Area text point text

All the area text appear like point text in all the files that I generate. I've already proven to change them from the text window but doesn´t work (no handles). Have I misconfigured something? help please!

As I (mis)understand it, you may need to Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+B or Ctrl/Cmd+H to toggle View>Show Bounding Box or Edges (when they are shown, the View list says Hide).

I am trying to work with area text in Illustrator CC 2014. I used to be able to grab and pull the handles to reformat my text. The text block will not allow me to do this. I have to select and nudge points. All of the tutorials I have watched seem to have the text box handles/points and allow the ability to pull them. What's up in AI?

What happens if you select the rectangle before applying the Area Type, then Pathfinder>Unite, and then apply the Area Type, and see?

Is there a way to identify if the Area Text box has overset text using Applescript? if yes, can some one let me know the syntax please.

Thanks for pointing me to the right post which has given me some solution. Though there is no direct method, solution given in the post really helped me out.

Above AS statement will only count characters that are visible, this does not include overflowed characters.

You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.
Unless you've iPhone 4S (looks similar to iPhone 4)

it's meant to work like that
so if you receive a message on your iphone you also get it on your ipad or ipod touch
to avoid it use separate appleID for each device
or turn off imessage on 1 or both devices in their settings
but that will not fix the issue that 2 devices using the same appleID will never be able to facetime eachother
the appleID is a unique handle for 1 user only

IF that is the only iDevice activated for that recipient, then no. It should not successfully send as an iMessage if the phone is powered off or has no data connection. If you have Send as SMS turned on, it should automatically fallback to SMS after a few minutes. Of course, they won't get this until they power on their phone, assuming they have a text messaging plan with their carrier.

Hi,
I don't know if this can help you, but I had a similar problem while invoking a web service. Eventually, I found out that the server was returning an html error page, and not the expected xml answer.
That's why the client code raises such an error... It means that the MIME type of the anser is text/html (for the html page) and not the text/xml type of the 'nominal' web service answer.
You can verify this by using a proxy to intercept the http request and answer involved in this web service invocation (use Fiddler for instance). Then, you will see that the server responds by sending an html page saying that something is wrong.

Table names for all texts are STXH,STXL but from table u cannot fetch them as in the table these texts are stored in RAW format. To fetch this text in human readable format use the FM READ_TEXT. To use this Fm u have to pass text name, text id and object name..u can get all data by double clicking the editor for each text..it will goto the sapscript editor(line editor) then from menu path Goto->Header..u will get all the info....

But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync.

Because you can text does not mean you can locate.
Tow possiblities off the top of my head:
Location Services turned off (check in Settings > Location Services)
Restrictions are set for location (check in Settings > General > Restrictions)

Changing area text to normal text?

Is there a quick way to change Area Text into normal text and keep the same position? Manually cut and pasting works, but it seems like an unelegant solution.

Scale inset in area text

How do I scale an area text object so that the inset also scales? e.g. I start with a 6" square box with 20pt text and .25" inset. If I scale it to 50%, I get a 3"square box with 10 pt type, but it still has a .25" inset. The problem is that the type doesn't fit anymore. I need the inset to scale to .125" so the type still fits.

Yup.
Edit: You could make the text object into a Symbol, then scale the symbol. Kind of a pain to edit, and if you need to do this with multiple text frames, then you end up with multiple symbols. If you use Break Link to Symbol the original text inset is restored, just like scaling it. This is a bug. If it weren’t for all the bugs, Illustrator CS4 could probably fit on a floppy disk.
