ARM for Linux on ARM processors?

Emmy and Tinic,
I've ready through most of your posts regarding the progress
of Flash to Linux.
I'd like to talk to you and your investment groups about
(externally) funding a project to port Flash to ARM-based Linux.
Send me an email at [email protected]

    Dear friends,
Really need you help, please, please.

Then, I want to ask if the file for ARM Processor "j2re-1.3.1-RC1-linux-arm.tar.bz2" is good to use, how can I install it in ARM Embedded Linux OS. What I did through hyperterminal which link to ARM Processor as follows:
    step 1: mkdir test
    step2: mount dev\sda1 \test
    step3: tar -xvf j2re-1.3.1-RC1-linux-arm.tar.bz2
after this, it's always displayed as invalid magic, no such file or sth. like that.
Please, please give me some suggestions, what's wrong with that? Really sad, sad, sad!!!

How do I scan a document with my HP Deskjet F2480  in Windows RT for ARM-processor based tablets or computers? I have a microsoft Surface tablet and have no problem printing  but it refuses to recognise my deskjet for scanning I have downloaded HP Scan and capture application but no joy

Hi Billjames0151, welcome to the HP Forums. If one of these methods do not enable you to scan on RT:  How to Scan Windows RT or Windows 8 Tablets
Then you should try reinstalling it using this method: Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet
    I hope that helps.

    Hi There
Are you using Mozilla Firefox to access the console or Internet explorer ?
If its INternet explorer then please follow this :- +
    Installing TightVNC for Non-Linux Users
After Oracle VM Manager is installed, install the TightVNC-Java applet for non-Linux users to access virtual machines. Download the latest version from: http://oss.oracle.com/oraclevm/manager/RPMS/.
To set up the TightVNC-Java applet:
    Install it using the command:
    # rpm -ivh tightvnc-java-version.noarch.rpm
version refers to the version of the TightVNC-Java applet. For example:
    # rpm -ivh tightvnc-java-1.3.9-3.noarch.rpm
This should work out for you, try it in INternet explorer first, then you will know if it worked.
Make sure u restart after installation of the RPM

  • Deploy web service on ARM processor

Is it possible to deploy a web service to a ARM processor with the LabVIEW ARM module?  If not, has a web server for an ARM processor been done in LabVIEW before?  Is there any example code out there?  Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    skryger,
As of LabVIEW for ARM 2009, there is no prebuilt way to deploy a web service to an ARM processor.  (The only options under Build Specifications are Application, Source Distribution, and Zip File.)  That of course doesn't eliminate the option to build one yourself.  Perhaps someone from the community can elaborate further if this has been done.

  • Can Labview be used to develop hand-held microcontroller reatl-time products (such as based on an ARM processor?)

It appears that Labview can only be used in "PC based" applications. But many products are developed using microcontrollers or ARM processors. How would/could Labview fit into such an application?/ Low power battery operation is a must!

There is another thread that talk about Real-time programming using LabView. It also covers items such as PDA.

  • May LV for Linux run in embeded linux system with ARM9 ?

    Hello All,
May LV for Linux run in embeded linux system with ARM9 ?
    Tks and best regards!
     Bright

No, it will only run on Intel compatible processors.
You'll need LV Microprocessor SDK for that (AKA LVEmbedded). But you'll lose
the MMI. And you need to build toolchains yourself (although there is a
cygwin example shipped, and converting it to any gcc toolchain is not that
    difficult).
There is a special LV MSDK for ARM processors, but not for all of them.

  • LabVIEW Touch Panel Module for Linux

    Hi,
Does NI released Touch Panel Module for Linux?
    Thanks,
    Ali

    Hi Dennis,
Here is the article I read about LabVIEW Embedded Development Module. Page 1-1, "Taking Your Graphical Design to Any 32-Bit Microprocessor".
    http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371233b.pdf
About the topic you are right. I have the VI on Windows XP. I converted it to WinCE 5.0 with LabVIEW Touch Panel Module and it works perfectly. I have LabVIEW for Linux and I converted the VI to Linux and it works on PC. Now, I want to convert it to Embedded Linux that works on ARM microcontroller.
I am looking for LabVIEW Touch Panel Module for Linux because the only supported platform for that is Windows.

