Are the Help pages supposed to look this way?

I think I may have one something to foul up the fonts - ? If I did, anyone know how to reduce them to original size?

Well, I'm not much further ahead, but someone else reading this may be.
Here's your screen shot, overlaid by results of the same search done in Tiger (OS X v10.4.x) on my iBook
Leopard (OS X v10.5.x) looks much the same, with blue stripes behind alternate items in the list. Although the article titles look about the same size, they may be quite different, going by the size of the red amber and green gumdrops—yours look about half the diameter of mine.
The main difference is the extra line of grey type between the titles. The first one is the same as the first line on the "Formatting specific chart types" page in Help. The others aren't (or at least do not match the first lines of the articles in the version of Help that I see).
No idea where the setting (if any) that caused this is located. Up to Tiger, the help viewer was a separate application and had its own menu bar, but even then there was no Preferences item in the application menu. In Leopard (and, I assume in Snow Leopard), the Help (viewer) window appears as a floating window without an associated set of menubar menus.
The Tools button (gear) in the Help window's toolbar contains menu items to make text larger or smaller, but while these work on the article pages (and seem to hold their setting when moving from one article to another), they appear to have no effect on the search results page.
Two further questions: Does this happen ONLY with Numbers Help, or are other Help files affected in a similar manner? (Would indicate whether the problem lies with the Help viewer system rather than the Numbers Help file.) Does it happen if the Help files are accessed through a different User Account? (Would indicate whether the problem is associated with your account or with the system.)
I'm thinking this is more an OS X issue than a Numbers one. If you haven't received an answer by sometime tomorrow, I'd suggest reposting the question (with all the details placed here so far) in one of the forums in the Mac OS X v10.6 (Leopard) section of Discussions.
