Arrowheads keep expanding on opening file in CS6?

I am working on flow diagrams with lines and arrowheads. When I reopen the file all of the arrow heads have expanded so that I have 3 points for the arrowheads.
Does anybody no how to stop this from happening?

I think I've just worked it out thanks...
I need to save it as a CS4 file, for a client, which is causing the problem. I will finish the job as a CS6 file then save it later as CS4.

You could use Bridge, or depending on your operating system, use one of the codec packs that let you view PSD thumbnails in Windows Explorer. (I don't know OSX)

Opening file in CS6 slow

I have noticed that some files open very slowly in Dreamweaver CS6 compared to CS5 or CS5.5.
One in particular took about 2 seconds to open in CS5 and about 60 seconds in CS6.
If I close and open the file again it opens quickly in CS6. If I close the program, start again and open the file it takes a long time again. This is a checked out file so the time to check out a file is not included.

I took off these external links an the file opened up right away.

Ical alarm keeps trying to open file from old location

I have an iCal alarm to open an accounts file each day.
I moved the file to another folder,
and selected the new location iniCal.
It always gives me this:
Could not open file because 'Old/Path/to/File' could not be found.
When I look at the alarm section in the iCal event, there is a list of files.
When I choose the file (with the same file name) in the NEW folder, this list of files doesnt seem to update.
Is there of forcing iCal to open my new file path?
or a way of taking the OLD file out of this list?

I just found how to removed the old files from my list
in the terminal I type:
open library/preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
and then delete the entries under PersistentMenu
Would still love to hear a more user friendly way to do this.
And a way to just get iCal to open the new file path, or how best to report this bug to apple

Opening files in CS6 Photoshop & images are blank

I just installed CS6 and tried opening CS5 psd files but they appear blank even though I can see the images in the layer thumb nails. Is there something that could be hiding the layers?
I meet thewindows system requirements but my memory usage is almost at 4GB just having photoshop open. What is causing this?

I have had exactly the same problem when I updated my photoshop to CS6. Disabling the processor enabled me to see the imported pictures that previously had only been visible as thumbnails in the layers.

Opening files in CS6 Bridge

When I try to open a file in photoshop from CS6 Bridge I get an error message: "Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe' Make sure you have typed the name correctly and then try again."
I just moved from CS5 to CS6 and do not have CS4 on my machine.

Did you uninstall CS6 beta before you installed CS6 final? If not uninstall now. You machine may be fairly well messed up by now.
If your only Adobe product is CS6 here is what I would do.
Save any files you might want from PS and Bridge then deactivate and uninstall PS.
Download and run the Adobe Script Cleaner, follow instructions.
Install CS6 and reactivate. If it asks for qualifiying s/n, use the CS5 #, no need to have it installed.

Can't open files in CS6 from LR4

I just migrated CS6 and LR4 to a new iMac. I then re-installed CS6 from disc because the licensing didn't come over. So far so good. But now in LR4, when enter CMD-E, or choose "open in CS6" from the Edit menu, nothing happens. The file does not open in CS6.
Not sure what I broke or how to fix it but I need it fixed ASAP.

Error message on opening files in CS6

When I try to open some Indesign files (CS 6 or older) in Indesign CS6 I get the message: Cannot handle the request because a modal dialog or alert is active? What does it mean and how can I open these files successfully?

There's a dialog off screen someplace waiting for you to respond. A rebbot might be in order if you can't find it.

Motion 3 Keeps Crashing When Opening File

Motion 3 keeps crashing when I try to open a file that has alot of moving text. I have words that keep falling like rain onto other words. Once in a blue moon I can get it to open and can edit it, but after I save it's a crap shoot to when it will open again. Any suggestions?
I have tried putting the text into another program (Adobe Illustrator) but it doesn't work as nice or as quickly. Thanks.

IMpossible to tell from here but try this:
If it gets opened, immediately save a copy. Quit Motion
In the Finder, make at least three or four more copies of the copy. Leave the original alone.
Open one of the copies, delete half of the layers.
Close it.
Open another copy. Delete the other half of the layers.
See where this is going? You're going to do some binary test to try to figure out which layers are making problems.

