    Hi Junaid,
    Please try these steps
In report builder change fonts of text fields to Arial Unicode MS
    1. Copy ARIALUNI.TTF from c:\windows\fonts to c:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\reports\printers
This path sould be set in REPORTS_PATH in registry
    eg.
    REPORTS_PATH =

    2. set NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8 in registry

when displayed in a broweser window. However, when the contents are

  • Times New Roman Font Not Working In PDF

I have created a template that uses the Times New Roman (bold) font in Word 2007. When I generate the report, it is converting the font (and all other fonts for that matter) to Arial. From reading the documentation, it sounds like Times New Roman is supported as a "Type 1" font, so I'm wondering if it doesn't work because the version Word is using is TrueType. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

I forgot to include details about my environment:
    Template Builder is version 10.1.3.3.3
BI Version is (I believe) 10.1.3.2
Also, I'm using the version that is delievered with PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.48, which (based on what I've read) seems to be much more limited than the standalone version or the one delivered with the EBS.

  • Indesign CS6 crashed, can't be started again (missing required fonts, cmap files). Reinstalled -- doesnt work. help?

    hi,
my indesign CS6 worked perfectly until yesterday afternoon, when it suddenly crashed and wont open again. all it says is "There are required system fonts or cmap files missing. reinstall indesign". Did that, with the cc cleaner, but that doesnt work!
working on windows 7, sp1 -- never had any problems.
all i can find in other forums is about the cs2, which is fairly outdated. why does this happen?! all my other programs from the master collection work fine!

ok, after a quite frustrating weekend the problem seems to have solved itself. what i did (for future requests):
    - downloaded cs6 master collection (since i had my cds not with me)
    - deinstalled old install
    - wiped the system with the adobe cc cleaner tool to get everything off
    - restart
    - install cs6
    - same error. no chance of doing anything.
i then installed a trial version on another computer to at least render my pdf. i then tried something new: i put the cmap & fonts (in C:/Programs/Common Files/Adobe/PDFL) from the working pc on a usb drive. when i "backed up" my PDFL Folder on my main pc into a zip (just in case), i gave indesign another try. it then started up -- since it was the first time a bit slower than usual, but it's back on track.

  • OpenType font won't work in PDF created from PM 7.0.1a file

Per my client's request, I had to purchase a lovely new OpenType font, AJenson Pro, for a book project I'm paging using PageMaker 7.0.1a in Windows XP. First it wouldn't print on my postscript HP laser printer, but downloading an updated printer driver from the HP web site easily fixed that problem. But I have done everything I can think of and I can't get the new font to appear in a .pdf created using Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5, which came bundled with PageMaker.
The font shows up in the finished .pdf as boxes with X marks in them instead of letters! I'm not trying to use anything but standard characters (no glyphs, etc.) in the font. I've been using PageMaker and creating .pdf files in Acrobat Distiller 5.0 for years and have had no problems until I got this new font. Adobe Type Manager shows that it is installed and it looks great on the screen.
I purchased the entire AJenson Pro font family from MyFonts.com, so I have bold, bold ital, etc. Their technical support couldn't suggest anything I hadn't already tried.
I'm planning on upgrading my PageMaker to InDesign soon, but I'll need a new computer to meet the minimum system requirements so I've been putting it off. I'm afraid to even download the free 30-day trial on my older computer. Any suggestions on how to get this OpenType font to work in a .pdf created using PM 7.0.1a and Acrobat Distiller 5.0, or do I have to upgrade to InDesign right away? I need to be able to create a .pdf so I can e-mail proofs to my client and eventually to send the finished book to a commercial printer. Thanks!

I have had this same problem myself with most Open Type fonts. It's very irritating, because it seems like most of the new fonts are being issued exclusively in Open Type.
I have developed a work-around, which you can attempt at your own risk.
Purchase the software FontCreator (I use FontCreator 5.6 Home Edition). It's not very expensive.
Open the problem font in FontCreator, and save it with a different name. In the process of saving it, the font will be converted to a TrueType font. Install the new version of the font. In my experience, you can then successfully use the font in Pagemaker, and convert it to a pdf.
This is not a perfect solution because there will be a *very* slight diminishment in the crispness of the lines of the font -- but this is only visible when the font is magnified to something like 6400% in Acrobat. It is not visible to the naked eye, or at least not to my naked eye.

  • "Save as PDF" doesnt work

Hello I've done a clean install of Snow Leopard and restored my system from Time Machine.
Now the print option "Save as PDF" doesnt work. It doesnt give an error, just nothing happens. What could I do? I've repaired permissions already.

Dig into your preferences folder ( yourUserName/Library/Preferences/) and >look for a plist file with a name such as:
    com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.EPSONStylusNX200.plist
...where EPSON would be the name of whatever printer you have.
Delete that file and try again.
Already done that, the problem persists :S
    Is that option grayed out?
    No, its not.
Might it be putting the saved file somewhere you can't find it?
Do the normal options pop up as to where to save it?
No, nothig pop out, when I click the button nothing happens at all

  • Xsl attribute font-size doesnt work

    Hi,
I wanted to set the font-size dynamically.
    I tried as below:
    <xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="incontext" name="font-size">30pt</xsl:attribute>
    <?attribute@incontext:font-size;'30pt'?>
    nothing worked.
But If I give the same for font-weight it works.
Whereas If I use <fo:block font-size="30pt">TEXT</fo:block> it works as expected.
May I know why xsl attributes doesnt work in this case?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
If i understand, you want different font-size for different text blocks which contain more than one row?
    E.g.
    <font size="1">Some text in
    first block</font></br>
    <font size="2">Some text in
    second block</font></br>
    <font size="3">Some text in
    third block</font></br>
    Something like that?

