Are these Chargers good for an iPod?

Hey everyone. Listen, today I went in town and had some time to buy some stuff.
Now i needed a charger for my iPod Touch 4G. I didn't buy the one from apple with 30 euro, i just got something else, that should do the same job.
But I'm a bit unsure that it's working well.
On the back if I can read:
Input: 100-240VAC
          0.3A 50-60HZ
Output: 5VDC---1A
And the one for the car is like:
Input: 12-24Vdc
Output: 5.0Vdc --- 700mA
Now I don't know if this is healthy for the iPod. Is it? o.O
I used the one for the car (and i think the iPod is heating). That doesn't look good...
Is this my imagination? or do these things really hurt the iPod?
One other funny thing that happens. When I used these chargers, for some reason, the Audio disappears. If I open up music and so on, the volume level bar is vanished.... is that normal?
Anyway, the main question is: Are these things safe??? o.O
Thanks

I use a basic Samsung phone charger for my Ipod Touch. It outputs the same 5.0v --- .7 A.
When it overheats, thats just the battery charging.
I've used the same charger on all my ipods for 3 years now.... and they all have continued to work just fine...
You can use them safely.
Other then that, I have absolutley no idea why your audio bar may dissapear. It's most likely a powersaving feature... In otherwords, check your settings.
Hope This Helps

  • Are car chargers bad for the iPod battery?

There are a lot of companies that sell iPod chargers that plug into your car's cig lighter to charge the battery. Do car charges mess up the batteries?

I don't know why they would. Many people use them on a daily basis and i haven't heard any complaints.

  • What exactly are the updates good for on an ipod

I ask because mine is windows format, and im having trouble transferring all the metadata off my ipod with senuti to a back up so that i can reformat the ipod to mac and then sync in my senuti backed up library. I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly are the updates that you get. my ipod is 1.2 5thgen.
If i were to have the latest update would i be able to see album cover art view when the ipod is plugged into itunes? I noticed that i can see that view in library mode but not in ipod mode. (my pod isnt synced)...
so what are these updates good for?

    hey thanks for your reply.
I do have it set to manual and i can see the art on the ipod by itself, but even with manual transfer itunes wont let me view the artwork modes unless i am playing off my computers library (which doesn't have the songs on my ipod on it). I called apple earlier today and some tech support guy claimed that itunes does not support this feature. Is this correct? can anyone out there see artwork modes on an unsynced ipod through itunes?

  • TS3274 Videos won't play.  Not YouTube or any other videos.  I also have no sound.  Are these common failures for a three year old gen 2  iPad?

Videos won't play.  Not YouTube or any other videos (just started today).  I also have no sound, keypad clicks, shutoff click, etc.  Are these common failures for a three year old Gen 2 iPad?

For the issue with the videos that will no longer work, try closing all apps and then reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
For the issue with sounds, you have system sounds muted.
Check the side switch above the volume rocker on the side of the iPad. Flip it the other way and see if you get sound from the apps, keyboard clicks, etc.
If not, double tap the home button to bring up the task bar at the bottom. In the task bar swipe all the way to the right. Look on the far left side and see if there is a speaker icon. If there is, tap it and see if the sounds on apps come back. Then tap the home button.
You can change how the side switch works to either lock screen rotation or to mute system sounds. You can go to Settings>General>Set Side switch to Lock Rotation or mute. If you choose mute, the switch will turn off apps sounds. Otherwise you use the task bar as described above to mute those sounds.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Are the Imacs good for Graphic Design/Illustration work?

I work as a digital illustrator so I spend all day at a monitor. I'm thinking of replacing my powerbook and am leaning towards a 20" Imac.
Does anyone else here use their Imac for professional graphic design or illustration work? How does it measure up?
I've seen many posts about poor screen quality. Should I steer clear of the Imac, or are the screens adequate for design work? At the moment I use a 17" Apple studio display (the old stripey framed kind) which is fine for my needs. How does the Imac screen compare to this?
Is it easy to connect an external monitor (I'd use my Apple Studio Display as a 2nd screen) and can you set them up so they create a giant screen area - i.e. not just 'mirrored'? I already have a VGA to DVI adaptor so presumably this is all I'd need to hook up my 2nd screen?
Is the 24" Imac screen quality much better than the 20"?
Sorry, so many questions! Any advice or opinions much appreciated - Many thanks.

To answer your first question yes they are great for digital illustration. However this will depend on how color accurate your work requires. The only downside I have found with the 20" iMacs is narrow viewing angles. This will be nothing new to you since you have the older 17" studio display. The 24" iMacs are all around absolutely stunning and have much better viewing angles however I have seen a lot of them(including mine) that have some degree of uneven back lighting. If you live anywhere near an Apple store or reseller I would recommend that you go into the store and actually use both of the machines for some period of time and see for yourself how you like it. Bring some of your illustrations from home on a flash drive to see how they look. Otherwise IMO these machines are superb. I love my 24" and it runs CS3 Apps amazingly fast.
If your 17" studio display has the ADC(Apple Digital Connector) then you will have to purchase the power supply adapter to make it work. If you are unsure if it qualifies or not just look and see if your display has it's own power plug. If not then you will need this adapter for $99. IMO it's not worth it as you could put the $100 bucks toward a new display.

