Are the versions of After Effects CC for PC and MAC different?
I'm working as Team Administrator and we're trying to share After Effects collects...I found that our PC bretheren are working with AE Ver 12 and our MAC folks are on 11.0.2.11. Is that correct? I don't see any potential updates!

You cannot. If someone else told you there is a way then they will need to show you. After Effects requires a 64-bit system and the latest release requires Mac OS X v10.8 or v10.9 minimum

I need only After Effects for class, but I don't want to buy a whole CC membership just to get one program. I already have most of the programs included in the CC anyway, just the student versions of them, and they're CS6, but that doesn't really bother me. My question is, what are my options to get my hands on After Effects?? I need to figure out something by Wednesday, when I have class next. Thanks!
Well, per the Adobe website, After Effects CS6 for Students is only available via a Suite

Or US$999 for the non-Student version of After Effects CS6 alone

Both those options are expensive compared to the Cloud options and give you only outdated - 3 year old - software.

2 versions of after effects running
Why do i have 2 versions of after effects on my computer and when i open the same project in both, they react differently?
If I click on AE in the windows panel and run AE as Administrator on my windows 7 64 bit computer, version 12.2.1.5 opens....i have a project that loads a script when opening and if i open the project in this version...everything is great
the other version is AE 13.0.0.214, it opens when if i click on a saved AE project on my desktop, but shows errors and doesn't locate files properly in the script that loads in the same project i mentioned above.
Should i have both of these?
if not, what should i do to correct?

The title kind of explains it. I've installed Master Collection CS5.5 as a full version, but After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder are still missing the protected content. I've rebooted and updated, and rebooted again. I've installed as a trial and then entered the serial number later, and I've also tried using the serial number during the install. It seems no matter what combination I try, I can't get MPEG2 to show up in the export list.

Hi I'm thinking of buying Adobe After Effects CC for my MacBook Pro. But I am worried it won't work. Here are my specs 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 1333 MHz DDR3,13-inch (1280 x 800) are my displays and I'm up to date with latest software. I need to know if this will work on this Mac and or if there is any other After Effects that will work.
The display would not. However, your model does not have a discrete GPU, and the integrated (Intel 3000) would not meet CS6's requirements (any CS6 software) alone.

In other words, you would need to upgrade your RAM to 8 GB. The VRAM (video ram) of the processor can exceed its specifications if you upgrade your memory to 8 GB. In order to run the software, you would have to upgrade your RAM first:

I think that you are confused about the hardware requirements. There is no need for any GPU features beyond OpenGL 2.0. There is one feature of After Effects CS6 and later that _can_ use CUDA, but that doesn't mean that you need one of these cards to use the rest of After Effects.

I have just bought a new Imac and it will not load my copy of FCE 3.5 as it says "PowerPC applications are no longer supported". So how do I get to use the version of FCE I am used to and have paid for ?

Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. Purchase a used Mac that will run Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta installed) and continue to run FCE on that Mac (you can actually use Screen Sharing with a "headless" used Snow Leopard Mac Mini and use the 27" screen from your iMac to view and work FCE in the Mac Mini environment);
2. Upgrade to an Intel compatible version of FCE and hope it converts your existing projects to its newer format correctly. There is much debate that the newer version of Final Cut are eliminating many needed features; for example Final Cut Pro X vs. Final Cut Pro 6 -- many users are staying with version 6;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels and then install FCE in the Snow Leopard environment:
