Are there limits as to how many objects can be selected?

I'm working on a map of the area of where I work.  I imported an Autocad file into an EPS file, then I saved it as an AI file.  I am trying to group the roads and after grouping several objects, I keep getting an error saying that I can't group the objects.  What gives?

So you're trying to group groups? This tends to be questionable in AI. You may find it easier to use layers to sort items into quasi-groups and select all from there.

  • I need to know how many objects i got selected

    Hi all,
I need to know how many objects i got selected for a particular issue and ussualy are too many to count one by one. I know that this information is provided in other software like Corel or Freehand, but I didn't find out how to get this info in Illustrator.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Open the Document Info palette.
From its flyout menu, turn on Selection Only and Objects.
The palette will not remember those settings. You have to re-select them every time you relaunch Illustrator.
The Document Info palette is a half-baked hack, tagged-on to display a subset of the information in the normally-hidden programmer's window, instead of incorporating the data properly into the program's interface. So it's another completely unintuitive grab-bag of important information that everyone needs, but no one would expect to look for there.

  • Is there a limit to how many photos can be stored on an iPad using version 5.1.1?

I am having a devil of a time syncing my wife's original iPad with iTunes. I believe that there is a limit to how many photos can be stored on the iPad. It has 20GB of empty storage space, so it's not a space issue.
Certain albums refuse to sync. I cannot figure out why those albums, in particular, will not sync. If I delete albums, they disappear from the iPad Photo application, so some synchronizing is happening.
    Help.

First, thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
Let me be a little more specific in describing my problems.
I have about 8,000 images in iPhoto on an older iMac. All of the iPhoto functions appear to work correctly.
I have created about 50 albums in iPhoto, and about 20 of these are of interest to my wife, so she'd like to copy them to her early iPad.
ITunes shows the albums correctly when I select what I want to sync to her iPad. In other words, iTunes correctly represents what is in iPhoto. 1:1 correspondence in albums.
However, when I sync approximately 25 albums with her iPad, 3-5 albums refuse to copy over to the iPad. The total number of images that is available on her iPad is 1680. My first thought was that there might be a limit to the number of images. There is plenty of memory available on the iPad (over half).
Thank you so much for your time.
    Cheers,
    Chuck

  • Is there a limit of how many resources can be shared via a single Resource Pool in Project 2010 Professional standalone?

We have a single master project resource pool of over 150 resources that are shared across let's say 10-15 sub projects or sharer files.
We are using Microsoft Project Professional (standalone no project server)
Are you aware of any limitations outside of project server with resource pool and sharing, or should we be using Project server (as I have read a lot of articles about resource pool sharing working better in project server)
I'd like to get clarification on:
    1. I read that the calendars for resources (of which there could be many shift patterns etc.) should always be created in the master project only, not in the sharer files. In my testing I see that a shared resource also brings the additional calendars from
the Master Project file - and can be chosen in the calendar column from Resource sheet.
    2. Each sharer file can have it's own specific project calendar, but the resource calendar (used by the assigned resources from the pool) will drive the scheduling (as per normal), unless;
    3. A specific task has a 'Task Calendar' applied to it AND "scheduling ignores resource calendars" is ticked.
I am trying to find an article that addresses, in detail, the limitations or 'look out fors' in this area.  I have found plenty about how to create and share resources, but this is more troubleshooting.
Any advice or direction that can be given would be appreciated. Thanks.

No limit to resources, but linked master and resource pools are at high risk of file corruption if you rename, over-write or move a linked file without removing it from the master and pool first. Files will corrupt, its when not if.
Master files should never have any resources or tasks in them, only inserted projects.
I much prefer creating master files with the Link option deselected. This copies all data and consolidates resource info (so no pool needed). I record a macro to create new masters each week. This method has no corruption risk.
Your alternative now is to experiment with Project Server. By far the best way to prototype a system is to get Project Online through Microsoft, ProjectHosts or Bemo. It will give you access to a vanilla project server very quickly and cost for a few months
testing is trivial for a few users.
If you go ahead with a full implementation I strongly recommend getting a qualified Project Server partner to help you implement the full system.

  • MultiProvider (How many objects can be attached?)

OK - I believe in 3.0 - 3.5 you were only allowed only 13 Cubes/ODS/Info-Object to be attached to a multiprovier - Does the same hold true for 7.0??

