Are you happy about touchpad in macbook?

I have used Powerbook and I am happy about that. I have tried macbook at an Apple Store. Everything is great. But, touchpad is the one that I do not like.
It is a little bit raised up and I need a little bit of effort to "touch" it. When I drag a window, it is a little bit annoying. One of macbook I tried has two different feeling when I touch left or right side or corner of the touchpad. A center of touchpad is not actually felt as centered.
Are you happy about touchpad of macbook?
Thanks

If you are using only one hand (index finger on the touchpad and the thumb on the mouse button and you find it difficult to drag a window you might want to consider using two hands. Makes it easier. Or under the keyboard/mouse settings enable click to drag so you can just click on the window and that will automatically hold it for you so you can drag it freely.
I have no opinons either way on the performance of the mouse button as it is what it is.

  • Are you happy with the new Unibody 2.0 Macbook?

    Hi There,
I have been a Windows user(not by choice) for the last, well, ever since I can remember. But after buying the iphone 3g am a mac fan. I have also seen the demo of the new unibody 2.0 macbook and have been hooked on to that. So after reading all issues reported on this forum, just wanted to ask owners as to what their experience has been and are they happy with the $1299 macbook? MY usage is mainly for internet, songs, videos and probably have to install XP to run a few of my oracle applications. But mainly want to use the mac OS. I am not into gaming so thats not really a concern. Also, any major disadvantages or problems that you have. I dont need firewire so thats not an issue.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Cheers guys!

I've been an Apple Laptop user since the Clamshells, and have adored most of them. This is the best one yet so far as I'm concerned. I am delighted, amazed, and in love! It's strong and solid, yet lighter than the plastic ones before it. Has all that I expect from a beautiful screen, responsive keyboard, and it's smooth-as-glass trackpad. This is a marvelous machine and I'm very, very happy with it.
Oh, and Ziatron there always posts on these threads about the firewire. He is correct that the Aluminum Macbook lacks firewire. The plastic has it, and so does the Macbook pro. So if that's an issue for you, then you need to think on that. However, the lack of firewire on the Macbook is Ziatron's particular hobby horse. A lot of us, myself included, have found it to be a non-issue. I've had this MacBook since the day they brought the new ones out and have not yet needed to plug in one thing that required firewire. I don't even know it's missing.

  • Are you happy with your Touch?

I am looking at an iPod Touch since I really don't need an iPhone.
Right now I am using a Palm Pilot and I like it.
Has anyone made a switch from the Palm Pilot to a Touch?
    Are you happy with it?
    Thanks,
    Fred

I've owned a lot of electronics and feel the Touch is the coolest of them all. Now that I've got a MiFi I can listen to Pandora pretty much anywhere, on my TOuch. We just drove from San Jose to LA and had Pandora on the entire time, in the car. Very awesome. There is an app for just about anything imaginable with many of them being free. While the screen doesn't have the gorgeous blacks and color of the BB Storm, it's still cool to watch movies on the Touch, play various games, view the internet, and on and on. My wife and I both use our Touchs every day and by plugging in to recharge when the indicator shows about 1/2 charge, we don't run out of juice to use them to our heart's content. Highly recommended. You can even straighten pictures on the wall with a Touch!

  • Are you happy with version 10 + XP

Itunes just refused to upload the last Santana CD if i did not upgrade my old v8 to v10; it probably will do the same for every recent cd...so there is an issue here.
Since i had to go back from v9 to V8 cause 9 just did not work on my pc, i do not feel confident about upgrading to 10 now...
are you happy with V10 + XP? (one that cannot afford buying a mac...)
    Carlus

i have version 10 in one pc and version 8 in another; when i import the very same CD, version 8 goes to gracenote and finds all the song names + cd cover, and version 10 does not...version 9 hI believe apple is growing too fast and becoming like windows...with false improovements, bugs, and so on; i was going to buy an apple computer but i changed my mind ans i won't.

  • Are you happy with your Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Are you happy with you Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Very happy after getting it to stop keeping the display lit after charging completes.  Battery life blows my Galaxy Nexus out of the water.  The GNex was like an electric car with a 30 mile range.  Always looking for a charge.  The S5's screen is gorgeous.  OLED is a must-have for me.  Signal strength is better than the GNex and the S5 is XLTE-ready so you can get faster speeds in those markets.  I got 69.08/18.95 in Kansas City back in May.  Other XLTE areas have had download speeds of high 20s to low 30s.  Performance is good.  The interface feels smooth and responsive.  I even like the look.  It's like something out of a 50s diner.
My only real gripe is the storage.  16 gigs is pretty sad these days and only 10 gigs are available.  I know you can add a 128 gig card (I have) but few apps load completely to the card.  Heck, lots of apps won't put anything on the card.  A flagship phone should have 32 and 64 gig options.
I also wish I could just load the bare OS and skip all the bells and whistles that Samsung's added.

  • Are you happy with Java Applets?

