Are there snAppShot limitations I'm hitting?

We are using Console One Version 3.2 SP2 and I am trying to create a
snappshot of an application that has over 129,000 files and when I try to
look at the distribution files I get an hourglass and never get another
screen or response. I have left it running from noon to the next morning!
I'm sure there is a limit but I need the proof. Does anyone know how to
show someone that this is just too big.
I've tried breaking it up to get it too work but it does the same thing
when I trimmed a 200,000 file push down to 90,000 files. I can't even
create an application object with the .AXT. It won't convert.
Any help on my limits and why I must upgrade will help me tremendously!
Thanks,
Rick

I would suggest downloading the ZFD 6.5 Trial and grabbing the Snapshot util
from there.
This MAY handle such an application and the AXTs generated will be usasble
for ZFD3.x if you select the Pre6.5 AXT format.
Most likely this application should not be delivered via a Snapshot.
I can guarentee that this ties too tightly into the Windows OS to
deliverable a reliable snapshot.
Some type of Automation of the install is most likely the course of action
you will need to take.

  • Are there any limitations in the Student Edition

    Hi,
    I just purchased the Student Adobe Creative Cloud. Are there any limitations? Also, can I put this on both of my personal computers, or just one? Thanks!

    Hi Anuj,
    You can install the application on 2 machines with 1 license.

  • Flash CS4 - Are there size limitations?

    Hello,
    Are there size limitations on movie clips? I'm trying to create a movie clip that will be masked for scrolling... it needs to be approx. 13,000 px tall, but I can't add anything past 3500 px. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Erin S.

    If your talking about an image that has been coverted to a movie clip symbol in flash, and not an actual movie clip like flv, mov, avi, etc. you could try just breaking it up into 13 pieces of a 1000px (or 26 of 500 etc.) then just add the next image to the stage with a frameEnter event or the like when scrolled to.

    As far as hardware restrictions, the only one I can think of is that you certainly need enough free space on your hard disk to accomodate the masters from your Aperture library.
    IIn which case, ensure all your masters are "referenced" in Aperture, and that you then go to Options in the Lightroom import box and import photos in their existing locations.

    Are there time limits onstreaming Itunes radio? If so, can it be disabled?

    Unfortunately the Time Capsule is missing the circuitry that the AirPort Express has that processes the AirTunes stream to get it out to your amp. So, whether the Time Capsule or your iMac is hosting the iTunes Library, in order for your amp to be able to use it, you will need the Express.

  • Are there practical limits on elements organizer catalog size?

    I have 90K items in my PSE11 organizer catalog. I'm running Win8 and I'm getting nervious that catalog size will become an issue. Backing up the catalog is cumbersome since it is 337G. If I need to break it up into smaller pieces, what is the best way to do this? Is there a bridge or link between catalogs? Thanks

    See:

    and:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Merging_Catalogs
    The only real problem with big catalogs is what you have found : it's long and tedious to do backups. From the above links you can see that it's a bad idea to split catalogs, unless there is nothing common within them. Contrary to Lightroom, the organizer offers no satisfactory solution to merge catalogs. And the size of the catalog has no real impact on the speed of your organizing.
    My suggestion would be to think about alternative backup procedures : anyway, if you want to upgrade to Lightroom, you'll have to choose your own backup system for picture files. LR only offers backups for the catalogs (database).
    - Once you know where your big catalog is stored (menu help / system info) it's easy to create a desktop shortcut so that you can save the catalog itself. That's very quick compared to the backup of all your files (several hours).
    - Consider using PSE incremental backups. I am not fond of them, but they are acceptable if you master the process : they save the database fully each time and let you restore to a given backup sesssion. Many users rely on incremental backups without understanding the process and are unable to do a complete restore in case of a big problem.
    - Consider using external backup tools (as if you were with Lightroom). They can be easier and they offer automatic and periodic backup workflows.  I am using Synctoy with Win7 and do periodic clones of my drives with Acronis
    - Continue to use the integrated backup procedure when you have to change OS, computer, drives... and migrate all your pictures and catalog.

  • Are there any limitations on the amount of content published using Adobe DPS?

