A requester is able to perform risk analysis even after submitting a request. May I know how I can restrict this?

Hi Faisal,
you can restrict by removing authorization. Basically authorization object GRAC_RA with ACTVT 16 (Execute) is used to execute the risk analysis.

GRC 5.3: CUP asks to perform risk analysis even when there are no risks in request

Hi All,
We recently upgraded from GRC 5.3 SP13 to SP22.
The one issue which we are facing after upgrade is that now CUP is forcing approvers to do Risk Analysis, even when there are no risks in the CUP Request, that is Risk Tab is Green.
Previously approvers were able to approve requests without doing risk analysis, if there were no risks in the request.
CUP used to force them to do risk analysis only when there were risks associated with requests.
But now, it is forcing approvers to perform risk analysis, even if there are no risks, i.e. approvers are not able to approve requests without any risks without doing risk analysis.
Please advise.

ARQ: Manager/Role Owner can modify request details even after submitting the request???

Hi All,
I have noticed that after Submitting (Approving) a request, manager or role owner can still modify the user details (field are editable) like role validity date etc in a request. This is quite weird!
Although, after submitting a request by a requester, all field are disabled.
Has any one encountered with this problem? How can I control this?

Yes, I got it and that is why I got confused.
This EUP I have defined and the desired fields are visible and editable and seems to be working fine.
However, the problem is, even after submitting a request, manager and role owner is able to edit the values in the fields which is incorrect!
Actually, once a request is submitted, I believe request should be only display mode!
You know what, this is working absolutely fine with requester. Meaning, once a requester submits a request, then all fields are disabled and values in them can not be modified any more.
But I am not sure why this is not happening with managers/role owners.

Perform Risk Analysis on Request - Not available via WebService call?

Hi,
I'm using AC 5.3 and using the SAPGRC_AC_IDM_SUBMITREQUEST to submit a request to CUP.
At CUP I have configured to 'Perform Risk Analysis on Request'.
This does work, when I create a request using the CUP Web Interface.
The same request made through the CUP Web Service request doesn't fire up the RIsk Analysis.
Is it a bug, a feature, a limitation or did I miss something?

yes, the SAPGRC_AC_IDM_RISKANALYSIS Web Service call work as well and comes back with risk information.
But this is a different story.
When starting a manual request and a risk occurs, the approver does see the risk in the approval form.
When starting the rquest through the WebService and a risk occurs, the approver does not see a risk and must start a manual risk analysis to be informed about existing risks.
This feature is very bad, because it limits the functionality drastically.
Is there a way to make this an enhancement request?

Risk Analysis Mandatory while rejecting a request

Hi experts,
We are using GRC 5.30 CUP SP 8
I have made risk analysis mandatory in the final stage. This is to prompt the risk analysis message when the user is trying to approve the request without running risk analysis to check for SOD conflicts.
However, the system promptsfor risk analysis even when I am rejecting the request. How can this be avoided?
It is causing the request to be on an endless loop and I am unable to reject the request unless the risk analysis settting is turned off in this stage..
Is this a bug in 5.3 or has anyone got this issue so far?

Hi Siri,
As Alpesh has said this is fixed in SP10. Prior to that, the risk analysis is either on or off regardless of the decision being made at the approval stage.

After submitting a request the find button does'nt work in R12.1.1

We have an instance where in After submitting a request the find button does'nt work and we have to close it and again press view->Requests. I think there is a bug for this in R12.1.1 as i have read some where in metalink. But can't find now. Does any know of this document or method/patch to fix this.

Can you find any errors in the application.log file or in the database log file?
Do you have any invalid objects?
Try to regenerate the form via adadmin and see if this helps.
Also, if you have any other identical instance, please see if you can reproduce the issue.
If none of the above helps, obtain the FRD file as per (Note: 438652.1 - R12: Forms Runtime Diagnostics (FRD), Tracing And Logging For Forms In Oracle Applications) and see if more details will be collected in the logs.

Getting "Risk Analysis Failed " error while raising request from IDM

Hi friends,
Some of the User to Role mapping requests from IDM did not reach CUP (request ID = null) . When noticed the VDS log , we found the error from GRC webservice to be Risk Analysis Failed . We thought it might be an RAR issue , however , the request just got through CUP when submitted from GRC webservice directly . From RAR perspective also, everything looks ok .
Please provide your thoughts as to whether this error is pertaining to some other issue or suggest me what I can check in Identity center to correct this .

The connector set up are all looking correct . However the requests are not getting raised in many cases .
At one point we identified that , since our SAP systems have been migrated to DB2, some of the systems were down .
So when the system is down we decided , Risk analysis is failing . however , now the systems are up and running and still the risk analysis is failing .

Error while performing Risk Analysis at user level for a cross system user

Dear All,
I am getting the below error, while performing the risk analysis at user level for a cross system (Oracle) user.
The error is as follows:
"ResourceException in method ConnectionFactoryImpl.getConnection(): com.sap.engine.services.connector.exceptions.BaseResourceException: Cannot get connection for 120 seconds. Possible reasons: 1) Connections are cached within SystemThread(can be any server service or any code invoked within SystemThread in the SAP J2EE Engine), 2) The pool size of adapter "SAPJ2EDB" is not enough according to the current load of the system or 3) The specified time to wait for connection is not enough according to the pool size and current load of the system. In case 1) the solution is to check for cached connections using the Connector Service list-conns command, in case 2) to increase the size of the pool and in case 3) to increase the time to wait for connection property. In case of application thread, there is an automatic mechanism which detects unclosed connections and unfinished transactions.RC:1

Not able to open web analysis reports after upgradation

we have upgraded Hyperion 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 version, after this process we are not able to open web analysis reports
These reports are still pointing to old servers so, how to edit this database connection details in the new version??

