Are you satisfied with your iPod nano?

I personally am. Yes, I've spent a bunch of money on nano tubes, and countless screen protectors that weren't invisible at all, and taking them off caused me to scratch the screen. But, I finally have a decent screen protector and a nano tube, and with the lanyard headphones the nano works great. I am very satisfied with the nano despite having to cover it up with an ugly tube. This is also my first iPod and hopefully the next one I buy won't be so scratchy, but for now I am very pleased.

yes completely. i got mine on october 27 and am using it everyday. i got overlay plus twin pack covers which are simply perfect (people basically don't believe me i have any cover on!) and i'm waiting for my nano tubes which i ordered over apple website here. i want tubes just to add some color to nano. i also got to say i was affraid about scratches and lcd failure, but so far mine is as fresh looking as from the box. btw, while i was waiting for the overlay plus covers i carried mine in a soft case for glasses. this is my second ipod, first one was shuffle, and i will definitely buy new flash memory based ipods in future! great stuff! also, great service from croatian apple web site and their office. not advertizing anyone...
enjoy music everyone!

  • Are you satisfied with your ability to edit HD movies in Mac OS

I've spent the last few days going over all the posts for the past month about import and codecs and resolution, and it seems that the issue of editing HD video on a Mac platform is somewhat problematic. So before I go out and spend $500 - $1000 on an HD camcorder I would like to know, given all the limitations and work arounds, are you satisfied with the final output. Here are the limitations, iMovie (either 06HD or 09) or FCE, an Intel based iMac, and AVCHD based flash memory camcorder either from Panasonic or Canon. Burning to DVD.
From what I gather, with the above set up HD is out of the question. Can one get SD quality DVD's? Can one expect DVD quality videos, which to me look better than current SD TV.
I think I would be satisfied if I could get DVD like videos out of a setup like I described above. If edited videos would be worse than that I would have second thoughts. I'm just not sure from reading all the posts whether the dissatisfaction I detect is from disappointment from not equaling the output of direct from camera, or from a truly degraded picture.
    Thanks for your opinion.

I've been using a Panasonic Lumix camera that is capable of video recording at 1280x720p. Just finished a 1 hour annual family DVD. I imported the video at 720p and did all the editing in iMovie 09. I did use FCE for some special effects, exported these in 1280x720p, imported them into iMovie 09 in 1280x720p. After editing I exported the iMovie 09 Project using Share, Export Movie..., HD. This creates a 1280x720p .mov file. In other words, all the editing and export is done in HD. Unfortunately when I used iDVD or Toast my DVDs were poor quality. After experimenting with various other DVD authoring tools, I came across MovieGate ($20). This software produces a good quality DVD -- much better than either iMovie or Toast and is relatively fast. I'll continue to use this approach until Blue Ray becomes more mainstream and affordable. I think there is a trial version of MovieGate available. In my opinion, worth a try.

  • Are you satisfied with your test?

    Hi everybody,
After performing 2 certifications (I failed in both cases with 52 over 60 and 60 over 66) I have realized that most of the test questions are non-sense questions. Particulary those quesions related with exihibits (very long time consuming questions even if you do not look into it...).
Furthermore, the level of detail demanded in some cases is stupid. I am really discouraged about certification and now I undersand why in my country certifications are seen as a way for Oracle to earn money. Do you agree with that?

After performing 2 certifications (I failed in both cases with 52 over 60 and 60 over 66) I shall take that you have taken 2 exams, I assume you got 52 right when 60 was needed, and 60 right when 66 was needed.
However I am sorry you failed after the effort you put in.
Hopefully you were not trying to take both exams on the same day.
I have realized that most of the test questions are non-sense questions. Typically I disagree. Typically less than 5% of the questions at most could be thought to be inappropriate.
Particulary those quesions related with exihibits (very long time consuming questions even if you do not look into it...).
Part of the technique it to be able to evaluate those rapidly.
Furthermore, the level of detail demanded in some cases is stupid.Thatis your opinion, and I can undertand it after having failed 2 exams.
I am really discouraged about certificationI am sorry to hear that. I would not be happy after failing two exams. It is not automatic that everyone is suitable for this industy, and failing certification may be telling you something. There again failing certification does always mean you can't do the job, it may be your preparaion was ineffective or incomplete or it may be taking certifcation exams doesn't suit. Or it may be english is your second langauage and that makes the exams more difficult. However it may be in indicator you may struggle with the associated job.
and now I undersand why in my country certifications are seen as a way for Oracle to earn money. Do you agree with that?Well you haven't given me an indicator of what your country is a this point.
That said I strongly suspect Oracle makes relatively little money from certification. Certainly not directly. And I suspect directly associated certification training does not bring in too much either. Though it may seem as if it does to normal wage earners and students.
    >
    Regards,
MarcosIf I had just failed 2 tests I would probably not be in a good mood.
And depending on the tests I could be in an awkward position through not passing them.
Anyway take time off from the study, have a good weekend, and evaluate what you will do next.
Try to determine your weakspots, be honest with yourself.
    Take some relaxation.
Dream about what paths you would take if give up certification.
Dream about what paths you would take if you continue with certification. Then be realistic. Try to identify what went wrong. Was it knowledge, preparation, practice, insufficient training, poor training, poor understanding of questions, poor time management in the exam ? Don't blame Oracle, the exam, the test center, anyone else, everyone else .... determine how you can get to point where you are over 85% certain you can achieve a score of at least half way between the pass mark and 100%. And be sure you can be honest with yourself in making this decision.
Good luck with whichever way you go.
Everything in this is my opinion.
PS: Half way through this I notice Matthew has already answered ... hopefully I dont duplicate too much of what he has said.

  • Are you happy with your Touch?

I am looking at an iPod Touch since I really don't need an iPhone.
Right now I am using a Palm Pilot and I like it.
Has anyone made a switch from the Palm Pilot to a Touch?
    Are you happy with it?
    Thanks,
    Fred

I've owned a lot of electronics and feel the Touch is the coolest of them all. Now that I've got a MiFi I can listen to Pandora pretty much anywhere, on my TOuch. We just drove from San Jose to LA and had Pandora on the entire time, in the car. Very awesome. There is an app for just about anything imaginable with many of them being free. While the screen doesn't have the gorgeous blacks and color of the BB Storm, it's still cool to watch movies on the Touch, play various games, view the internet, and on and on. My wife and I both use our Touchs every day and by plugging in to recharge when the indicator shows about 1/2 charge, we don't run out of juice to use them to our heart's content. Highly recommended. You can even straighten pictures on the wall with a Touch!

  • Are you happy with your Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Are you happy with you Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Very happy after getting it to stop keeping the display lit after charging completes.  Battery life blows my Galaxy Nexus out of the water.  The GNex was like an electric car with a 30 mile range.  Always looking for a charge.  The S5's screen is gorgeous.  OLED is a must-have for me.  Signal strength is better than the GNex and the S5 is XLTE-ready so you can get faster speeds in those markets.  I got 69.08/18.95 in Kansas City back in May.  Other XLTE areas have had download speeds of high 20s to low 30s.  Performance is good.  The interface feels smooth and responsive.  I even like the look.  It's like something out of a 50s diner.
My only real gripe is the storage.  16 gigs is pretty sad these days and only 10 gigs are available.  I know you can add a 128 gig card (I have) but few apps load completely to the card.  Heck, lots of apps won't put anything on the card.  A flagship phone should have 32 and 64 gig options.
I also wish I could just load the bare OS and skip all the bells and whistles that Samsung's added.

  • Trying to decide 9650 or Samsung Facinate, are you happy with your BB?

