Arena Surround sound only emitting from right earpiece

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, my headset stopped playing sound from the left side. There are no visible damages to any part of the headpiece and no loose wires. The metal USB connector piece is slightly bent upwards but has been that way for about 6 months (and I've not had problems before). Reinstalling the drivers hasn't changed anything so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows of a solution.
Thanks.

  • 5.1 Surround Sound only outputting from one speaker on macbook

I have connected my old LG LH T360SE home cinema system to my white 13" macbook (late 2007) from the headphone jack via an audio Y cable into the RCA audio input on the back of the home cinema system. Unfortunately when playing movies via Plex, VLC or any other media player the sound only outputs through the front left speaker and sub-woofer. I checked that the other speakers are connected by perfoming a connection test in the product's setup and there is some background noise if you put your ear up against them. The 5 speakers work fine when playing a DVD on the integrated DVD player. Is there any settings on the macbook I need to change to make use of the full 5.1 surround sound?
    Thanks

You'll need to use an optical cable to get 5.1 surround. So you'll also need a little optical->mini-optical converter (which allows you to plug it into the 3.5mm jack).

  • Video with 5.1 surround sound only shows up as center left and right in FCPX?

When I import a video that already has 5.1 surround sound, the clip will show up in only center left and right, according to the audio meters.  Other files with surround sound will sometimes play in only the center and left channel.  I know the file has 5.1 surround sound because it plays fine through my home theater and it shows there's 6 channels in video information....It just doesn't play right in Final Cut.

Make sure your Project Audio and Render Properties/Audio Channels are set for Surround:
You then need to define your audio stems in the Inspector based on channel, like this:
    -paul.

My sound only works when I use the output port on the back of my computer, but I'd also like to use the one at the front of my computer for convenience. What setting am I supposed to change to do this? Here is some information about my system.

  • IdeaTab s6000 F - Sound only comes from the left side when using headphones

I have tried four different headphones including a set of Beats and the sound only comes out of the left side. It just started doing this three-four days ago. I have tried resetting the tablet back to factory but it did not work. Is there any way to get this to work? I would hate to have to return it as I love the tablet besides this one issue.

    Hi Cory74,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that Audio is not working as expected from right side in your S6000-F Tablet even after performing the Factory reset, as the issue persists this seems to be hardware related. • Sound only comming from subwoofer

the sound on my dv7 is only comming from the subwoofer and the mute button by the volume control is stuck on red but the volume its self is not muted

Try Uninstalling/Reinstalling the Driver for the Audio in the device manager.
Click Start - Right Click Computer, Click Properties.
Click Device Manager on the left.
Scroll Down to Sound, Video and Game Controlers. Click the plus-sign beside that.
Right click on the two drivers you should see there, then click uninstall. (You'll have to do each of them individually.)
Click "OK". (Do not check the check box.)
When they're both gone, restart the NB.
They should automatically re-install on re-start.
Re-start the machine a second time, try the sound again.

  • EXTREME distortion (Almost no sound at all) from right and left speakers -Please He

Hi, since no one responded to the post I put out months ago... I'll post this again:
I recently re-installed windows on my PC (a Dell XPS 400) and lost all my drivers. After installing Windows and the drivers for my Soundblaster X-Fi all of the speakers worked other then my front-left and front-right ones. (My speakers are a logitech 5. surround sound package by the way) I have also tried plussing the two front speakers into other devices and they worked, so its not the speakers.
I've even now tried using this card on other operating systems and using different sound cards. I have installed ALL the latest drivers, so I am stumped what the problem could be other then a faulty sound card.Message Edited by beilstudios on 2-9-2006:49 AM

I hear you about wanting to use your memory on your 64-bit machine, I feel the same way. I only suggested this as a test to verify the cause of your problem. I wish I had returned my X-Fi Elite Pro as soon as I started encountering problems. I have been using my onboard sound in the meantime and while it is nothing spectacular, at least it works.
I recommend returning your Elite Pro (unless a BIOS update works or Creative has anything to offer), and if you still have interest in it, wait for others outside of Creative to verify that it is at least minimally working before going back.
Creative hasn't shipped a new driver for the Elite Pro since last November, to give you an idea about the kind of wait you might be in for. I certainly didn't expect it to take this long. So I have a really expensi've sound card just sitting there waiting for a new driver which for all I know won't even address the problem.

  • Sound only playing from left

I thought my earbuds were broken because no sound was coming from the right side -- but now I realize that no sound comes from one of the speakers on my iphone 4 itself, either -- any advice on how to fix this?

