But the real issue isn't the money. Read between the lines, and O'Shaughnessy is proclaiming that his company has the sacred right to enable and disable features in-driver even when the sound card's hardware is perfectly capable of performing the tasks at hand.
According to Creative's own FAQ, sound cards from the X-Fi and Audigy families are incapable of decoding Dolby Digital or DTS, due to the fact that "these functions are not supported at driver level in Windows Vista." That's sort of true, but when?two of the driver files?from a standard X-Fi card are replaced with two driver files drawn from a Dell-specific driver available at the company's support [url="http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R44728&for matcnt=&libid=0&fileid=9372">web site[/url], DTS and DD decoding immediately reappear as options and function correctly.

I spent a few weeks trying to troubleshoot popping and hissing issues with my X-Fi on my D975XBX board to no avail. I had purchaced an X-Fi for Vista support (I already have Audigy and Audigy 2s) but much to my surprise none of the features worked. I moved most of my audio and music editing back to my XP/Audigy2 machine. Gaming was horrid on the X-Fi so I enabled onboard sound.
Now I read that Creative's had features in the drivers all along, and that for whatever stupid reason, doesn't want to enable them?
WTF?
I shell out $200 for a card and find out later that half the features won't work, and then later discover that Creative's claims of how Vista broke most everything turns out to be lies. Wonderful.
Epic Fail, Creative.
Can't wait to find Daniel_K's drivers though. ?
<div align="center">Unfortunately most people missed the post that Creative put up saying that they would support some of his drivers.<div align="center">?<div align="center">THAT is why this has gotten out of hand.

  • Audigy 2 Value and Windows 7 64bit driver don't work

my first Audigy SE before Audigy 2 Value (SB0400) worked perfect on Windows 7 64bit
with Audigy 2 Value SB0400 i tried 3 drivers , including the beta from the creative support , original and daniel_k driver and after reboot the windows hangs at LOGO and stays there.

Re: SB Audigy 2 ZS and Windows 7 - Full Package driver?T While Creative has written new drivers and some applications for Windows 7/Vista for the Audigy, they have not re-written or updated all of the original applications on the CD. This card is very old now. What Daniel K. did was take all of the applications or most of them, and tweaked them to properly install and include themselves in the registry on operating systems other than Windows XP. For the full and most recent package, check here:
    http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-...009/td-p/53838
If the application you want is not included in his package, then you can try downloading the official Creative version and install it on your system in "compatibility mode" by right clicking the file, and choosing properties, and then the compatibility tab and choosing "Windows XP service pack 2 or 3" and it may or may not function.

  • Creative/Auzentech driver software won't recognize soundcard

Windows 10 9926 (Upgrade from previous public beta, not fresh install)
The soundcard software refuses to detect a valid Auzentech soundcard installed in my machine and thus refuses to operate/open. The drivers are installed without issue and work fine. I have tried the following to resolve the issue:
    1) Repair the software/driver installation. This process involves running the programs installer and choosing the "repair" option. This process involves a reboot after the repair is complete.
    2) Uninstall the drivers & software and reinstall it. This process involves a reboot after uninstalling but before re-installing.
    3) Uninstall the drivers & software via Device Manager, reboot the PC and then install the drivers.
The driver software (Console Launcher) continues to refuse to operate because it can't detect a valid Auzentech soundcard even though the drivers install without issue. It was working fine before the upgrade to the January build of Windows 10.

Figured it out, neither the official drivers nor the drivers provided by Youpax will properly work. You need to use the drivers provided by Daniel_k instead.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Microphone Probs

Hello, I have had a frustrating time getting my microphone to work consistently using this card and Windows 7 x64. Here is what is happening:
Usually when I first boot up, my microphone will not work with Ventrilo or Windows Sound Recorder (no bars in the recording meter). If I enable Line in playback I can hear myself crystal clear all of the time so this is a good control. The mic is working, but the input isn't being passed onto programs. If I open/close ventrilo maybe 20-30 times I will be able to get the microphone to work. Usually it first starts out choppy after about 5 ventrilo open/closes and then it is finally sounds good. When I first get started trying to get the microphone to work, I won't see the green bars light up in the equalizer for the mic recording device. But once it gets started, I see the lights working. I DON'T CHANGE ANY SETTINGS BETWEEN WHEN THE MIC WORKS AND DOESN'T WORK. It just starts to work. My friend says getting my mic to work is like starting up an old Model A. You have to crank on it a while.
Drivers I have tried but all behave the same:
Default Windows 7 creative Audigy 2 drivers
    Updated Audigy 2 drivers (July 2009 ) 2_8_00
    Daniel K Drivers (3.6)
In Windows recording devices Mic I have tried the following:
Turning On/Off "allow programs to take exclusi've control of the device"
    Different bit rates
    Disabling the other recording devices
    In Ventrilo I have tried:
Direct Sound on/off (makes no difference), works/doesn't work both ways
Hardware Mixer NONE/Line, makes no difference.
Currently have all input devices disabled except the two below.

