Are some serial numbers alike? iTouch stolen.

My iTouch was stolen about 2 months ago. Anyways, a guy that I know brought around his iTouch yesterday and it had the same screen protector that I had and bought in New York. Well, I look at the gb's and it is 32gb, like mine was. Moreover, I look at the serial number and record only the first six numbers of it in a rush because I didn't want to cause any suspicions of my suspicions. I should have taken the whole number down but i did not , sadly.
Lo and behold, I get home, find my package box and look at the serial number. The first six numbers of the serial number are the exact same match. So my main question is, can it be a coincidence that the first six numbers of the serial number match or is it the same iTouch? I don't want to accuse him without knowing that it is my stolen iTouch. Thanks!

The serial number consists of 11 digits and letters. Since the first five characters of the serial number encode factory & manufacture year & week it's quite possible that another iPod could have the same first six characters.
If what you are looking at consists of all digits then it isn't a serial number.

  • Where are the serial numbers?

I just bought the family pack of Snow Leopard, and I'm a little confused why I did. There aren't any serial numbers. For all I can tell, I could have installed this on 100 computers. Is there some serial number built into the DVD so they are keeping track of where these get installed? Otherwise I feel like I got scammed out of $20, and could have just bought the $30 edition...

It's the Apple way. And allot of us like that.
When I upgrade to 10.6 I don't need to pull out my 10.0,10.1,10.2,10.3,10.4 and 10.5 serial numbers.
Also if I'm in a pinch and I need to reinstall on the road I don't need to worry about finding past serial numbers in order to install.
I can't begin to try and remember where all my serial numbers are for Windows. As a matter of fact I've lost so many **** install disks its wrong. What's worse is that when I need a disk for a particular model I can't find it. And an HP disk wont reinstall onto a Dell. This has caused me way too much frustration in the past.
With Apple, I buy the disk, Make a copy onto my hard drive and I always have a copy around if one fails. If I loose the one for my laptop the same one will restore my desktop.
So while there are people who will rip off Apple the $20 it saves everyone else added aggravation when the rare circumstance arises that mandate an reinstall.
And for that *Thank you Apple!*

  • Where are the Serial Numbers for T410 and Mini Dock Series 3?

I recently called the support line, and between the young ladies on the phone and me, we couldn't find them anywhere!  There are lots of other numbers, but we couldn't find anything with an SN, S/N etc.  And why (Lenovo engineers, I'm looking at you!) do the numbers have to be in such tiny font and of a color that blends in so well with the color of the computer or device?  There is an entire laptop bottom to use, I'm sure there's enough room to put numbers that can be more easily read  wtihout having to resort to magnifying glasses.
At any rate, someone, please tell me where they hid the serial numbers on these two pieces of equipment?
Also, I apologize for sticking this post in an existing, not-exactly-the-same-topic thread, but I couldn't find any sort of "create new thread" button anywhere.  I also did a search, and while there were posts on how to find the serial numbers on other models, I couldn't find one for the  T410.
    Thanks so much ,in advance.

Using the mini dock series 3 you don't have to undock to remove the computer. So it's not like when using the advanced mini dock where you had to undock before the computer can be removed. That is why you don't have the undock option under the start menu or undock options in easy eject when connected to the mini dock since you don't have to undock.
If you don't use Access Connections the wireless radio will not be turned off when connected to the network using a cable. If you use Access Connections you should check that a profile have actually been applied and also the settings to allow the radio to be turned off.
Since you get network access through the docking it sounds like it's working fine. Is the monitor connected to the docking working as well?

