Are there tools that let you dim one screen instead of both?

I have a multi monitor system and when I'm watching movies I'd like to dim the screen not showing the movie.
I found [this tool](https://github.com/stereohead/darkscreen), but it's transparency doesn't work. I use compton and I can use compton-trans to set the transparency of the window, but the default
transparency doesn't work. Even with transparency I don't like the tool because you cannot click through to background windows.
Does anyone know of a tool that will let me dim select monitors?

I'll look into that, but it seems to conflict with redshift.

One obvious answer is screen sharing, if you permitted it.
Check your System Preferences > Sharing settings.
There are other ways, but it would help if you explain your reason for asking.

Preferably also make that work with profiles, so I've got one profile for Headphones & one for External Speakers...

Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 Do as Mylenium told you. If you don't know where it is. Go to www.adobe.com, sign in, search for the cc cleaner tool downloader and it should fix the issues. Have you went into your control panel, under programs and features and removed it from there?

I got the splitter, (see link below), but the mic does not seem to work. Apparently, there's a difference between a mic port and a line-in port. Mic ports are powered by the computer, line-in ports are not. They expect a powered signal to come from the input device. The iMac has a line-in port.
I downloaded an app called Line-in that is supposed to give back the ability to use unpowered mics with Macs that lost the abiliy after a system update. It did not work for me. I guess my iMac never had the ability to use unpowered mics.
So I ordered the USB Stereo Audio Adapter below. It's basically a sound card that plugs into a USB port and will work with an unpowered mic. It has not arrived yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

Please add an option (maybe in next update schedule) that will let us to choose a different browser not the default.
Adobe Cloud ,Behance also Prosite are very weak implemented on the Internet Explorer.

Thank you for the attention given! I know this ... CCloud,Behance,Prosite go very well with Chrome;Firefox browsers(I use also on this browsers).
In case that will set Chrome or Firefox as the default browser I'll lose modern (metro) Internet Explorer... I don't want to loose this browser because is using on different stuff...a taste option.
I try question more like an suggestion to Adobe (maybe a future thinking option) but my English writes are weak ..

The various Lynda.com video tutorials are very good, but you have to pay for a description. The Photoshop User TV podcasts are excellent; there are hundreds of them, and they are free. They are also what the iPad was invented for.
The 'You suck at Photoshop' videos on YouTube are both very funny and very instructive.
The Scott Kelby books are very good for folk starting out. The Martin Evening, and the Martin Evening/Jeff Schewe books are as good as they get from a photography point of view. The Steve Caplin books are the best Photoshop books once you get into it, but Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski do some great medium to advanced books. Matt's Compositing Secrets is excellent, and was Amazon's best Photoshop book for a while.

On the home screen of the itunes store on the right hand side - there used to be an option that let you choose songlists - lists of certain songs made by itunes users - for example workout songs, love songs, date night songs, songs to run by ....

I believe this was part of the iTunes "Ping" feature, which has been removed since iTunes 11.

Select a Finder window, Finder->View->Customize Toolbar…, and add it back.

Anyone else think it is wrong to only let you make one recovery of your computor

anyone else think it is wrong that hp only let you make one back up of your operating sys then say if it is lost or damaged you have to buy a new one, beore they used to give you a disk when you bought your compuer with no restrictions on how many copies now it comes with your comp and you can only back it up once,even though its new and people have accidents or lose thing. Compters are expencive and they should not restrict people on how many copies they make as they only work on that compuer any way??

I have only used the recovery media once on my PC. Mainly to see if it work rork. I have both DVD's and Flash recovery.
I always have several back up images on two different external drives. I have images with factory setting and images of current images. I use Macrium Reflect. IMHO that is the only way to go. I have never had any problems restoring my OS with Macrium Reflect. I have been doing it for years and not one failure. My recovery media would be the last offence, but it's nice to know that it's there.

Found an app that lets you use PS Touch in Portrait.

I found an app called "GMD Smart Rotate" that lets you use PS Touch in Portrait orientation, even with the tablet upside down( good for some covers the are hinged on the botttom). The app is supposed to use your front facing camera to detect your eyes to tell whether you are holding the tablet horizontally or vertically(good for when lying down and looking up at the tablet). Although I could not get this main feature to work, the app also has the ability to force an app into landscape or portrait even if it was not programmed too. I tested it with Touch and it seems to work fine. All the menus and tools are still accessible and I have not found any problems so far. It also has a feature like smart stay on samsung devices(paid version). The app is availible in the Play Store. There is a free and paid version.
I'm currentely only using the free version on a Galaxy Note 10.1 running ICS. Another problem checked off my issues with PS Touch list. Now if only they added .psd layer support and more brushes I'll be set.

Are there installations that do not require an Administrator Password?

I just installed the Camino web browser onto Leopard. I was suprised when Leopard did not ask for an Admin Password when installing it. I then simply downloaded another program and was able to install it without the Admin prompt. Leopard DID let me know that it was downloaded from the internet and if I "wanted to run it" but it just did not ask for the Admin stuff. Are there programs that Leopard does not ask Passwords for? If so, what is the criteria where it asks for a password?

Some installers will work fine even if you don't provide an admin password. Apple officially recommends that application installers require an admin password. This gives that installer, software, and software developer complete control over your machine. Many application will work fine just with a drag-and-drop installer, but such installers are no longer recommended by Apple. It is possible to construct an installer that does not require an admin password but few people do it, and for good reason. The installer is a flaky beast at best and a smart developer doesn't want to take risks with it like that. So, the answer to your question is that the criteria is just that "Apple says so".
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. It is mostly a rant. I don't like the admin password requirement at all. I really don't like the recent recommendation of using the Apple installer for all applications. It is a safe bet that you will see fewer and fewer drag-and-drop installations in the future. Pretty much all installers will require your admin password. Pay attention to what they are installing because they can literally do whatever they want and wreak havoc with your system the next time you update your system.