I think we need to change the database connection details in the Web analysis.
goto file --> Edit --> browse the database connection then change the server name in the connection details.

Consultants not able to run T-Codes even after profiles are assigned.

Hello Everyone!
I'm trying to maintain authorization profiles for SAP Functional Consultants. I want it so that QM Consultant has authorization for using all QM T-Codes & can do only QM Customization, same for SD, MM and so on...
For this I've maintained a profile for MM in SU02-added all MM related objects, and have activated it.
But once I assign it to a user he's neither able to use the basic T-Codes like MM01-2-3 or ME21-2-3n nor able to do advanced customizations.
Is there a catch I'm missing here?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
As you are on ECC6 I really wouldn't waste time with profiles. I'm not sure what your profile design looks like but you'll need transaction start auths (S_TCODE) along with the auth objects. [For those newbies out there, once upon a time S_TCODE didn't exist as a check and everything was provisioned through a limited subset of auth objects granting access to functionality areas]
Use PFCG to achieve this as with SU24 configured you will (usually) get the right auth objects pulled through into your role when you add a menu transaction.
While it would be best to start from fresh using a role, you could do as previously recommended and import your profile into a role and then pick up maintenance from there. It will be messy but one step better than chopping about with profiles.

System and performance slowing down even after Diskwarrior use?

i own a G5 Powermac
it seems to be getting slower. i have had it a year and a half. i have 2 G ram and it is a dual processor so i don't really understand why it should be going more slowly at all. I don' even burden it with heavy duty programs like Final cut because it is not right in the head.
what do you recommend?

Mac's get slower the more the boot drive is filled past 50% and really slow when nearly full.
Keep your boot drive less than 80% and ideally less than 50% filled.
Learn to clone your boot drive to a external drive and back again, this will optimize the drive and increase performance as Mac OS X is constantly accessing the boot drive for something or another.
You'll need a cloning software that will copy the entire drive, just copying folders won't work due to invisible and locked system files.

Not able to get Email Notification even after did all the steps in MDS

I have set simple Human Workflow : If new product come, then email will go to one of the user and get the approval from that user.
For that I created 2 Entities Called Product, Product Status. I have set the Business rule like if the New product has come, then the Product status will be ' Pending for review'. And I selected one of the user in Notification Column in Business Rule Management
Page.
From back End, I have set the data base mail profile and updated the column MDMRootURL with 'My MDS URL' in tblsystemsetting table.
But Still I didnt get Email Notification. What I have missed in this process. Please help me out in this regard. Thanks!

Have you any log information regarding this issue? If so, please post the log to us for further investigation(Right click on Database Mail, and select View Database Mail Log).

AE 5.2 remote risk analysis with CC 520_640

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if this scenario is possible.
AE to do risk analysis in remote system by using CC rules defined in a central system.
Eg. ECC system has mitigation rules defined for HR. ECC also has rules defined for Finance, MM etc
      AE 5.2 will connect to the CC (ECC system) when processing a request and check the HR rules for the
      roles in AE to do a remote risk analysis before provisioning the access in HR box.
     ECC box has CC 520_640 - ECC 5.0
     HR box has CC 520_700 - ECC 6.0
      Is this possible at all? CC configuration parameters are enabled and defined to do a remote analysis.
      Risk analysis shows risks when a remote analysis is done in CC. But AE risk analysis shows no risks.

Good question but quite confusing way to ask but anyways..
As you said you are able to perform risk analysis in RAR/CC on the considered system (remote system as you mentioned) but not able to perform the same in CUP/AE
from the symptoms It seems like the web service in AE for integration with CC to perform Risk Analysis is not configured.
Please go to Configuration tab > Risk Analysis menu > Select CC version
and enter the URL for the web service, it may be something like
hostaddres:portno/VirsaCCRiskAnalysisService/config?wsdl&style=document
or you can find it through following method.
Go to Web Services Navigator (same location as for UME) and drill down to VirsaCCRiskAnalysisService and get the URL from there. Finally enter the URL on the above mention location.
Then try performing the Risk Analysis on the considered system, if it is still not working and in case the web service is already configured and working for other systems let me know. We will think in some other direction.

CUP 5.3 SP 11.1 Exception during Risk Analysis

Hi All,
Can you please help in resolving this?
Our current client has RAR and CUP. RAR and CUP are connected to ECC and BW. ECC has SOD rule sets in RAR but BW does not. Can you please go through the following scenarios and help me resolve this:
1> ECC is selected as Application and ECC roles are selected in request. When I perform Risk analysis it works fine.
2> BW is selected as Application and BW roles are selected in request. When I perform Risk analysis it works fine ( 0 risks found).
3> ECC and BW are selected for Applications and ECC and BW roles are selected in request. The Risk analysis failed giving an error message saying "EXCEPTION_FROM_THE_SERVICE Risk Analysis Failed". <BR>
