Are there new plug-ins for my PowerBook G-4 to allow me to see utube and other videos?

Are there plug-ins for me to view videos and Utube videos? I am unable suddently to view either. Help!

I did go to the website and downloaded the adobe-flash. I also read the "read me" but I'm not sure I understood exactly what to do. I removed the old flash-player in the Library/Internet Plug-ins folder and just put it on my desktop; not sure what really to do with it. Instructions said to back it up, but I don't know how to do that. Should I have trashed it??? Then I closed the browser (Firefox); reopened it and went back to the site to see if has been installed correctly (I guess no); couldn't see the video and tested it again at uTube.
When attempting to play a uTube video, it asked me what "player". Looked in the Apps folder to see what I had: Quicktime, Real Time, and Windows Media Player. None worked. I'm still at a loss. I'm not a savvy tech person, so I might need more instruction if you're willing to help Texas Mac Man (I'm in TX, too).
One more thing, to put in the new plug-in, I just did a drag and drop into the folder.
What have I missed? I appreciate your help very much. This is my first time on the Support Communities.

  • What are the best Plug-ins for CS3?

Im a pretty new CS3 user and also not an expert. Just an old retired guy who always liked Graphics
and Type programs like Quark, PhotoShop, Illustrator, TypeStyler, etc. Have had InDesign CS3 about
2 months and LOVE it! (I currently have Illustrator and PhotoShop CS3s.)
Knowing that I like graphics, are there any graphics type plug-ins that would be good for me to
    add to my InDesign CS3?
    Thank you.

Teacup Software's Patternmaker is a must have. The price is certainly
right...it's free. If you really like it you can buy the additional
    PatternPack.

  • Is there any plug-ins for static code analysis in Jdeveloper

    Hi,
Is there any PMD, check style and static code analysis plug-ins available for JDeveloper? Those are available for Eclipse. How to achieve that in the JDeveloper?

  • What are the recommended plug-ins for HDR and Black and White?

What HDR and Black and White plug-in software does anyone suggest for Aperture 3?

There is a tremendous amount that can be done re: grayscale with Aperture's adjustments.  I'd look into those, first:
    - The "Black & White" Brick.  Keep the total of the percentages to 100 in order to not change the overall luminance much, but by all means play around until you understand what the sliders are doing.  Note that you can change the hues using the Color Brick (also WB, Tint, etc.), and use that to set up your conversion done with the B&W Brick.
    - The "Color Monochrome Brick.  Open up the color selector and skim the eyedropper cursor over the gray scale below the colors grid.
    - All of the Bricks which affect the luminance distribution (viz.: Exposure, Curves, H&S, Levels, etc.)
The Nik plug-ins are universally good (they are several, including NR, B&W, and HDR tools).  (I disapprove of the engorgement of filters, many of which do similar things and none of which specify what they actually do.)  If you end up with the Nik Suite, I suggest installing it as PS plug-ins, and using PS as your external editor (with, if you're up for it, each Nik tool assigned to it's own layer).  Using more than one Nik plug-in on the same image in Aperture yields an inelegant, possibly destructive workflow.

  • Are there QT plug-ins that Firefox/IE 7 must have?  Where?

We were trying to set up a streaming video URL. However, what worked last year didn't work this year.
But, then we realized that on our Windows boxes, we updated IE 7 and installed Firefox 2.0.0.1 -- but QT 7 was already installed before doing those updates.
If we tried to access the URL, IE would say the QT plug-in was broken and Firefox would just lock up.
So, I uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime and everything worked as expected.
So, it makes me wonder if there needs to be some kind of "order of installation" to make things work properly.
If not, is it a question that some QT plug-in files just need to be relocated? If so, any idea what files?
    Thanks!
    - Steve

Any browser plug-in should be installed so that any user and any browser can access it.
Some browser require their own settings adjustments to "find" or use these installed plug-ins and a quit and relaunch of any open browser must occur to use newly installed plug-ins.

  • Cinema 4D Lite - plug ins for?

Are there any plug-ins for Cinema 4D Lite on CC?
I see on Grayscalegorilla they do lots of cool plug-ins, but they are pretty much too powerful for this version, are there ANY decent plug-ins available to purchase for Lite?
    Thanks,
    Simon.

Okay, the City Kit perhaps, but don't get anyone started on their "shiny plastic" material presets or their Transform plug-in... anyway, it's a moot point. C4D Lite does not support any third party plug-ins because Maxon is blocking this stuff at the core. The want to sell full licenses, after all, you know...

  • Final Cut Pro similar plug-ins for iMovie?

