Arrow Buttons Below YouTube Videos are Distorted

Below any video I watch on YouTube, the arrow next to the "Add To" button and the "Download" button (with the Easy YouTube Video Downloader add-on installed) are distorted. This doesn't happen in Chrome or IE9. This also happened in Firefox 4.0 so it isn't 5.0 specific.
It seems to only be my main computer, it doesn't happen on my notebook (Windows XP). So I am wondering what could it be about my computer that makes this happen. I have tried clearing the cache, using a clean profile and reinstalling Firefox and this has not helped in any way.

Solved this right after I posted the question, here's what I did:
Unchecked "Use hardware exceleration when available" in Firefox's advanced settings.

  • Youtube videos are not playing back

Youtube videos are not playing back in Safari 5.1.7. I've also checked this in Firefox 16.0.2.
    I am running OS 10.6.8.
Why is this happening? I need this capabilitiy for my work efforts.
    Thanks (in advance)!

I'm having similar problems to you all.  Chrome and Firefox will play YT videos back perfectly.  But for some reason certain users' entire channels that were working fine in Safari on Thhursday 1st Nov 2012 had stopped working by the next day!  After upgrading Flash and resetting the cache etc it was a bit better but still some not working.  I then downloaded the 6.0.2 update (again after a bit of aggro as some error message kept popping up, then after a while it worked ok).  Now still some videos refuse to play in Safari.  Latest FF browser seems OK and not too slow.  I have always liked Safari though and am a bit annoyed that I've had to to make FF my default as it's a bit ugly.  It may be a YT problem rather than Apple.  Once upon a time in the hazy crazy days of Tiger and Leopard I had no Apple problems.  Now lots of very minor but basic issues keep popping up!

  • Youtube videos are grey when Fullscreen and updating Real Player doesn't help

Youtube videos are grey just like you describe them in "Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox" but updating RealPlayer does nothing to help.

RealPlayer includes a Web Download & Recording feature that adds a Browser Record Plugin extension to Firefox. This causes problems with Flash content if Flash Player 11.3 is installed. If you don't use this feature, you can turn it off to avoid problems (see Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox). If you want to keep using this feature, another option is to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 11.3 and install an earlier Flash version as a temporary solution. See How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player? on the Adobe forum for detailed instructions and download links. (Adobe's uninstaller removes the Flash Player ActiveX for Internet Explorer as well as the Flash Player Plugin for Firefox and other browsers, so you will need to reinstall both.)

  • Videos are distorted

I just got my Premiere Elements and idk why my videos are distorted. When I watch them on Windows media player they aren't but when I add them to Premier Elements, they're all distorted... any solutions?

-My footage is from PC files and folders, they are AVI files. These are videos I shot with my 35mm digital camera with a movie mode.
-I use the default Project Setting in Adobe Premiere Elements 8, I have not changed any of the settings.
-My Graphics Card is "Plug & Play Monitor on RADEON x300SE 128MB Hypermemory (i don't know where to look for the video card make/model or the video driver number/date).
This is all really confusing, I hope this helps. (and thanks to everyone for your help so far)!
P.S. I used the trial version of Adobe Premier Elements before and it played my footage fine. I made sure to unistall it before I installed Adobe Premier Elelments 8

  • Youtube videos are not playing

I'm using Firefox 13.0.1 on a Macbook. Youtube videos are coming up black, and after an add plug in screen flashes, they're telling me that the video is not available. Above, Firefox is prompting me to download missing plug ins. When I click that, it says that no suitable plug ins can be found. What's wrong?

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

  • Youtube Videos are so slow...

I have an iMAC G5 Version OS X 10.4.11. I purchased it around 2004, I believe, when they first came out? It's been running pretty fast until recently. When I try to do simple things, like watch a "youtube" video, it's choppy and slow. Could this be an issue with my software or is it more likely my DSL speed? I tried that speedtest.net thing, but I can't upgrade to the Google Chrome it's suggesting, because I don't have OS X 10.5 or higher.
I'm not good with all the Mac Lingo, so I apologize if this sounds like a bunch of gibberish.. Just looking for someone to help me with my frustration Thank you/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic__ _/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png

You have not been hacked, but I know that is annoying!
Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
I haven't had the problem myself, but this post by ejp1684 seems to have offer a solution:
Once in the network prefs and the popup appears, place your mouse over the place where the "Show All" button is (behind the popup). Then, hit Return - which gets rid of the window and immediately the window is gone, click on the 'Show All" button. I then get a window asking me to save etc, the changes. You can click on any of them and you should be back in the prefs window. Then, when you select the Network prefs, you should be able to change things. If this doesn't work, I found that I had to use the mouse button to click on both the "OK" button on the popup, and then quickly switch to the "Show All" button - took me a few times to do it!
Even if you can't change the settings, at least you won't have to do a hard shutdown.

This post by MacStrong also provided a solution that worked for some:
If you recently updated or run a disk utility on your Mac this may have altered your sharing preferences. Go to System Prefs>Sharing Prefs and go to Network Time. If you have it checked, uncheck it and then recheck it. I just fixed a Mac by doing this. If it is not checked try checking and unchecking it.

