Are video navigation points via buttons still unsupported in DPS?

Are video navigation points via buttons still unsupported in DPS? i'd like a video to play but have buttons to the side the give the user the option to play the video from certain points.

Can a button go to a Video Navigation Point?

I'm trying to do a table of contents for a video, and I've set up Navigation Points in the video. I created a frame over the text and converted it to a Button. I then set the Button (on Release or Tap) to have a "Video" action, selected my video, and picked "Play from Navigation Point".
The button doesn't do the action in my Folio/iPad app, although it does flash the in-app browser UI elements at the top/bottom of the screen, so it's trying to load a hyperlink.
Does this mean that it simply doesn't work?
Is there a workaround for creating a button to go to a Navigation Point in the video, or am I SOL?
I'm using InDesign CC 2014.2 and DPS App Builder 32.4.2.

Sorry, that's not supported. For a video overlay, you would need to trim the video to change the starting point.

Synchronize flash video navigation points with slides

Hello,
i'll have to sync different slides with a captured presentation. i know i can set navigation points in my flash-video. but i haven't found a solution to change the slides when the video reached a certain point. is this possible with indesign? it would be fantastic.

Bringing up a button and an image using video cue points

Hi,
I have a 4:40 long video and I'd like to show a button and a background image (or a movie clip) at 4:30 and I want them stay on the screen after the video is complete. If someone could give me a step by step instructions for this I'd really appreciate it. By the way I use Flash CS5.

Sorry if I confused you. Here's a little sample video I'd like to show you (only 10 seconds), so I can explain it more clearly. This is exactly the same thing except it is 10 seconds instead of 5 minutes.

In this project I have 6 layers (from top to bottom); action, replay, button, bg, frame, video. The video plays and the button (btn1) comes up at 7, then the video ends and replay button comes up. So far so good.
When I hit replay button to watch the video again, the video starts to play but this time the video is on the top of everything. I cant see the blue frame, at the 7th second the button activates but is hidden behind the video, and so is the replay button. I think the answer lies in this code:

You said this code "addChild(flv_pb);" would put the video on the top of everything. So I was wondering if there is a way to play the video without having it at the top most depth. I'm pasting the entire code for your reference.

I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge. Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks. I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2. Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty. The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously. My system is about one year old. Any suggestions?

     Thanks for your help! I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video. I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support. They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded. That didn't change anything. In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge. But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
     1. Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
     2. Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
     3. Close iMovie 9
     4. Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
     5. File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events. Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
     6. Select the clips and import. Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported. Click continue import. It's a little glitchy. It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too. On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy. In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.

How do I turn a small video into a linkable button?

I'm new to Dreamweaver, so please forgive me if this is a noob question. I've done some searching, but I can't seem to find a simple answer.
I'm a video editor building a new site for myself. I'd like to have some thumbnail-size videos that work as buttons to open a new page and play the full-size version. I can create these button-sized videos as either Quicktime or Flash and place them in an AP div to position them where I want. But how do I make them clickable? I can't seem to draw an image map over them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the folks here would discourage Flash navigation, but one way to do it easily would be to export your small movie from Premiere CS4 as an *.FLV or *.F4V. Start a new Flash document and make the Background color the same as the area on the Web page you want the video to appear. Import your video to the stage then create a new layer in Flash above the layer your video is on. Create a button in Flash. On the last of the four button key frames draw a colored rectangle. The color only represents the area that will be mouse sensitive and will not show over your video. Drag the button to the Stage and make sure the colored area (that will not show, as I mentioned) is large enough. Adjust if necessary. Give your button an instance name. Click the keyframe on the Flash timeline on the button layer and open the Action Script panel. Paste in (if monkey_bump is your instance name):

I wasn't trying to be smart @ss with the webpagesthatsuck URL. According to Vince, Flash navigation sucks.
One could be creative in Premiere by placing a PhotoShop "mat" over the video in Premiere prior to export. The PhotoShop document could have a transparent center and an outward color that matches the color of your website. This way you could have a custom shaped navigation video.

Try with Screen variant(SHD0). Else, you can achieve this by implementing a proper BAdi/Enhancement, if there is one.
If not, you can achieve this by modification, but, it is <b>not recommended by SAP</b>.
Please check this sample program from other thread to find BADI and enhancement for a given transaction code. You just need to create a custom program in your system by cut and paste below codes.

