"are you sure?" message scares me but think I need automatic update.

Hello forum Im new here and about 10 of my questions have been answered by searching. However I have not found an answer to this one:
I paid for a music video from itunes, but I cant click and drag to my ipod. I saw another question like this and someone said turn on automatic updates. However, I spent alot of time putting music into my ipod manually and stuff. And when I click on automatic it says that it is going to REPLACE CURRENT CONTENT WITH STUFF IN LIBRARY. WHile that "might" help my one video to get on the iPod I think it might undo my work at getting my music how it is.
So are we saying the only way to get videos you paid for within itunes to the iPod is by enabling automatic updates? Cause right now I go to preferences and all the video selections are greyed out. What the heck?
thanks if you know

And when I click on automatic it says that it is going to REPLACE CURRENT CONTENT WITH STUFF IN LIBRARY. WHile that "might" help my one video to get on the iPod I think it might undo my work at getting my music how it is.
This simply means everything on the iPod willbe deleted and replaced with what is in your current iTunes library.
Since it is your library and your iPod, nothing is going to be replaced as everything is already in your library and in your iTunes.
This message pops up when you have it set to Manual update and change it back to Auto or when you connect it to a new computer for the first time.
Again, since you already have the songs/videos on your iPod and in iTunes, not much will be different.

    Hi all,
Maybe one of you can hel me with this problem. When a user clicks a command link to delete a record
I want to display a message box asking them if they are sure the want to do this, the message get displayed
when the user clicks in the link but the action never gets trigger.
         <h:commandLink styleClass="commandLink" id="deleteMod" action="#{pc_LanguageView.doDeleteAction}" onmousedown="return confirm('Are you sure yuou want to delete this record?');">
         <h:outputText id="delModule" styleClass="outputText" value="Delete selected Value"></h:outputText>
         </h:commandLink>
    thanks

Not related to the problem, but you should have used onclick instead of onmousedown.
As to your problem, it lies somewhere else. To prove it remove the onmousedown/onclick and see. The actual problem can basically be either that the UICommand component isn't nested inside an UIForm component, or that the UICommand component isn't enabled/rendered/available during the apply request values phase of the submit request.

  • Any way to cancel "Are you sure you want to restart" message?

In other versions of OS X, holding down the option key when selecting an option to restart or shut down the computer allowed the user to bypass the annoying "Are you sure…" message. This seems to have stopped working in Lion. Is there any way to bypass these messages? Did the modifier key get changed? There's nothing wrong with the keyboard's option key. The "bypass" works as it should in Snow Leopard.

Weird: after consistently NOT working for months, now that I've talked about it publicly, it has apparently been shamed into working as it should.

  • HT1178 I bought Time Capsule specifically to back up my computer at work. Only my computer. I completed the steps the best of my knowledge but I got the message, "This device & its network services will be temporarily unavailable. Are you sure you want to

I bought Time Capsule specifically to back up my computer at work. Only my computer. There are many computers within my department. I completed the steps the best of my knowledge but was unsure of which option to click. I clicked "I want to create a new wireless network". At the onset the instructions said I needed to connect with an ethernet cable, which I did. But I have no desire to connect to the internet, print from it, or have others access. I did deselect guest options, and I did put in passwords. But at the end of the process I got the message, "This device & its network services will be temporarily unavailable. Are you sure you want to continue."
I was worried this would shut me down and I wouldn't be able to continue to work. I don't necessarily need to connect wirelessly. It is connected via ethernet cable from machine to device.
Can you advise me how to continue? Did I choose the wrong options?

I bought an external hard drive called "Seagate Backup Plus" From the Apple store to back up everything on my computer and anything new on my computer. It came with Time Machine. The external hard drive disk had 1 or 2 Terabytes. Time Machine says "next backup: When disk is connected." "Oldest backup: July 2, 2014." & Also "Latest back July, 2."

  • OSX: 10.9.4 Safari: 7.0.5 message: "Are you sure you want to send a form again?"

    My system:
    Mac Mini
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Mavericks 10.9.4 (13E28)
    Safari 7.0.5
Most annoying message keeps coming up on several websites.
    If you go here:
    http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/s/laundry-sorter
and click on the "Honey-Can-Do® Wicker Corner Hamper"
and once in that item's site, you click to go back, I'm getting
a message, "Are you sure you want to send a form again?"
I don't enter anything into the screen of the item.  All I do is
look at it, and try to click back and I keep getting this annoying
    message.
And it happens with all other items on the BBB site.
How to turn off this blankety-blank message??
Its such a pain to have to keep clicking "Send" !!
    HALP!!

    Hi ...
I followed your instructions, went back a page but no warning on Safari. Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Downloaded iBooks on my Macbook Pro but when I tried to sync it on my iPhone, this appeared: "Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone "My iPhone" will be removed". Love the iBooks as well as music. HELP!

Downloaded iBooks on my Macbook Pro but when I tried to sync it on my iPhone, this appeared: "Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone “My iPhone” will be removed". Love the iBooks as well as music. I really don't want to loose my music. HELP!!!

From the message you are receiving, it sounds like you either, 1) haven't synced your iPhone with that computer before, 2) are using two different iTunes accounts, or 3) both.  If you have purchased music or movies through your iPhone with a certain iTunes account and purchased books through iBooks on your MacBook through a different iTunes account then there is no having both on the phone.
Apple doesn't allow content from two different accounts on a device at the same time.  Also if two "libraries" have been created, one on the iPhone and one on the Macbook then syncing will erase data that is not associated with that particular library.
If you are using the same iTunes account for both, then you should be able to redownload any purchased items (music, books, etc.) from iCloud, assuming you have set that up.
    I hope this helps!

  • HELP!!!  Message - (One or more applications are using the iTunes scripting interface. Are you sure you want to quit?)  How do I get this to stop?

I bought a new Sony Vaio Laptop running Windows 8, 64bit, i7 processor.  Everytime I open iTunes and then close out, the following message occurs: (i-tunes message - One or more applications are using the iTunes scripting interface. Are you sure you want to quit?) Then it starts counting down from 20 seconds unless I just click on the (Quit) button.  How do I get this to stop?  Please be specific, I am challenged when it comes down to computers.
    Thank You

This was extremely annoying for me, also.  I started uninstalling unneeded Sony applications to try to narrow down the problem.  It turned out not to be a Sony application... it is some functionality built into the bluetooth driver software package by Broadcom.  Uninstalling the bluetooth package (via the control panel) takes care of the problem.  Itunes also boots up way quicker.  But uninstalling it will remove features related to bluetooth and nfc.   For me, that isn't an issue, since I don't use them.  Since you said you're "computer challenged" I would probably just send an email to sony complaining about the problem.  They'll get in touch with Broadcom eventually (the manufacture of the drivers) and get the problem fixed.
Side note: the Broadcom package is huge...  nearly 1GB in size.  Which is crazy.  I can't imagine what it does considering the size of it.  Entire operating systems can take up less storage.  Also, I have no idea how it starts an itunes plugin without placing it into the standard plugin directories.

  • How do I eliminate the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?" when I close Firefox?

When I try to close Firefox, an error box pops up with the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?" I click on "Cancel 1 remaining download." (The other option is "Don't exit.") But the next time I try to close Firefox, the message pops up again. What can I do?

You can check the Downloads folder in the Downloads Manager (Library; Show All Downloads) for unfinished downloads.

  • Message "are you sure you want to shut down your computer now"

I am in OS 10.8.5 on a Mac Pro. I get repeated message  upon start-up "are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" Restarting does not stop the message. Nor does canceling it. It keeps occuring, blocking my ability to do applications. Because it comes to the front all the time, and the "shutdown" button is lit, if I inadvertently hit a return key while typing something else, the computer shuts down. I have a western digital backup disk-dismounting that has no effect. I have also run the disk utility permissions repair a few times to no avail.
    Thanks for any advice.

This might happen if your power button is malfunctioning.  Remember a slight tap of the power button will bring up that screen.  Bring it in for service if it is readily reproducible.

  • After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine:Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on? the WD disk has mounted??

After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine: "Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on?"  I've reformatted in Disk Utilities...not sure what I did wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "booted" from it.
If the Mac OS is installed on the external drive, then it's possible to start up from it, just as you do from your internal drive. Please open the Startup Disk preference pane in System Preferences, and verify that your internal drive is selected as the startup disk.
Assuming that's the case, then it may be that your TM settings have been corrupted. Turn off TM, then move or delete the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist. Turn TM back on, recreate your settings, and try again.

  • "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" message on start up

This morning on startup I received the popup message "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?". Canceling has no effect. The message just reappears on restart. I've verified the disk; it's fine. I've repaired permissions and I get this message: "Warning: SUID file System/Library/Core has been modified and will not be repaired. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Can you perhaps look in the console (/utilities/console) and watch for what's written around the time of the dialog?
    Perhaps an indication is there.

  • When I try to sync photos, I followed all the steps, picked one folder.  When I hit "apply" I get this error message: Are you sure you want to remove 30 apps from iPad.  This will delete these apps and their data from the iPad. What have I done wrong

When I try to sync photos or music, I followed all the steps, picked onle folder, not the whole library.  When I hit "apply" I got this message:
Are you sure you want to remove 30 apps from iPad.  This will delete these apps and their data from the iPad" What can I change to just download the photos and not interfere with the apps?
(By the way, the memory is not even one quarter full)
Thanks for your help - Pat

I have the same problem.  I updated my mac to 10.5, which then had me update apps like itunes, etc. then it wanted me to sync my purchased music to my ipad before i updated the ipad...which worked ok. then when i was syncing the photos i got the same message when i hit "apply" asking are you sure you want to delete the 12 apps from the ipad -  clicked "no" and brought me back to the original screen. Got the same message when trying to move them from the hard drive to the ipad.  WHat is going on and how do I correct this? Thanks