    - Tested the Daniel_k driver set. Those really didn't work unfortunately but I appreciate the effort anyone puts into releasing a third party driver set.
Also, I noticed there were more sound devices showing up in safe mode. Are those only loaded in safe mode? Specifically "Microsoft Approved Audio Drivers".
Is there a possibility of conflict?

  • Problem with the right and left Channel

    Hey Guys,
i bought a few days ago the X-Fi Titanium PCIe Card. Now my problem:?
After i installed the drivers i noticed that i can hear the sounds of the left speaker also in the right speaker of my Headphone (Sennheiser PC60). I made a channel test and here the same. The guy sais "Left Channel" and i hear it on both speakers. The same with the right channel.
I made a clean restart and uninstalled all Drivers and Applications and reinstalled them: -> Same problem
I made a clean Windows installation (Vista x64): -> Same problem
    i tried the Daniel_K-Driver: -> Same problem
Have someone an idea to solve that problem?
    greets

When Soundbooth was first developed, it had a few extra things than what were not available in Audition. However, Audition remained the more high end sound editing tool. Soundbooth was locked to a multiple channel editing approach. In Audition, single editing is easy - you simply click the L or R at the right end of the sound channel to lock it and then you can edit the other channel only.
Soundbooth has been discontinued and Audition now has taken its place from CS6 to the Creative Cloud.
The above is some background info. To your current situation, you can use a workaround like:
    * Export your audio file to separate channels by File > Export > Channels to mono files.
You will get 2 files with _L and _R suffix.
You can then edit them separately. You can go from Mono to Stereo by the following step.
    Or
    * Choose - Edit > Insert > Channels  into New Multitrack file.
That will separate the Left and Right Channels and add them to a new multitrack file.
You can then click the Edit link at the top right of the channel to edit it.
You can then save that file as a new audio file.

  • 5.1/7.1, bass

    Hy there.
I have Audigy SE sound card, using Daniel_k driver, and logitech x-530. Windows XP.
At first I couldn't find option to increase the bass volume, but I downloaded daniel_k driver and I managed to enable bass boost in drivers.
Problem is, that my speaker configuration works great on HEADPHONES, 2/2. and 4/4. mode.
But when i put it on 5., it seems like bass is somehow low again.
I enabled bass redirection in 5. bass settings but it didn't changed it - at least I can't hear some improvement.
How can I get the bass to be normal again?
Also, I planned to buy 5./7. headset but I am asking myself will 5./7. work with HEADPHONES configuration, and not 5./7.(because of bad bass, ofc.) Would it work on 7. channel with headphones configuration?
That headset only has one jack for sound, if it's importmant..,
    Tnx...
And yeah, how to enable bass/treble option like on this picture?
    http://www.ask.asia.creative.com/wwimages/audio_int/xfi/xfi_cmss_entertainment2.JPG

I guess it is normal, because daniel_k drivers for our cards are different than for some other Audigy cards.Just look here

Audigy SE/LS/value and li've! 24-bit cards have other version of daniel_k driver

  • To daniel_k, or any driver co

I own a sound blaster li've 5. card, i like it and i don't want to buy a new one, recently i had a amp accident and I ruined the green jack, it no longer gives any output. I can still use the card while in 4 speaker mode, plugging in my speakers instead of green into back. I cant find a way to swap black and green from the software like in realtek cards. How can i edit the drivers so black becomes the standard output for 2 speaker mode ? are there already edited drivers for such things? thx a lot, Adi