CS6 Won't open files - Program Error

I have the "Open in CS6" available in Bridge.   When I open a jpg from Bridge, same PS error. If I open a CR2 in ACR, ACR is fine, but when I tell it "open image" (in ACR), ACR closes, and nothing happens in Photoshop. No message. If I double-click a CR2 image from bridge, I get the PS error.

CS6 DW hanging when opening files - Windows 8.1 running MS Defender

When opening files in CS6 DW it sometimes hangs for up to 4 minutes before opening the files.
Also, CS6 DW and Fireworks crash frequently on my PC.
I'm running Windows 8.1, MS Defender and my PC is a Pentium i7 with 8GB of RAM
Any ideas what I can do to stop these things happening? It's really starting to impact on the productivity of my day.

You seem to be implying that when you switch off MS Defender, it works?
If not, we'll need a little more info.
Does the hang happen with all files in all sites, or just certain files?
If it happens with just certain files, could you please share the code to one of those files? A link to an online page would be best, but pasting the code into the forum can also help, just don't use email to send the code to the forum, that won't work.
Have you tried any of the standard troubleshooting steps as of yet (Deleting Program Cache, Restoring Preferences, Cleaner Tool Reinstall)?

Open File dialogs often empty in Mavericks

Since upgrading to Mavericks I've often had problems with the Open File dialog. Often when I select a folder in any Open File dialog in any application, no files show up. This is also true when for example I try and export a photo from iPhoto. The File dialog asking me to select the location to place the photo does not show the contents of existing folders. So once I select the computers hard drive, I can't select a folder or a folder inside a folder to place the photo.
Eventually if I cancel the operation and keep trying, the Open File dialog will work.
This is but one of the many slowdowns I'm experiencing with Mavericks. In general, this has not been a pleasant upgrade, and I have a MacBook pro which is only a year old. At times it seems as slow as a computer from the 1980s.

Working workaround:
Use the following statements in Terminal.
sudo vi /etc/auto_master
In this file comment out /net with # (#/net .....)
sudo automount -vc
Fixed.

Can't open files in Camera Raw while in Bridge CS6

Believe this issue/problem happened after automatic update from Adobe (but can't be sure).
Have always uploaded files from camera into Bridge then do some editing by opening JPEG and RAW (NEF) files in Camera Raw from Bridge.
Now, "Open in Camera Raw" is greyed out and I am unable to find a way to open files with Camera Raw from inside Bridge CS6. This seemed to happen suddenly and without any new software or applications being added to computer. All other apps/software working well.
Have tried various fixes found on Adobe community discussions without success. Problem now ongoing for over a week +.
Am able to open files in Photoshop with no problem but want to be able to do some quick edits using Camera Raw opening files from Bridge CS6.
I'm using Bridge CS6 Version 5.0.2.4. (as part of Adobe Creative Suite 6). Updater states I have most current version of Bridge installed.
I'm using an iMac computer with Intel Core i7 processor
OS X 10.8.5
Have found others with this same or very similar problems on forums but either can't understand patches/directions or unable to complete instructions on my computer.

Open the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS6/File Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: Navigate to the root Library folder on your hard disk, not the Library folder under your user folder.
Copy the Camera Raw.plugin from step 3 into the File Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: This new file overwrites the file already in this folder. It's important that only one Camera Raw.plugin file is in this folder.
Open Adobe Bridge.

