I'd like to know the answer to this also.
I just started reading about JNDI 2 days ago and have never used it. I'd like to use DataSource in my application with JNDI. If I can use the database as my JNDI "server", then I'd prefer to do that instead of having a seperate external server.

How about FinalCut Pro X - I don't know but i regard to Apple way of progress - I doubt
For iMovie up to HD6 and FinalCut Express and FinalCut Pro up to 7.0 - there are plenty.

We've been working with Forms50 and Reports 25 under win95 for
quite a while and have noticed occasional problems:
- A program abort due to page fault protection under win95.For
example, R30DES32 : R30LIB.dll.
- You issue compile all and get and error that forms is not
able to go to (goto error button).
- A compile error that requires login in and out and
recompile to fix.
I wonder if
- there are any patches available for Dev 21,
- i have a memory shortage problem,
- these are (especially case 1) win95 problems.
Please help will be welcomed ................!

Hdv video - are there any players available ?

Hello,
I'm wondering if there are any players available out there today, which enable us to look at hdv video on our computers, without playing the footage in Premiere ? ( I'm talking about the .m2v format )
I did a Google for this, and come up with absolutely nothing, leading me to believe it's impossible at this point in time, but perhaps I'm not using the correct keyword to find something.

KMPlayer seems to play the native files OK. I have to believe VLC probably would as well.

So that when people click on a bat file, that emulator will run along with the J2Me app?

What? An .exe? What is this? Do you know that you are coding in Java? Especially in J2ME? What do you want with a windows executable on your mobile phone?
Once more:
1) pack your project and generate the jad/jar files. This contains your code, the app you wrote.
2) To run this, you need a phone or an emulator. (like you need windows to run an exe). So either you transfer these to a phone and run it from there or use the emulator that comes with the WTK or SunONE or whatever. And for running on an emulator, you can write a .bat for starting. Of course, you can write a .exe but it will do nothing else than calling the emulator with its parameters.
Thats the Java principle btw:
Bytecode (i.e. jad/jar in mobile environment)
Java VirtualMachine (i.e. an emulator)
OS (i.e. Win32)

Are there any tools available to find the Server's availability?

I have been trying to find out a tool/script to figure out the server's complete availability. Please be noted that I need to find only the complete availability for the whole month say July-2014, And there
are many other reasons that some of these servers would get rebooted every alternate day. It would be sufficient even if I am able to find the total downtime of the server in the whole month from which I can calculate the availability. Please be noted that
I need to calculate only the server availability and not for any application/service availability. I know we can get the availability report from SCOM 2012. But I have ~3000 Servers which are not in any monitoring tool in fact. I even tried if we can have
any sysinternals tools but no luck. Any suggestions would be helpful.

The Event Viewer will hold events regarding shutdown and startup. You should work on event id's 6005 and 6006.
Hopefully your 3000 servers has remote powershell enabled or at least some other way of remotely getting the information.
Basically you should be able to create something like:
For each connected 6006/6005 events within a given time spand - get the time difference and add all those together.

Are there any drivers available to use USB mass storage on Windows 98?

I have a fairly expensive piece of equipment that still operates on windows '98. It uses specifically created files to complete jobs that must be loaded onto the computer. I would like to be able to send new job files out to the machine's operator in the field via e-mail so they can download them onto the computer from the Blackberry using the mass storage mode (I have other machines operating on windows 2000 that I am currently doing this with). The machine currently is using a USB operated card reader and we have to physically move the files from the office computer to the field computer and it is often more than 60 miles away. Being able to use the Blackberry would be an incredible time and fuel saver. Upgrading the operating system to 2000 is not an option on this piece of equipment.
Any help on where to find a driver for windows 98? I have searched all over the net to no avail....

that try/catch was just a lazy way to get passed the compiler for this tiny test program. on Sun, both
x = new String(bytes, 0, 2, "ISO-8859-1" );and
x = new String(bytes );produced the same incorrect result. Sun's default is US-ASCII, so it looks like something either wasn't set right, either in the code, or in the OS, or in the java invocation, that it made both ISO-8859-1 and US-ASCII the same or that ISO-8859-1 doesn't even exists and it reverted back to the default. it didn't throw exception, that i know, otherwise, x would not have been set.
Might there be something in the OS or jvm that might relate to ISO-8859-1 support?