    I can not find any information on this and i need to know if there are any as it might pose a problem regarding the publication i am currently looking to make.
    Also, why is there no way to contact customer service? I can not find any forms or e-mail adresses to inquire my questions.
    Best,
    Kim

    Bob,
    We created .IPA files and it behaves pretty much the same as Content Viewer:
    - With the small number of articles (about 30, some having up to 30 pages), it is stable even on iPad1, just a bit slow to render new pages with random browsing.
    But once we added more articles (the target is 150+ as this is the size of content we publish), at some point the app started crashing on both iPad1 and iPad3. The same is for the Content Viewer on iOS.
    I understand your concern as a reader, regarding lengthy articles (your earlier post in this thread). We created a secondary navigation UI to ensure every page in every article can be reached with no more than 3 taps, so it is supposed to be read in a WebSite-alike fashion.
    But, technically speaking, there seems to be a barrier that we are not aware of. This barrier prevents from creating complex and content-rich folios, as good as books created with Apple's iBooks Author. and possibly better.
    Given the lack of definite answers on this particular matter, I started to doubt: is Adobe really interested in supporting folks creating  publications like multimedia references with this product?
    If it appears that DPS/Folio is only suitable for simulating printed glossy magazines and corporate catalogs, than we might have chosen a wrong tool for the job
    But I still hope to get helped...
    Anyone???

  • Are there license limitations on Student and Teacher edition?

    I am a student in the UK and have been hoping to purchase Flash CS5.5 Student and teacher edition. However, I have been trying for some time to find out if I would be legally allowed to use the software for commercial use, and have never been able to find a certain answer. I have read through various forums and sites, and most seem to suggest that I can, however I haven't been able to find any information on the official adobe site, even in the Flash Professional license PDF. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me a certain answer (with source) or point me to where I would definitely be able to get an answer.
    Thanks!
    PS. It is worth noting that I am a UK resident, some sites have hinted at the license being different outside of the US, so UK specific information would be ideal.

    http://www.adobe.com/sea/special/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
    This link suggests that it is legal to use the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium commercially, which includes Flash:
    Can I use my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
    Yes. You may purchase a Student and Teacher Edition for personal as well as commercial use.

  • Are there limitations to running queries inside of transactions?

    I'm seeing altered or no results when running under a transaction:
    context = getXmlManager().createQueryContext();
    XmlQueryExpression.execute(XmlTransaction, XmlQueryContext, XmlDocumentConfig)where:
                TransactionConfig txnConfig = new TransactionConfig();
                txnConfig.setNoWait(false);
                txnConfig.setSync(true);
                transaction = getXmlManager().createTransaction(null, txnConfig);and         XmlDocumentConfig docConfig = new XmlDocumentConfig();
            docConfig.setLockMode(LockMode.RMW);
            docConfig.setLazyDocs(false);The XmlContainer and Environment are transactional. There are node indexes on these containers.
    If I use: XmlQueryExpression.execute(XmlQueryContext, XmlDocumentConfig) all is fine.
    My test conditions are single threaded dbxml 2.2.13 on Windows 2003 Server. Later I'll need to run multi-threaded.
    Any thoughts (aside from upgrade)?
    Known, confirmed problem?
    Are there any limitations to what can be inside of a query that is run inside a transaction?
    Can the query span containers?
    Any impact from setDefaultContainer?
    Does document{ } work any differently?
    Do FLWR queries behave differently?
    Thanks in advance,
    Douglas Moore

    John,
    I'm actually pointing out a functional difference while running with a single threaded non-stressful unit test.
    The inner <report> elements do not show up when transactional api is used.
    Inlining the FLWOR expression does not change the situation.
    I now have the 6 patches applied to dbxml 2.2.13 and see the same results as an unpatched dbxml library.
    My query looks like:
    declare function local:get_ordered($max_reports as xs:decimal)
            for $reports in collection("per-system.dbxml")/reports-catalog/report
                            where $reports/@type = "ABC"
            return $reports
    document{
    <reports-catalog xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
            xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.persistable.org/reports-catalog.xsd"
            mime-type="application/pdf" sequence="65241390550" id="ABC">
                    local:get_ordered(1)
    </reports-catalog>
    } Thanks,

  • What are the size limitations, if any? Best practices?

