ARIS Solution manager synchronization error

Hi all,
we have integrated ARIS software with solution manager for the business process modelling.
the problem is data is getting synchronized from solution manager to ARIS. no error is coming.
but when we make some changes in the ARIS structure and tried to synchronize back to solution manager.
the changes are not getting reflected in solution manager.
kindly advice in this regard.
Regards,
Subhashini

Hi Solmaic,
Thanks for your reply.
ya that is what exactly is happening.
we have just now started working on ARIS. so we have synchronized a project from solution manager.
the possiblities we tried are
1. synchronized the project and changed the name of the project. and synchronized back but nothing is changed in solution manager.
2. Changed the anme of a scenario and changed a document and synchornized back but that change is also not reflected.
3. we have created a VACD, made the process type as scenario. but in the log we have got an information that it has skipped the scenario.
kindly guide in this regard.
Regards,
Subhashini.

  • ARIS - Solution Manager synchronization limitations

    Hello,
I made simple demo and I noticed that there are several limitations in ARIS<->Solution Manager synchronization. Could You explain me some issues or tell how to solve them, that would be very helpful.
    1. When I make model in SolMan and then import it to ARIS I have all elements and connections between them, but when I make changes to this model in ARIS, ex. Adding new element with connection, and export it back to Solman I have my old model with new element but without connection. Could you tell me how to export connections from ARIS to SolMan? What I might do wrong?
    2. Where SolMan keeps all data about connetions between elements?
    3. How can I do tree connection in ARIS (one element is connected to more than one element) and then import them to SolMan?
If You have any tutorials or documents about ARIS in SAP, please sent them to me, I will be grateful for Your help.

    Hi Pawel Tomasik,
What you identified is correct. The connections are not syncronised with SAP Solution Manager. If you have Busienss Publisher avaliable in your organisation you can sync in such a way that the Process Model link is added as a documnet in Solution Manager.

  • Wanted: ARIS/Solution Manager Benefits!

    Hi
I am currently working on an analysis that has to lead to a recommendation of a specific tool to handle business descriptions etc.
The corporation I am doing this research for is in a full blow wall to wall SAP transition. I am therefore very interesting to get to know exactly what benefits there is in the ARIS / Solution Manager integration. Can anybody in this community help with this - the more specific you kan be the better!
    Kind Regards
    Simon

    Dear,
Implementation and Optimization of Business Process-Based SAP Solutions.
To implement their corporate strategy and business requirements, companies need a fast and efficient way of mapping business processes and new business concepts to the SAP environment. Developing and designing a seamless value chain in terms of Business Processes Management is also a key requirement for adopting SAPu2019s service-oriented architecture (SOA).
ARIS Business Architect for SAP and the ARIS Value Engineering for SAP method provide procedure models, methods, technologies, and reference content that make the flexible enterprise a reality. These are the first of many practical customer benefits to be generated from the strategic development cooperation between SAP and IDS Scheer.
In SAP implementation or upgrade projects ARIS Business Architect for SAP enables enterprises to define business management requirements from a process perspective. Requirements are mapped using business process models and can be enriched with all the necessary additional information and subjected to analysis. The bidirectional interface to SAP Solution Manager enables the models to be constructed on the basis of SAP reference content for a process-based SAP solution. They can be seamlessly implemented in the SAP Solution Manager. A special BPEL interface to SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NW PI) supports end-to-end integration of existing IT systems.
These process models therefore represent an important aid to making business decisions, while also ensuring that the required processes can be implemented in the SAP system.
    Your benefits:
Process-oriented and model-based requirements analysis and resulting business blueprint plus alignment of business processes with the SAP IT architecture.
Comparison and alignment of all end-to-end business processes with SAP reference processes using ARIS, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP NetWeaver Process Integration.
Integrated ARIS method ensures transparent documentation and communication of the processes to be implemented
    End-to-end process-based tests.

    Hi,
The /usr/sap file system looks fine.
Could you also check the file space on the /tmp file system? This is usually less and SAPInst can fill this up very quickly.
Ideal to create a seperate SAPInst directory rather than use the default /tmp/sapinst_instdir.

