  • Does Crystal Enterprise X support IIS ISAPI for viewing a report

    Post Author: karthiknataraj
    CA Forum: Upgrading and Licensing
    Hi,
The Crystal Reports Web Component Server (Wcsinsapi.dll) is an Internet Service Application Programming Interface (ISAPI) compliant DLL. ISAPI is the programming interface that allows DLLs (like WCSinsapi.dll) to extend ISAPI compliant web servers functionality for processing HTTP requests. ISAPI DLLs are generally registered to handle HTTP requests for certain file types. This type of configuration is done by registering a file extension to the ISAPI DLL within IIS. For Crystal Reports the ".rpt" and ".cri" file extensions are registered to the Wcsinsapi.dll. Common behavior when the ISAPI registration is incorrect includes receiving an HTTP 500/501 error or being prompted to save to disk when trying to browse to a Crystal Report (.rpt file). This is supported by Crystal report 8.0 & I suppose the same in 9.0.
My questions are, is IIS ISAPI supported in Crystal Report X? Whether the RPT file can be launched in a browser with the parameters as query string (as in 8.0)? Why is the Wcsinsapi.dll not available in the crystal enterprise X installation?
I hope the answers to all the questions are, its deprecated. But I can't also find the documentation that clearly specified it is deprecated in crystal reports X. It would be greatly appreciated if any one can point to the documentation that specifically & clearly explains about this or correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks,
    Karthik

  • How to configure ARR to Reverse Proxy to RD Gateway

We have an ARR server in the DMZ working fine providing reverse proxy for our internal Exchange Server 2013 environment and I've tried to create rules to allow access to the internal RD Gateway as well but when testing from an external client it never connects.
Does anyone have any configuration notes for how ARR should be configured to allow reverse proxy of RD Gateway?
    Cheers for now
    Russell

    Hi,
I think you can refer this below article might get some insight from this case.
RD Gateway/RD Web Access & IIS Reverse Proxy/ARR
    http://forums.iis.net/t/1210901.aspx?RD+Gateway+RD+Web+Access+IIS+Reverse+Proxy+ARR
Apart seem this as the configurations need to be done in IIS side, I would like to suggest you post the question in our IIS forum for further assistance.

    Hope it helps!

  • SSO With XI 3.0 on IIS

I've searched these forums and finding bits and pieces of information so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I've successfully installed XI 3.0 on a new server.  We're trying to get SSO to work from our custom application so that users won't have to sign onto BO seperately.
Most of the documentation I've found has been related to XI 2.
I'm very new to administrating BO.  I'm assuming that the SSO on XI 2 (which we currently have our users using) cannot simply be copied over (I've tried.).  Also, I'm assuming that the SSO is part of a SDK or API.  If so, are these installed by default or are they seperate downloads?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

3.0 does not support IIS for infoview, only java app servers. We can enable SSO for those.
As far as what migrates over from XIR2, the users, groups, plugin config, but the SSO settings do have to be applied on the web/app server(s)
If you get 3.1 (same license code) that does support IIS/SSO. You should get 3.1 regardless 3.0 was the very 1st version of 3.x and therefor has the most bugs.

  • Settle an AuC with investment support

    Hello Gurus,
    I have the following problem:
I have some AuC with investment support measure assigned.
If I settle the AuC created in prior-years the system settle the costs and the investment support to the final assets but If I try to settle an asset created this year, the system does not settle the investment support to the final asset.
I need that when the asset under construction is created and settled to a final asset (within the same year), the investment support iis posted to the final asset aswell.
    Thanks alot for your help.
    Christine

Normally settlement  needs to be performed twice, if the investment support measure is there.
    1) for Investment object to AUC ie WBS / IO to AUC. This called automatic /AUC settlement.
    2) From AUC to Final Asset: This is called final / periodic settlement.
But both these settlement needs to be executed with KO88/ CJ88.

  • Cold fusion 9 Installation on Windows server 2008 (IIS 7.0) - IIS websites not working ?

I am having a 64 bit machine on which windows server 2008 R2 is installed. IIS 7.0 is configured and running on it. on which I have my organisations main website. I have to install Cold fusion on this machine as some of my site pages are designed with CF.
I used all the default settings for installing cold fusion 9. It got completed succefully. But after I restarted my system and tried accesing my ASP.net website it was not loading the page. Text getting displayed was only as follows '<script> src="'. Later I unsistalled CF and my site was working fine.
Please can any one guide me to successfully install Cold fusion without disturbing my main site deployed on IIS ?

