other online but not in use)
    or
it is sharing some load ( if yes is it 50% each)
This will help us in making our data center's power requirements.
    Pls respond
    Thanks
    AN

There is no single correct answer.
You will need to read the documentation for each system, model by model.
The manuals will describe how the PSU's function
    (independant-with-failover versus N+1 versus 2N+1, etc)
For example, in an E6900 you configure power supplies per physical domain and not per chassis.
Start with the Sun System Handbook.
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub
Find the system you are curious about.
Select the "Related Documentation" link on its resource page.
    Read whatever is available.

  • Rack design for two ONS 15454's and two 15540-PWR-AC power supplies...

Review the AC/DC Power Solution Data Sheet:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6063/products_data_sheet0900aecd801a002a.html
    Per the Data Sheet...
The Medium will power 1x 15454
The Large will power 2x 15454
    A few things to note...
    1. The Power Solution can possibly power more 454s based on the actual power draw of the nodes.
    2. There are only 4 circuit breakers on the Large expansion panel. A & B power for 2 454s.
    3. It is recommended 454s have 30A fuses/breakers per power source. This can change based on the actual hardware config.
    4. You could possibly use the 15A GMT fuses.
    5. You could possibly incorporate an external PDU for additional fuses.

  • Compact daq multiple power supplies into analog input

I'm trying to read several values from different sensors into a 9205 voltage input module using a compact DAQ.  My sensors use different power supplies, they all output voltage between 0-10Vdc.  I can read the value off of any one sensor fine, but once I hook up another both values start to shift and osscillate, however either one by themselves gives me a steady DC value.  I am taking differential measurements from the sensor's outputs... I'm not sure if it would be ok to tie the grounds of the two power supplies together and feed them to my ground reference input of the module, if I take a voltage measurement between the two power supply grounds I see about 1Volt difference.
    Any ides/suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    M.

    Hi,
I have been looking at the sensors you are using and the pins seem to be correct so I just want to make sure that we are on the same page with the connections you are making.  This is assuming you have a spring terminal on your daq card rather than a DSUB.
    Humidity Sensor - Pin 3 or 4 (CHn+) to AI0 (Pin 1) and Pin 6 (SGND) to AI8 (19)
    CO2 Sensor - V to AI1 (pin 2) and 0 to AI9 (Pin 20).
In your software you should then be taking a differential voltage reading on AI0 and AI1.
Assuming that is all correct then this is very strange.  The wiring diagrams suggest that the signals are ground referenced so this should be sufficient however the 1V difference in the ground lines is perculiar if they are plugged into the similar place.  although the differential reading will eliminate error due to this one consideration is that if they are floating you may need to add bias resistors.  You can find out more about this here.  As I said it doesn't appear that this should be required but is worth a go if you have the kit to try it.
Otherwise it might be useful if you can send me some screenshots of the behavior on the graphs and perhaps your code and we can see if that helps.  Also if you are able to verify the functioning of your sensors some other way would also be useful i.e. with a multimeter.

  • Difference between iPad 7 iPod power supplies

I am trying to figure out which of my power supplies is the 10W iPad one. Is there any external markings? How about a little green dot I see on one of the supplies?

I think the model number is A1365. The Apple website uses a model designation A1357 appears in a MacForums post. I various Apple power supplies, some are 1" x 1" cube and others (like the MacBook one) is 1" x 2" x 2" approx. Do you know which size it is? I tried the big one and my iPhone and iPad both seem comfortable with it.

  • OEM vs 3rd party power supplies

I'm interested in others' experiences with the relative quality of Lenovo and third-party power supplies, particularly with 20 volt, 90 watt supplies (e.g. for the T410).
I'm about to shop for a second power supply to use with a docking station. Price isn't my first consideration, but if buying a third party power supply will save me a few dollars without sacrificing quality, I'll do it. If any of the third party supplies are actually better than Lenovo supplies, I'd consider paying a premium.
If I do get a third party supply, are there any particular brands to look for, or look out for?

There have been reports of problems with 3rd party AC adapters, especially the sort you find on eBay or order direct from some supplier in China. You can get used genuine Lenovo AC adapters inexpensively at any store that sells used or refurbished PCs. I wouldn't try to save money on 3rd party AC adapters or batteries for that matter. It's not worth the risk.
