Are video calls recorded automatically? THIS IS W...

Hello...
I was video chatting with my fiance for three hours.  Since he lives across the country, its the only way I get to see him.  Well, he left skype up and running and went out of the room.  As I was sitting here, suddenly the image of his room from what I could see got scrambled then suddenly there he was in a different part of the room during an earlier part of our conversation.  The moving image was there for about ten seconds before scrambling back to the original image of where he had left.  I thought it odd and kind of unnerving so I was wondering if Skype automatically records video conversations.  I have regular ordinary run-of-the-mill Skype and so does he...Did we get hacked and recorded or is this done automatically?  I'm really worried about our privacy in our conversations.  I was wondering if anyone could help because now I'm afraid to talk to my fiance (whom I never get to see or talk to otherwise).  This is the first time this has happened.  Someone please help me!

Skype does not record calls and video calls.  Being a service with millions of users at any given time, I think it would be very impractical for Skype to record calls and video calls (and would violate the privacy of their users if they do).  Perhaps what happened is just a random computer glitch.

  • Audio & Video Call Recording Solution for CUCM

    Hi,
I am looking for a audio and video call recording solution for CUCM. The requirement is the recording system shall record all audio & video calls including incoming, outgoing, and station-to-station calls. One cirtical requirement is: The users on the CUCM system shall be able to record video calls for video equipped stations with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone.
Does anyone know the product or third party vendor who supports audio and video recording for CUCM?
    -Thanks
    Vaijanath

Currently Cisco doesn't support video recording with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone. Also, I have checked with the third party vendors and they only support the video recording using Passive Call recording (port mirroring).

  • Are video calls encrypted and safe from spying

good morning ,,,i have a small question ,,,i'm using skype 6 on windows 7 64bit ,,,and i'm connected to a public wifi without a password ,,can some one sniff my skype and listen to my voice or video calls,,because i heard that some people can sniff the skype password on public wifi and also listen to the voice and video calls ,,please help ,,,ty admins

    Not quite, please see http://news.softpedia.com/news/Skype-Provided-Backdoor-Access-to-the-NSA-Before-Microsoft-Takeover-N...
Therefore it is quite likely that the naked video you shot with your girlffriend, or wife can be viewed by a 20 year old NSA analyst.
This is UNACCEPTABLE and we the users must force Skype to change it and give us the guarantee that they originally gave i.e. that conversations (video and text and metadata) are SECURE!
So far, Skype have not commented on this topic!

  • Major Security Issue on Android - Incomming video call was automatically received

Hi all, today I encountered a major security bug. My phone was on the table, several meters away from me, facing up. When I walked past it, I saw that I have a video call which was accepted somehow automatically by skype on my mobile phone. It was my friend and he confirmed that he was able to hear and see everything for more than a minute. Is this a known bug? This is something major. Kind regards,GD

Some previous Android skype versions had a severe security bug, see this: http://community.skype.com/t5/Android/Automatical-calls/td-p/3806053 However, it should be gone if you have a somewhat new version; unless a new bug has surfaced.

  • Recording Video Calls in SX20

Can any one elaborate on Video Call Recording Feature in SX20 ?

There is no such feature on the SX20 to enable you to capture the video via a URL directly from the SX20.
The easy option (but not cheap) is to use a TelePresence Content Server which is designed to do the recording of video conferences.  This is a Cisco supported solution and will work.
If that's not possible, you could introduce other equipment to capture the HDMI output of the SX20 (to get the video and far end audio), and then somehow mix in the local audio (from the microphones) and feed this to some other external recording device - which you could then perhaps get to feed your other streaming/recording solution.  This is not a Cisco supported solution, and your results may vary.

  • Call recorder for iphone 5s

i am having a iphone 5s which i am looking for a call recording app for voice calls..

There are many call recording apps (for example, we are developers of such apps ). However, as KiltedTim says, such apps are not tied into the core dialing feature of iPhone but are implemented through one of the two ways:
1 - VoIP based recording: the app will use your internet connection to connect your phone to the app's server, which in turn will connect you to the recipient phone. It's convenient to use but you must use the app's dialer to make the phone call so only outgoing calls are supported.
2 - Conference call (3-way call) recorders: the idea is making a conference call with 3 'participants' - you, the person you want to record, and another phone number that actually makes the recording. This phone number is provided and managed by the app. This method supports recording of both incoming and outgoing calls but it's a bit uncomfortable to make the merging of the call with all the participants.
Regarding the legal issue, each country/state has its own set of rules for phone recording. In some countries a single participant consent is enough, some countries require both participants, some have different rules for recordings that are shared vs private recordings. Our apps include a feature to play 'beep' sound every minute, to inform the other party that the call is recorded. You can use it or disable it as required by the law in your country/state.
My company have two apps -  'Call Recorder - IntCall' is based on VoIP and CallRec Lite - Record Phone Calls is based on conference calls. You can find a comparison of both apps here - although it's a comparison of our apps most of the sections are relevant for all apps that are based on those two methods so you can learn a bit more about the pros and cons of each method.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • 3G+ Video Calls on a Lumia 900