  • A reasonable hardware configuration for Linux OAS

Has anyone out there tried to run
Oracle 8 for Linux and OAS 3.02
all on the same toasted PC/pentium server?
Could you tell me the nature of your
hardware configuration (processor speed, ram, etc)
if you feel the performance is acceptable for
development (not for actual business operation).
The technical FAQ lists 48 megs and any
Pentium to run Oracle 8 for Linux which
    verges on ridiculously low.
I just want to know a reasonable
configuration to run both Oracle 8 and OAS .
    Thanks,

    I have been runnig OAS/O8 on a Pii/300Mhz system with 128mb of
ram, and so far I have no real complaints on speed. I even tuned
the SGA to give a little better performance and still have around
40 or so MB free. BTW, I haven't really tried to mess around
with the Linux version of OAS, but have used the Solaris version
previously, have you noticed any problems with the wrb starting
up? I have seen some error messages saying "No processes..." or
something, looks like an error.. have you experienced this?

  • Not complaining, just asking - date for flash 8 for Linux?

    Hi,
Just wondering if there's a release date/month/year for flash
player 8 for Linux. I'm sure it is incredibly hard to port, blah
blah blah, but in all the software companies I've worked in, I've
had to work to deadlines, and give reasonable estimates. If you
have any vitriolic redneck abuse to add, please do it somewhere
else, I don't want to be associated with you. Thanks :-)
    Love, light and peace,
    Crispibits.

    > Why is this version not ready and available?
Because it is non-trivial to port the player code.
    > 64-bit processors have been out for quite a while, now!
Yes .. and that is why the port is being done .. but it will
    be part of 8.5
(now to be known as Flash Player 9) .. if they ported FP8
    then by the time
    it was ready.
    > The Adobe corporate culture isn't crippling MacroMedia
    products, is it?
It has noting to do with Adobe.. this all happened well
    before Adobe took
    over.
    > This is poor marketing and deficient customer service.
I don't see what it has to do with marketing. Is purely
    technical. And I
don't see that it is poor customer service either. Indeed,
    MM/Adobe are
being quite sensible and responsible about this by making the
    port part of
the new FP9 instead of delaying things for all concerned to
    get out a FP8
port that would then be immediately out of date.
    > Well . . . RealMedia has filled the gap for you!
RealMedia is no where near what Flash does .. its very
    simplistic .. and I
wouldn't trust Real as far as I could throw them (which isn't
    very far).

  • Creative Cloud for Linux (Ubuntu)

Why not? So many Adobe users must use Windows soly for Adobe.  Google is 100% Ubuntu users.  They seem pretty on top of things.  Why not follow?
Market share not making it worth it to you Adobe?  Not many people travel by train before rails are laid.  Do it adobe.  Prove yourself hip to the scene.

It is oxymoron to ask for CC for Linux because by definition, and by concept, most things are free in Linux and Adobe is not in that sort of business.
    It is non-starter here."
"because Nix boxes are mostly used by hobbyists and academics"
Hardly. Are you aware that the Unix/Linux based OS is what primarily runs the internet? There's a reason for that. It's because both the Unix and Linux kernels are more robust, easier to handle and don't claim all of your expensive RAM and Processor just to run themselves.
Linux is, by it's very nature, a more professional system than Windows or Mac.
Imagine you have two video cameras in front of you. One is a consumer camera and the other is a professional camera. Both will produce HD video and in most respects, both will achieve the end means of capturing motion images. But that's where it ends. The consumer camera, for starters, will have a lot of automatic functions, a fixed lens, and be nearly impossible to disassemble or upgrade. The professional camera will have mainly manual functions, a universal lens mount to use professional lenses with and will easily be disassembled or upgraded.
To say the least, Windows is the consummer operating system, full of automatic functions and sealed in plastic. This makes is great when I'm doing consumer stuff like buying stuff on ebay or playing a game, but when it comes down to performing and fitting my specific specialty needs, it fails.
If you've ever pushed any adobe product to it's limit (editing a 300dpi banner in Photoshop, or rendering a 4K video in Premiere or After Effects), you'd actually understand that Adobe running on Linux would be the professional's choice; hands down. For the professional, especially the video and visual effects editor, our computer isn't here to have a fancy toolbar, animated windows, a million "nanny" programs constantly popping up with some permission alert or update alert and another million "Services" running in the background that have absolutely nothing to do with our professional task at hand. My computer is here to run the Adobe Software, and the better it does that means a win for me and a win for Adobe.
Either way, Adobe is going to catch on and make Linux work for them, or a new contender is going to rise up and get the attention of indy filmmakers and those serious about using their computers as workhorses.
