Are these hedphones any good?

I am buying a Nano and i heard that iPod's don't come with really good headphones so i found these
Sennheiser Open Aire Dynamic Stereo Ear Bud Headphones - MX 500W at Best Buy.com, anyone have any feedback on these, i heard a lot of good things about this brand so i'm assuming that these headphones are better then the ones that will come with my Nano.
Best part is i get them for almost %50 off.

  • Are these specs any good for Premiere CS4?

I have just bought Cs4 and it doesn't run very well on my computer that ran CS3 perfectly!
    Is this normal?
So, I looked into upgrading my computer to these specs- can you give helpful suggestions please!
PS I would like to run CS4 and Magic Bullet Looks
    MSI Neo P45 motherboard RAID
    Intel Core2Duo E8500 3.16 GHz CPU
    4 GB DDR2 800 Mhz RAM
2x 1 TB Samsung 32 Mb cache Sata2 Raid stripe.
    LG GGW-H20L Blu-Ray writer
    Gigabyte GV-N95TOC Geforce 9500GT 1Gb Graphics
Using your existing case, power supply and 32bit Vista. thanks scott!!!

Your specs do look good enough, at least for DV. Working with DV footage should allow you to have smooth video.
But people like me doing HDV work are having a lot of stutter/freeze problems. The Program window is giving this trouble on playback. You may see your Source window as able to play smoothly, but that is raw video and tech support confirms it processes video differently than for the Program window.
CS4 lacks a switch that CS3 had to select whether to use GPU acceleration. According to phone tech support, that is trouble for a lot of people.
Further, CS4 while trying to "automatically" decide if and how to use the GPU (graphics card processor), will not accept OpenGL 3.0. Ironically, the advice to me was to roll back to old drivers, that were 2.0 (or 2.1) compliant, as that would supposedly throw the "invisible switches" correctly inside PPro CS4.
However, rolling back did not help me. I also have RAID 0, but I have a single core 3.8 GHz processor, so my problems are acute, and CS4 is unusable for me.
Even people with Quad cores are having playback stutter problems (I think usually mostly with HDV).
That's incredible!! What was Adobe thinking when they released this software with such a performance slowdown compared to CS3?

  • Are 'cheap' replacements any good?

    Hello all,
I've seen a few cheapish relacement batteries on ebay (around £45) although the Newertech ones mentioned in these discussions retail for about £100 - I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried a cheap battery to know if it is any good, or is it a case of you get what you pay for?

The standard Tibook battery is rated at 4400 mAh, not 4000, and the NewerTech batteries are rated at 4800. So a battery that starts off at 3700 is only at 84% of standard capacity and 77% of NuPower capacity. A standard battery that's been used enough so it only offers half the original 4400 is often barely usable, and may not produce accurate charge readouts or the normal pre-sleep warning that you're running on reserve power. So the useful lifetime of a standard battery extends, in practice, from when it's new until it's down to about half its original capacity. I don't know anything about the cheap batteries being offered on Ebay, and maybe at less than half the price of a NuPower, they're worth buying. But I think normnod is wise to rely on his only as a backup, not as his only battery.

  • Are these signal numbers good?

I just setup my new dual band AEBS and a couple of AXs for Airtunes. I initially had dropouts, so I changed the 5 GHz channel down a couple of values and the dropouts are gone. I had AirTunes going all night on New Years Eve and no dropouts occurred.
I'm not sure how to interpret the numbers shown in the logging area of AirPort Utility and was wondering if someone can tell be if these numbers are good.
Each of my AX show the same numbers and they are:
    Signal: -24
    Noise: -95
    Rate: 270
Also, what does Rate mean? None of this is documented anywhere that I could find.
    Thanks for your help!

    Excellent performance.
The theoretical limit of a 5 GHz wireless network is 300 Mbps, so 270 Mbps is really quick.

  • I have discs but no longer have the laptop. Are they any good to anyone?

Hi, all. While cleaning out my garage (doesn't everyone do this over the Holiday break?) I ran across the box that my laptop came in, and inside were all the original OS X installation discs and reinstall discs. Are these of any use to anyone? I no longer have the laptop, nor do I know where it is. Can anyone advise?

    Welcome to the Apple forum.
The disks are usually specific to the computer, so you can probably trash them. They would not work on any computer.
Also, since you are running Cheetah, you would have done better posting in the 10.3 and earlier forum:

  • Are these any good TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

    Hi,
Just looking to replace the HH3 as I find my speed slows right down until rebooted. Once I have done this it works great for a few days and then slows right down again. I am only rebooting the HH3 and the modem stays on so makes me think it is the unit. Just wondering what experiences other people have out there and wheather the above box would be any good to replace the HH3 with.
    Thanks for any help.

Sorry - You must be connected to BT Broadband or the BT network to use this website
My website is running on a private server and is restricted to BT Broadband and those connected to the BT network, as its intended as a help site for forum members.
If you access via BT Wifi, you should be able to view it as well, although sometimes my reverse DNS lookup fails on some of these subnets, but I am keeping a watch to see which ones are failing.
Unfortunately, opening up the website to the whole world, results in an exponential increase in bandwidth due to linking by search engines, attacks by hackers and other issues as well.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

Apple original used Verbatim as its own DVD blank, and Taiyo Yuden is one of the best companies producing writeable media.
I have Taiyo Yuden CD Rs from back in 1994.
And DVD Rs for about six years.
    Give them a try.

  • These App's that clean up dish space, are they any good?

I've been looking through the App Store and found lots of different Apps' that say they can clean up old files and other items off a Mac to help free up space.  One of them is called AVG Cleaner which is free in the App Store.  Are these App's and good and can they help free up space or could they cause problems for the working of the Mac?

Pretty much stay away from them. They really aren't usually necessary:
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

  • Are there any good tutorials on how to do digital paintings?

I have some drawings of mine that I wanted to turn into digital paintings. I can't find any good tutorials on YouTube. This is an example of something I would like to learn:

    These are my favourite
    http://www.ctrlpaint.com/
Digital Tutors has some good stuff
    http://www.digitaltutors.com/11/index.php?gclid=CNaF38q14MMCFQpwvAodMJwAbg
But you need to register an account for both of them.  Lots of titles out there if you look though.
The Bert Monroy titles on Lynda.com are also very good, but a slightly different style.  More illustration that digital painting.  Take a look at his huge Times Square graphic to see what he does.  Zoom way way in to see the incredibly detail
    Times Square
Loads of of tips and tricks in Steve Caplin's 'How to Cheat in Photoshop', and even better '100% Photoshop'.
Good luck and have fun.  By far the most enjoyable way to use Photoshop in my opinion.

  • How good are these tools?

I got to know about these tools which help the organizations to select the right ERP software for their operations and normally it directs towards SAP if it is a manufacturing organization and towards Oracle if it is a telecom organization. • Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap). Any ideas?

Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap and doesn't provide any kind of professional DVD authoring). Any ideas?

This comes up a lot these days.
Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100),  Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent),  find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd  party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.
    Good luck.

My account keeps asking for Region but the drop down menu lists Cities in China. I can,'t cange the region in my account because it asks me to check the date and time but these are correct. Any answers please?

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

  • Are these Chargers good for an iPod?

Hey everyone. Listen, today I went in town and had some time to buy some stuff.
Now i needed a charger for my iPod Touch 4G. I didn't buy the one from apple with 30 euro, i just got something else, that should do the same job.
But I'm a bit unsure that it's working well.
On the back if I can read:
    Input: 100-240VAC
              0.3A 50-60HZ
    Output: 5VDC---1A
And the one for the car is like:
    Input: 12-24Vdc
    Output: 5.0Vdc --- 700mA
Now I don't know if this is healthy for the iPod. Is it? o.O
I used the one for the car (and i think the iPod is heating). That doesn't look good...
Is this my imagination? or do these things really hurt the iPod?
One other funny thing that happens. When I used these chargers, for some reason, the Audio disappears. If I open up music and so on, the volume level bar is vanished.... is that normal?
Anyway, the main question is: Are these things safe??? o.O
    Thanks

I use a basic Samsung phone charger for my Ipod Touch. It outputs the same 5.0v --- .7 A.
When it overheats, thats just the battery charging.
I've used the same charger on all my ipods for 3 years now.... and they all have continued to work just fine...
    You can use them safely.
Other then that, I have absolutley no idea why your audio bar may dissapear. It's most likely a powersaving feature... In otherwords, check your settings.
    Hope This Helps