    Are there any limitations on the size of the Spiceworks database (including knowledge base), outside of the system it lives on, or a point at which it might begin to affect performance?  If so, is there an archive feature, or is the solution deleting old tickets and kb articles?

    Hi Astrid,
    Thanks for reaching out.It could be a out of memory issue.
    If you increase the memory that SAP Predictive Analysis is allowed to consume.
    Go to the location where SAP Predictive Analysis was installed. In my case it is:
    C:\Program Files\SAP Predictive Analysis\Desktop
    Here you find a file "SAPPredictiveAnalysis.ini" - open this in Notepad and change the
    "-Xmx" parameter to approximately half of our PC/laptops memory.
    For instance in your case you could try with: -Xmx4096m
    I have outlined this is a few more steps here:

    Hope it works for you.

  • Why are there limited view movies on iTunes Store

    Why are there limited view movies on iTunes Store?
    Hi, I want to rent a movie from my iTunes Store on my Apple TV
    The movie called "friends with benefits"
    And more movies and it's write to me on the top in the right size "limited"
    Why??
    My age is 23 and all the deitals are true and ok
    What I need to do???

    Right now, you can only get movies and tv shows if you are in the U.S. or you have a bank account and address in the U.S. Or if you get a gift certificate that is from the U.S. you can access it that way. But if you use an out of the country bank, address or buy a non us gift certificate you are out of luck. What I mean by U.S. gift certificate is one that is purchased in the U.S. or over the net with a U.S. credit card drawn on a U.S. bank. Hope this helps, and sorry. I am an American as well and live in Mexico, and took me awhile to figure it out.

  • Are there any magic numbers in credit limits?

    Wondering if different credit limits for an individual account, or overall total limit, has any impact on underwriting or on score.
    Back when I had under six months of credit history, before I could get a FICO, the FAKO from Amex used to tell me one thing helping my score was "you have built a strong relationship with lenders" which I took to mean I had some high limit cards (I was able to get two based on my Canadian credit, at that time $8000 on an Amex and $11000 on my RBC visa).
    Since then I have always wondered whether there are magic numbers in credit limits from a scoring or underwriting perspective.
    I hear "high limit" described differently but a common number I hear is a limit over $5000. I hear that over $25000 on an Amex and you may be asked to verify income.
    And are there any overall magic numbers? Do you wind up in a different bucket if your overall limit is $50k or $100k?
    I know it impacts utilization but is there any other impact? What about fit human underwriting, any common practices there?
    Thoughts?

    Thoughts?I am not aware of any "magic numbers" for score based solely on credit limit $$$. They scores focus on % of credit utilized. On a side note, some posters have said that high limit cards (either over $35k or $50k) are excluded from card specific utilization calculations. See below table for getting a CL on a new card.

  • Are there limits on how long timelaps films made in PS6 can be?

    Are there limits on how long timelaps films made in PS6 can be?
    I'm trying to create a timelaps but PS6 does not include all the images in sequence 0001 to 1360? It simply creates a movie in 27 seconds and cuts out the 400 latest pictures!

    Along the lines of Brett's question and comments, it is good practice to Scale Still Images to just what will be needed by the Project's (term from Premiere, the Adobe Video editing software) Frame Size.
    Unused pixels require processing overhead, and as they will not be used in the Video, are unnecessary. It does not take all that many overly-large Still Images, to choke even a stout workstation, with Video.
    This article is based on, and directed at Premiere, but much of the Video handling in PS is probably based, at least partially, on some of that code: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/450798?tstart=0
    Remember, it was written FOR Premiere, and uses PS to Scale the Images. In your case, it could be a two-step process - Scale with PS first, then assemble the Video n PS.
    Unlike printing of Still Images, Video does not care about DPI, or PPI. It is ONLY about pixel x pixel dimensions, and the necessary dimensions are set by the Video Frame Size. Unless you are Panning on a Zoomed Out Still, having more pixels, beyond, say 1920 x 1080 (HD Video resolution), just requires horsepower, and those extra pixels do nothing for your Video.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