    Get:?
    Audigy = EMU
    X-FI = EMU
There is no point using the SBli've!. Its an old card, and even the old Audigy is an huge advantage in sound quality and functionality against the SBLi've. The SBli've is only theoretically able to do EAX in Hardware only. Practically it doesnt have the horsepower to do this task without CPU. Only 32 Channels and it sounds like a waterfall. if you want MIDI get a SB AWE32 + 32MByte + Unison Soundfont?and use the SPDIF Output. Sounds better than the Li've! ANd even this is not needed with real AUdigy/ X_FI cards.
    Do not buy:
    AUDIGY 2 SE = XYZ
    XFI EXTREME AUDIO = XYZ
    SBLi've! 24

  • I've read similar questions and answers, but I am still terrified to upgrade from leopard to snow leopard. The only reason I want to is because I received an iPad which requires an updated system. I have an external hard drive. I have the disks to upgrade

I've read similar questions and have studied the answers, but I am still terrified to upgrade from leopard to snow leopard on my macbook pro. The only reason for doing it is in order to sync my macbook pro with my iPad. I do have an external drive which automatically backs up every hour. BUT.......I am techno-ignorant as well as techno-paranoid. I have the disks to update to snow leopard but knowing doing so may likely change/alter/lose/obliterate my current set-up, it actually makes me feel sick to think of it.
Years ago when updating via Apple Protection Plan tech support, my screen actually went blank, everything gone! The tech told me not to worry, that "we" would be able to restore things, but several hours later I was still looking at a primitive looking screen that wasn't anything like what I had before. His language was too technical, in that there was an assumption I understood things I had zero understanding of. Example: partition my external drive.
Anyway, living hundreds of miles from an Apple service provider, and no Apple techs in my community, I had to wait for a trip to an Apple Store where one of the wonderful guys at the genius bar spent a ton of time getting things back to normal and actually explaining it enough that I had a vague understanding.
So now I am in the predicament again and won't know what to do after installing the new disks and finding a likely mess or absence of documents etc. on my computer. I don't know how to access the external drive, and even if I did I wouldn't know how to move stuff from that to my computer.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat as you, I've used Mac's since day one and neglected my Windows education and now it has come to haunt me as I have to learn it like a school kid.
Nearly 99% of all businesses and nearly 95% of everyone use Windows, Steve Jobs declared "The desktop wars are over, Microsoft won" a long time ago.
By 2015 tablets are going to be selling to consumers more than traditional computers, your living proof, you got a iPad.
Apple has already discontinued the Xserver, the Xraid, the MacBooks and the 17" Macbook Pro.
Apple has introduced BootCamp in OS X 10.6 and up, this allows a partition and drivers so one can install Windows on a Mac.
    https://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Why do you think they named it "BootCamp"
You can't run a older OS X version longterm like you have with 10.5 anymore, Mac's are being targeted for attacks and older OS X versions are dropped for security updates.
In fact your Mac might still be part of the 750,000 Mac strong Flashback botnet or infected.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trojan_BackDoor.Flashback
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/04/how-to-check-forand-get-rid-ofa-mac-flashba ck-infection/
See here, Apple has no security updates for 10.5 users and soon 10.6 is going to be ignored next.
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht1222
1-1.5 years is the OS X upgrade cycle. Change everytime like it or not.
So I'm thinking about your long term future and how you obviously don't like change, need local assistance like it appears you first claimed.
So buy a new Mac and upgrade your OS X version whenever Apple shows it in AppStore.
When your machine can no longer upgrade to the newest OS X version, then you've got about another 2 more years of security updates before you have to buy a new machine or risk running a insecure one.
Learn here how to go about fixing your own machine and creating backups/bootable clones this way your not having to drive several hundred miles for a software or boot drive repair. Simply reverse clone your troubles away.

