Are there problems when buying an old ipod touch 4G?
I want to buy a used iPod Touch 4G, and I wanted to ask some questions: Are there some problems while switching from the old user's Apple ID to mine? Can he control the iPod Touch remotely and block me? Can I unlock it by myself or must I request informations from him? If I must, wich informations must he provide? Thanks.
Just restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. Once you do that, the previous owner can't do anything. If the iPod has a screen passcode, just place the iPod in recovery mode and restore the iPod via itunes. For recovery mode see:

One the iPod is set up as a new iPod you can enter your Apple/iTunes ID and password and sync to your computer.

Probably very few if any. You should at least get your iPod touch to iOS 3.1.3, the final version a first-gen iPod touch can run if that's what you have. Then there will be at least a few games you can still run. For upgrading to iOS 3.1.3, see:

No but they usually have one every year. If I had know Id get a free ipod 2 years ago when I bought mine if I got a macbook I wouldve ditched the PC and purchased a macbook and got an ipod as well, it was more of a sarcastic remark and heads up for future possible promotions that seem to be routine, than an actual statement.

Before you restore the iPod from the backup that Dave had you make yu have to transfer stuff from the iPod to the computer since the backup does not contain the apps themselfes, music, synced phots and some other stuff. To see what a backup contains see:

Attempting to use bluetooth. My newly replaced 2nd generation iPod touch searches but never detect my wireless headphones which are right beside it. My old iPod had no problem detecting and connecting to the same headphones.
You can try:
- reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off an then backon your router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

I had an old ipod touch. I got a new one. I still have all of the music and apps on my itunes but I cannot sync it to my new ipod.
Are you sure you have iTunes set up to synch to your new iPod? The reason I ask is that by default, iTunes will not automatically synch to a new device. You have to go to the Apps tab and click Synch Apps, and do the same for Music, PodCasts, and so on....

I have an older iPod Touch, I bought a new one and the Itunes on my computer is too old to recognize my new iPod Touch and Itunes cannot be updated. Is there a creditable software program I can use to get all my old music from my old iPod Touch to the new one? I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

We develop webservices for IBM WAS 6.0 (java 1.4.2) with connection to oracle 9i and WMQ 5.3CDS12.
But now we want to change the environment to IBM WAS 6.1 (including java 1.5.0).
Are there problems if we develop webservices with 1.4.2 but using java 1.5.0 on websphere?
Or should we use java 1.4.2 on websphere app server 6.1? I think WAS don't run under 1.4.2?!

Hi. My itunes library is in current 10.5.2 but my old ipod touch 4th or 3rd gen is not updating at all its still in current 4.2 and there is some apps i cant download that requires a 4.3 update but in my itunes it wont. Please help!
Are you sure you have a 4g/3g iPod? If you don't have a camera, it's definitely not 4G. If it has no camera and is 8 or 16 Gb it is a 2G and can't go beyond 4.2.1.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