The earbuds being busted is quite possible. I tried my Sony Ericcson X10's set of speaker earphones with my iPhone 4 when I upgraded. The things were decent with calls, but wouldn't play the main voice on iPod songs, just the background music. I changed to another set of speaker earphones and it worked fine.

  • Creative I-Trigue L3800 Sound Only Coming From Subwoofer

    Hey all.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why the sound is only coming through the subwoofer on a set of these speakers I have been using.
    Checked so far:
Audio Cable connecting PC to Speaker system.
Sound settings in Windows 7 (balance etc).
Unplugged all speakers/control thingy etc and plugged back in.
I am certain the problem is somewhere inside the subwoofer itself as I was watching something the night before they seemed to 'die'. I literally turned the PC back on this morning to watch something and the sound is now only coming from the subwoofer. I've taken the PCB out of the subwoofer to look for any obvious signs of damage but I'm not an electrician or a speaker expert. The only thing I can see is a slow-blow fuse which looks fine, and I'm guessing that if this were the culprit there would be no sound whatsoever.
Any ideas? Obviously these are an old set of speakers but if there are any diagnostics I can do to perhaps find the cause and fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated as I currently have no decent device to play sound through.
    Thanks in advance.

    mattbell_5,
Have you try using headphone on the laptop headphone jack and make sure that's working. If possible try plugging the speaker to another audio device like a MP3 player headphone jack and see whether the speaker is working properly.

  • Only hearing from right side on my head set

  • Sound only coming from left speaker.

I recorded live music last night from a soundboard in a music hall. The new belkin tunetalk pro on my ipod g5 worked really well and was easy to use. Problem is I did not have the right kinda hookups. I need two 1/4 plugs that converted to one 1/8 mini jack. so i had one 1/4 to 1/8 mini and they gave me a great sounding feed but it's only on the left as in the left ear. i downloaded to to itunes. actually it did it as soon as i pluged the ipod in. i did nothing. the sound guys said i should be able to split to right and left with something like garageband software. i impoted into GB and now i still have the great sound coming out of my left speaker and nothing on the right unless i choose mono 1 or mono 2.
my question is how do i split this and make the recording come out of both speakers? the file in garageband has 2 wave zigzag lines. one on top of the other. i'm sure there's a way but so far i've not found an easy fix on apple garageband support groups but i've not asked either. tonight i will have the right connections so will see how well a rock show records. last nights was an acoustic show with a guitar and vocal mic

You can't really make a stereo file from a mono recording.
Stereo needs two mic/2 channels in the recording phase. The best you can do is set the track to mono so it comes from both speakers, or create fake stereo by using two tracks and offsetting one of them slightly and panning each track to the side some. It won't be stereo, there will be no center, just Left and right

  • Sound only coming from one speaker on Macbook Pro Retina

I recently discovered, due to the lack of saxaphone solo's while listening to DMB, that one side of my speakers doesn't work. No sound comes from the right speaker, resulting in loss basically half of a song. The left side works fine, but zero sound comes from the right. Suggestions?

  • Sound only plays from one application at a time

I've been having a problem recently with my laptop where it will play sound just fine, but only for one application.
Explained differently, if I try to start anything that would play sound, and if something else is already playing sound, there won't be any sound from the newer source, and if I want it to play sound, I would have to mute the first source and restart the second.
Another oddity to this problem is that I can work around this problem by first muting the first source, then starting up the second source, and un-muting the first. This can also be done with additional sources by muting everything that came before it. However, this does not work in every case, and having to do so everytime is rather tedious. I've looked for a few solutions already (Checking drivers, etc.) but nothing seems to work.

    Hi V07,
Here is what I've notice when Im playing a video sound using K-Lite Codec [Media Player Classic] then while the sound plays on the background. I started to play the game LOL (Leagua of Legends) and it provides me both sound the LOL and video sound with no issues.
I tried playing video using Media Player Classic and open another video using VLC Player both of this application works fine with no conflict. Both of the player provide good quality sounds.
You can try installing K-Lite Codec [Media Player Classic] and VLC player.

  • Ipod sound only works for right ear

Hello. I have an Apple Ipod 5th generation. I have had it for a few months now. Lately, the right channel sound stopped working. Only the left ear works. It does not matter which headphones I use. If i pull the headphone jack out a little bit, I get mono in both ears. I have tried cleaning the headphone jack with a cloth covered screwdriver and alcohol. It made no difference.
Any suggestions, short of replacement of the headphone jack on the Ipod?

You should still have your warranty. Its for one year...found this out after my one year had expired so if you send it back to them you're still covered.