I'd like some more functions for my current movie editing software (iMoive '09), are there any plug-ins for imovie that have FCP features? Features like multicam, screen on screen, split screen , green screen, after effects, hd camera support, etc....
I would just buy FCPX (maybe in the future, but not now) but I don't want to pay $300 + tax for an app with physical disk and packaging that I end up not liking, and I also don't have a credit card for the Mac App Store version. I would try torrenting it but I've heard some rumors of it crashing the whole computer, phising and what not. I'd rather take my chances with iMovie plug-ins than a pirated copy of FCPX.
I wish there was a cheaper version like how Autodesk does their whole express and pro versions (Sketchbook Express/Pro, AutoCad Express/Pro), I am aware that at one point there was a FCP Express that's now discontinued....

I appreciate that you don't have a credit card to use on the Mac App Store, but iMovie '11 is available for the paltry sum of US$14.99 - this latest version has some of the effects you are seeking, such as Picture in Picture, Side by Side and Green Screen. iMovie '09 may also have some of these features (I can't recall, as I've been using iMovie '11 for some time now).
Both iMovie '09 and '11 support HD cameras and a range of formats. If a format is not supported, it is relatively easy to convert clips to a suitable editing format for iMovie.
In Australia, cards (such as Visa) are available for a nominal value from the local supermarket. These can be safely used for internet purchases, given their specific value. So, you purchase a card for pretty much the exact value you require, make your purchase then destroy the card. I guess a similar thing is available in the US and other countries. That may be a good option for you if you wish to purchase apps from the Mac App Store.

  • Missing extensions/plug-ins for Safari.

So, I recently had a virus/malware scare and to take care of it (which I did) I got rid of all extensions/plug ins for Safari.
I've currently only got Adobe Flash Player, and nothing else which is really hindering me. I've looked all over but I can't find out what the plug-ins or extensions I need are.
The most recent issue was something about Audio Midi when I couldn't play an audio thing online while looking for guitar chords stuff.
After that gave it a shot by asking Apple, but the closest Apple store is too far to be worth driving to and I can't afford $50 or however much it is to get the info/links/whatever I need.

There's no need to install Safari extensions if you don't wan to, however, there might want to check out the extensions gallery. You may find something useful.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Safari Extensions ...
To avoid malware, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General
Make sure:  Mac App Store and identified developers  is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

  • Plug-Ins for iWeb?

iWeb out of the box is one of the weakest web authoring apps I've ever seen, 2nd only to FrontPage and that's pretty bad. Are there any plug-ins available that will add functionality to iWeb such as form support, tables, etc?
    Thanks.

There may be ways to add these features to sites created by iWeb (search the forum for forms or tables or whatever to see what people have come up with), but it sounds like you probably need something more advanced than what iWeb is designed to do. Luckily there are a large number of options. Here is one list:

  • Is there a plug-in for Indesign Interactive PDF buttons which simulates the same control as Acrobat?

I want to know if there is a third party out there making plug-ins for Indesign CS6 specifically for interactive PDF buttons and forms which allows for better control over text boxes.... ie. date formatting, 1-10 characters per text boxes, etc.

Not that I've heard of. You'll have to tweak those features in Acrobat Pro.

  • Eclipse plug-ins for ODSI

Are there ODSI plug-ins available that i can use on my eclipse environment instead of using workshop?

ODSI can be installed over an existing Eclipse, but it has to exactly match the Eclipse version 3.3.3 that comes with ODSI. The installer has an option to pick an external Eclipse.

  • Are there new updates for camera raw for Lightroom 4, or only for Lightroom 5, as in 5.3 ?

Are there new updates for camera raw for Lightroom 4, or only for Lightroom 5, as in 5.3 ?

There will be no further camera support updates for Lightroom 4 beyond what is already listed in this table.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Only current versions of Lightroom (currently Lightroom 5.3) will have further camera support added.
If you need to work with Raw files from new cameras you'll either have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 or join the Photoshop Photography Program (to get PC CC + LR5 + extras) or convert to DNG using Adobe's free DNG converter.

  • New AJAVideo Mac & Windows Plug-Ins for @Adobe CS6

    New #AJAVideo Mac & Windows Plug-Ins for @Adobe #CS6 now available! Read more http://bit.ly/IfTKL9 download http://bit.ly/JcwWfx

    First off - yay.
In the little amount of time I have had to test, the first thing I notice is that the video out to my ext. monitor seems to lag by a few frames from the program monitor in Pr.  AJA support is great in their help, but I'm wondering before I bother them, is anyone else seeing this - is there a setting to be tweaked?
Also, the video out is looking a touch soft to me - I have a Flanders Scientific Grade 1 monitor, so it is not the hardware.  I may need to test this a bit more with other footage, but it was my first impression.  Wonder if the settings here need to be tweaked as well.
I had visions that Transmit would output the hoverscrub, but it looks like you have to click on the clip and play back before it is displayed exernally.  But, on second thought, I don't know how that would be utilized, since the video out would have to suddenly switch every time you hover your mouse over the clips in the bins.
Having said all that, I am thrilled to finally have this driver!
