Are there Apps to use the iPad in a lab

I work in a research medical lab. Usually I write experiments and data in a lab notebook where I can describe experiments and draw figures by hand and record data. My Question: Are there APPS available for the iPad that would allow me to do this with my data/experiment written documentation????

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). What kind of spoilsport parents buy a present and then wants to disable a harmless set of very simple games.

The iTunes App Store only contains iOS applications and not ones for computers. Check the manufacturer's websites, or if you're using Mac OS X 10.6.6 or newer on a Mac, the Mac App Store.

However, I recommend you to use FireWire to migrate from your old Mac because it will be much faster than Wi-Fi or Ethernet, so if your old Mac has got a FireWire port, buy the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter for your Late 2012 iMac and migrate from your old computer

There are two separate calendars on ipad (ios 7.1) one for icloud, one fo exchange. I have tried a couple of calendar apps and while they do a good job of showing the events in the app - they don't push (synch) back to iCloud. Any thoughts on an app that will take my ipad calendars and synch them to a single icloud calendar/account?

(Being sarcastic - its because only the US is big or important enough to warrant volume licensing....)
At this time, until Apple decides to release volume licensing structures outside of the US the only solution would be to use your purchase orders with a company that sells the iTunes Vouchers and redeem those.
However - even then its hard to stay on the right side of the EULA when the terms are all couched in reference to "Personal Use"
I have spoken to some developers in the past about educational discounts, or even support for proxies, and wasn't really impressed with their answers. But hey - even Adobe has trouble with proxies and consistent approaches - we can't expect independent developers to be able to match the same capabilities...

You don't need conversion programs, iTunes can copy most of your content over to the iPad via the file sharing section, and some apps also support Dropbox, email attachments, transfer via your wifi network. There are a number of apps that you can get that support Microsoft office file (microsoft don't make an app versions of their software) e.g. from Apple there are Pages (word support), Numbers (excel) and Keynote (powerpoint), and from third-parties there are apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice HD

In my opinion it is best to use one Apple ID on your computer and iPad. Using multiple IDs causes confusion.
I also suggest that each person with their own iOS device have their own unique Apple ID. On the computer create different accounts for each user so that iTunes on each account can be associated with the correct Apple ID.

Allan was somewhat incomplete in his statement. While technically it would be possible, from a licensing standpoint you need one license for each iPad unless those iPads were all going to be used by the same person (which I think unlikely given your described use). Here are the relevant terms of the iTunes Store agreement (emphasis mine):
"(ii) If you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, you may download and sync an App Store Product for use by either (a) a single individual on one or more iOS Devices used by that individual that you own or control or (b) multiple individuals, on a single shared iOS Device you own or control. For example, a single employee may use an App Store Product on both the employee's iPhone and iPad, or multiple students may serially use an App Store Product on a single iPad located at a resource center or library. For the sake of clarity, each iOS Device used serially by multiple users requires a separate license."
So you would legally need to purchase one copy of the app for each iPad, something which would require an iTunes Store account for each iPad. For normal purchases, each iTunes Store account would need an associated credit card or prepaid iTunes card.
The Volume Purchase Plan works similarly - you still need one license and one iTunes Store account for each iPad - but the purchasing is centralized so you don't get billed multiple times. You get one recemption code for each license you purchase. See:

I have wifi in my home and it has always worked fine. Then I went to Ireland and used the iPad there. Since I have been home, it won't work in the house. I took it to another location where I have logged in before and it worked perfectly. Any ideas?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

What connectors do I need for my ipad so I can connect it to my apogee duet 2 interface essentially using the ipad as an instrument utilizing a few of the synth and drum machine apps to record tracks into Logic on my Mac?

Ok, so I completely feel like this is a stupid question for those of you already in the know and recording tracks onto your Computers DAW from instrument apps on the iPad and other i devices. I can not seem to find out exactly what connector or unit I need to be able to connect and use my ipad as a instrument to record tracks onto logic. I have an ipad2 that I want to connect to my apogee duet 2 interface which is obviously connected to my Mac. I know Logic comes with plenty of drum and synth options but I still want to be able to use beatmaker, jam up pro and the sunrizer synth apps on some of my tracks. I do have the camera conversion adaptors. So my question is, do I just run from the camera adapter in the ipad into the midi port on my apogee interface? (I'm new to and still learning about midi) Or is there a special 30 pin cable I need to get that runs from the ipad into the XLR or quarter inch in the break out cables on the apogee? I did find one cord out there that plugged into the ipad and had left and right XLR connectors but my duets break out cable only has two inputs each is their own channel. Also , if the cable I need isn't midi and does connect to the breakout cables, do I set it as an instrument or as a mic in the apogee software? Or am I completely way off base and needing something different all together. Any help would be much appreciated!
I have a fare amount of experience when it comes to recording, set up and the flow of standard instruments, using external hardware and plugins. But the last few weeks I spent a lot of time programming some great beats in beatmaker on my ipad and I want to track them into Logic. It seemed like no matter how I worded the questions when researching what I thought was and should be simple to figure it out, it just took me to answers I wasn't looking for. Thank you ahead of time. Like I said I'm just starting to get out of my comfort zone and learn about midi and the more digital side of things. This is an older photo but the sleep and home buttons are still in the same place on all iPads. The home button is the round button at the bottom of the iPad and the sleep button is also called the on/off button and it is at the top right corner of the iPad.