1. For what ever transaction u want the enhancement .. just check for the System-->status (menu) and find out the PROGRAM name....
2. Double click on to the program name and go inside the program (Abap editor)
3. Search for "Call Customer-function " ... and u'll get some search results .. If u get results then u have enhancement in that tcode .....
4. Then it actually calls a Function module .... copy the Function module name .... go to SE80 (object navigator) click on "Repository Information system" then Customer Enhancements .... Give the Function module name in the "Components" field and click Execute ....

5. Choose which ever enhancement will suit ur business need ..

I'm assuming you are working on a Trailer in iMovie (not a standard project). Unfortunately, the templates accept video only - not photos or stills. That's why the Photo Browser is greyed out when you are working with Trailers.
A way around this is to convert the Trailer to a standard project. Then you will be able to add photos/stills, and perform other edits as desired.
To convert the Trailer, select "File > Convert to Project" from the menu. Before doing this, it's best to duplicate the Trailer so that all your original edits are intact in the Trailer format. To duplicate, while in Project Library view, click on the Trailer name then select "File > Duplicate Project" from the menu. Use the duplicate to do the conversion.
Duplicating won't use up much extra space on the hard drive. Projects reference the clips in the associated Event (or Events) - the clips are not copied. The project file also keeps track of titles, transitions, effects, voiceovers, music, edits you've made and so forth - these are text based and use little space.

Sometimes, a replacement 1/2AA 3.6v Lithium PRAM battery is needed
to get these back into running form again, because these are one-way
and without a good battery, settings are lost or easily corrupted. And this
can contribute to a failure on startup. But that is a troubleshooting measure.
There could be another issue, although these batteries are only good for a
few years at best. A power outage can revoke any remainder of life out of it.
The take-apart is tedious and detail oriented; to include new thermal paste
and some special tools, good instructions, and some skills also help. An
ifixit.com repair guide may help; as would an original Apple Service guide.
Not sure if other good online guides or youtube video are available.
If the power supply is bad, the test ports near the PMU button are where
to check; with multi-meter. Also power supplies may develop issues with
bad capacitors. They have been said to be repairable.

This also would be a good time to consider, if battery is all that's failed, to
upgrade the internal RAM chip, or upgrade the hard disk drive, etc.

How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

Trouble capturing video from VHS via Analogue to DV converter

I use Final Cut Express 1.0.1 and I've always been able to capture video from VHS via a Director's Cut analogue to DV converter box. Today it keeps freezing on me. I've tried force quit, logged off and back on again and even re-started the computer. I've got plenty of space on my two hard drives (125GB free on main drive and 85.42GB on my scratch disk).
I'm sure I've set the rest up correctly (composite cable from VHS to DV convertor box set to output and connected to input slots on box, and DV box set to capture). The box is correctly connected to the Mac.
I've also logged on using another user's account to see if the same problem occurs, and it does. I believe this means that dumping the my preference file won't help, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Any ideas how to stop this freezing on me would be much appreciated.

Last bit of help from Martin may have some mileage in it as far as excluding hidden problems with the drive you are capturing too.
Have been reading into the requirements for the hard disc and it does make it clear having a separate one like you have is almost a requirement because of the work it does. Would it be worth trying a small capture to your system disc. If it helps that is how I am working at the moment so it doesn't appear to be instant fireworks if you do use this one but give it some thought first...
On the firewire port side of things I have seen some unexplained connection issues on this front which were cured by shutting things down, unplugging and then beginning again. Take it System Profile didn't yield anything?
Now I got back in front of my Mac it appears Quicktime Pro will allow capture from an attached device but appreciate you may not have the Pro bit, iMovie should be as good a test.

As long as iMessage is enabled and the old phone is connected to a WiFi access point, it will continue to receive iMessage texts. It won't receive non-iMessage texts nor will it receive any calls.

Try hard reset.
Hold down the sleep and home button until the screen goes black. Turn the phone back on.
If that doesn't work, back up the iphone using iTunes.
Re-install the iOS by putting the iPhone into DFU (recovery mode.)
To do this,
Make sure the phone is pluged in to you computer with iTunes open.
Hold the Sleep and home button until the screen goes black, immediately release the sleep button but continue to hold the home button.
After a few seconds your iTunes should recognize your phone in DFU mode.
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
At this point you should click on "Restore iPhone"
After your phone is done restoring, don't start as new iPhone. Restore from back up.
If that doesn't work, you're SOL.
Take it to Apple. Tell them they are stupid.

Check istumbler or netstumbler for interference
Make sure DNS is set correctly (settings - general - network - configure DNS - automatic)
