Are there blending modes for the layers?

Like in Photoshop, is it possible to take on shape and blend (multiply, difference, soft light, etc.)the layers? I can't seem to locate it in Illustrator.

Transparency panel.
Layers in Illustrator don't mean the same as Layers in Photoshop. Think of Illustrator's Layers as equal to Photoshop's Layer Groups (folders in the Layers panel), with each object on an Illustrator equivalent to a Layer in Photoshop. You can change the Transparency Blend Mode of any object on a layer independent of the layer itself. If you click on the circle to the right of a Layer's name you can target that layer and change the entire Transparency Blend Mode for the Layer.

I've read that the Notes app with Mountain Lion will be available for OS X as well, and I was wondering if there will be any significant updates to the Notes app coming in iOS 6?
The Notes app in Mountain Lion supports, as far as I know, text formatting, images and attachments. The Notes app in iOS 5 does not have any of these features, yet still it is claimed that the OS X client will sync with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This means that there must be some rather significant updates coming for the Notes app in iOS 6 to match up with the features of its Mac counterpart. Still, no updates to the Notes app are listed in any of the iOS 6 feature lists I've seen so far.
I'm looking for a good note taking app for OS X and iOS. I don't like how Springpad works, neither did Evernote work out for me, it's just too complex - I like Simplenote a lot though, it's just that its approach is too radical in my opinion. I was thinking that the Mountain Lion Notes app might be a good alternative because it combines simplicity with rich text formatting and attachments. I kind of hate the skeuomorphic user interface though.

Are There Any Themes for the Blackberry Tour Approved by RIM, or Not?

I've already had one BB Tour bricked, and I had downloaded all apps through BB App World. However, there appear to be ZERO themes on BB App World. So themes are the one thing I downloaded OTA on various websites, including Crackberry. Seeing that my VZW Tour came pre-loaded with 2 themes, I thought downloading themes was harmless. Is it possible the themes I had downloaded could have crashed my phone? Are there any websites with themes that are approved by RIM?

All Themes at this point are not from RIM.
With the release of the New Developer Software during the Last Conference soon RIM will have themes Approved and available for Download through App world. No ETA at this point though.

Are there any updates for the original 4th generation

My ailing mother has an ipod that she has had for years but has not registered it. My want to see if there are some updates for the original OS.

Sync it via iTunes and see if it shows any updates available.

Are there power settings for the aiport card (wifi)?

Just wondering if there are any type of power saving features i can enable on the macbook for wifi.
i ask this because i notice that my azereus bit torrent client seems to stop downloading my torrents each time my screen saver goes on.

There are none specific to the wireless card. You could try turning off the screensaver and just set the machine to turn off the display after a few minutes.

Does anyonw know if there are settings that you can change for video on the iphone 4?
My phone wont display images on my TV but play audio, I have the apple dock.

It sounds like your microphone makes you sound muffled to people you talk to on the phone. For that issue, I would use the troubleshooting in the following article:
If your voice is too faint or sounds unclear using iPhone, or iPod touch
Test the microphone
To find out if there is an issue with the microphone itself—and not the app you're using or your cellular connection—test the microphone with the built-in Voice Memos app. Speak into the microphone and then play back the recording. You should be able to hear your voice clearly.
Fix common issues
Follow these steps, testing after each with Voice Memos.
Unplug anything plugged into the headset jack.
If you're on a call and holding your phone next to your ear, speak into the microphone and make sure you don't block it with your fingers or shoulder.
If you're using a screen protector or case that covers the microphone, remove it. Clear any debris from the microphones.
Restart your device.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
If you've tried these steps and people still can't hear you well on calls, contact Apple Support.

Why are there no updates for the 800w

I know there were 2 patches early on. The voice command works about 80% of the time, so I guess that's better than nothing; I can't see any improvement in the usb charging / recognition behavior; or let's just say it's still extremely poor.
I look at the Blackberry Bold forum and see that there are updates for that already; in fact it looks almost continuous. That is, there are signs of activity from BB and none from Palm.

What I was kinda hoping for with this new upgrade was a news column in the ministore...I think most fans now realize that it's the studios fault (thanks to Debbstar and others). What people don't know (me included) is WHY??? We want to know what's going on insead of speculating. Is there a contract legal issue regarding schedule changes at Sci Fi? Does this have something to do with the syndications coming out? Or maybe something to do with SG1's cancelation?? Fans hate being left in the dark more than they hate not being able to download their shows...well, almost as much anyway Jesus, I am a geek now. I'm complaining about a science fiction show. I just got a new lap top. Its card slot does not support my nokia card phone 2.0. Are the any adapters that I can use? to make it compartible with my laptop. Where can I get them pls?

I was lookng for a similar 'adapter' and found that I should have been searching for a simple single size card 'reader' instead.
I got a short stubby 'reader' that takes the memory card and plugs into a USB port for £7 from the seven Day shop.

Are there LabVIEW drivers for the MCC USB-501 temperature logger

I am looking to purchase the MCC USB-501 and use it to acquire the ambient temperature on an event driven basis. The data logging portion is something I am interested in, I just want to have my application acquire the tempture when a certain event occurs. Does anyone have any LabVIEW drivers for this device?

I don't know what you mean by using a logger that collects data on an "event driven basis".
It is nifty little device, but it basically does one thing. It logs data. You load the software, configure it for when to start an how often to log data, unplug it, and put it where you want to log the temperature. When you're done, you get it plug it back in and download the data that was logged.
There is no way to configure it to react to events. It's possible that a LabVIEW driver exists for this, but all it would do is provide an alternate way of downloading the data instead of using the software that comes with it. It is not an immediate or interactive piece of hardware like a normal data acquisition card would be.

Are there different formats for the iBooks reader?

I created a picture book, but when it's opened in iBooks, it displays each page as a small image on the "pages" of the book. I opened my file in Cloud Reader (for comic books) and it's displayed perfectly, with the pages filling up the screen. Can iBooks do this, or is the "book" display the only format?

Are there any skins for the macbook endorsed by Apple?

I really want something that in case it damages my macbook apple will cover it. Plus, I heard how easy the white one scratches and that worries me.

Marware http://www.marware.com/ products seem good, and lots of people are happy with them. They'll leave no residue, and I can't begin to think how they could damage the macbook. They won't, however, prevent all possible damage. Besides, the apple warranty doesn't cover cosmetic issues, or normal wear and tear. Hence, their endorsement or lack thereof of any cosmetic add-ons is irrelevant.
Unless you plan to leave it in the box, you're bound to inflict some minimal amount of wear and tear on the thing, no matter how careful you are. Hey, I agree: it's a pretty machine, but I figure it's meant to be used...
