Arp entries becoming zero

Hi,
We have Sun 1280 servers running in our lab. We observe that sometime arp entries for some interfaces become zero suddenly.
Here is the warning we observe in /var/adm/messages :-
09:53:50 ca-a ip: [ID 903730 kern.warning] WARNING: IP: Hardware address '00:00:00:00:00:00' trying to be our address 024.094.103.069!
14:32:17 ca-a ip: [ID 903730 kern.warning] WARNING: IP: Hardware address '08:00:20:ad:37:18' trying to be our address 024.094.103.068!

Hello,
the default ARP timeout on the MSFC is 14400 seconds, or 4 hours. The CAM (MAC address table) default timeout is 300 seconds.
You actually might want to set the CAM agingtime to 4 hours as well, in order to avoid possible IP unicast traffic flooding...

Actual quantity in service tab page becoming zero after updation

Dear friends,
We updated validity start date, end date in header and the field "form.val.2" in service tab page in item details of a service line item(item category D) in a Purchase order using the function module 'BAPI_PO_CHANGE'. After updation we observed the actual quantity (which denotes the total GR qty) becoming zero, making the PO completely open and allowing creation of service entry sheet for full quantity. This happend for so many POs. Now we want to correct the actual quantity. But as it is in display mode it now become difficult to change the actual quantity through any function module.
Seeking for a genuine solution about how to correct the actual quantity.

Creating arp entry within stream module

HI all.
I'm tying to create an arp entry from within a stream modules stacked between eri and ip. My module is loaded on two interface (eri0 and eri1) and is use as a mangler for packet flowing through it. It take a packet on one interface do some processing on it if neccessary and put it on the other. My two interface are set in promiscious mode using dlpi promisc on message. This way the server become transparent to the network if placed in the critical path. My problem is the server must have only one ip address configured.
Ex:
Here there my two stream.

I got some host on the network on both side of my server which is in the critical path between the two segment of the same network. ( hope i'm clear). host on segment can talk to other on the other side perfectly. host on the side of the interface with the valid ip address can communicate with service running on the server but the one on the side with the dummy ip can't. This is because there is no arp entry in the table for this ip with the valid interface (eri0). If i add one myself it work fine. I must mention that there is an entry in the arp table for the host ip with the invalid interface and that i respond myself to the arp request comming from the side of the invalid interface. When a connection is tried to the eri1side i see arp request from my server on the read queue of my module comming from eri0 because of promiscious mode data feedback. I send this request on the other queue and when i get the reply I tried to sending M_PROTO DL_UNITDATA_IND on the queue of the valide interface. Whitout success as you could see.
I read on other post. That's was because of the fastpath routing. I actually see ioctl message comming downstream when i load my module ont both interface. I tried founding info about these but couldn't. Could i just respond to this ioctl with IOCNACK with the same data to disable? Is this a request to enable fast routing? (the first two byte are 0x4050 if i remember)
If you know what i'm trying to do is impossible please tell me.

It is possible. I effectivly have to disable fast path for it to work. to disable you have to intercept M_IOCTL msg and qreply with M_IOCNAK - EINVAL if it's a DL_IOC_HDR_INFO ioc_cmd. This ioctl isn't the 0x4050???? one but is 0x0000440a.

Value of Manual Pricing Condition is becoming zero while saving.

My clientu2019s pricing calculation requirement is complex. Here I am mentioning :-
We have one pricing condition type YPR4 which is header as well as item condition. Value will come only from condition record . So, we maintained access sequence in the configuration. Beside this we maintained u2018Manual entries u2018 in the configuration as u2018Not possible to process manuallyu2019. Condition record for this pricing condition type we maintain for line items.
We have another pricing condition type Y255 which is also Item condition as well as header condition. For this pricing condition value ( header level) can come from condition records if record exist , or , if condition record is not there or if user wants, user can enter value in header level of the sales order. For getting this functionality we maintained access sequence and u2018Manual Entryu2019 in the condition type configuration we have maintained as u2018No Limitationu2019.
In the line item level Y255 will come only if YPR4 is there for that item. The total value of the Y255 in the header will need to be distributed in the line items accordingly as per existence of YPR4 in the line item.
Issue:
Now the issue is that, when there no condition record for Y255 and when we are entering the value of Y255 manually in the header, the value of Y255 is becoming zero when we are moving from one screen to another screen in the same sales order , or when we are saving the sales order..
Can anybody suggest what we need to do so that manually entered value of Y255 remains in the sales order after moving to another screen or after saving the sales order ?

