Are there any faster wireless routers compared to the Apple Extreme Base Station?
The speed of wireless is limited by the technology. If you are using 802.11n wireless at 5 GHz, and assuming you have a strong connection, the speed will approach the 270-300 Mbps range. Other routers will achieve similar results if they have 5 GHz capability.
As far an ethernet connection is concerned, the Gigabit ethernet ports on the AirPort Exteme will provide top performance, along with other routers that have Gigabit etherent ports.

Is there ANY way to get QOS with an airport extreme base station?
I recently moved and decided to go with Primus VOIP for my phone line. It works fine as long as i don't have any torrents going...if i do then call quality goes to **** (i wish someone would've told me before)
I was told to use a QOS on teh VOIP ports...but my airport extreme doesn't support this (and apparently neither will the new one). Honestly this is something Apple REALLY needs to fix. This is outrageous. They're supposed to be on teh cutting edge of technology, and their routers don't even won't properply with VOIP services??? That's ********.
Is there any way i could get this to work - perhaps thru software?
It seems the only solution i have is to get a Linksys router and sell off the airportSorry that this may not seem like an ideal solution, but one option is to use an application that runs on a Windows PC that allows you to format HDDs for HFS+. Once formatted as such, it can be shared out to either OS X, Windows, or Linux users from an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule. HFS+, like NTFS, supports much larger HDDs.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a community for anything other than the App Store, but my question is aimed at the purchases from the Apple Store here on your site. I would like to print out a reciept for my Mac Mini which I bought in 2009.
TuralIf you made your purchase from the online Apple Store, did you create an account? If so you can sign into your account and view the purchases that you have made in the recent past. Unfortunately, the information retained by Apple and available for your viewing only covers the last 18 months.
If you made the ourchase with a bank card, oerhaps you can loctae that information in your bank card records and with that information Apple may be able to locate the purchase for you. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE in the US when you have located the bank information for the purchase. -

We are currently running JDE Enterprise One 8.11 SP1 Update 2 with tools release 8.97.3.2. and looking to upgrade to tools release 8.98.4.5.
Thanks in advance
AndyThere should be no problem in the UK. You will need a plug adapter for the charger.

Are there any unanticipated problems in carrying out the procedure outlined in the 'Windows Migration Assistant' instructions?
One I have seen mentioned a couple of times is it will set up an identical user account on the Mac, which has led to some problems.
I don't know how to fix this since I haven't used Windows since 1995. -