  • Serial numbers via sql query

    Hi,
I'm having trouble getting the correct serial numbers via SQL.
From PHP I run the following query to get the Delivery Notes:
    select ODLN.DocEntry,ODLN.CardCode,ODLN.CardName,ODLN.DocDueDate,ODLN.DocDate,ODLN.NumAtCard,NNM1.SeriesName,ODLN.DocNum,ODLN.SlpCode,ODLN.CANCELED,ODLN.DocStatus,DLN1.ItemCode,DLN1.Dscription,DLN1.Quantity,DLN1.ShipDate,DLN1.LineStatus,ODLN.NumAtCard,ODLN.U_CodSit,ODLN.DocTotal,ODLN.DocCur,ODLN.CreateDate,ODLN.TrackNo,DLN1.SerialNum from ODLN INNER JOIN NNM1 ON (ODLN.Series = NNM1.Series) INNER JOIN OCRD ON (ODLN.CardCode = OCRD.CardCode AND OCRD.CardCode = '".$_POST["sapcode"]."' AND OCRD.Password = '".$_POST["sappwd"]."') INNER JOIN DLN1 ON ODLN.DocEntry = DLN1.DocEntry ORDER BY ODLN.CreateDate DESC,ODLN.DocEntry ASC
While I loop through the results I then try to grab the serial numbers. I tried this:
    SELECT OSRI.IntrSerial FROM OSRI INNER JOIN SRI1 ON ( (SRI1.SysSerial = OSRI.SysSerial) AND (SRI1.BaseNum = ".$row['DocNum'].") ) INNER JOIN DLN1 ON (DLN1.DocEntry = SRI1.BaseEntry) WHERE ( (DLN1.DocEntry = ".$row['DocEntry'].") AND (DLN1.ItemCode = OSRI.ItemCode) AND (DLN1.ItemCode = '".$row['ItemCode']."') ) ORDER BY OSRI.IntrSerial
but it gives me incoherent results compared to what appears in the SAP b1 client. For ex., some serial numbers are fine but in other cases I get more serial numbers than accounted for (article quantity = 1 but get 2 serial numbers; in SAP B1 client only one of the two serial numbers appears, as expected).
So I then modified the query and added a check for the CardCode:
    SELECT OSRI.IntrSerial FROM OSRI INNER JOIN SRI1 ON ( (SRI1.SysSerial = OSRI.SysSerial) AND (SRI1.BaseNum = ".$row['DocNum'].") AND (SRI1.CardCode = '".$_POST["sapcode"]."') ) INNER JOIN DLN1 ON (DLN1.DocEntry = SRI1.BaseEntry) WHERE ( (OSRI.CardCode = '".$_POST["sapcode"]."') AND (DLN1.DocEntry = ".$row['DocEntry'].") AND (DLN1.ItemCode = OSRI.ItemCode) AND (DLN1.ItemCode = '".$row['ItemCode']."') ) ORDER BY OSRI.IntrSerial
This query is slightly better in the sense that at least I don't get serial numbers that are not supposed to be there (eg. if quantity=1 I will not get 2 serial numbers as in the previous query). However, in some cases it works as expected and in other delivery notes it doesn't because it simply doesn't list the serial numbers (which where found in the first query).
It might be because the CardCode field isn't always thoroughly set?
If so, is it just a "user problem" so I should tell my company to review the way they fill SAP data?
Or am I doing the wrong query?
(The SDK doc regarding OSRI is confusing as it doesn't even point to SRI1 and I don't fully understand the relationships)
    Regards,
    Vieri

    Vieri,
you can catch (using MS SQL Profiler) the query which is executed by SBO once you click on serial nambers report from Delivery Note form.
this is one of the ways to get a solution quickly.

  • My serial numbers and activation codes don't work

Hey, anybody out there?  My serial numbers and activation codes don't work and I don't see anyway, through your menus to reach a PERSON!!
    Michelle
    Not much happening out there.

    Try the following:
    Visit www.adobe.com
Click the MENU link near the upper-right
Click the ABOUT ADOBE link near the upper-right
    Click the Contact Us link.
There are some phone numbers there you could try.  I imagine if you call Sales and say you're having a problem they might be able to transfer you to a support line, though I haven't tried it myself.
I don't think there's much help we can give you here on the forum with that particular problem, unfortunately.

  • Serial Numbers with the licence

    Hello,
I just purchased a licence to use all services from Adobe for students. But when I'm trying to open PhotoShop, Illustrator ans InDesign, it doesn't work and ask me some serial numbers..
But when I'm using it with Adobe Muse, it works very well.
So what am I doing wrong?
Thank you by advance for your answer !

I don't think you can change the serial numbers of NI hardware.
You could read the serial number of the hardware, concatenate it with a private string, then compute the MD5 hash using the function
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\Utility\MD5Checksum.llb\MD5Checksum string.vi
Now is the right time to use %^<%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%3uZ>T

  • Delete serial numbers

How can I delete serial numbers?
    Sincerely,
    Ketan

    Hi Ketan,
I am also dealing with seial numbers in my current project and had this problem that if i want to delete some serial numbers which are scrapped over the period of time but could not find any option for th is in SAP.
What I am doing i have created a scrap storage location in one of the planst and when ever i have to get rid of any serial number i transfer post it using movement type 313 to this scrap storage location then i go to IQ02 and change the system status to Flagged for Deletion and In active. With this system status this serial number can no longer be used untill the system status is changed again using the same transaction IQ02.
There is another field called user status which does have an option of scrap status but its not activated in the standard SAP so you need to speak to the ABAPer and find out how you can activate it.
I hope the reply is helpful to you.

  • Tiger/Leopard serial numbers for install?

hey all...had a curious question...so there are no serial numbers for Leopard, and I am assuming there were none for Tiger as well. My g/f and I bought a 5-pack family license tonight because we thought it would come with 5 serials for out MB,MBPro and iMac...we would just have the 2 extras for whatever...my question is,IS there some key embedded in the install disc that phones home during/after install to verify that the disc is a legitimate copy? I am getting ready to sell my pbook G4, and thought it might be a good selling point to put Leopard on it before i sold it, and kept the original Leopard disc...would this have any repercussions on the buyer after it leaves my hands, aside from if they ever re-format/re-install, they dont have a Leopard disc? How does apple know whether I have a 1-license disc or a 5-license(family pack) disc?

