Are there still apps compatible with iPod 4th generation?

I recebtly purchased my daughter a 4th Generation iPod touch but have not opened it yet. I was told that there are no longer many apps compatible with this iPod. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks!

Hey mende,
Wouldn't you say that, at this point in time, all of the applications are compatible?
Cheers,

  • Are there any Apps compatible with Aventail VPN?

My corporate network uses Aventail VPN. I know the Macs are able to access my desktop, but so far I have not seen an iPhone App which does as well and my IS department is not very pro-Apple, or helpful. Are any of the VPN apps for the iPhone compatible with Aventail?

SonicWall finally released the app as of Nov 30 2011:

  • My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

The above comment is not helpful to me, and I'm also guessing many people, but who knows. I've seen the same recommendation in many, many threads on this same topic, but only once have I seen that the resolution solved the problem for anyone, unless those people didn't follow up. Anyway,I found the below comment which made sense and may be the source of the issue. Too many apps running in the background - turn them off or simply do a hard reset to kill them all at once.

Apparently, ios closes apps it can't (or thinks it can't) run because of too few RAM available. Double-press the home button and close any still running apps in the background. There are apps that serve to clear up some of your RAM. You will need to do this every once in a while, though.
Clearing disk space will also help - remove any files you don't need/use and try to keep a clean disc in overall.

  • Are there any games on an ipod 2nd generation that will download?

are there any games on an ipod 2nd generation that will download? my daughter was given one from a family member and we haven't been able to download any apps to it. It tells me I need to update by OIS. But you can't for this generation. Does any games work ?

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was releases, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • HT1212 HELP with iPod 4th Generation ..

so i forgot my password to my ipod 4th generation and the home button is messed up and the screen is cracked, what can i do ?
i have not connected it to itunes in about a year and a few months and i no longer have the computer i first connected it to

Place the iOS device in recovery mode using one of these programs
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
and then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT4623 is there an update for the ipod 4th generation with ios7

Is there an update for ipod touch 4th generation w/ ios7?

As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod. Not enough RAM
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • Retrieving Previous Versions of Apps Compatible With iPod Touch 2nd Gen

    Hi
I have an ipod touch second generation ipod.  I did a factory reset on it to see if that would resolve some power consumption issues.
The current version of Find my iPhone is not compatible with this generation ipod.  I've scoured my Time Machine and Backup arcives, but they do not go back far enough to get me to a 2011 version of this app.
Is there any way to obtain prior versions of applications?
    AS

No, except from your own backups, which don't contain them.

  • Are there any displays compatible with 14" iBook G4???

I've been doing a lot of video editing etc. on my computer for a while now and school work is piling up. I'm planning on getting an iMac next summer but I would really like to be able to use my ibook as a desktop computer. From what I have read none of the displays that apple currently sells are compatible with ibooks because of the graphics card or something. I found out though that you can have a display connected and use both screens. But is there a way that you can have your computer running and closed with an external display to use the computer like on all the new macbooks? I don't need it to be a apple monitor or anything i just need to know if there is any solution..

as a guess, any LCD with VGA input supposed to work thru a little VGA adapter that comes with the iBook.
you could probably work with the display lowered if there is something (thin plastic etc) is placed between the base and the display, sleep is activated by the magnetic switch in the display and the magnet at the base
working with the display lowered could cause heat issues probably, maybe not a good idea

  • Are AIR touch apps compatibles with the Samsung SUR40 ?

We are planning to develop a multitouch AIR application (AIR 3.2 SDK) for our client.
This application will be deployed for an interactive table inside a show room.
We are particularly interested in buying the Samsung SUR40 (os : Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems x64).
Can Adobe confirm that AIR developement is compatible with this table or do we have to use the Microsoft Surface SDK to reach good performances ?
    Thanks,
    Flo

    Hi,
I can also confirm that Flash AIR runs perfectly fine on the Samsung SUR40. Although I only got it to run when running in regular win7 mode. Haven't got it running from the Surface mode yet. But even in regular win7 mode you can use flash.ui.Multitouch and get access to up to 50 simultaneous touchpoints.... It's awesome!

  • Maverick compatible with iPod 4th and 5th generation?

When I connect IPod nano 4th generation to my iMac iTunes says it is synched. But it has not. How do I get it synched and then import videos from the nano to the iMac?

I made an error in posting my question. It should have read as  follows:
When I connect iPod nano 5th generation to my iMac, iTunes says it is synched. But it has not. How do I get it synched and then import videos from the nano to the iMac?

  • Problem with IPOD 4th generation

I plugged in my brand new touch 4th generation and on the screen it shows a white USB cable pointing to an itunes icon.  The battery appears to be fully charged but I cant even get the home screen to appear.  Brand new out of the box.  Any thoughts?

Download iTunes to your computer, then plug in your iPhone to the computer, jut as the icon shows, and set it up. You will need to create an Apple ID and password.
Then don't download iTunes and don't create an Apple ID but follow the remainder of the recommendation.

  • Are iphone 4s apps compatible with ipad 2

I just bough an iPad 2 & sync'd it w/iCloud.  Some of the apps don't seem to work very well on the iPad.  I was playing a game on the iPad & the touch screen wasn't working all of the time.  I hope this makes sense.  I would appreciate any feedback.

Theoretically they should be (although there may be some issues with 3G apps not working on a non-3G device)
However you do stand to deal with iPhone only apps being tinier on the screen...as in taking up the middle of your iPad screen. You can tap a 2X button to make them fill the screen, some just look better than others because they were optimized for a lower resolution.
What you want to look for are apps with a + on their download button. THat signifies universal devices that scale up or down dependant upon the device.

  • HT1947 Is the current Remote app compatible with iPod Touch 4.2.1?

This KB article says so, but iTunes will not load the current version of Remote onto a 2g 4.2.1 iPod Touch.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1947
I unfortunately had to restore my 2nd Gen iPod Touch, and in doing so, iTunes indicated that several existing apps were not compatible; including Remote. I do not have an older version of the Remote app in my back ups.
Would it be safe to assume that the KB article is incorrect? I sure would like to find a source for an older compatible version of Remote. I use this older Touch primarily for that purpose and it is disspaointing that it has now lost functionality.
    Brian

think the problem is that the older versions will work if one have them
but one can't get them again if one does not
