Are there any diagnostic software programs?

I think my fan is broken. My battery is buckling. Thx for your help.

Take your machine in for service immediately. You don't need any diagnostic software to know there's a problem if your battery is buckling.

  • Simple question. Since apple has extinguished iDVD Are there any other Software programs that can produce the end product iDVD did?

There are many a thousands of people who are producingvideos on completed DVDs. As an amateur videographer using iMovie first nowusing Final Cut pro to produce completed ready to distribute DVDs, I find ithard to believe at the meeting you mentioned anyone with common sense wouldhave explained the scenario above. On an amateur level so many folks have beencreating videos of Weddings, Home Movies, and many different Special Events. Onin particular are sports events. I shoot a sports event like Mix Martial ArtsEvents utilizing several video cameras. Then editing with Final cut Pro andsometimes iMovie. All of my completed videos that have been edited in either ofthese two programs are shared (like hand in glove) with iDVD. Short of steppinginto the commercial world Apple has deleted many people from producing a semiprofessional looking product.
I do not know if the can be answered here in the format buthere it goes!!
Simple question. Since apple has extinguished iDVD Are thereany other Software programs that can produce the end product iDVD did? Googlesearches with years of outdated info does not give good references. Withoutlooking to go commercial, the Apple Macintosh Computers built internal Softwareprogram like iDVD is the only program I know of that can help folks on mylevel!!
It doesn't seem there are any programs that takes off fromwhere iDVD left off. My end products (complete videography from start tofinished printed and burned DVD) needs to have the mapping and control usingthe semi professional look iDVD gave!
    Have any ssuggestions?

    Thank you Klaus 1
I have 4 latest Macs All have iDVD. The question was not where to get iDVD.
The question for anyone who knows is: Since apple has extinguished iDVD Are there any other Software programs that can produce the end product iDVD did?
I appreciate your input but it realy does not answer the question. iDVD will soon not be able to work with newer versions of Macs as it has been left behind by Apple!
    Once again:
It doesn't seem there are any programs that takes off from where iDVD left off.
My end products needs to have the mapping and control using the semi professional look iDVD gave me.
Imovie cannot do this. More importantly imovie cannot save the project to Video_TS folders like iDVD did.
    Anyone have suggestions?
My full post is just below:

  • I have Quicktime 7 on my new MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.1 but would like to know if I can view or run my .mkv movies/files? Or are there any approved software that can run or view my .mkv files.  Thanks.

I have a new MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.1 with Quicktime 7 but would like to know if I can view my .mkv files on Quicktime 7 or are there any approved software I can run that's safe for Yosemite 10.10.1.

    Hello kimosabe0731,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! At this time, QuickTime does not support the playback of .mkv files. For more information, see the following resource:

  • Are there any other software?

are there any other software as well as labview?

Nope. LV has been shown many times to be the best solution for most types of applications--assuming you are wanting to do something like write a word processor or operating system.

  • Are there any diagnostic utilities tool to test the MSI mainboard

    Hi,
I am using MSI 875P mainboard, because of built in sound driver "SoundMax Drivers " not been detected in WinXP system.
One expected reason, the built in sound driver may spoil.
Are there any way or utilities tool to verify or diagnostic the built in components
    for this mainboard.
    Kindly advise. Thank you.

As far as I know there are no standard SSH VIs anywhere. At least at the time that I started this thread there were not. I came up with a solution that I have been using ever since using the program Plink that is installed with Putty. Please take a look at the VI I have attached. It is pretty straight forward. You enter the location of plink.exe, the username, the password, and the host and you can send any command and get a response just as if you were connected via an SSH client. It has been working great for years. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

  • Are there any good fax programs that work with Efax besides Efax Messenger

I just signed up for a free months trial of Efax. I downloaded the Efax Messenger program which seems to work well except for the fact that it does not save any fax packages (on my computer) that I send out. This is an important needed feature. If I send out a package of 5 or 6 files to someone I need to be able to look up what I've sent them. The only way I can do this is to put all the files in a folder named for that particular fax, then put that folder in a second folder that is labeled faxes, then fax the files from the folder by Efax. Quite a process. I called Efax and was told that this feature was only available for a Windows Machine (Efax, catch up!)
Are there any other programs that are easy to use and at least as good as the Efax Messenger that have that feature?
We are traveling in a sailboat, don't have a land line. We only have a wifi internet connection when they are available, (internet cafes, etc.) or sometimes at anchor using long range wifi. I don't have the luxury of going online to check faxes all the time, hence the necessity of having them on the computer.
    Any help appreciated.
    Dan

