Are these sounds normal?

I recently replaced my PS4 HDD with a 2TB one. I noticed something afterwards. When I put a game disc inside (for installation of that game), the console makes a few "clicking" sounds when it starts reading the disc. After the game loads and I start playing, the clicking sounds are gone. Also, when a game is running and the console is busy reading from the disc, it makes a not too loud spinning sound, that doesn't go away until it has stopped being ''busy". Not sure whether it's the blu-ray drive or something else. It sounds like a distant motor that is turned on. Do these sounds have anything to do with the HDD, or it is normal and I shouldn't be worried? I put the HDD just as the instructions are and other than that, everything is fine. The games seem to load just a little bit slower, but it is probably my imagination. Thank you and much appreciated.

Mine makes farting noises, it was funny at first, now it's become quite disturbing, but I've gotten used to it Sort of sounds like this, but it's become alot more sloppy better check your your undies sounding

The questions:
1) I have seen a lot of discussion about voltage seetings so I am wondering if mine are normal? They are as follows:
Vcore = 1.55v
5v = 5.05v
3.3v = 3.27v
12v = 11.60v
2) This may need to be in the BIOS group but what are the optimum seetings for this board and my stuff?
3) When I boot up I notice that just about all my hardware is using IRQ11. Is this normal?
4) A while back I saw a lot discussion about ACPI. Is it best to use it or not? If you turn it off do you have to reload your OS?

Not that I am very technical and do sometimes get mixed up in my own settings...
I got a canon A1 and use the easy set up for HV 1080i50 on interlaced footage
and 1080p25 for the '25f' footage. When using the de-interlaced filter I hit the
upper field and I am having a major headache from time to time with sequence
settings and field dominance in particular with interlaced footage but do experiment
quiet abit to my even larger frustration. I do find the '24f' frames quite pleasant to
look at - maybe it is just because it is easier to work with I dont know, but interlaced
got a reputation of being difficult.
Likewise as far as I am aware then the '25f' canon setting is as good as progressive
some will even say 'same'. check out more here

I figured out the issue. some MSI boards, apparently, give a beep for each usb device plugged into the computer. Once I removed all usb devices, I was left with 2 beeps and a high pitched beep. I've run across a couple places on the Internet of people who have the same issue (2 beeps and a higher beep). One person left it because everything was working on his computer. He updated the forum about a year later saying everything was still working. Another person RMA'd his CPU and that ended up getting rid of the final 3 beeps. So apparently it's a CPU related issue. I'm just frustrated no one from MSI has verified this information, and confused why they would implement something like that (the usb beep count) when that's usually a sign that BIOS didn't POST correctly. At least I presume it's MSI's doing, I haven't come across any other boards that do this, although to be fair I was looking for MSI specific information to match my mainboard.
Although thank you for the recent publication of AMI beep codes. I was only able to find the very dated one.

Are my temps normal?

I have a 21.5'' iMac from 2010 and I am a little worried about its temperatures. I think that they may be too high and
may cause damage to the machine over time.
But, as I don't know if it's really high or it's normal, I would like to ask for some help on the matter.
Here are some temps:
(By the way, they were all measured in Celsius and using a widget called iStat Pro)

Not seeing anything dangerous there, but cooler is always better, to a point. If you use smcFan, you don't want to rev up the fan motors too high and prematurely burn them out. You need to find the right balance between temps and fan rpms.
I don't know if you'll be able to get them down like this, but just for reference, here are mine from browsing only, with my fans ramped up on the "minimum" setting I use (see that linked thread for the settings.) It is the second highest setting after the defaults. I don't have a readout for GPU on mine, but a good proxy is the Northbridge. I'm running a fan at the back right now, which means I don't have to go that high for the internal fans. And the room temp is relatively cool today. Disregard the Amibient readout; it's completely out of whack.

Are these normal for a 2 year old macbook pro battery?

I am wondering if the numbers I am getting on my macbook pro are normal for the battery. It's over 2 years old, going to be 3 this summer, and I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT drop in the battery health since January... I was in the high 80% range in January, but now I am down 10% at least from then. These are the numbers I am getting from my mac:

You don't need to start a new thread to continue a conversation, you can just tack onto the original one. The settings I referred you to are for the Blackberry, since that's the device which is not receiving mail: anything which is working can be left alone.

I was having this same issue oh..i'd say round 6pm ET Sunday...no problem anymore, because my mac has been totally wrecked by whatever this is....got in and started activating webservers pumping out info left and right. at this point i am hoping to preserve my music folder, the rest is trash. almost every file. this morning the filename of almost every process running in activity monitor ended in 'd' as in lookupd, blued.
anyone else?
btw...airport has been "off" since sunday...switched to hardwire...cable modem off since early this morning and im still pumping out and receiving data like crazy. Bluetooth? share files set to off..but it keeps changing on its own.

For the issue with the videos that will no longer work, try closing all apps and then reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
For the issue with sounds, you have system sounds muted.
Check the side switch above the volume rocker on the side of the iPad. Flip it the other way and see if you get sound from the apps, keyboard clicks, etc.
If not, double tap the home button to bring up the task bar at the bottom. In the task bar swipe all the way to the right. Look on the far left side and see if there is a speaker icon. If there is, tap it and see if the sounds on apps come back. Then tap the home button.
You can change how the side switch works to either lock screen rotation or to mute system sounds. You can go to Settings>General>Set Side switch to Lock Rotation or mute. If you choose mute, the switch will turn off apps sounds. Otherwise you use the task bar as described above to mute those sounds.

What are these mysterious documents on my hard drive?

I was out of town for the last 3 weeks, so no one was using my home computer, but I left it on anyway. I normally never turn it off, unless I'm rebooting it or moving it. Upon returning home, I woke it up and opened the Finder window, I found 3 mysterious 4kb documents on my hard drive. These were not in my Home folder, but were sitting above the Applications folder in Finder. They weren't there before I left town. All three of them were dated differently. One a month for Sept., Oct., and Nov. Very odd. When I try to open them, I get a message saying, " The document "" could not be opened. You don't have permission. To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File>Get Info." So I did this and I got no useful information. I ran a Disk Permission - Repair Permissions and still could not open these documents. I decided to delete them.
Then today, I find there's another one, with the time stated as being Today, 1:36 AM. The others also had early morning hours attached to them too. So it appears to be the exact same sort of thing. What the heck are these documents and why are they suddenly appearing on a monthly basis?

Thanks for telling me how to do the screen shot thing, I never knew.
You can see in the Finder window the first thing is the unknown document that showed up yesterday.
Next is the Get Info window you asked for, which says I can open it using TextEdit, but it's locked.
When I try to open it using TextEdit by clicking on the Open with TextEdit.app, which is the only option, I got this:
Clicked the Continue button and got this message:
So next I clicked on Update and got this message:
Clicking on the OK button closed the message windows but the Info window remained opened.
As I said in my original post, I've been getting these unkown documents once a month since September 2012. I had never seen them before this week though.
What do you think they are, should I be concerned about them or just delete them and not worry?

Are these Chargers good for an iPod?

Hey everyone. Listen, today I went in town and had some time to buy some stuff.
Now i needed a charger for my iPod Touch 4G. I didn't buy the one from apple with 30 euro, i just got something else, that should do the same job.
But I'm a bit unsure that it's working well.
On the back if I can read:
Input: 100-240VAC
0.3A 50-60HZ
Output: 5VDC---1A
And the one for the car is like:
Input: 12-24Vdc
Output: 5.0Vdc --- 700mA
Now I don't know if this is healthy for the iPod. Is it? o.O
I used the one for the car (and i think the iPod is heating). That doesn't look good...
Is this my imagination? or do these things really hurt the iPod?
One other funny thing that happens. When I used these chargers, for some reason, the Audio disappears. If I open up music and so on, the volume level bar is vanished.... is that normal?
Anyway, the main question is: Are these things safe??? o.O

I use a basic Samsung phone charger for my Ipod Touch. It outputs the same 5.0v --- .7 A.
When it overheats, thats just the battery charging.
I've used the same charger on all my ipods for 3 years now.... and they all have continued to work just fine...
You can use them safely.
Other then that, I have absolutley no idea why your audio bar may dissapear. It's most likely a powersaving feature... In otherwords, check your settings.

What are these dots on my iPhone 5 SIM tray?

There are these odd white dots on my inside edge of the SIM tray in my iPhone 5. I don't recall seeing these dots in previous generations of iPhone 5.
I found a similar thread on MacRumors about this, but there appears to be no answer.

For my iphone, I have an extra dot (so three dots and a line), so it is not exactly the same.
What are these? Are these normal? Does your phone's SIM tray have those too? How many dots?

How do you know about this? How many "configurations" are there of these dots? This is the first time I had seen it in an iPhone (as compared to previous gens).

Thanks for the obvious question. I mean it. The very same thought came to me this morning and, sure enough, I had booted into another drive--my old one that, of course, had the old desktop, etc.
It didn't dawn on me that this was the case since I hadn't set it as a boot drive but I guess in the course of all the restarts I did, it got switched.
I'm back to normal again.

Are these sounds normal?
