Arranging Apps using iTunes

Captain n00bcakes here,
I'm just wondering if there are any OCD minded individuals out there who are slightly upset with arranging 4 pages of Apps on the iPhone itself. It is incredibly time consuming and REALLY annoying. Does Apple have any plans of changing this in the next iTunes update? Is it actually possible to do and I just missed it?

nobody here knows. This is a user to user forum. you can leave feedback for apple.

I do it manually on the phone. Not that bad once you get it set.

  • How to organize iPad apps using iTunes

Hello ... this is a repost.
I saw a post by 'King Penguin' on another thread:
You can also do it via your computer's iTunes, by connecting and selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the right-hand side of iTunes on the Apps using the mini screen mockups to move your apps around the screens and into app folders.
So I've done this on more that one occasion - arranged the apps using iTunes, but when I sync the iPad, the apps on the device are still on the same place as they were before the sync.
I'm having a problem with my device that's preventing me from moving them around on the device. It seems to be 'dead' on a portion of the left side and as a result I'm unable to move the apps/folders from page to page.
I thought that arranging the apps using iTunes would be a good work around.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting the iTunes issues. I'll eventually take the iPad to have it serviced to check out the problem on the left side.
    Thanks in advance.

Really ... no traction on this? Come on guys, help me out here.
    Thanks.

    Regards,

I don't recommend you switch to manual management as it is more work for a worse outcome. Play counts and ratings will no longer sync in both directions for example, and should you need to restore the device you will need to work out what has to be synced to it again. The whole point is that if you are syncing the device with selected playlists all management of what does and does not go on to the device can be done in iTunes, whether the device is connected at the time or not. Edit the playlists that you sync to the device, connect it, sync, and you're done. Since you have no need to micro-manage the content directly on the device when it is in sync mode, iTunes doesn't let you.

  • Hi, is it possible to download apps using itunes because we dont have wifi connection, we only have internet service connected to PC. thanks

hi, is it possible to download apps using itunes because we dont have wifi connection, we only have an internet service connected to the PC.

There are some steps on this page for syncing a device (the page talks about iPhones, but it would work for iPads as well) to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.
When you connect an iPad to a computer's iTunes for the first time it might give you two options, to replace what is currently on the iPad with what is in that computer's iTunes library, or to set it up as a new device (i.e. remove all content from it) - hopefully the above page will get around that.
You should be able to use different computers to update the iOS version and to sync content (can you not use the same computer ?), but you will probably have to do the above for both.
If you don't currently have anything on the iPad that you don't mind losing (have you downloaded apps or other content when you've had access to wifi e.g. in shops, other people's homes ; or got any documents etc on it) then you don't need to go through the steps on that page.

  • I have an ipod touch and an hp computer. i was wondering how i can play apps using itunes on my computer

I need help as fast as possible! i downloaded an app from itunes off of my computer and i can only use it on my computer.
Does anyone know how i can use it on my computer? please help!:)

    Hi ~
You cannot do that. The apps are specially made for the apple products. If you want to have apps on your computer, find them online somewhere else, pay for them if needed, and use those. You cannot do what you are requesting to do.
    Hope I helped!

  • Can't update apps using itunes 11.03

    I updated to itunes 11.03.
They changed how you update apps.  Instead of clicking the app button on left and getting updates, there is a tab; but, when you hit update the update apps just sit there and won't go away.
    Anyone else have this problem.

I have the same problem with my iOS devices. When I sync to remove or update apps it get stuck on step 3 determining apps to sync and then nothing happens.
Before updating itunes, it was working fine.
I am now using iTunes 11.0.4.4 on a Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
Please help and make the necessary actions.

  • Cannot sync iPhone with new apps using iTunes

My question is I am unable to sync my applications or even music or videos using iTunes, I use different computers to sync my iPhone, and one in particular but that particular system too has greyed out everything on me in iTunes and doesn't allow me to sync either songs videos, photots or applications.... and gives me a warning that I will loose all the existing apps or songs on my iPhone and whatever songs, apps..are present in the iTunes library would be added to my iPhone.
I want to keep existing songs, apps.. and also the new apps and songs from this itunes can it be done.
    Thanks for helping

The iPhone can sync iTunes content (music, videos, apps, photos, etc.) from one computer only. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.

  • Unable to update or purchase apps using iTunes on Windows 7

When I try to update my apps, I get the following message:
The disk could not be read from or written to. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
My iTunes media folder is on a Netgear Stora NAS. I have been using this configuration for at least 2 years with no problem. When I try to download an app, a temporary Folder is created in the iTunes Media/Downloads folder but that's it. The download doesn't actually take place. I can update or download apps directly from my iphone or ipad.
I have tried all the recommended solutions I can find online. iTunes diagnostics does not detect any errors. I can write files to the NAS without a problem. I have deauthorized and reauthorized my computer. I have done a complete uninstall and then reinstall of itunes and associated Apple software. Nothing seems to work.
    Any ideas from anyone?