    Hello!
I've posted this once in another thread, but I don't seem to have noticed, so I'm opening a new thread for it. .
With a recent price-drop (thanks to WP8), I bought a Lumia 900 for my girlfriend. She really wants video calling, and while, my phone is capable of it, it doesn't have the comfort of skype, so we have no choice but to use 3G+ video calling through the operator, which should be fine with my subscription, except, her Lumia doesn't seem to work with this variety of video calling. .
I can use my phone to video call other phones, but not a Windows Phone. Our operator's Customer Service agents aren't exactly familiar with Windows Phone, so they seem clueless. I can't resort to Skype-to-operator type of calling, because then I'd have to pay for Skype Credits AND her 3G. .
In a nutshell, I need help with video calling without using Skype or Tango. . Help?
    Model: Nokia Lumia 900
    OS Version: WP 7.5
Issue: 3G+ Video Calls (without using Skype/Tango/etc)
I can't imagine me being the only one who has an issue with this, so if there's any solution out there, please help. .
    SIlver

Video calling as per symbian phones is not possible with wp devices. Video calling on windowsphones is by using skype or other 3rd video calling apps. This is a Microsoft constraint. If you wish to request a feature, you should direct it to microsoft on the windowsphone.uservoice.com site. But i wouldnt get my hopes up. Microsoft are working at deeply integrating skype into the os.

  • Skype video call - overheating iPhone 4s?

Does anybody notice that when you use Skype video call  (wi-fi connection), iPhone 4S is overheating. It became extremely hot after few minutes of video call.
Is this just me, or anybody else have this problem?
Phone is working O.K., quality of call is excelent, and everything look's fine except high temperature on backside of iPhone.

Using FaceTime or Skype or some other apps.

  • Video calls over E1 ISDN PRI link

    Hi All
I have an ISDN E1 PRI Link through MGCP gateway, the telco say that they will provide a Video call service through this link for up to 30 calls!! is that possible (voice is working fine)??
What I know is a 64 k provided by each ISDN channel is not enough for Video calls unless using MCU or a gateway to aggregate the isdn channels.
Other people suggest that with H323 gw this can be done.
Call flow: Mobile Phone ==> ISDN ==> MGCP (or H323 if required) ==> CUCM==>Video enabled phone
    Please advise..Many Thanks

    Hi,
H.323 is supported in Cisco ISR routers. It is recommended to have dedicated video gateways the Cisco (ex Tandberg/Codian) 3200 Series would be better.

  • Tely Labs telyHD - Group Video Calling

    Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying the Tely Labs telyHD for use at work. I have a Skype Premium Account but can I use this Tely Labs telyHD for group video calling?

So, this weekend we (5 of us) tested Skype Premium... I was very excited to get the service (as its £2.99 a day, should have been free for 7 days as per the site). http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/ Thinking as I’m paying for it that it would be great. Found the services less than acceptable…
I have friends in the USA, Spain, South Africa and the UK and the video was less than pleasant. They all reported video dropping out at different times for no reason. My friend in the UK (1.5 hours’ drive away his video was the worst) for me. I hosted the call in the UK and I have a 30MB Fibre Optic line (Virgin, and I get 30MB and 3MB upload - I get this speed many speed tests, not on the same day obviously). I monitored my link and only used max a 150KB of the link with these results. Having this test run, we decided to starts using another product with an “O and ends in an o” (don’t want to advertise other products in this forum) straight after, which is free for group video calling but advert support. Much better experience all the video work and audio was better to.
I’m so disappointed Skype, I was really wanting this to work and to be great. So having paid the money for the service I would like a refund. I think the 15 minutes we used doesn’t justify the day rate. Could someone please contact me and credit my Skype account.
Very disappointed Skype (Microsoft) on the "Premium Service"! This is my honest opinion and not a bashing, I’m not pushing other products merely let people know about the experience.

  • Video calls, Are they recorded and stored?

Hi, my question is as in topic.
I'm wondering if my videocalls are recorded and saved on servers somewhere microsoft/skype or any others company servers.
I write this coz i found Quotes:
"Subject to our Fair Use Policy (“FUP”) below, there are no limits on the number of Video Messages you can send. If you are not a Skype Premium subscriber, Video Messages will be kept for a minimum of 6 months from the date sent and may expire after that time."
"12. HOW LONG IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA KEPT BY SKYPE?
Your instant messaging (IM), voicemail, and video message content (collectively “messages”) may be stored by Skype (a)"
SO PLEASE GIVE ME CLEAR ANSWER.
are they recorded and stored anywhere or no?

Your video calls are not recorded or stored anywhere. Sent or received Video Messages are saved on Skype servers. Be aware that Video Messages have nothing to do with your regular video calls.