I'm of the maturity and experience that I know a Mac isn't always the best solution for everyone and even Apple doesn't provide the proper hardware, support or features for everyone. Why only store locations in high traffic ritzy areas?
Our SteveJobs fan here is under 18 years old with good eyes, he's not older like we are with bad or failing eyesight.
The new Mac's  have hard to see glossy screens and the type/UI can't be scaled up easily to accomadate our older eyes, however a Windows 7 machine does allow up to 150% scale of the UI, type etc., and also there are anti-glare screen PC's and just about no more anti-glare screen Mac's.
I wrote this User tip in case you have trouble seeing the screen, at least you can scale the web browsing up
Web browsing for hard of seeing users
Apple might still be selling the anti-glare 15" non-retina on their online store, it's the "high resolution/anti-glare model"
But I can get a 17" 1080i HD anti-glare Windows 7 laptop at Sager for a lot more performance and screen size for the price than a Mac.
    https://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=category_browse&selected_cat=2
Screen size is important as the UI and text can be scaled up for easier reading.
Of course you do now have the option of having Windows pre-installed alongside OS X to begin your transition to the dark side.
Just call and they will accomondate, hold the option/alt key at boot time to swtich operating systems.
    http://www.macmall.com/
Windows 7 looks just as good as OS X, the secret is having a good monitor with most PC's come with don't.
Good Luck and I hope I've given you a lot to think about.

  • Why does my Western Digital drive freeze my OSX

    Hey all!
    I'm in a bad spot.
Yesterday I was going through files on my 6TB western digital my book hard drive connected to my old iMac running snow leopard. I had been playing many different movie files from my camera in quick time player to categorize them during a couple of days and everything had been fine. But all of a sudden quick time froze and wouldn't answer so I had to force quit it and then I tried again, then the same thing happened and then Finder and everything froze and I had to force shut off the computer by holding down the power button. Then the same thing happened after I restarted the computer. After each time I have to force off the computer the WD hard drive still has its light on and keep sounding like it's working hard and I have to pull the power plug from it to make it stop.
Then I started it again to try to just copy files from it but the drive would freeze OSX again. So I connected it to my old macbook pro and the same thing happened but then I tried to connect it with usb instead of fire wire and it seemed to act normal. Then I replaced the firewire and tested and it seemed to work fine on both computers. So I assumed it was the firewire cable that was causing problems. Since I was a bit shaken I started to do backups of everything from the hard drive and copied a folder of 323 GB during the night. In the morning it had copied everything but 10 GB and had frozen again. So again I connected both to the Macbook Pro and copied over what was missing. Then I tried to copy another folder but it froze again.
It behaves very irrational in my eyes and I wonder what is wrong and what to do?
When I start the computer without that drive, it acts normally and the same goes for when I connect another external hard drive.
Did a control with disk utility on both the internal and the external drives, and it said they are fine.
I didn't notice that the hard drive was standing in the sun which was shining through the window behind my iMac and the room was quite warm. Can that be what started all this?
Also I noticed that the folder that I did a backup of, shows different content size on the Macbook pro and on the iMac. And this goes for both the original folder and the backup on the other external drive. Finder says both folders are 301 GB on the Macbook and 323 on the iMac. This freaks me out since this is a very important folder and I can't loose 22 GB. Anyone who knows why this can be?
I would be extremely grateful for any thoughts on this!
    Thanks

Thanks a lot rccharles, I'm gonna try this.
When data rescue (data recovery software) makes a clone of the problem disk, does it use the disk in another way than when it does normal data recovery? When I try to do data recovery it freezes after maybe 20 minutes just as when I just copy files in Finder, is it different when making a clone?
I don't know how Data Rescue works (it's proprietary software).
It does sound like your disk could be physically damaged (you still need to try an external case) - if you continue to try to repair you may lose even more data until the disk is totally unreadable. Imagine a spec of dust scratching across your data - the act of trying to read & re-read can cause more damage. As more pieces of disk get scratched off the platters the entire inside of the mechanism gets covered in dust, resulting in more scratches, more data loss…
Seriously, the best option you have is to take it to data recovery professionals for them to look at it. They may be able to open it & replace failed parts or take a copy with a limited amount of corrupted files. Some indications may be the sound the disk makes when it 'freezes' - but that is only a guide for professional ears.
Recovery software can try to re-read data when disks encounter errors. Some smart recovery software will force the disk to avoid retrying these - that skips over the damage - the files in the damaged area will be unusable but the surrounding data may still be recoverable. Professionals may take one copy & avoid using the disk until they have diagnosed how it failed - limiting the potential for more damage.
ddrescue is one command line tool that will clone without retrying to re-read, but that is complex to use.
    http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html
Here are examples from an old disk that ground up itself…
    http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=107678
Your issue probably is not be the same as that example, I'm not trying to scare you but you should consider how important this data is, repeated recovery attempts can make that impossible even for professionals.