  • Solution Manager Install Error

    Hi All,
I'm trying to to a clean install of Solution Manager 4 on Windows Enterprise Server 2003 SP1, SQL Server 2005 SP1.
I've run the Pre-Installation Check and all is OK.
At Step 10 of 42, Create/modify database schema I'm getting an error:
    ERROR 2006-09-22 17:01:59

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nic

    We resolved the problem.
    Problem:
Installation of 7.0 using MaxDb on Windows x64 hangs on the sapinst at the step CreateDbSchema..
There is no error in the installation log.
We are using the specified JDK (JAVA development kit) as specified by OSS Note 723909 which is downloaded from a special website of SUN.com.
We have tried uninstalling the other versions of the JDK build and tried other builds.
    Solution:
By searching message boards for the specific error CreateDbSchema, one of the threads mentioned that passwords for MaxDb can't have special characters.  Searching OSS yielded a Note 674430 which confirmed that installing on MaxDb has to use alpha-numeric.  We were using an @.  We dropped the database and deleted the user so it would be a clean install, and ran again using a different password.  Some other cleanup was done too, but we suspect it was the password.

  • Solution Manager Installation Error "SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1"

I am new to SAP and currently trying to install SOLMAN 7.0 EHP 1 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have read the documentation also. For JDK I have used "j2sdkfb-1_4_2_24-rev-b06-windows-amd64.exe" which looks to be working fine.
The installation process runs fine until it hits "Start Instance" the message on the bottom says "Starting instance xxx/DVEBMGSOO" (where xxx is my sid) and then its times out after 10 minute. After timing out I get the following error on the window.
An error occurred while processing option SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 > SAP Systems > Oracle > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step: ABAP processes of instance ORC/DVEBMGS00 ABAP: UNKNOWN did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up.). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS.
Though the installation steps are not fully completed but I do see SAP management Console and when I open it I see two process running "msg_server.exe" & "igswd.exe" The process dispwork.EXE starts in the beginning and then stops and stays stopped. I tried restarting all the process again but only tow of them starts and the process "dispwork.EXE" starts but then stops again. I also did a NEW installation considering a file could have been corrupted or something else but the installation process stops and the same place. I am sure ppl have installed SOLMAN on windows 2008 R2 and this error seems common to me. Please assist. Any tips would be nice.

    Hi,
    Please check the below
    1) ip/host entries should be in /etc/hosts
    2) patch the latest kernel for 2008 R2
    and re run installation

It seems you have not activated the SICF services...goto SICF transaction
Hierarchy type-> service...press execute and then activate all the appropriate services.
for e.g for workcenter services if you to sicf_inst transaction and enter here sm_implementation it will activate the required services for it
but if you are aware of the service you can do it directly from sicf.
Try activating SICF_INST ....WEBDYNPRO this will activate webdynpro services ...it might resolve your problem
    Hope it helps

  • Installing Solution Manager 4 error

I am trying to installing Solution Manager 4 onto a server which has an existing installation of SMD on it already. The play was to install SM4 and then migrate SMD to it at a later time.
While running through the system information check (this runs after I have input the path to the java component DVD and the location of the JCE policy) an is returned "type of instance in cache is wrong".
This seems to be related to SMD, the sapinst_dev.log:

    Hello,
I know this is old, but I faced the same problem and the steps I did to resolve were:
    1) Make sure there is nothing else under /usr/sap/<SID> and /sapmnt/<SID>
    2) Stop SAPinst and remove sapinst_dir
    3) Clean or remove /usr/sap/sapservices file
    Good Luck!

  • Solution Manage Diagnostics - error in the system setup

    Hello,
I have installed SMD and I installed one system with the Setup Wizard of the SMD. According to the result of the setup, it was successful.
However, when I do a self check in SMD, I get the five following errors in the Monitored Setup node :
    5 error(s) found:
No DB agent autoconfig status found in SMD repository for sv42/SM1. Please make sure system has been setup in Monitored Setup.
No JVM startup parameters setting status found in SMD repository for sv42/SM1. Please make sure system has been setup in Monitored Setup.
No Roles assignment status found in SMD repository for sv42/SM1. Please make sure system has been setup in Monitored Setup.
No SSO Setup status found in SMD repository for sv42/SM1. Please make sure system has been setup in Monitored Setup.
No Telnet agent autoconfig status found in SMD repository for sv42/SM1. Please make sure system has been setup in Monitored Setup.
    Can anybody help me ?
    Thank you

If you goto http://server:port/smd >>> Diagnostic Setup >>> Diagnostic System >>> Setup Wizard, do you have a message similar to:
Last Diagnostics setup wizard execution on Tue Oct 09 13:34:44 2007 :
    - 0 setup steps disabled by user
    - 13 setup steps succesfully executed
    - 0 setup steps executed with warnings
    - 0 setup steps in error
If you do, your Diagnostic server is correctly setup.
For Managed system, same thing, http://server:port/smd >>> Diagnostic Setup >>> Managed Systems >>> Setup Wizard, or check setup results to make sure it's completed.

