  • Arrow keys work too fast on Polygon tool

    My keyboard arrow keys change the amount of points/sides on the polygon tool too fast for me to control, and not one step at a time! How do I change this?

    Illy is getting too highstrung. Give her a cold turkey instead of whatever she is on. If necessary, you may get her unstrung if you Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift while you wake her or Move the folder while she sleeps.
    If that does not help, find out whether the arrow keys behave normally in other applications.

  • If you "lose" your arrow keys under KDE4.x, try this ...

    I've been goofing around a lot lately with various manifestations of KDE4.almost2. Somewhere along the way I "lost" my arrow keys. I tried a lot of fiddling around till I finally stumbled on this easy workaround:
    Go to System Settings / General / Regional and Language / Keyboard Layout and disable keyboard layouts. This returned my arrow keys to full functionality.
    This is evidently a bug or bug-like, at any rate, since my alternate keyboard layouts in no way tampered with the mapping of the cursor control or arrow keys.
    I imagine I can now safely re-enable my alternate keyboard layouts, but since I'm so rarely using them, I'm leaving well enough alone for now.

  • My arrow keys are not working inside flash games

    Hello,
    Whenever I play any flash game, my arrow keys are not working. They work perfectly fine when I am scrolling the site with them, but not in flash games.
    I am using Google Chrome, flash player version 10,3,181,36 and my operating system is Win7 64 bit.
    Solutions I've already tried:
    Use another webbrowser
    Re-install Flash player
    Restart PC
    Try another keyboard
    I have this problem ever since the last Flash Player update.

    Hey there Questionair1.
    It sounds like your arrow keys are not working correctly. I would start with these steps from the following article named:
    OS X Mavericks: If keys on your keyboard don’t work
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13809
    You may have accidentally set an option that changes how your keyboard operates.
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Dictation & Speech, then click “Text to Speech.” If “Speak selected text when the key is pressed” is selected, deselect it or click Change Key to select another key.
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Keyboard. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must hold down a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Arrow keys anyone???

    Where are the arrow keys on the IPAD keyboard?

    The actual answer is that there are no arrow keys that allow you to move up, down, left or right when typing with the iPad keyboard. There are keyboards that you can buy to use with your iPad that may offer that function to you.
    You can search the web for iPad compatible keyboards that you can purchase.
    But the other posters make sense in that you can position the cursor wherever you want with a touch of your finger. It works much better when you zoom in so that you can make the text and the spaces in between words and letters much larger.

  • Issues with the arrow keys, curser, and text fields...

    If I'm using the text tool and want to stop editing I usually hit cmd+enter to exit the text area. When I do this, the next time I enter a text area, my arrow keys won't control the curser.  The only fix that works is restarting Photoshop. This issue happens very frequently and it's super frustrating. I'm restarting seriously 10 times an hour. The upside is I'm crazy fast at it now :-\

    I don't have a Mac like you do, but I wanted to mention that I tried a number of times to reproduce this on the WIndows version of CS6 (assuming Control Enter is the PC equivalent of Cmd Enter) and I couldn't make it fail in the way you stated.
    Hope you/Adobe get it working.

  • CS5.5 Fine Positioning with Arrow Keys

    We've just upgraded to the CS5.5 Master collection from CS5 on a vanilla Windows 7 Ultimate platform.
    I've been using the arrrow keys to fine position the placement of text boxes and objects for years.  It doesn't seem to be active on Photoshop CS5.1 and I can't see where to turn it on.  Am I missing something?
    Many thanks!

    You're saying you have the Move Tool (4 way arrow) selected, and you can't "bump" a layer this way or that by pressing an arrow key?
    Make sure you have the layer you think you have selected.
    Do your arrow keys work for other things?

  • Using a keyListener to draw with arrow keys

    Hi!
    I am trying to create an interactive game where the user can
    draw a line using the arrow keys (similar to an etch-a-sketch). I
    have a start point acting on keyListeners that will move around the
    screen using the arrow keys, but I can't seem to figure out how to
    get the listeners to draw a line. Here is the correct code that
    moves the start point:
    information_txt.text = "USE YOUR ARROW KEYS TO DRAW";
    var speed:Number = 4;
    start_mc.onEnterFrame = function() {
    if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) {
    this._x = this._x+speed;
    } else if (Key.isDown(Key.LEFT)) {
    this._x = this._x-speed;
    if (Key.isDown(Key.UP)) {
    this._y = this._y-speed;
    } else if (Key.isDown(Key.DOWN)) {
    this._y = this._y+speed;
    How can I modify Action Script to get the keyListeners to
    draw on the arrow keys?
    Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply! That's awesome. you were right, my
    script is in AS 2.0... I guess I posted to the wrong section. But I
    could easily switch to AS 3.0. I am really just interested in
    drawing with the arrow keys and using that action script to draw
    onto my own stage/ image. I have tried messing with the script, but
    can't seem to get the "drawing" portions of the script to work.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks again for the help!!!