    Hi Michael,
There are sevearl threads about this. I think there is no limit, but a recomendation by SAP that says that you should limit the number of base objects to a max of 10.
    Hope this helps...

  • When sending multiple MMS messages is there a limit to how many you can send in a group?  My iphone4 will not let me send more than 10.  My 3gs I was able to send over 20 MMS messages at one time.  when I try on this phone I get the red exclamation mark!!

When sending text messags from my iphone4 it will only allow me to send to no more that 10 contacrs at a time.  On my 3GS I was able to sendto well over 20 contacts at once.  When I try to send on this iphone 4 all I get is the red exclamation mark and a message saying message not send and to try again.  Is there something wrong with the way I have my setting?  I use this feature alot so I am really trying to figure it out.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I understand that the limit is 10 people when sending MMS messages. However there is a much higher limit for SMS messages.
If they would suit your needs, try disable the switch for "MMS messaging" on the Messages page of the Settings app.

  • Is there a limit to how many windows can be open on a screen?

Bored at work again and playing around, is there a limit (real or theoretical) of the numbers of windows that can be open on a Mac at any given time?

There is an infinite number that can be up at any given time. Just to test it, one fun thing I like to play around with is this:
Open up a Finder window and hit Command-N, about 100 times. Then push F9 or F8 to see all the windows you opened!
It's fun to see 10,293 Finder windows open at once. To close them, just hit Command-W the same number of times, or go to Force Quit and Relaunch Finder.
    Have fun!!!

  • How many addresses can i send an e mail to in one go? is there a limit?

I am trying to send a mail to all my contacts in one go. is there a limit on how many addresses can be entered into the to/cc or bcc lines in one go?

Every mail service provider imposes such limits. The limits for iCloud are given here:
    iCloud: Mail specifications
For legitimate bulk mailing, you should use a hosted service such as "MailChimp."

  • Is there a limit to how many IP addresses can be allocated by an iPhone 4 for tethering?

In order to activate 30x iPods, I had to try to tether them one by one to my iPhone 4. I would tether one, activate it, switch it off totally (my data provider only allows 1 or 2 tethers at the same time), then move on to the next one. Unfortunately, this only worked properly around 9 - 10 times. After this, although new devices would appear as tethered on the iPhone, they would not be allocated an IP address by the phone and so could not get Internet access (they reverted to APIPA addresses). I could not then tether anything else to the phone that hadn't already been joined. The only cure I found was to totally restore the iPhone.
Is there a limit to how many IPs can be allocated by the iPhone 4?
Are these allocations time-limited, so I can re-use addresses after a period of time without having to restore the phone?

Are those photos or videos in your camera roll? or in shared albums or photostream?
You can only import photos from camera roll.

  • How many workbook can be broadcasted with 1 resgistered precalc instance

    Hi all,
i did what you said now i have another question you have mentioned to register 10 instances of the precalculation server on 1 desktop machine, but SAP recommends to register 3 instances in the documentation from matthias nutt. Now the question :
Is there a restriction? How many workbooks can be scheduled and sended via email when having 1 precalculation instance registered in RSPRECADMIN?
Or does it depend on the workbook size and hardware configuration of the desktop? What is therefore recommended from SAP?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Murat

    Hi Murat,
We recommend to use only 3 concurrent Instances at once, due to the fact, that excel can get unstable if the number of Excel instances is increased. This comes due to the design of excel. Excel shares global ressources on the system, and communicates itself with RPC to these ressouces. Sometimes these ressources are locked because they are already in use, then Excel waits for the release of the lock and comes into a dead lock situtation because it is not notified when the lock is released.
Technically it is not avaoidable that some precalculations will fail in case massive load scenarios. This is more or less due to the office automation of excel.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Michael

  • How many devices can sync simultaneously through iTunes?

I am looking to see how many devices can sync simultaneously through iTunes. I know that you can only restore one device at a time, but you can sync content to two devices at the same time. Is there a limit to how many devices can sync simultaneously? Thank you for your help!

Thanks. I wasn't aware that you could have multiple iOS devices connected via WiFi at once. That didn't seem to work the last time I knew of anybody trying it, but obviously it was their setup, not a general limitation.