Please check the pricing routines funcationality which is assigned to both condition types.check the requirement and alt.cal. type routines of Y225 condition , on what basis condition record is updating manully entry as well as picking value from condition records.

ARP Entry not seen in Backup Router

Hi,
we have two routers,one primary and a secondary configured with HSRP.HSRP is working fine.
But when we see the arp entry in these routers,for some given IPs, the arp entry is listed in primary router but not in the secondary router.
Also,Cam Entries can be seen in the switch, but arp entry can't be seen in MSFC (ie Secondary Router).
Can anyone address this issue??

By default, ARP entries age out of the ARP cache after certain period of time (i believe it's 4 hrs). Since the standby HSRP device wouldn't be forwarding any traffic to the hosts this behavior is normal. Should the standby HSRP router become the active one and then it would arp and resolve the IP to MAC address.

Target Cost in the settled process order become zero after cost deletion

Dear all,
User has standard cost estimates created in Jan 2010 that valid until the end of 2010 for every material in the system. user created a process order in April 2010. Target cost of the order was created based on the standard cost estimate and recipes as well as order qty. The order was also confirmed and settled in April 2010 without problem.
However, after I deleted all old costing estimates before I did a costing run for all materials in May 2010, the old order was resettled and all Target cost is removed from the order. I guess system try to look at April costing estimate but it is not there since it was deleted before I created the new costing estimate in May. Therefore, all varainces are throwed into remaining variances since the target cost become zero.
Other than mark the settled order for deletion or keep all old costing estimates, I am just wondering is anyway in the configuration to prevent the system to recaculate the target cost again for the settlement so I can avoid the problem happens?

Hi,
Target costs are only calculated after goods movements have occured on the order, the Target Costs are then calculated during the Variance calculation.
Target costs will only be calculated after the first goods receipt has been posted to the order. Also you have to ensure that the information to calculate target costs exists on the system in particular in OKV6.
This estimation is based on the customizing for the Target cost version in transaction OKV6 as in turn will the "real" calculation of the Target costs via the variance calculation.
So in OKV6 the Target cost will be based on preliminary costing on the order, an alternative cost estimate or the current standard cost estimate. Importantly if the choosen option is not fulfilled e.g. no current standard cost estimate, the target costs will not be predicted or calculated.

How to setup a static multicast ARP entry with Cisco SF300-08?

We're running a cluster in multicast mode as a loadbalancer.
We have Cisco SF300-08 and when we adding a static ARP entry results in an error message telling the user that the hardware address needs to be a valid unicast MAC address.
So how to setup a static multicast in Cisco SF300 or maybe someone know other solution to setup multicastes mode in Cisco SF300.

We have two watchguard xtm505(cluster active-active) in our network. Watchguard interfaces have one ip and one mac adresses. IP 192.168.111.1(Unicast) and MAC 01:00:5e:02:02:03(multicast). Cisco SF300 is router to outside networks(to internet). Cisco IP adresss is 192.168.111.254. There are another some hosts in this network.
Ping from hosts to 192.168.111.254 works well. Ping from hosts to 192.168.111.1 works well too. But there is no ping from watchguard cluster(192.168.111.1) to Cisco(192.168.111.254). And there is no routing to internet
This is well-known situation. We need to do following(example for cisco 3750):
1.    Start the Cisco 3750 command line interface.
2.    Add a static ARP entry for the multicast MAC address of the FireCluster interface.
Type this command:
arp arpa
For this example, type:
arp 192.168.111.1 01:00:5e:02:02:03 arpa
3.    Add an entry to the MAC address table.
Type this command:
mac-address-table static vlan interface <#>
For this example, type:
mac-address-table static 01:00:5e:02:02:03 vlan 1 interface gi1/0/11
But we can't add arp entry on Cisco SF300. CLI tells us "MAC address illegal"!
We tried enable igmp snooping, but is not helps.
Could you tell more detailed about MAC groups?