  • My arrow keys start start repeating without touching them and a string of periods are displayed in an entry field (e.g. credential to log in). Or if I type an arrow key, they immediately start repeating in perpituity. It's like a ghost in the machine.

    After the last OS X update (a security update I think), two things happened:
    my iMac would not boot (gray screen) or if it did boot, the mouse wasn't recognized and I couldn't mouse to the PW field to log in - nor did tabbing or any keystrokes get me there. I fixed this by unpludding peripherals (back up drive), but know I can't boot unless they are unplugged and it makes using TimeMachine a pain in the arse.
    My wired, extended mac keyboard now types without me, primarily, as far as I can tell, the arrow key(s). .................................... So, for example, those periods you see here are because I touched the right arrow key and off it went until I pressed ESC. Also, sometimes they just start going off on their own. For example, I can be in sleep mode and all of a sudden the screen will wake and the PW field will start filling with periods, just like you see above. ***?
    Seriously, you would think that apple would have a response for this. I have searched their support site and NOTHING. I've seen some older threads on reseting certain things. Does anyone have any summer 2013 updates?
    Thank You!!!

    kaeandcolesmon,
    If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
    To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
    See:
    Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

    Hello,
    I have this strange problem with my laptop.
    The arrow keys move alone either up and down or left and right and they keep moving till i press many times on shift or alt or ctr.
    I need your help plz... and thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Where did you notice this issue? Are any special applications running when this issue appears?
    To be honest Im not sure about this issue but usually something like that can be related to keyboard malfunction
    Therefore you should check if the keyboard needs to be replaced
    Try to connect an USB keyboard and check if the same would happen
    If not, then it's internal keyboard issue.

  • Arrow keys are disabled

    A few months back my wife spilled tea on the arrow keys. My powerbook G4 would continuously scroll. I found a way to disable the arrow keys so they no longer function which stopped the scrolling problem. However, I cannot figure out how to re-enable the arrow keys ???
    Any help in getting the arrow keys enabled again would be great.

    Hello canmore32,
    First of all, Welcome to the  Discussion Forums!
    A few months back my wife spilled tea on the arrow keys.
    It may be simple as cleaning the affected arrow keycaps.
    If you have not attempted to remove the affected keycaps, to clean/replace, a good How To can be found at:
    How to Replace a Key on My Powerbook G4
    It sounds as if they are just gummed up due to the tea spill. Keep in mind you will need a gentle touch so as not to break the keycaps but you should be alright if you read the How To carefully and follow the instructions. There are many How To's that can be found online by searching for "repair keycaps (or insert "clean" instead) PowerBook G4" or similar using a search engine such as Google etc.
    If your arrow functions still do not work you may need to replace keyboard in your PowerBook.
    You, of course, will need to re-enable the arrow functions that you disabled originally, after your have followed the How To.
    Good luck,

  • Some of the shortcut keys and directional keys on the keyboard are not working in FF 4 RC1 (i.e. Tab, Ctrl+C, arrow keys). They work fin in FF 3.6x and other applications.

    Crtl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Tab, and arrow keys do not work at all in FF4.0b13 and later. I am not sure about earlier versions as this is the first version I have tried.

    I found this helpful article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381) and worked my way through the section "Some keys don't work as expected".
    All the following functions/settings are disabled or turned off:
    Text to speech / Speak selected text when the key is pressed
    Slow Keys
    Mouse Keys.
    The keyboard viewer just confirms my list of keys that are not working.
    Starting in safe mode makes no difference; nor does booting from the Mac OS X Install Disc and running Terminal from the Utilities menu. The same keys as before fail to work.
    This seems to confirm that it's a hardware issue. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Assuming you are using the Oracle sqlplus client... it does not support command line editing and history using the arrow keys. For this to work you will have to install a product called Readline Wrapper. See my answer at the General Database forum:
