Armenian Mshtakan font not working in MS Word

Hello,
I am able to use the Armenian Mshtakan font on a Macbook pro using OS 10.7.5 only in Text Edit.  It will not work in MS Word.
Is there any way to get Mshtakan font to work in MS Word for Mac?  Currently using MS Office 2011.
Microsoft's website states that it does not support custom fonts due to security issues, and yet there are some custom fonts that DO work in
Word,  Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?
I've tried clearing the cache file for MS Office Preferences, tried copying the font in fontbook to the Microsoft fonts folder. None of these things have worked.
Thanks!

I've got the same problem.
Have you found the solution yet?

It looks like you're working with InDesign, correct? I would try posting your question over in the general InDesign forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign The folks over there will be able to provide you with more specialized expert help

  • I updated to Yosemite, now my laptop keyboard does not work in MS Word for Mac. Help!

I updated to Yosemite, now my laptop keyboard does not work in MS Word for Mac. Help! Any suggestions for fixing this?

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? Because I am having the same problem. I was actually in the middle of using Word when the keyboard stopped working. But it works in other apps, including in Excel.
Thing is that my laptop just got back from Apple for repairs and they replaced everything but the display - including the hard drive.
So not only do I have plenty of hard drive space, but it should be virus and error free otherwise.
I have only installed a few programs and redownloaded some of my files from places like Dropbox, but otherwise is essentially a new system.
Oh - and it came with Yosemite, so I did not upgrade to Yosemite and still Word doesn't work.
I've always had trouble getting Word to play nice with my Mac but that was also with the old, full hard drive.
This is a fresh install. And since I lost all my files, I only had like 1 old file I have downloaded from email and accessed and was in the process of
creating a new file when it crashed. I got no error, the keyboard just stopped working (to type). I also cannot even get Word > Preferences to even open,
    so it is completely unresponsive.
I did a Google search and under the Microsoft communities two suggestions to that person were that there may be multiple copies installed -
I have only the one - and that one is in the wrong place - again, I only have the one and it installed to the Hard drive (visible in Launchpad / Apps).
Another suggestion was that there was some problem with the updates. I ran updates and they installed fine. That helper suggested that the user
may have had different updates that worked for the other Office apps (Excel, PPT etc.) but not Word and that was at least part, if not all of his problem,
but all my Office apps show the same update version 12.3.6, so that cannot be the issue with me.
I've not yet tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but as I got no errors on the original install or updates, I'm not sure if that would fix it.
I've found that Mac just doesn't play nice with some programs at all.
And even though I have a factory installed version of Yosemite on a new, fresh hard drive, even when I booted up, my iPhoto app (which is empty) crashed. I am not sure if my iPhone or iPad was charging at the time, but I don't think so. iPhoto that I still have not even used has crashed several more times since, most notably when plugging in my iPhone / iPad to charge, namely when I declined to upload photos (by default) to DropBox. That may not be related at all, but thus far seems the only other problem I have encountered until this Word problem.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, Sept. 2009, running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 factory installed from Apple repairs running Office: 2008 for Mac (Home and Student edition).
Please advise if you found a resolution and what it was.
    Thanks

  • Keyboard shortcuts do not work in Microsoft word

Why sometimes the keyboard shortcuts (e.g. command a, command c, commad v) do not work in Microsoft word?
And when I encounter this problem, I need to restart my mac. It's troublesome!
What happen? Is this the problem of my mac or my microsoft office?

I am working. I modified one shortcut and used that shortcut. It worked then all the other shortcuts worked. I had to use the modified shortcut first to make shortcuts start up again. This is a buggy piece of software.

  • Why does set font not work in report generation toolkit?

I would like to change font and underline when inserting text into a Microsoft Word document. I have tried using the
"Set Report Font" vi directly in front of an "Append Report Text" vi in my own application. The inserted text at the bookmark is always in the default text mode
of the document. Is this a bug?
I also tried the find and replace vi with the same result. Font will not change.
I also cannot  find any examples of this usage that work. See example vi file below.
Save at C:\ or adjust the template location accordingly in the vi.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks,
    Chris

That's a cool tool Ben!  However, with a bookmark, you know the location on a Word Template, and if you know the location in MS Word, you can then set the fonts you want in Word.
Do you know how to change the fonts in a string?
Example, How do you insert this block of text on a SINGLE MS Word bookmark?
    PART NUMBER: 1234567890
DESCRIPTION:  These lines are formated dynamically, some orders may have 1 PN, and other orders many have 500 PNs.
I'm formatting my line details and inserting them on a MS Word bookmark.  After the initial bookmark I have no more control of the fonts for the entire string block.  I'd like to dynamically change the fonts in a string and I'd like to use MS Word.  I saw HTML report writing, but, in my particular application, HTML reports will not work.
    Doug
I don't have the time to try anything but as a suggestion I would experiment with the range start end properties (e.g. from start =0 to end =
12 bold is true, from 13 to 23 bold is false, ....) You first insert text without formatting then you use the range start and end to format the text.
I'm not sure it will work but it's worth a try.

note: I would create a 2D array of start and end index of your string and auto-index a for loop that contain the range property node.

  • "Ultramagnetic" font not working

I'm working on a HUGE project which uses the PostScript font "Ultramagnetic." The font jumbles all the words together like this:
    Thisisacorporatefontsousingsomethingdifferentisoutofthequestion.
The font works fine in Word, Quark, InDesign, etc. (It does NOT work in Keynote which makes me wonder if it's an entire iWork issue)
I've tried everything under the sun. This is a corporate font so using something different is out of the question.
Does anyone have a solution or know the best way to inform Apple of this issue?
    Thank you!!

Corporations can claim support for type product that is correctly licenced. The professional procedure for you is not to post on a public list, but to inform your client of the problem, and ask your client to please consult the End User Licence Agreement. Of course, it is not uncommon in corporations to find that there is no understanding (outside the IT Department) that type product is subject to licence and that, if tampered with e.g. in a primitive font editor or in a professional fond editor used primitively, can become corrupt whereby warrant is forfeit.
By the bye, the Adobe Type 1 font program dictionary format is a dinosaur in the family of reprosauria.
Also be very, very, very careful with Linotype. Under Heidelberg, and under the current owners, the company has mass manufactured and mass marketed type product not only in Adobe Type 1 format, but also in TrueType and OpenType format that overrides the source character string. In professional prepress in Germany it is considered that under German law customers can claim the cost of the type product.

  • Added Font Not Working

Hi, I am new here.  I just purchased a font (Boycot) and added it to my "fonts" folder.  It works great in MS Word, but doesn't seem to work in Photoshop.  I have CS2 and I'm using a PC.  When I select the text tool and then the "Boycot" font, I see only blank spaces (if that) and then I get an error message.  The two messeges are:  "Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialised." or "Could not complete your request because of a program error."  Other font's work fine and as I said... the "Boycot" font works in other programs like MS Word.
    Thanks!

How do I do the adobefnt*.lst files process?
    Win2K?
Now he tells us! You do realise it's now Year 2000+9 don't you?
Anyway, do a normal OS search for Adobefnt*.lst  (that's .LST!) and delete all instances.

  • Installed Font not working

I found the Font Book and the font I want to use - Apple Symbols. I've tried a dozen different ways to get this font to work in WORD or APPLEWORKS, but it never shows up anywhere but in the Font Book. It even shows up as 'INSTALLED', but it still won't show up anywhere else? I've googled instructions, but they all tell me to just go to Font Book, double clik the font, hit INSTALL when the window opens and go for it. But nothing happens.
Where I would like it - In WORD there under the INSERT pull-down is a menu item labelled SYMBOLS. If I could get this font in there I'd be a REAL happy camper!
On a related topic, all my fonts in the WORD fontlist seem triple-spaced when I scroll up and down. What's up with that?
Love my new MacMini G4 - who knew they could put a whole computer in a chocolate box? Of course, who ever thought they could put a hundred LPs in a credit card?

    Welcome to the Discussions!
Apple Symbols is indeed a rather special font. On my Macs, it does not even show up in Font Book. Word 2004, as you discovered, does not recognize it as a symbol font. In order to use this font, you need to open System Preferences (Apple menu) and go to the International pane. There, in the Input Menu tab, enable the Character Palette and check the box for showing the input menu. After closing System Preferences, you should have a flag icon on the RH side of the menu bar. Select the Character Palette for many options for examining all the glyphs available and inserting them into compatible programs. I would recommend TextEdit rather than Word for experimenting.

  • New fonts not working in photoshop...

I have installed new fonts on my mac but they will not work in Photoshop.. can somoene help me? I don't know if I have done something wrong or need to take another step.. I am running CS4 and OS 10.6.4. The message I get when I try to use a font I recently installed is "Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being intitalized." Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most likely you have some corrupt fonts installed.
Try validating the fonts using FontBook to find the most obvious problems.

  • Acrobat Pro not working in Office Word 2003

    Hi!
Im having troubles with my Acrobat Pro 9.0 in office 2003.
The Acroat plugins in word are not working, the "acrobat-PDF" button is not working at all, when i select or press something in the dropdown menu nothing happens. the workaround on saving my files is to go to File > print as a PDF document.
After i finish typing my document and add a few links to webpages and "mailto" links and save/print it to a PDF file, some of the links work and other dont.
So does anyone know how i can get all my links to work? or even be able to use the "acrobat plugin/buttons" in the word program?
The guy on suport phone told me its a setting problem that needs to be adjusted.
    TY in advance / Nkla

    Nikola,
Have you checked the properties of the Adobe PDF printer in your Printers and Faxes menu? You may need to make some changes regarding the settings here.

  • Copperplate Gothic font not working in some versions of Firefox

Copperplate Gothic font not properly working in some versions of Firefox. whereas perfectly working in remaining browsers. when I follow the instruction and Restart Firefox in Safe Mode, the problem does not happen in Safe Mode. According to instruction for Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems, If problem not occur in Safe Mode, it is most likely because of hardware acceleration. when I Turn off hardware acceleration, the problem is no longer happening, then hardware acceleration is likely the cause of this issue. How i can fix this issue for Firefox on deployed site without changing font.

Does Firefox use another font instead?
If this is the case then which font?
You can use this extension to see which fonts are used for selected text.

It wouldn't hurt to clarify what you mean by "not working."
Does that mean you can see it and select it in the font menu, but then it somehow subsequently fails to __________ ... ?
Or, do you mean it doesn't appear in the font menu? (Please be sure you check the entire font menu, and not just where you expect it to appear via alphabetical order.)

  • Using AS Linkage name for embedded font not working in CS6

"Myriad Pro" with bold and italic styles embedded with the linkage names "Body", "BodyBold" and "BodyItalic".
Creating a TextField using Flash CS6's toolbar and setting its font to "Body*" works fine, but not when its htmlText value has <b> and <em>, etc, tags.
    This also does not work:
    style.setStyle(".something", {fontFamily:"BodyBold"});
    ... but this does:
    style.setStyle(".something", {fontFamily:"Myriad Pro Bold"});
Using the AS Linkage name worked in prior versions. I like using them because I can change global fonts for "stage" elements.

Is there a list of Microsoft Fonts that will work with Pages?
Are you actually seeing a noticeable difference in the fonts after conversion? While there are some difference between those fonts, they are very subtle differences and in all likelihood will not really change the look of the document.

  • Embedded CFF font not working in TLF in latest stable build and higher (4.0.0.13875)

    Hi there,
We are using embedded fonts with the TLF framework and since upgrading to the latest nightly build or the stable build, it stopped working. Here is a short example:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

         <s:VGroup>
              <s:RichEditableText textFlow="{tf}" />
         </s:VGroup>

Any idea why it doesn't work anymore. The same example works fine compiling with build; 4.0.0.11686.