Apple mainly relies on your honesty with the installations. No serial numbers and no Genuine Advantage checks.
But there may be issues when you onsell your PowerBook with Leopard and the ser wants to re-install. They may be stuck with the 10.2 or 10.3 (whatever one) that came with your PowerBook.

  • CS5.5 Student/Teacher Serial Numbers--Premiere/AfterEffects CS4?

I recently bought CS5.5 Master Collection, Student and Teacher Licensing.  I was able to input the required information on the web site to get the serial numbers.  The resulting screen gave three:  Master Collection, Premiere Pro, and AfterEffects.
I'm not quite sure my current computer has a graphics capability to accommodate the CS5.5 versions of either and I would like to install the CS4 versions (I'm away from home, and my home desktop is DEFINITELY not up to snuff; I plan on upgrading that machine to be compatible as it is also my only RAID setup).  My question is:  are the serial numbers provided via the website for the CS4 versions of Premiere Pro and AfterEffects, or are those required to install the CS5.5 versions (i.e. those two programs require separate serial-number input from the remainder of CS5.5)?  I know previous threads in the forums deal with a 32-bit support kit, but my current computer is running Win7 64-bit--I am just unsure of the graphics capability; had to buy this laptop in a pinch when my previous one unexpectedly died a few weeks ago.
I haven't installed anything yet; waiting to make sure I understand what serials go to which versions before jumping in and potentially messing up the install.  I currently run CS3 and plan on fully uninstalling before starting the CS5.5 install.

    Hi Boomer,
Everything within the CS5.5 suite would run under a single serial number, the one for MC that you received...  The other keys would be for the separate 32-bit CS4 versions of AE and PP.  And you can use all of them on up to two of your computers.
Lastly, you don't have to uninstall CS3 if you don't want to - it can run it side-by-side with CS4/CS5 if that helps, or you could uninstall it if you like.  If you do remove it, you might want to use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool afterwards, just in case.
Hope this answers all your questions - if not, just post back!

  • Erasing serial numbers for material

    Hi
can anyone help me out with the following?
pls tell me how can we erase some serial numbers of a particular material?

    Hi,
You cann't remove the serial no which is assigned to the material.
You can modify the serial no which is already assigned to that material.
If you had entered the wrong serial number and want to change the serial number
goto Transaction -IQ02. Enter the material and correct serial number.
then in Edit --> Special Serial No Functions --> Change Serial No
    save the material number

  • Stock with serial numbers

    Hi,
Is there any standard report for which gives us the details of stock and related serial number for a set of materials. If not, kindly give me pointers towards the tables to be accessed for generating a query.
    regards
    Kiki

Thanx Bala.  I am aware of MMBE TC.  There i get for only one material.  I need to know for a set of materials.  The requirement is like this,  the client wants to know what are all the materials having serial number profile and what is the stock status for the same and if stock is avl, is it stored with respect to the serial numbers and what are the serial numbers and the count of stock which does not have serial numbers.  The client wants it in one single TC.  I know there is no such standard TC avl in SAP.  I would want to make a query and assign a TC to the same.  In this context i was searching for the table which holds this serial number details.  The stock can be got from MARD and the serial no profile from MARC.  I am not able to locate the table for serial numbers.  Any pointers for this would be highly appreciated.

  • Batch and serial numbers in Crystal Document Layouts

I am attempting to write a set of document layouts using Crystal reports namely, Sales Order, AR Invoice (Items), Delivery Note. The stock items are either serial numbered items or batch numbered. I need to display the serial numbers or batch numbers on the Delivery Note, but cannot find a suitable link to the tables where the serial number/batch numbers are stored.
I have identified the following tables as likely candidates for use in the document layout, but cannot see how I might join them to the ODLN or DLN1 tables:
For the Batch Numbers OBTN; ITL1 and ILM1
For the Serial Numbers OSRN and views OSRI; SRI1 and SRI1_LINK.
Does anyone know or have suggestions on how to link these (or other?) tables to the DLN1? Thanks in advance
    David

From memory, the link needs to be to SRI1 joined on Base Doc Type, Doc Entry / Base Doc entry, Item Code & row / line num (for serial numbers anyway...)

  • Reg: Serial Numbers

    Hi All,
I need few inputs on Serial Numbers.
we are assigning serial numbers to the production orders.
Usually we were allocating Serial number at the time MIGO_GO(GR) in serial number tab , instead of CO01 screen in order header at the time of order creation. Now for one of the material after creating the production order at the time of saviing the system is asking maintain serial Number.we dont want to assign serial number at the time of order creation ,we will be assigning at the time of Production GR(MIGO). For one of the sales order i am facing this problem .
    Please let me know..the solution

    Dear,
    > i am facing this issue, for only this material and we create many production orders earlier.
Compare the serial number profile assigned for the material in which you are facing this problem with the serial number profiles assigned to the earlier material where you never experienced this.
Then go to OIS2 and make the suitable changes as mentioned earlier.