  • Direct Access Management Servers, what are the entry good for?

In the advanced Direct Access setup wizard you have the ability to enter your management servers. I haven't been able to find an explanation of why, what is it good for? If I understand everything correct DA gives full access to the subnet so why is it of
interest to list some servers as "management servers"?

    Hi,
Management servers are servers that you are able to access from the da client Before logged on as a user.
Your domain controllers are by default infrastructure servers, but in many cases you want to add for example SCCM, NAP and other servers to be accessable prior logon.
If you are using the manage-out functionality in DirectAccess, and want to access a client prior anyone is logged on, the management server is also needed there.

  • Newbie ? Are these settings normal for K7T Turbo2?

    Greetings All,
First I would like to say I really enjoy this forum. I have learned much. Also I would like to say that I am fairly new at putting together systems so if my questions are basic please forgive me. Thanks for your patience and your willingness to teach. OK, here is my system and my questions:
    K7T Turbo2 v.5
    Duron 800
    2 sticks 128meg = 256
PSU Sparkle 300w; 150w combined (according to sales slip)
    Asus 7100 Geforce 2mx 32 meg
    SB 128 pci sound card
    Western D 80gig special
    Acer 52x CD
    LiteOn 48x12x48
    Win 98se
    Most curent VIA drivers
I think that about covers it.
    The questions:
    1) I have seen a lot of discussion about voltage seetings so I am wondering if mine are normal? They are as follows:
    Vcore = 1.55v
    5v = 5.05v
    3.3v = 3.27v
    12v = 11.60v
    2) This may need to be in the BIOS group but what are the optimum seetings for this board and my stuff?
    3) When I boot up I notice that just about all my hardware is using IRQ11. Is this normal?
    4) A while back I saw a lot discussion about ACPI. Is it best to use it or not? If you turn it off do you have to reload your OS?
I think that about does it for now. Thanks again for your help.
    Dave

    Ian,
Not that I am very technical and do sometimes get mixed up in my own settings...
I got a canon A1 and use the easy set up for HV 1080i50 on interlaced footage
and 1080p25 for the '25f' footage. When using the de-interlaced filter I hit the
upper field and I am having a major headache from time to time with sequence
settings and field dominance in particular with interlaced footage but do experiment
quiet abit to my even larger frustration. I do find the '24f' frames quite pleasant to
look at - maybe it is just because it is easier to work with I dont know, but interlaced
got a reputation of being difficult.
Likewise as far as I am aware then the '25f' canon setting is as good as progressive
some will even say 'same'. check out more here

  • There are these static boxes on my iPod and don't want to come off.

Can someone please help me? There are these static boxes on the top part of my screen that don't want to come off, and i don't know what to do.

I suspect a hardware problem but try the following to rule out a software problem
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings if you can
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Are these reasons good enough to exchange my iPod Classic 120GB?

Hey all, I had purchased an iPod Classic Sliver 120GB about 3 days ago, and I have had some issues with it but I don't know if it is like this or a dud. So I will list off the problems\issues I have:
    1) The battery has had to be recharged about 7 times in 3 days, so the battery life is not 36 hours of audio, is this a bad battery? I have conditioned the battery since I got it or does it just need to build up its capacity?
    2) There are atleast 3 dead pixels, is this common?
    3) Clickwheel Sensitivity, now I am coming from an iPod Video 5.5Gen and the sensitivity was GREAT, so is this just like a new thing or is it bad?
I love my iPod and its not an iPod Video but it works...
So Please give me some advice as to what I should do with my iPod because I am going to keep it atleast 2-3 years like my video and I don't need a dud for that long so any help is awesome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cody

    Hello and welcome to discussions;
as the other poster suggested, dead pixels on a new ipod are not acceptable and warrants an exchange. Don't forget, whilst quality, ipods are still mass produced now and errors can happen.
The battery life depends on usage; see related apple help:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html
My ipod lasts for about a week, but I got to admit, I followed the advice of charging the new "classic" with my old ipod AC charger prior to very first use. It works like a dream on USB now (I think, the first charge seems critical!)

  • Are these any good TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

    Hi,
Just looking to replace the HH3 as I find my speed slows right down until rebooted. Once I have done this it works great for a few days and then slows right down again. I am only rebooting the HH3 and the modem stays on so makes me think it is the unit. Just wondering what experiences other people have out there and wheather the above box would be any good to replace the HH3 with.
    Thanks for any help.

If you access via BT Wifi, you should be able to view it as well, although sometimes my reverse DNS lookup fails on some of these subnets, but I am keeping a watch to see which ones are failing.
Unfortunately, opening up the website to the whole world, results in an exponential increase in bandwidth due to linking by search engines, attacks by hackers and other issues as well.
