Are the rumors true?

Hi There -
I heard rumors that Apple was coming out with something I've wanted for a long time and was wondering if this were true: is Apple coming out with portable laptop displays? I do video editing on the run on my 15" G4 and having another display in the car or hotel or airport would make my life unbelievably easier.
Also, does anyone know if it's true that the new video iPod does high fidelity audio recording? Again, for portability, having a hard drive recorder would be ideal, rather than carrying around a huge dat. I'm a small person and any shrinkage in equipment size means less stress and faster response.
Either one of these developments would change my life a great deal. It would make sense for apple to come out with them since they seem to be actively courting the media types.

I was so excited to buy this product. I have been a FCP user for nearly 8 years, and currently run FCP Studio 6.0.6 (which I paid over $1,000 for). I never upgraded to V7 because I heard it couldn't output to Blue-Ray. I've read they are discontinuing DVDSP. How am I going to output my movies?
I have used numerous software programs over the last decade. ALL of these applications can open their previous version's files. Photoshop can open files I created when I was a teenager. Pro Tools can open sessions I recorded 15 years ago (it will even open Session 8 files... the precursor to Pro Tools). I can open documents I created in Microsoft Word or Excel. FCP-X cannot?
Is it true you cannot capture from tape? I have a lot of clients that still need this. I own a Panasonic HVX-200a and can capture/transfer from card or tape.
Can I use the meta-data to display date and time over video? I do some legal video work, and this is required.
Are the audio and video tracks locked together? I often jump between FCP and Pro Tools and replace the audio. Will I still be able to do this?
Does the new Compressor have settings MPEG2? Can I use FCP-X and my current version of DVDSP?
Can you place chapter markers in FCP for later use in DVDSP?
Is the quick key command "JKL" still working? I noticed this no longer works in Quicktime.

FCP has been one of my favorite programs for a long time now. I hope Apple gets this all worked out.

You can, but only from select devices (these are detailed on the official product pages). Though some people have reported incompatibility or issues. You can however only capture now. No batch capture/logging first.

What are the pro alternatives to Compressor?

I've been compressing a lot of material recently, mostly shot on DVCPRO HD and edited on FCP. What's been happening is that some - but surprisingly not all dissolves - are breaking up into pixels or rather blocks of pixels. The problem, as I've recently found out, has been documented here so I won't waste anyone's time agonizing over it. I'll just say that using Compression Master, Sorenson Squeeze and bitVice produced artifacts free files right off the bat.
What's infuriating about the Compressor is that every time I try to test a short piece from the middle of the sequence, it compresses fine but then when the whole 20 min sequence is compressed the problem comes back.
I've tried CBR, closed GOP, IP structure etc as suggested in one of the posts and it did get rid of the pixelation but I'm still not happy with the results. The picture looks a bit soft and washed out. Shockingly comparable to a well compressed random, internet downloaded DivX file that I can play on the same player. Is it the Compressor, DVDSP or the true nature of the DVCPRO HD format showing its ugly face?
What are the professional MPEG encoders that could save me all that headache? I'd rather pay good money and finally get it done right than spend my time beta testing software that is clearly not ready for the prime time.

Never had problems whit Apple Mail. Till I updated to Maverick.
First problam was Gmail after updating to Mavericks, Apple mail went to download all my old mail's over 6800. Just delleted my Gmail account form the list to stop it.
Second issuu memory.
First dit not now what was te problem till I found out that Apple Maill took over al my memory. Try differened tip and trick of the Apple Forums. This one works the best. Other users had the same problem after Mavericks.
I restore my Accounts.plist form before the Maverick update.
Looked whit TextWrangler but what am i lookong for? Do not know how is supposed to look.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
          Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
          Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

"ZipCloud" is some sort of cloud-storage service with a doubtful reputation. The OS X client is sometimes distributed along with malware. Although ZipCloud may not be malicious itself, it should be deemed suspect by virtue of the company it keeps.
To remove ZipCloud, start by backing up all data (not with ZipCloud itself, of course.)
Quit the application, if it's running, and drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

The following Safari extensions are malicious and should be removed in the Extensions pane of the Safari preferences window:

Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use those. Never install any extension with the words "Spigot," "Conduit," "Genieo," or "Trovi" in the description.

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
          Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

Hi,
May I know what are the ways to solve a deadlock problem?
Currently, I have the following code to catch the exception:

Any other more efficient way to handle deadlock?

I guess if you're posting here you already have EXS and want more sounds or more functionality and if the korg thing is true you lean more to sampling/synthesis than instrument recreation (as in you probably aren't going for VSL if the korg caught your ear). Independence looks really cool, it's quite new. Kontakt is demanding and very flexible, both include huge libraries and I know kontakt has tons of great filters, FX, modulation. It also needs a pretty strong update-which is being dealt with after a year or so.

What are the permitted compression techniques for PDF/A-1?

The PDF/A-1 standard does not specify how compression is performed. What are the permitted compression techniques for PDF/A-1?
The information I have gathered (not sure if all are true)
LZW should not be used
JPEG2000 may not be used
Few say, JPEG can be used but its a lossy compression. (PDF standard clearly states lossy compression can't be used)
Also, how to figure out whether a particular file is PDF/A-1a or PDF/A-1b and what kind of compressions are used in that file?

For better or worse, ISO specifications are written in a language from a parallel universe. After dealing with ISO standards for a while, you learn what specific words really mean. I should know - I am chair of the ISO PDF/X task force and co-chair of the PDF/VT task force.
The word should does not specify a requirement. PDF/A does not prohibit lossy compression.
JPEG is always a lossy compression. There is a mode of JPEG2000 compression that is indeed lossless. Note that JPEG and JPEG2000 are totally different compression schemes. (I believe that PDF/A-1 as well as PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3, based on older versions of the PDF specification do not permit JPEG2000. PDF/A-2 based on ISO32000-1 and PDF/X-4 based on PDF 1.6 do allow for JPEG2000.)
ZIP compression is lossless.

What exactly are the "Share to YouTube" Settings?

I'm just curious as to what the settings are in FCS 3 (or QT X) for Sharing to YouTube. What I mean by this is, what are the equivalent Compressor or QuickTime Export settings that this feature uses?
In QT 7, I would normally export as an H.264 wrapped MPEG-4 file using a 2500 data rate so that my videos would appear on YouTube as HD, and in relatively great quality without a large overall file size.
Other suggestions always had me converting to a QT mov file (H.264) with 2500 data rate.
I want to know what is the best and easiest way to get to YouTube so that I can inform others of the proper steps to take. The Share to YouTube function would be easiest now, but am still curious about the settings that it uses.
In a related note, the Share to YouTube feature is not letting me use the 3-D tags (yt3d:enable=true yt3d:aspect=16:9) because it contains tags that are not letters or numbers. Is there a way around this?

When i am running the interface i am getting the below error against the errored step
"ORA-01045: user ABC lacks CREATE SESSION privilege; logon denied."
Only E$_TARGET_ANI_TEST is created with no data. No such tables like C$_0TARGET_ANI_TEST, I$_TARGET_ANI_TEST are created and also data is not inserted in the target table TARGET_ANI_TEST.