However, when I try the above, I have these issues:
1. When I double click on the downloaded file, my computer opens PhotoShop and an error message is displayed that states "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." (I suspect this may mean my computer has automatically decompressed the file, but I am not certain of that).
2. Not completely certain I know how to "Navigate to the Macintosh HD folder" as suggested in step 4. above (OK, I'm new to Mac; long-time PC user….)
3. When I am in "Finder" and click on "GO" while holding down "Option" key, I find "Library". within that, I can find "Library/Application Support/Adobe" but there is no "Plug-Ins" folder within the "Adobe" subfolder.
4. Not sure how to tell if I am in the "root Library" on my hard disk vs. "Library under my user folder". (Again, new to Mac….)
I have NOT yet tried doing an "Uninstall" and then Re-installing the whole Adobe Creative Suite 6 and would like to avoid that if possible.
Would absolutely LOVE it if Adobe would simply push an update that would fix this problem or if someone would explain to me how I could restore the earlier version that worked perfectly for me.
Any help, suggestions (in very basic, simple terms that any idiot new to the world of Macintosh can understand) would be appreciated. Very frustrated with Adobe at the moment.
Mostly have liked the switch to Mac, but with this and my photo workflow coming to a screeching halt, having second thoughts. (But I suppose Adobe update for PC may cause problems as well.)

Literally minutes after I posted the above, I figured this out myself and now I'm a happy camper and things are back to normal!
Here was my error/issue: as a new Mac user, I was not negotiating/finding files on my hard drive correctly.
In case there are others out there with this same issue (and as dense as I apparently am ):
Here is what I did that resulted in a fix:
First Steps:
1. Quit/close Bridge
2. As noted in post above, go to this link to download Camera Raw Plugin file:

3. Once file has been downloaded, find it by using "Finder" Click on "Finder" and look on list of options on left side of Finder window to find "Downloads". On my computer, when clicking on "Finder" these options appear in the list at the left:
All My Files
Airdrop
Applications
Desktop
Documents
Downloads
Movies
Music
Pictures
4. Download you just did should be at or near the top of your downloads list and should be named as "Camera Raw.plugin" and will be 83.5 MB in size
5. I right-clicked (two fingers on touchpad) to bring up drop down options and selected "Copy 'Camera Raw.plugin'" from that list to copy file.
Now, you have copied the plug in that will fix this issue. The second set of steps below will walk you through how to replace the file that is on your hard drive with this plug in file that you have copied.
Second set of steps (and this is where, as a new Mac user, I was confused initially)
1. Again, click on "Finder" on your Mac
2. On top of screen, find "GO" and click on that. (You should see "Finder" in the upper right corner of your screen, then "File, Edit, View, GO, Window, Help" Click on the GO
3. In drop down menu that appears, click on "Computer"
4. Then, double click on "Macintosh HD" to open your hard drive
5. Next, double click on "Library" folder to open that.
6. Next, click on "Application Support" folder to open that.
7. Then, double click on "Adobe" folder to open that.
8. Then, double click on "Plug Ins" folder to open that
9. Now, double click on "CS6" to open that folder.
10. Finally, double click on the "File Formats" folder that appears.
11. NOW, you should see this:
12. Right click (two finger press if using a touch pad) to open window with options. Select "Paste Item" by clicking on that option.
13. You will be prompted with an option to keep existing file OR replace the file. Choose "Replace" to past the new "Camera Raw.plugin" file to this folder.
Finally, if you now go back and open Bridge CS6, you should be good to go.
Hope that helps someone out there.

can you open freehand files in CS6? I have been using both illustrator & freehand for 15 years & have thousands of work files being freehand.
It seems very disappointing to have to keep an old version of illustrator just to open these files. I also find it interesting that many of the key tools that freehand had over illustrator are not translated into the newer versions of illustrator. Something simple like you still can't have a unique picture bullet • before text in illustrator. In freehand you could cut & paste any graphic into the text you were designing.

No. The conversion plugin didn't make it into CS6 so the last import function was CS5.5

At this point, it is the only way to make your files convert into Illustrator although I've had some luck with exporting to EPS or (if your FH graphics are simple enough) save as AI format. Keep your eyes on this project however : http://www.stagestack.com/

As a fellow FreeHand user, I couldn't agree more. Other users of both programs have said this endlessly over the years here. A litany of features are still m.i.a. since FHMX was acquired years ago... including inline graphics. It's almost comical.