Just to be clear, though, reducing the resolution of an LCD can have a negative effect on image quality. LCDs have an optimal "native" resolution and setting the resolution below that native level results in a poorer quality image.
Leopard claims "resolution independence" - I have not tried it yet, but if you read the description of this feature, you will note that it applies to the user interface elements. Granted, that's often what you notice the most (i.e. the problem with reducing the resolution below native for an LCD is that the text in Finder, all of the menu bar items, etc., looks "fuzzy"). By appropriately scaling the UI elements, Leopard overcomes the limitation. But the "fuzzyness" will still apply to non-UI things that are displayed - i.e. images. Since based on your posts you will be working with images primarily, high-res vs. standard is still a choice I'd recommend considering carefully, and ideally by trying them both side-by-side.
    Ps. Thanks for awarding points!

  • HT1711 Are there any known lyrics programs that work?

I am running Windows 8, Itunes 11.4, I have Itunes Match, and am looking for a plugin, app, or anything that will automatically go through my library and get the lyrics and display them. I have already tried looking through web forums, downloaded a couple plugins and nothing is working. So does anyone know of anything that can work besides manually inputing them all?

I have had the Garmin XT for 6 months and have not seen any billing for air time.    The GPS can do special items suchas search for best gas prices in the area.  When you do that the unit says it is accessing the internet and you are being charged but for directions there is no charge beats 10/month or more for fees.  If you get a phone with a built in PGS the phone company will try to charge you for using it.   With the XT you are using the GPS box from Garmin as you would a stand alone Garmin device which is no charge.
The only question is are you willing to put up with your phone being constantly shut down.   I talked to Garmin and they said they never heard of the problem before.

  • HT202879 I would like to have a spreadsheet editing software for my new Template Numbers Pro but my operating system is 10.7.  Are there other editing software programs (less the 10.9) that can work with this app?

    Hi,
I am looking for some editing software for my new Template Numbers Pro.  Numbers is 10.9, my computer is only 10.7.  What do you suggest?
    Thanks,
    Billieoh

That is good to know.  Frankly I don't know what kind of machine I have.  I have a Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3 early 2008.
If it's the "Templates for Numbers Pro" on the Mac App Store then you need OSX 10.7 or later.  You'll need iWork '09 or later.
It looks as if you want to use the iOS version of the same templates then you will need the latest Numbers there.  And if you use the latest Numbers there and want to sync to the Mac, you'll need to have Mavericks and Numbers 3.

  • Are there any FREE softwares or apps that I can mix songs with?

I want to mix a bunch of songs for a dance contest. And I want to be able to have it on iTunes.
    Thanks

None of the free semi-WYSIWYG editors, like NVu and Kompozer, are worth a darn.  They're all buggy and don't do a very good job, IMHO.  If you're interested in manipulating the raw source code by hand, the best tools for the job are just text editors.  But get one with features that help with writing HTML and PHP, like TextWrangler (which is free).  If you like TextWrangler, consider buying it's "big brother," BBEdit.
Other options are things like RapidWeaver, which are kind of like DreamWeaver on a smaller and cheaper scale.

  • Are there any parallels alternative programs?

Rather than booting Mac OS X and Windows separately, I was wondering if I could use both at the same time. I know I can with Parallels, but I was hoping there was a free alternative out there?
I already checked with open source sites, like sourceforge, but didn't find anything.

    Hi Eric,
first thing coming to mind is VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/
Also at the end of this article there is a list of possibilities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_machine
But to my knowledge in terms of speed and reliability nothing beats Parallels or Fusion.

  • Are there any costs for an adobe reader software distribution license ?

Are there any costs for an adobe reader software distribution license ?

No (except for the costs of having your legal team check the license). You do need to read the license carefully, you are making specific commitments and there are specific restrictions.

  • Are there any free remote desktop programs

Are there any free remote desktop or remote assistance programs available for Panther? I only need a server for the Panther computer, as I would be helping that user, but he would not need to help me. I was wondering if anyone knew of any. I wanted to try LogMeIn, but it requires Tiger. I couldn't find anything at Wikipedia's comparison of remote desktop applications. Thanks

Look for the following at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