    Hi,
I am going to get my upgrade, and getting my first smartphone. I will be using for email, txt, phone, and a little web. Are you guys happy with the blackberry, or is it getting out dated and I should move to the driod platform? Was looking at the 9650.
    Help

BlackBerry cannot be beat for instant email, texting (the Bold keyboard is amazing), call quality and battery life. Do you have friends with BlackBerrys? You can use BB Messenger to chat with them. In fairness, other smartphone platforms have instant messaging as well, but BBM is just easy and always connected, and you can see when someone has read your message (not sure if others offer this feature). And a big plus for me is I can stick a BB in my pocket and not worry about the screen cracking or scratching.
I wouldn't worry about the platform being outdated. RIM is still a strong contender because BlackBerrys just work the way they're supposed to. Get what's right for you, because these opinions constantly change. I still see lots of "Back to BlackBerry" threads.
Since you said "a little web," I think the Bold might be a good choice for you. If you were into heavy browsing, watching videos, or loading up on free apps and games, I'd say check out the Fascinate. If you want fun, innovative stuff that looks amazing onscreen, BB is not known for that.
As a previous poster said, try out both devices in a store. It's the best way to know. Good luck deciding!

Build quality of the laptop is great, and it's matte black and brushed metal is gorgeous, but the support is a bit lack luster
Brushed metal? you seem to talk about another laptop.
I'm happy with my W510 after having memory module problems that i solved, the screen is great FHD and it's fast and built like a tank.
It is an old fashion conservative laptop, it's not for everyone, but you get what you pay for.
However i do feel Lenovo shouldn't have added USB3 ports to the laptop as they are not supported by BIOS at boot, also i think most manufacturers should drop Displayport as HDMI is standard on all projectors and TVs these days.

Are you guys happy with your N97s? Do you have major problems with it? (I have heard some issues such as connections to internet without user authorization and can't be turned off, do you have that?)
What about the white one? Do you think white one will be a dirt magnet? Any dirt problems with white one?
    Thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I cannot say that I am happy with my N97. i am returning to Nokia after many years using palm products, treo 600, Treo 650 and finally a Treo Centro. The principal reason for the change is that Treo don't do 3G and I needed a phone that i could use as a modem for my lappy when out and about and, quite basically EDGE does not cut it. So I have ben running a Centro fully loaded with apps for everything, editing, audio and video playback, turn by turn navigation with TomTom and an external GPS, audible audio books, lock down password app email and web. All solid reliable and verything synced with my mac and goosync. The whole lot cost about 320 quid. So I wanted a keyboard that put iPhone in the bin as well as its rather restricted availability. N97 looked like the real deal ut am I glad I got it as a vodafone upgrade rather than buy it myself!
    problems so far:
    1No real sync with Macs
2random lock up at end of call initiated from screenswwipe particularly if other app is running such as music
3persistent problems trying to get contacts onto the phone, it would not sync with anyy service, google, OVI ,goosync , OVI suite on PC, eventually yesterday I got a sync with PC suite after doing a factory reset so I now have contacts in the phone but do not have a reliable sync to update them or remote backup. The contacts app is also **bleep**. No findduplicates, totally unclear search that is not at all quick compared to the Centro
4 sat nav poor compared to tom tom, maps ( yes the latest ones) are at least 18 months out of date with road construction, search frequently fails to resolve destinations  from downloaded maps or over the air and today dumped me 5 miles off target due to a bad postcode search!
5 random bugginess. this is occasional incorrect screen updates, failure to stop displaying nag messages in maps application and on many internet connected sites after you press the buton or tick the box not to be shown them again.
6 that side switch! absolutely useless. can't use it if phone is in car cradle. had to put nUnlock on this does work most of the time but not always, depends on what app is on screen when it switches off the lights
7 battery life absolute rubbish if you are using sat nav or playing music and probably using wifi. Also intermittent failure to charge from either the Nokia power adapter or a usb connection with a laptop, very annoying if you have left it charging overnight and you are travellin all the next day
8 could use a decent agenda view for the day like every other calendar app
9 phone, why does it sometimes use nokia tune insead of the ringtone set in the profile? no contacts have associated tone  and this frequently happens when no caller ID is sent by the caller
10 essential apps that I have to pay extra for, PDF reader for goodness sake! free on every other platform! quick office, Functional docs to go free with treo!
11 generally poor and inconsistent user interface, though that may just be in comparison with mac and palm OS, did symbian hire ex microsoft programmers
To be honest I thought  that symbian would be more polisshed than palm OS which is very many years older and runs on tiny processers and ram how wrong I was.