  • In-browser pdf form doesnt work and look weird

On following page I have a pdf form and it doesnt work and it looks weird(logo changed color, button missing, heading looks weird):
    http://www.palomat.dk/Files/Billeder/palomat/formular/Bestilling_PALOMATinlinemappe_DK.pdf
I've have checked and its not just this one pdf form, its all pdf forms that behave strange.
It is something that has started to happend recently and it works fine in both IE and Chrome.
I can see that the design of the pdf viewer has changed, so I am thinking it could have something to do with the fact, that there has been some sort of update of the pdf viewer in firefox or something??

Agree. This is a major screw up on Firefox part. Because of this, we switched again to IE. This is the worse thing Firefox could do for themselves and their users.

  • I installed font it shows in list but in css doesnt work

Hello I am new to dreamweaver, I install font Paint Drips in windows and dreamweaver CS6 when I choose the font in list in css font-family the font doesnt change on webpage. The css font-family name is Paintdrp and it doesnt work. Any help will be appreciated.

You have a link to your main_template.css file before the <head> section starts, that's a relatively big no-no. Move that link into your <head> </head> section.
Your "Backhand Brush" font-family will only work on a machine where that font is installed, you have no link to a webfont or @font-face rule in your css. Here are some resources to help you get that working...
    CSS3 Web Fonts
    CSS3 @font-face Rule
There is no "Paintdrp" font anywhere in your css, is this the most recent version of the file you're working on?
You have other errors in your code, run the validator at http://validator.w3.org to find them and fix them, mainly html text content, the horizontal bars, are in an invalid location between an ending </li> and before the next line items starting <li>, you can't have content in that location.

  • Custom fonts not displayed when PDF is generated using 10g Report builder

    Hi
I have two fonts , abc.ttf and def.ttf which I have placed under C:\Windows\fonts. One of these displays a logo and the other displays barcode
I have added the environment variable REPORTS_PATH which has value C:\Windows\fonts. I have also added entries for PDF Subset in uifont.ali.
But still when I run the report and out to a PDF file, the fonts are not displayed. They are remapped to some other fonts.
When I check PDF document properties in Adobe reader, under fonts tab it says
    abc
       Type:Type1
       Encoding:ANSI
       Actual Font: Adobe Sans MM
Actual Font Type : Type 1
    def
       Type:Type1
       Encoding:ANSI
       Actual Font: Adobe Sans MM
Actual Font Type : Type 1
    uifont.ali entries
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    # This example shows how to subset Arial True Type font into the PDF file
    # Arial = "Arial.ttf"
    # The True Type font files must exist in any one of the folders specified in
    # REPORTS_PATH.
    abc= "abc.ttf"
    def="def.ttf"
In Oracle reports builder, I am able see these fonts and select them in my report layout
I am able to see the fonts in Preview/screen output while running RDFs in my reports builder, but PDF output doesnt display these fonts
Is there anything else which is required to do ? Do I need to restart the machine after environment variable is added ?

In one PC were Report Builder is installed, we see "COURIER NEW - WESTERN" font and the RDF created / saved in that font works fine on server. I don't know if this helps!

My macbook seems to be going crazy. At certain points (and for hours) I get the oh snap page on chrome, safari doesnt work, macbook wont let me create any files or for example upload music to itunes. I restored my mac so im sure its not a malware problem. The only thing that solves it is switching off and on , but sometimes I have to do that for 6-7 times before its ok or wait for a few hours. Some help please

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • InDesign doesn't let embed the font while exporting to PDF

I used a font while working on a document in InDesign and later while exporting to PDF I got a warning that the software is unable to include that font.
Is there a way to go around it? It was a free cyrillic font and it's not possible to buy it. I suppose creating outlines is not the right way to go
    Thanks in advance

… Most free fonts that I know of don't allow embedding - for this reason it's not a good idea to use a free font. …
I'm no particular fan of so-called “free fonts” — you most often get exactly what you pay for. However, that having been said, in my years of gathering such fonts for debugging and problem solving, in fact very few of them are actually set with the protection bits to prohibit embedding. For TrueType and OpenType fonts, you can readily check outside of InDesign as to whether a font is embeddable in a PDF file. For Windows, right-click on a font file and check the properties; embedding privileges are described in one of the tabs. For MacOS, the FontBook utility can provide the same information for a font.
The problem is that when you attempt to use a font that is physically protected against embedding, you pretty much need to follow the advice given by Eugene. Personally, I would recommend the use a different font option, checking the font prior to using it for your rights to embed it in PDF.
Note that font licensing is legal minefield. Many fonts that are posted on-line are not really free. Some are shareware with restrictions in their written licenses that require payment for commercial use (often in ReadMe files which may somehow be “lost” when such fonts are reposted over and over again) or even pirated fonts (i.e., commercial fonts simply illegally posted on-line).
My personal recommendation is that for any commercial use, you explicitly license your fonts from a known, reliable source to avoid possible legal issues in the future.