Are you happy with deploying your Forms to the Web as Java Applets? What kind of issues did you run into? Did you go the Java Applet deployment route for the lack of an easier/faster option? Wouldn't you prefer to deploy your forms as standard JSP pages? I really appreciate your feedback.
    Ali

    Ali,
I wished things were as easy as black and white. It depends on what kind of application your are building. Is it busineess to business, business to customer, an Internet application or a heavily used internal application with high transaction volumes.
There are a lot of application types that I, as a Forms Product Manager, wouldn't encourage you to use Forms for. Keeping in mind the memory footprint onthe server, the JInitiator plug in and the download time, self service applications that are of short term use definitively are not what Forms is made for.
On the other side, JSP still requires a back end because its an interface technology and according to the MVC paradigm the view shouldn't have business logic in it. So you can use EJBs or Oracle's Business Components for Java to build the backbone of your application. In either way you are stepping out of the JSP case.
There is a reason for all different interface types to exist: Use Java Applet for what they are good for and the Forms design and intended usage really goes in line with that. Please have a look at this Whitepaper for a good insight in the subject of Forms and J2EE technologies

Are you Happy with your zen? If not what would you rather have?

i love my ZVM. However, i like the way my Nomad Jukebox2 is view'd in MediaSource Organizer better. Also the fact that they let you figure out how to use the ZVM. There is no detailed instructions on how all the functions work.

  • Are you happy with your Macbook unibody aluminium display brightness?

    Hi Mac users,
Can you please throw some light on what do you think about the Macbook Aluminium 2.0 display? I already got great response from mac users on the whole machine on a different thread but I also am reading a lot of complaints about the macbook display being very dull and reflective. Can you please share your experience? I am going to be a PC-Mac convert but just wanted to confirm.
    Cheers!

Let me first say that you're making an excellent move converting from your current PC to a new Macbook, whether Pro or 13". I switched to the 13" Macbook this past December and have ZERO complaints about it. It is true that the screen is reflective, but it's no cause for concern. bottom line is, the more light coming into your room, the more reflection you'll have on the screen. That shouldn't be the case in most household rooms, but it all depends on the lighting-(a lamp shining light from behind or above & behind will cause more reflections). you'll also have to maneuver a bit in open spaces, but the 'book adapts well to all situations. I've taken it to school, the library, Starbucks, Vegas, my pool, used it in my car, and even brought it to a few restaurants - it's held up great and was never hard to use due to lighting or surrounding issues.
The screen is anything but dull- every icon, window, picture, application - all are very sharp and full of color when open and running. besides, you can always adjust the brightness or the pixellation on the screen to tighten things up.
On a separate note, i'm now starting to take advantage of the new trackpad, and it's unlike anything i've used or seen in the way of PC. laptops. if you haven't, i'd suggest go to the Apple store, find a good tech guy, and ask him to demonstrate the full effects of the trackpad. you'll be hooked immediately! it literally puts the entire computer at your fingertips...you'll see.
I'm sorry I can't speak from experience on the Macbook Pro, but you can check it out at the store. I hope this info was helpful to you. again, congrats on escaping the clutches of Windows Vista and it's upcoming replacement, Windows 7. Once you go Mac, Microsoft's Wac.
    -Enjoy-

  • Trying to decide 9650 or Samsung Facinate, are you happy with your BB?

    Hi,
I am going to get my upgrade, and getting my first smartphone. I will be using for email, txt, phone, and a little web. Are you guys happy with the blackberry, or is it getting out dated and I should move to the driod platform? Was looking at the 9650.
    Help

BlackBerry cannot be beat for instant email, texting (the Bold keyboard is amazing), call quality and battery life. Do you have friends with BlackBerrys? You can use BB Messenger to chat with them. In fairness, other smartphone platforms have instant messaging as well, but BBM is just easy and always connected, and you can see when someone has read your message (not sure if others offer this feature). And a big plus for me is I can stick a BB in my pocket and not worry about the screen cracking or scratching.
I wouldn't worry about the platform being outdated. RIM is still a strong contender because BlackBerrys just work the way they're supposed to. Get what's right for you, because these opinions constantly change. I still see lots of "Back to BlackBerry" threads.
Since you said "a little web," I think the Bold might be a good choice for you. If you were into heavy browsing, watching videos, or loading up on free apps and games, I'd say check out the Fascinate. If you want fun, innovative stuff that looks amazing onscreen, BB is not known for that.
As a previous poster said, try out both devices in a store. It's the best way to know. Good luck deciding!

  • Are you happy?

thinking of upgrading my macbook to a macbook pro. Have someone who would like to purchase my macbook now. I know a new model will be coming out beginning of next year, but there will always be a newer model. How Happy are you? I have read that wireless is not as good in the pro's as the macbooks. I do a lot of photoshop and traveling so i need wireless.
would appreciate any comments. Thank you.

No dents in my MPB yet, bandit.
As I've said elsewhere, my old alu PB12, however, survived several years of being bounced around in 4 wheel drive vehicles in the Australian outback, and being thrown from the vehicle shown in the following picture, found on the ground under the vehicle, and still kept on keeping on without problems.
The 15 may not be quite as robust as the PB12 (simply because it is a little larger), but I'd say I'm pretty impressed with the general strength of the alu Apple notebooks after that one!
I'd have to say that I was even happier that I, and the two front seat occupants, were both still functioning normally after that little episode! (The vehicle, by the way, was a new Nissan Patrol 4WD before the event. Unlike the PB12, and us, it was no longer useable! )
As far as MB versus MBP "toughness" goes, the MBP is much less scratch prone than the MB in our experience. The MB is less "dentable", perhaps, but I'm not sure it is really any "tougher" in any serious "event".
    Cheers

  • Are you happy with your N97? (Psychomania where ar...