Are there any apps like outlook but for the ipads?
are there any apps like outlook but for the ipads?
I want to manage my calendars appointments outlook is perfect but is it compatable for ipadYes Outlook is Compatible for iPAD, but you have to buy it as an additional APP. However you can download something called "iCloud Control Panel" for Windows Machine & Install it. This would integrate all your Windows Calendar in Outlook to iCloud.
Then enable iCloud in your iPad. All your contacts & calendars would sync automatically to your outlook on the windows machine. You can actuallu configure "Mail" app in the iPad to your exchange server. -
Printing wirelessly to MacBook Pro with Airport Extreme Base Station
I have an Airport Extreme Base Station that I used to use wirelessly until I got Verizon Fios. The Fios technicians said the base station couldn't be used and so it's been sitting unused for a few months. However, I really, really miss printing wirelessly, and was wondering if it was possible to use the Airport Extreme Base Station ONLY to print wirelessly, and not connect it any way to my internet (I don't want to mess with any of the fios stuff at all).
If it's not possible, is there any other way to print wirelessly without purchasing another product or special printer. I have a HP c4480 printer.
Thanks! If your printer has a USB cable the easy way to go about this in my opinion is to plug that USB cable into your Extreme base station. I have the Extreme ABS that looks like a flying saucer. I plug the usb cable into the port that has the symbol that doe NOT look like this <--> rather it looks like a Saguaro cactus.
My computer then sends print documents to the Extreme via WiFi and then Extreme sends them to the printer via the USB cable.
If your Airport status is not showing in the Mac's menubar go to system Prefs/Network/Airport and check a little box so it will show up in the menu bar.
Now if your Extreme is plugged in the wall and powered up your Mac should be able to find it. Click on that menubar item for Airport and scroll down and select your Airport Extreme. I don't know for sure what its name will be. It should still be the same as it used to be when you used it last.
Now try printing a simple document. In the print dialog window you should be able to select what printer you want to use. If your new Extreme printer is listed select it. You may need to click on Print & Fax and figure out how to select it from there, and choose it to be the new default printer.
I think this info will do the job. Whenever you want to print you have to go to the Airport icon in the menubar and change your airport connection from your Verizon stuff to your Extreme. Then of course you have to change back when you are done. That is why it would be great to toss the Verizon WiFi radio out the window and just plug your Verizon modem into your Extreme WiFi radio transceiver (router). But I understand you cannot deal with that at this time.
If this does not do the job, if I have missed something, I will bet you 5 bucks that you can still figure it out if you just look at any error messages and/or look at the Print&Fax prefs and the Print dialog windows etc. and see what I may have missed. Maybe you have to go to SystemPrefs/Sharing and allow your printer to be shared. I don't think so. The way I figure any of this stuff out is to just look at stuff and think and try things and see what happens.
Your Verizon setup should be something like this.... a cable comes into your house and goes to a 'modem'. From there and ethernet cable (CAT-5 cable) goes from that modem to your Verizon router (WiFi radio transceiver).
As for getting rid of the Verizon router, when you are ready to give it a go, simply unplug the ethernet cable (it has a plug on the end that looks like the kind of plug that telephones use to plug into the wall, except it is a bit wider, but still has that same kind of snap-lock tab) that comes from the Verizon modem (the modem has the heavy round cable and probably many blinking lights) and plug it into the Extreme. Mine has an icon on the Extreme that is many dots in a circular pattern.
At this point you may have to unplug the Verizon modem form the wall AC power and the Extreme also. Then plug them back in, wait a minute, go to your Airport icon on your Mac menubar, Select Extreme and start surfing the web.
It really is that simple with a Mac. Maybe Verizon has found a way to make things difficult but my guess is no. Any password should be taken care of in your Airport Setup Utility program. It should be the same password(s) as you used before when you used your Extreme. -
I told my wireless network to forget two airport expresses 1 1st gen, 1 2nd gen so that I could rename them. Now the network does not see them even when plugged in about 10 feet away from the airport extreme base station. The network does recognize a totally new 2nd gen express. Does "forget" mean forever? How to reset?
The network does recognize a totally new 2nd gen express.
Then, it sounds like you have already reset the 2nd Gen Express, and now you need to set it up again, like you did the first time. Only, this time, assign the device name that you want to the AirPort Express.
Do NOT use the name that Apple suggests.....which will be something goofy like........Sueswimsf's Red Apple AirPort Express
Assign a simple name.....something like 2ndGenExpress -
I am currently in a hotel and I have my MacBook Pro, iPad, and Apple TV (2nd gen). The hotel I'm in has both wired and wireless internet connections. I cannot directly connect my Apple TV to either connection because the hotel connections require you to agree to some terms and conditions that the Apple TV can't access. To further complicate things the ethernet connection in my room doesn't work at all. So the solution I found to at least connect the Apple TV to the internet was this: using my MacBook Pro, I connected to the hotel wireless connection (to bypass the hotel internet's T&C). I then shared that wireless connection via ethernet to the Apple TV. It works. I can watch YouTube and Netflix but I can't take advantage of AirPlay. I've updated, restored, and reset the Apple TV numerous times, but no luck. Are there any settings or connections I'm missing?
Airplay from what? iTunes or iPad?
I assume iPad - in this setup the iPad and AppleTv will be unlikely to be able to see each other on the hotel network even if both are connected wirelessly. If they can and you don't have a user/room specific login I'd be concerned about other users seeing my devices too. These things are generally designed for single user access not to create your own local network. I suspect in the T&Cs for the wi-fi service it may preclude sharing the internet connection with another device, but if it works.... -
IVI class driver (layer) will provide interchangeable feature for a IVI class specific driver. It would work as a pass-through layer and finally make calls to the IVI class specific driver. Since there could be a lot of functions to be passed through. Are there any tools from NI (Labwindows/CVI or Labview) can do this ?
Thanks a lot.
BTW: the IVI class specific driver interface is generated from Labwindows/CVI tools.Hi Chris,
Yes, I did. To support interchangability, from my understanding of the IVI specs, there should be another layer IVI-C class driver on top of this IVI class specific driver. As in the IVI‑3.1: Driver Architecture Specification:
Although IVI‑C class drivers export inherent,
base, and extension capabilities, they do not actually implement them. Except
for a few inherent functions and attributes defined exclusively for class
drivers, class driver functions and attributes provide a pass‑through layer to
the IVI‑C specific driver. An IVI‑C specific driver is responsible for
implementing the operations of functions and attributes and for communicating
with the instrument. The IVI‑C specific instrument driver contains the
information for controlling the instrument, including the command strings,
parsing code, and valid ranges of each instrument setting"
So where is this IVI-C class driver and how is it created and communicate with my class specific driver?
Thanks a lot.
Cheers,

Are there any diagnostic utilities tool to test the MSI mainboard
Hi,
I am using MSI 875P mainboard, because of built in sound driver "SoundMax Drivers " not been detected in WinXP system.
One expected reason, the built in sound driver may spoil.
Are there any way or utilities tool to verify or diagnostic the built in components
for this mainboard.
Kindly advise. Thank you.

Goon FuiAs far as I know there are no standard SSH VIs anywhere. At least at the time that I started this thread there were not. I came up with a solution that I have been using ever since using the program Plink that is installed with Putty. Please take a look at the VI I have attached. It is pretty straight forward. You enter the location of plink.exe, the username, the password, and the host and you can send any command and get a response just as if you were connected via an SSH client. It has been working great for years. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