Sarfarajms, I don't recognize what about the CF install would conflict with ASP.NET, but I'll note this:
If you downloaded CF 9 recently, you are still running 9.0--which does NOT formally support IIS 7. If you followed the steps about enabling IIS 6 compatibility and such (in the install guide or some blog entry), perhaps that caused the conflict.
Instead, you will want to install 9.0.1 (CF 9 Updater 1, which is NOT provided in the current 9.0 install). THAT is the first release to formally support IIS 7. And if you read the updater installation guide (http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/coldfusion/901/cf901install.pdf), it discusses how to deal with the upgrade depending on what you had done with respect to IIS, starting at the bottom of its page 8.
    Hope that helps.

  • Using ARR to forward OWA requests to Exchange (On Premises) gives Server Error 502

I have been struggling to configure a Windows Essentials Experience and Exchange On Premises system for our company.
I have two hyper-v guest servers running Server 2012 R2, one with the Windows Essentials Experience role installed and one with Exchange 2013.  After weeks of trying to get various parts of the configuration installed, following the various Microsoft
guides, I thought I had finally managed to do it but have failed, again, at the final hurdle.
Exchange is working and users can connect to OWA from inside the domain using the same URL as the external URL.  However when accessed from the internet we get "502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server."
I have tried to do some tracing in IIS but don't seem to get any results.  Can anyone shed any light on how to resolve this issue so I don't have to tear any more of my hair out!
    Thanks in advance

    Hi RicoE,
On current situation, please go to
Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer and run a test, then monitor the result.
In addition, please refer to Post-installation tasks section in following article, then check if correctly
set up an on-premises server that is running Exchange Server on a Windows Server Essentials network.
    Integrate an On-Premises Exchange Server
    with Windows Server Essentials
Please also refer to following KB and check if can help you.
FIX: ARR does not route requests correctly when you use the
    ARR module in IIS 7.0
By the way, please use the
Configuration Troubleshooter tool that Robert created to check IIS and Certificates.

  • Solution: iPad/iPhone Login issues with IIS as Reverse Proxy (Android and Windows Phone works)

    Hi,
I had issues with iPad/iPhone access from external and tried a lot. Now I found my solution I like to share.
I setup a IIS on Windows Server 2012 with ARR 2.5 and Android and Windows Phone could login but not iPad and iPhone.
The IIS Log on the reverse proxy showed:
    2013-02-26 12:03:31 <IP> POST /webticket/webticketservice.svc X-ARR-CACHE-HIT=0&X-ARR-LOG-ID=1996c8d7-09d0-4310-8da4-a8dfb7940e28 443 - <ClientIP> Lync%202010/1.6+CFNetwork/609+Darwin/13.0.0 - 401 0 0 124

First Request gets a 401 while anonymous. Second try would be with authentication but it never reached the internal front end server.
After I installed a fix for ARR

    Hi,
This resolved our problem too!! So happy after 2 weeks of messing around with just about every setting recommended from all types of forums and rebuilding our reverse proxy I was at a loose end.
Our environment is Lync 2013 Enterprise, Lync 2013 Edge, IIS as Reverse Proxy on Server 2012 using ARR 2.5
We had Android and Windows clients working but no iOS devices at all. In the iOS log we were seeing
<h1>Server Error</h1></div><div id="content"> <div class="content-container"><fieldset> <h2>502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.</h2> <h3>There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.</h3> </fieldset></div></div></body></html>
When the client was trying to retrieve from the webticketservice.svc

    Installed the HotFix from here:-
Hotfix for Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2.5 for IIS7 (KB 2732764) (x64)
Rebooted the Reverse Proxy and iOS clients worked straight away for both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 on both iPhone 5 and iPad both.
I hope this helps others as I was losing the plot :-)

  • How to set up a FTP and web server and integrate with DMM 5.2

    Hi All ...
I need to set up a external server only for content publishing to reduce the overhead of the DMM server .
can anyone guide me on how to set up the external server and intergrate it with the DMM 5.2
    Thanks

    semuthu,
    Notes from the Release Notes:
Compatibility Limitations with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
DMPs that use firmware release 5.2 are compatible with only one version of Microsoft Internet Information Server.
That supported version is IIS 6.0 for Windows 2003 Enterprise. If you do not have the supported IIS version but
want your DMPs to retrieve assets from a webserver, we recommend that you use Apache instead of IIS.
I would suggest using Apache instead of IIS for the webserver service. IIS can be used as FTP if needed.
There are plenty of Documents on the Web about setting up Apache and FTP for servers.
    Using Apache with Microsoft Windows
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/platform/windows.html
Quick HOWTO : Ch20 : The Apache Web Server
    http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch20_:_The_Apache_Web_Server
Once the Webserver is setup and operational. You simply store your media content on the Webserver
and then have your DMS assets in the media library use an external URL address for its location.
If you want to use external server for other features in the DMM, you can can see how to configure
    here:

  • Either the Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable or none of them has a mapping to process

We have an IIS install on Windows R2 Standard with a few different websites, 2 of which use ColdFusion 9 successfully.
I've added a new website, but could not get CF to work, getting the message above. To troubleshoot, I've done the following:
    Restarted the web server
Manually adding the mappings for cfm, cfml, cfc, cfr etc. and restarted the webserver
Removed the mappings, restarted, then readded
These are the mappings that were in the other 2 websites (I also incrementally increased the numbers to avoid duplicates):
    *.cfm, C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll, AboMapperCustom-27348
    *.cfml, C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll, AboMapperCustom-27349
    *.cfc, C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll, AboMapperCustom-27350
    *.cfr, C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll, AboMapperCustom-27351
    *.cfswf, C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll, AboMapperCustom-27352
Not sure what I am doing wrong and what worse - not sure where to find information to help troublshooting.
TIA to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Let me make some guesses: is this is 9.0.1 or above, on IIS 7 (not running in IIS 6 compatibility mode), and had you chosen to add “all sites” when installing CF or later running the web server config tool? If so, it used to be that in doing that, any newly added site would inherit CF settings, but with the above configuration you can no longer rely on that. Instead, you have to rerun the web server config tool to again add “all sites”.
This is indeed a radical change in behavior from prior release. It is in fact discussed in the installer (if you do “all sites” during installation), as well as in the CF Admin and Config manual, and in the online help for the CF admin. But there’s not too much talk about it, so people only trip over it when they move to IIS 7 (and 9.0.1 or above, which was the first release to formally support IIS 7 other than in IIS 6 compat mode.)
Let us know if that helps, or if, perhaps this is NOT the problem, in which case it could be any number of things. Even then, if you run the web server config tool and connect that site to CF (or again redo the “all sites” config), does it help?

  • Attempting to use HTTP probe

We're currently using the TCP probe for a load balanced app, however will need to change it to HTTP. The back-end servers are Window based and are running IIS. There's an app team, another team that supports IIS and another team that support the servers. Once we've configured the HTTP probe on the ACE, including the request method and the url, which of the above team would we need to reach out to coordinate the url path and the expected status code from the server?
    Thanks.
    _ Greg...

Thanks Kanwal. I was just curious which team would the load balancer team be typically dealing with as in my case, it has become a hot potatoe syndrom and none of the teams is willing to own up to this task and pointing fingers to the others. It would seem to me the app team be most likely the one as the server team be just supporting the servers and the IIS team be managing the IIS.
    Thanks again.

  • Connecting Crystal report with MySql

    Post Author: brajbhushan
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    hi all
i m trying to connect crystal reports XI Release 2 to MySql 5.0 using ODBC.Problem is that after connecting it successfully it shows only few fields of our table in database when i see it in Database Expert of Crystal Reports. The second problem is that the fields don't have any data with them. Can anyone guide me is there any problem with Crystal Reports while connecting to MySql. Is there any Compatibilty Problem of DataType in Crystal Reports while using MySql.
    Thanks

    Moved to .NET SDK forums
First issue is CR 10 has not been tested nor is it supported in VS 2010.
    To use CR in VS 2010 download [CR for VS 2010|Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 Production Release Now Available;
Likely what your problem is is you are not setting or replacing the database connection info but without more info I can't suggest how to fix it. It could also be that you have set your framework to 4.0, CR 10 is FW 1.1 or possibly 2.0 only.
Or you may even be trying to use the craxddrt.dll which is again no longer supported not are you licensed to use it or distribute it.
Also you'll likely run into version problems with IIS. I believe CR 10 only supported IIS 5 but check the platforms PDF for more info.
    Good luck.

  • Programmatically change Event Viewer properties in C#

    Hi there,
First of all, I am not sure if this is the right forum for this post (my guess is not). Someone please let me know what the right forums is if you see this is not and I will try to move it. thx.
IIS 7.5 supports IIS configuration auditing by setting a Event Viewer property:
    Event Viewer/Applications and
    Services Logs/Microsoft/Windows/Operational/Enable Log.
I tried it through Event Viewer and it worked great. But what I need is not to do that manually using Event Viewer.
Instead, I need to achieve that programmatically in C# through API - an API for programmatically setting  the above Event Viewer property (not IIS property) so that I can enable the logging .
    Is that possible?
    If so, how?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