Are you guys happy with your N97s? Do you have major problems with it? (I have heard some issues such as connections to internet without user authorization and can't be turned off, do you have that?)
What about the white one? Do you think white one will be a dirt magnet? Any dirt problems with white one?
    Thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I cannot say that I am happy with my N97. i am returning to Nokia after many years using palm products, treo 600, Treo 650 and finally a Treo Centro. The principal reason for the change is that Treo don't do 3G and I needed a phone that i could use as a modem for my lappy when out and about and, quite basically EDGE does not cut it. So I have ben running a Centro fully loaded with apps for everything, editing, audio and video playback, turn by turn navigation with TomTom and an external GPS, audible audio books, lock down password app email and web. All solid reliable and verything synced with my mac and goosync. The whole lot cost about 320 quid. So I wanted a keyboard that put iPhone in the bin as well as its rather restricted availability. N97 looked like the real deal ut am I glad I got it as a vodafone upgrade rather than buy it myself!
    problems so far:
    1No real sync with Macs
2random lock up at end of call initiated from screenswwipe particularly if other app is running such as music
3persistent problems trying to get contacts onto the phone, it would not sync with anyy service, google, OVI ,goosync , OVI suite on PC, eventually yesterday I got a sync with PC suite after doing a factory reset so I now have contacts in the phone but do not have a reliable sync to update them or remote backup. The contacts app is also **bleep**. No findduplicates, totally unclear search that is not at all quick compared to the Centro
4 sat nav poor compared to tom tom, maps ( yes the latest ones) are at least 18 months out of date with road construction, search frequently fails to resolve destinations  from downloaded maps or over the air and today dumped me 5 miles off target due to a bad postcode search!
5 random bugginess. this is occasional incorrect screen updates, failure to stop displaying nag messages in maps application and on many internet connected sites after you press the buton or tick the box not to be shown them again.
6 that side switch! absolutely useless. can't use it if phone is in car cradle. had to put nUnlock on this does work most of the time but not always, depends on what app is on screen when it switches off the lights
7 battery life absolute rubbish if you are using sat nav or playing music and probably using wifi. Also intermittent failure to charge from either the Nokia power adapter or a usb connection with a laptop, very annoying if you have left it charging overnight and you are travellin all the next day
8 could use a decent agenda view for the day like every other calendar app
9 phone, why does it sometimes use nokia tune insead of the ringtone set in the profile? no contacts have associated tone  and this frequently happens when no caller ID is sent by the caller
10 essential apps that I have to pay extra for, PDF reader for goodness sake! free on every other platform! quick office, Functional docs to go free with treo!
11 generally poor and inconsistent user interface, though that may just be in comparison with mac and palm OS, did symbian hire ex microsoft programmers
To be honest I thought  that symbian would be more polisshed than palm OS which is very many years older and runs on tiny processers and ram how wrong I was.

  • Are you happy with panel 9c9e on the mbp 13"?

    Hi,
Just want to know if there is anyone elese that is happy with the infamous panael 9c9e on the macbook pro 13" . I've read a lot of posts about it but when i look att my screen I can't see the things I'm supposed to see - blue gets purple and all washed out colors. I just can see a bright and nice looking screen with accurate colors. What's wrong with me?

I upgraded from a unibody macbook to the new macbook pro with the 9C9E and can tell you that the screen is definitely better quality, but there are a few instances where I do notice that some blues go purple. It's not half as bad as people make it out to be, or maybe I just got lucky. I don't see neon yellow, or feel like I'm living in a purple wonderland; it's more like royal blue...google links are royal bluish/purple, the top bar is definitely royal blue (like if you click the apple logo) and craigslist looks a little purplish. This is all after calibrating multiple times. What I DO really notice is that scrolling down on a google search or other page does a weird graphic stuttering that my "old" unibody Macbook didn't do, as well as the display just not being as bright (I'd say about 70% as bright as the macbook was).
Honestly, I've had it for almost a week and a half and I'm undecided about whether or not I want to try and return it, since I got a refurb...and I'm getting more and more convinced that this is the type of thing that leads to madness in the long term. You could obsess about this stuff all day, and as you can tell by doing a google search, some people are.

Build quality of the laptop is great, and it's matte black and brushed metal is gorgeous, but the support is a bit lack luster
Brushed metal? you seem to talk about another laptop.
I'm happy with my W510 after having memory module problems that i solved, the screen is great FHD and it's fast and built like a tank.
It is an old fashion conservative laptop, it's not for everyone, but you get what you pay for.
However i do feel Lenovo shouldn't have added USB3 ports to the laptop as they are not supported by BIOS at boot, also i think most manufacturers should drop Displayport as HDMI is standard on all projectors and TVs these days.
