The best method is to use Windows Easy Transfer first to backup all your data, and do custom clean install. And install all your apps and drivers afterwards.
Yes it should work. Make sure you are ready, and have all the latest drivers and applications ahead of time.

The problem that was solved here was a different problem actually, concerning different source code, in which the solution I offered above doesn't arise. The solution I offered here applied to the source code you posted here.

We use a Mac OS X Server (10.4.9) with Open Directory for authentication of the clients in our network. Furthermore, that machine serves home directories and mobile accounts.
Every now and then a client hangs during login: After submitting login information, the system does not respond anymore (shows 'hourglass'). A few minutes later, the login process continues.
The system log on the client contains the following lines:

Problem with call forwarding. Calls can not be forwarded for incoming external calls

Hi Everybody, how are you?
I have a problem with call forwarding. Everything was fine but now is not working.
In the reception of an office, the receptionist activate the call forward option to an internal extension. If somebody, internal in the office, call to the reception, the call is forwarding to the extension configured. But if I call from the outside (in example, from my cellphone) the call is not forwarded to the extension configured and continue ringing in the reception phone. Why this behavior? Any idea?

The phone syncs normally and I am sure I am connected to the internet properly. Also I have successfully updated ITunes software during this same time frame. What gives??

I recently purchased an iPod shuffle. After about 2 weeks the headphones went out on me. Thinking I just got a defective pair, I purchased a new set. Not two weeks after purchasing those, this set went out as well.
I don't blast my music, and both times it was the right ear bud that went out.
Thus, does anyone know if there is something defective with the iPod shuffles that cause the right ear buds to blow?
I have tried plugging the headphones into my laptop and yes, it is blown. I was thinking that after the second set of headphones went out, that maybe it was the shuffle itself, but it's not.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Are there problems with the 5g nano and previous games?

I just got the 5g nano to replace my video and i bought two 99 cent games because well, they were only .99. Chinese Checkers and Reversi. When i play the game, the screen keeps shifting. Before you say you are rotating it and the accelerometer is detecting it, this happens when it is laying flat on the table without me touching it. I'll make my move, and then the other people will go, and then it will point to my item that i want to move, only its not in the position its pointing at. If the board were flipped it would be correct. Kinda hard to explain, but if it happens to you, you will understand.

Problems with PPTP VPN server authentication - Could not retrieve key agent account information

Errr so far switching to a mac based server has been a mess. I have had it with permission issues!!
Here is my latest problem. After rebuilding the server several times my VPN clients can't connect. Every other time it has been fine but for some reason its just not working. I did recreate the vpn from a back up. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyway below is the error I am getting. Anyone have any idea what is causing it? unfortunately you are not alone, a lot of people have had problems incluiodng myselfm why did you updte in the first place? the best option is to roll back to old drivers and forget about update.

Using my Web.Mail account with demon (THUS). I can NOT login using Firefox but I CAN with (choke) Internet Explorer. The login names and passwords ARE correct.

Initially, the Demon support desk asked me to reset all my browsing history which did nothing.
I tried Internet Explorer (7.0.5730.11) and this too failed initially but after several tries, I managed to log in and collect my mails.
I then logged out and tried Firefox, which failed (Incorrect log in name or password).
I immediately tried IE again and got in first time.
In Firefox (TOOLS, OPTIONS, SECURITY, EXCEPTIONS), I set web.mail.demon.net to permit the site any access that might have been denied.
The user name and password ARE correct (that would be too easy) but Firefox seems not to send one of these correctly ??? or is not sending something I.E. does.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.