This solution from Thomas Sattelman has been known to work on Intel macs:
I read somewhere that this message is due to the new way of saving the PPP connection password after the security update is applied. It will occur, only if you have one or more, saved network configurations that includes PPP connection setup.
This is how I got rid of the problem without deleting any of my network locations or any preference files:
    1. Log in using an admin account.
    2. Open the Security Preference Window
    3. Check "Require Password to unlock each secure system preference" to get temporarily rid of the annoying message (at the expense of typing in the admin password whenever settings are changed).
    4. Open the PPP network connection (Network Window)
    5. Uncheck "Save Password" in the PPP-Pane
    6. Type your password into the approriate field
    7. Recheck "Save Password" in the PPP-Pane
    8. Repeat this for all your PPP network connections
    9. Open the Security Preference Pane and uncheck "Require Password to unlock each secure system preference"

  • Firefox 11 freezes and is lagging after few minutes. Youtube Videos are laggy while the sound is normal. Can you help me to solve this problem?

If I restart my browser everthing works just fine for at least 5 minutes. When I watch several youtube videos, the lag comes back and the video starts to freeze aboud every second for just a faction of a second. The sound is stil played properly it only affects the graphics...
After about 10 minutes watching videos the whole browser gets laggy . Sometimes when I type the fonts appear only about a second later. Scrolling is also affected. Some minutes later everything is back to normal but it't not allways like that?!
I don't know what to do, I allready restarted with add-ons disabled but I didn't notice any difference. The drivers of my ati graphics card are up-to-date and I only have the problem with firefox, chrome works perfectly.
    Regards, Jan

  • YouTube videos are just... not good.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos.  I used to have really slow Internet, and we upgraded on July 23.  My speedtests went from 1.86 down, 0.3 up to 17 down, 1.5 up.  Everything else I do on the Internet has very much benefited from this upgrade, but YouTube hasn't, really.  For about two days, it was great.  I could watch a video in 1080p full screen and it wouldn't stop at all, whereas before I'd always had issues.  For some reason, Flash wouldn't buffer more than like 30-45 seconds ahead of where I was watching.  (This started around January or so.)  I had always paused videos at the beginning to let them buffer all the way through, but it got to the point where, for whatever reason, I couldn't do that.  I had to watch every. freaking. video in 30-45 second chunks, even on the lowest quality offered for that video.
Anyhow, so upon upgrading our Internet, it flew for about two days and then this problem came back.  It's not as bad as before - I can watch a video straight through in 480p or lower.  But I want HD!  If my Internet connection is 10 times as fast, this shouldn't be happening.  I should be able to watch a 1080p video full screen straight through like I was for those two days.
    Info:
I have the AT&T U-Verse 18 Mbps connection, and it speedtests at 17 Mbps down, 1.5 Mbps up.
I have a PC that I purchased last summer.  (HP Envy-14 Beats Edition, model 1260se)  It has 6GB ram, an i5 processor, and discrete graphics.  I use Firefox and Chrome.  Firefox is currently my primary browser, but I'm working on switching to Chrome because Chrome is soooo much faster.  (I have a lot of tabs that I keep open in each and I don't have time to switch them all.)
I also have a MacBook Pro that I purchased shortly after this summer's release of the new MacBook Pro (with the retina display.)  Mine is not the new one, though.  It has 8GB ram and an i5 processor.  I use Chrome exclusively on the Mac.
Both computers encounter this problem.  And no, I don't need to reboot, I turn off both computers at night.
I have checked Task Manager on my PC while this issue is happening in Firefox to see if something is weird with my computer, and everything matches the norms EXCEPT for the fact that the Flash plugin keeps consuming 10-15% of the CPU.  While that's not enough to significantly slow performance of the rest of my computer, I wonder if it has something to do with this problem.  Neither Firefox nor Flash are using more RAM than they should be.
Also, both before the Internet upgrade and now, every time the problem gets REALLY severe and Firefox stops responding, then if Firefox does start responding again I see a message that the Flash plugin has crashed.
I just upgraded my Flash player on my PC to 11.3.300.268 (and rebooted, though it didn't instruct me to) in order to see if that would help, but no such luck.  The upgrade changed nothing.
Also, I just noticed... when I right-clicked on the YouTube video I'm trying to watch on my PC (I'm typing this on my Mac) the final option in the menu still reads "About Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.265."  What's with that?  (Oh, and then right after I typed this, Flash decided to crash on me.  FUN.)
Considering the amount of time I spend on YouTube, I would really like for this issue to be resolved.  And to reiterate, I have fast Internet and two fast computers.  Everything else works wonderfully, but YouTube doesn't.

The change to YouTube's buffering policy was deliberate and done by Google/Youtube after extensive testing that showed them this provided a better experience for more customers.
Chrome comes with it's own version of Flash Player, that's why the version you installed (268) does not appear when you right click in Chrome.  If you tried the same thing with Safari or Firefox you'd see 268.
I'd recommend also posting this on the YouTube forums to see if they have any advice.

  • Speeding up youtube video sound distortion

when i go to speed up youtube videos cause i have so many subscriptions speeding them up saves time and most of them i can without losing anything but lately the sound at 2x gets choppy and above that is impossible to watch i know it seems an odd complaint it vastly slows down my youtube subscriptions

    operating system windows 8.1
    browers chrome 42.0.2311.90 m internet explorer 11.0.9600.17728
Adobe Flash Player (2 files) - Version: 17.0.0.169
    Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0
clicking on any video on youtube loads fine going to settings then speed normal speed works fine going up to 1.25 on chrome makes the audio crack every 10 seconds or so , going up to 1.5 the audio starts cracking badly and makes the video almost stop for 5-10 seonds and 2 makes it even more un-watchable, on internet explorer the sound distorts more and more but it doesnt stop running like on chrome but is inaudible 1.5 to 2 i disabled all extensions to chrome not sure if this would be a youtube issue or a flash issue but its not isolated to chrome, i updated windows today and even checked my sound settings to see if there is a change