  • Are you happy with your Macbook unibody aluminium display brightness?

    Hi Mac users,
Can you please throw some light on what do you think about the Macbook Aluminium 2.0 display? I already got great response from mac users on the whole machine on a different thread but I also am reading a lot of complaints about the macbook display being very dull and reflective. Can you please share your experience? I am going to be a PC-Mac convert but just wanted to confirm.
    Cheers!

Let me first say that you're making an excellent move converting from your current PC to a new Macbook, whether Pro or 13". I switched to the 13" Macbook this past December and have ZERO complaints about it. It is true that the screen is reflective, but it's no cause for concern. bottom line is, the more light coming into your room, the more reflection you'll have on the screen. That shouldn't be the case in most household rooms, but it all depends on the lighting-(a lamp shining light from behind or above & behind will cause more reflections). you'll also have to maneuver a bit in open spaces, but the 'book adapts well to all situations. I've taken it to school, the library, Starbucks, Vegas, my pool, used it in my car, and even brought it to a few restaurants - it's held up great and was never hard to use due to lighting or surrounding issues.
The screen is anything but dull- every icon, window, picture, application - all are very sharp and full of color when open and running. besides, you can always adjust the brightness or the pixellation on the screen to tighten things up.
On a separate note, i'm now starting to take advantage of the new trackpad, and it's unlike anything i've used or seen in the way of PC. laptops. if you haven't, i'd suggest go to the Apple store, find a good tech guy, and ask him to demonstrate the full effects of the trackpad. you'll be hooked immediately! it literally puts the entire computer at your fingertips...you'll see.
I'm sorry I can't speak from experience on the Macbook Pro, but you can check it out at the store. I hope this info was helpful to you. again, congrats on escaping the clutches of Windows Vista and it's upcoming replacement, Windows 7. Once you go Mac, Microsoft's Wac.
    -Enjoy-

  • TS1372 what does it mean when you cant restore your ipod nano and it gives you the code 1433 ?

How do i fix it ?

Some users have been able to resolve this issue by simply closing iTunes and re-opening it.  It might even be necessary to reboot your PC.
Otherwise, reset the Nano with it still connected to a high powered USB 2.0 port on your PC and then try to restore it again.

  • Are you satisfied with MSI software?

Last week I bought a MSI NX6600GT-VTD128. I installed the MSI software that came with the card:
MSI Live Update: the program doesn't find the new NVidia drivers from December 2004
3D! Turbo Experience: just doesn't work with the card, shows no information
I uninstalled all MSI software and installed the newest NVidia driver: the MSI tabs in the Display Properties remain
    Senseless...

Yeah, I always do that stuff manually. If it works I generally don't fix it, unelsss for testing purposes. All that live update crap just puts users in to this false sense of necessity to have the latest driver and BIOS. Heck, it's so widely recommended in articles by supposed tech guru's to have the latest and greatest.... I'm here to tell you they are dead wrong if they dont mention the fact that there is no need to update hardware, unless there is a specific need to. Many times I see posts here how updating something for no apparent reason gets folks in trouble, especially when it comes to VGA BIOS updates. I even make money on customers because of things like that, almost on a weekly basis.
That mentality needs to be wiped out.

  • Are you happy with your X1900 XT video card?

Are FCP users generally happy with this card? Maybe the problem is only with gamers?
How long have you been using the card (seems like problems can take months to show up).
Have you added 3rd party cooling to resolve issues with heat and noise?
    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=90
I'm gathering that the ATI card is best for Color - that many of the features in FCP take more advantage of the ATI card and Nvidia. Is this true?
    Thanks!

I'm ABSOLUTELY happy with X1900 and I have been recommending it a few times.
Many people are happy with it and recommend it.
Yes, if you use Motion and Color this card is essential.
    Hope this helps!