Moving average price has become Zero

Can you please help us , if you have any ...this kind of situation in your projects.
Scenerio:
We are using Workflow mechanism for creation material in Master data client
01. After creation of Material, it will go for approval (to six departments in SAP Itself ) and after their approvals,it will be moved to "Book of Records"( to Transactional client)
02.If the requester is submit the Material for approvals, it will create IDOC and will be moved to "Book of Records"( to Transactional client).
03.If any error is there in the Material views, IDOC will be failed in Outbond system( Transactional client)
in this case.We use BD10 to move the changes manually.
Problem is,
01.We moved manually 10 materials on 29/10/2008 through BD10 to Transactional client .in this case, we observed that, the moving average price(VERPR) ,Commercial price 2 (BWPH1),and Moving average price (if the price control is S) (SALKV) has become Zero.
Why ?
Why this 3 fields become Zero ?
Is there any link between these fields and How ?
Note: Price control "S" is maintained to the above all the materials.
Can any body help us to find out the reason ?
*What is the solution to find the Moving average price now and to update as on date ?
Is there any field , we can see the Moving average price in backend ?*

There is a problem that we are supporting to China and they have a local ledger and they will calculate the actual costing based on tha moving price.Now these 10 Materials are Finished goods and are available in 30 plants each.
Taking the MAP from the each plant and calucating it ... is very problem and headache Job .
My question is ....
How it got deleted and why ?
Is there any relation between these three fileds ?
Easiest way of collecting the MAP ?
Any thought will get the appreciation..

Normally when you create a new material, you need to provide the price manually for the first time. Now since you said your price control is "S". Otherwise your IDoc should have a price for the Standard price when it is "S" and Moving Average price when it is "V".
It can be ZERO if you intend to create and release a std cost esatimte (For internally produced materials).

Net Value in sales order becomes zero after changing the employ responsible in Web UI

Hi All,
We are in CRM 7.0 with EHP1, when we change employ responsible in the sales order and save, Net value is becoming zeroes.
This is effecting most of the transactions. There is no custom development, every thing is standard.
Could any one suggest me this.

Confirmed quantity becomes zero in process order

What scenario did the confirmed quantity becomes 0 (zero) even though it has value upon the creation of the process order.
You can see the confirmed quantity on the material list of the process order. The RESB table for the component becomes zero. But how it was become zero was the very big question.

Mass Contract Update - Item price become zero after Tax Code change

HI Guru,
I have issue on the contract net price which become zero after change in Tax code of item.
Took the opportunity to update contracts to reflect the changing VAT code (from V0 to V1 for some items) from the Trx code: MEMASSCONTRACT. However, having run the transactions (ME33K) above the contracts are now displaying zero prices on the Item Overview. The conditions are all correct (PB00) and the follow on purchase orders seem to be picking up the correct prices but we need to resolve the issue of zero prices on the item overview.
Please help me in this why it is happening like this? & what is the solution for it.

Hi,
If pricing picking , just check validity period ( Valid from & Valid to) in condition of the Info record.Also check any scale is used & price active or not in condition of Info record.

Condition Base value becomes Zero

Hi all,
we created one routine to restrict usage of some condition types for Purchase Order . These are manual condition types .
Created one Rotuine in VOFM --Pricing.Wrote code in FORM KOBED_904 perform.Assigned routine in the M/08 Tcode for those condition types and in routine logic restricting condition types based on sy-subrc value.
when i enter another manual condition type in header for which the routine is not assigned the condition base value of the condition type to which the routine as assigned becomes zero. hence the condition value also becomes zero.
if i enters same in item level it is working fine.

How Cisco represent Arp entry's aging time in SNMP MIB

Hi there,
I found : when a laptop roamed between an office and a meeting room and used two different IP addressed in these two places, there are two active IP arp entry in Cisco with different aging time.
Please see the screenshot for "sh ip arp". My question is how Cisco represent the aging time in SNMP MIB. Is there any cisco proprieatry MIB to represent the aging. I want find the latest arp entry from SNMP. I can't see any useful field in ipNetToMediaEntry, ipNetToPhysicalEntry and cInetNetToMediaEntry.
Not sure if cInetNetToMediaLastUpdated is related, but I have never get any snmpwalk result from this oid yet.

This value is not available via SNMP.
This information comes via IP-MIB and the IP-MIB's ipNetToMedia table will just give you the hardware address, network address, associated interface, and entry type (e.g. static, dynamic, etc.).

Problem adding permanent ARP entry

I tried to add permanent ARP entry but without success.
Alway expires after 30 sec.
Does anyone have idea what to do/check.