  • Error in creating Java Users during Solution Manager installation

    Hi gurus,
First time trying to install SAP.
    Red Hat Linux 4
    Oracle
    jdk 1.4.2_11
While installing the Solution Manager, it errored when it was creating Java Users, SAPJSF, J2EE_ADMIN and J2EE_GUEST.
The error description read "jco$exception: rfc_error_system_failure: invalid request".
I want to create these users manually and continue with the rest of process.
I searched lots of entries, notes, etc., but somehow, my "old" pair of eyes (and brains, too) failed to come up with something I could understand.
So, gurus, please help, help, help!!
There are no GUI version of anything installed, no Virtual Admin, no nothing like that. I have to rely on good old unix (Linux) command to do (add users) this.
Can you please, please post the instructions (step-by-step)? Please have a pity on me since this is my very first time dealing with SAP.
    Thanks and regards.

Creating users manually is not the intension of the SAP Installation tool. There are other solutions available
A good starting point is to check if SELinux is enabled or disabled. I've seen lots of broken installations on Red Hat because SELinux does not allow the installer to create users. Check if in /etc/selinux/config  the setting
    SELINUX=disabled
    is set.
I see, that you are using JDK 1.4.2_11. Is this the Sun JDK? In case you are on x86_64 you have to use the IBM JDK instead. You can download it from <a href="https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=lxdk&S_PKG=amd64142sr7&S_TACT=105AGX05&S_CMP=JDK&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-">here</a> .
Also a new SAPINST may help. The current Installation Master CD can you download here:

    -> Entry by Application Group
    -> SAP Technology Components

  • Help Needed: HP QTP/UFT integration with Solution Manager

    Hi Experts,
We are trying to make HP UFT 12.00 work with Solution Manager 7.1 for enabling automated testing for our client. We have successfully linked HP UFT and Solution Manager and were able to record and execute a test script created in HP UFT with no problem.
Unfortunately, when we tried creating a new test script in HP UFT and tried saving it so that it is stored in Solution Manager, we get the following error. We have reviewed the integration procedures and authorization objects needed and it seems nothing was missed.
Anybody familiar with the said error or any suggestions where to look will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Detailed steps for replicating the issue:
Connect to Solution Manager through Tools -> SAP Solution Manager Connection…
    2.     Open Unified Functional Testing (UFT) 12.00
    3.     Click File -> New -> Test
    4.     Type even a dummy script in the Action window
    5.     Save Test Script by clicking File -> Save <test name> As…
    6.     Fill out dialogue box with Test name and Test version then click Ok. Note: I used Z* name
    7.     Error Message appears
    Note:
One observation is that, error message only appears when trying to save a Test that is not currently in Solution Manager. If I try saving the dummy test from above as “Z_CREATE_SALES_ORDER_02” (exists in Solution Manager),
I am asked if I want to overwrite existing test in Solution Manager.

    Hi,
I have configured the solman in accordance with UFT12.0 but still un-able to make conenction to the solution manager.

  • Problem with Aris and Solution Manager

    Hi,
I'm trying to synchronize Aris and SAP Solution Manager.
I'm doing installation and configuration following Administration Guide
chap. 7 from Aris for Netweaver guide, but, I have a problem when I
try to transfer projects from Aris to SolMan.
In the main ARIS menu from ARIS Business Architecture for SAP NetWeaver>
Aris Network>LOCAL>Synchronization>Maingroup, a SAPLogon screen appears
to logon to SolMan system, ask for Client, User and PWD.
I put the same user/pwd that I use to logon to SolMan, but ARIS cannot
connect to, an error message appears "User or password incorrect".
Does anyone have idea about this problem??
    Thanks

    Mariana,
try changing your password to all CAPS in Solman.
    regards,
    Jason