  • Protected WMA music and Daniel K Driver

I have been using Daniel K. drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS, X-FI Fatality and even my Audigy LS Windows XP and Vista. These drivers have exceeded my expectations their performance as always. Here is my issue that I have solved and I hope it helps others.
First, I bought nearly 00 .wma songs purchased from MSN Music in the last four years. I have played those songs through many formats, dri've partitionings, operating system changes, etc. I have went from XP, to Vista and now to Windows 7. Originally I used the Audigy LS with standard drivers from Creative and everything played fine. ? After formatting I would have to reauthorize my computer to play the songs, othewise I would get an error. Once the machine was authorized the songs would play fine. Now I use an Audigy 2 ZS, and the card worked well with XP and I authorized songs the same way to continue playing them. Using Vista though, I started using Daniel K.'s drivers for my system. The songs would no longer play, and I could not figure out why.
MSN tech support is awful and they gave me about fifteen knowledge base articles and finally said, "We will refund you for the songs you have bought. We have no solution for you."? Well I am glad they game me back money, but I still believe the songs could be played. After reading many many websites Here is what I have found:
These are the errors I received in XP and Vista:
error C00DB?C00D759: The policies that the Input Trust Authority requires to be
enforced are unsupported by the outputs.
And here is a compilation of the solution I found:
This is quoted to reflect the words of the original author ?
" The crux of the problem is that in my computer the DRM subsystem does not
trust the audio devices so it refuses to play protected content. It took me
a while to find the origin of the mistrust. In first place my sound drivers
were signed by microsoft nonetheless! so that should take care of that issue
    no?
Wrong, it turns out that most important than having signed drivers is to
have the Operating System actually enforcing that! If the OS does not force
the audio drivers to be signed the DRM system will not play protected music
(even though your drivers are signed).
So lo and behold, my windows vista was shipped from the factory with the
signing checking disable. I guess that the reason is that most of the drivers
out there are still unsigned (because of the recent release) so the OEMs
prefer to disable the checking to make sure that a lot of old hardware still
    works.
The registry entry that controls wheter or not windows vista enforces signed
audio drivers is in the following path (use regedit to examine/change it).
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Audio
    And the entry is called
DisableProtectedAudioDG? (((<---------The key may be somwhere else in the registry, just search for DisableProtectedAudioDG---->))))))
When it is set to , the system does not check for signed drivers and the
    protected content refuses to play.
So I only changed the value to 0, and restarted windows, now Vista does
enforce the protected audio and my protected music plays !!! (my normal music
    also plays).
Be careful though, if your audio drivers are not signed, then, changing this
value to 0 will probably disable your music playback (not 00%).
So if your problem is that you don't get music at all, then try setting that
to , but if your problem is like mine (no protected music and you do have
signed drivers) then set the value to 0.
I hope this information is useful to any of you."
    Cheers mates,
    jmacguire

    + Hi,
I've also used some of daniel_k's driver pack. For the DisableProtectedAudioDG entry that you mentioned, I've found that it is added in driver pack where he did some modification to the original driver. My guess is the modification made the driver unsigned and so this entry is required (daniel, please correct me if I wrong)

  • Fusion Drive and sleepimage

    Hello,
if you buy a new Mac with a Fusion Drive, where does OS X put the sleep image? On the SSD or the HD?
By "sleep image", I mean the file that holds the RAM while the Mac is in hibernation mode. It normally resides in /private/var/vm and is named "sleepimage".
    Markus

I would guess the SSD, if only because it will allow the Mac to go to sleep faster.
Also the few articles I've seen about Fusion is that all writes go first to the SSD, then some time later Mac OS X may decide to migrate the data to the HDD.  But since the Mac is now a sleep, there is no later.  And if the Mac needs to use the Sleep image when it is woken up, the Mac would recover faster if the SleepImage was on the SSD.
All of the above is total speculation.  I do not have a Fusion Drive, and I have not read anything about where the SleepImage is stored when you have a Fusion Drive.
ArsTechnica.com has a very good article about the Fusion Drive.

  • I can no longer share because I do not have iCloud Drive or Yosemite????

I do not use iOS, I use Android, though I am a Mac and iCloud user. I have several Numbers spreadsheets that I share with other people that without warning no longer share!!!! I am told I need to upgrade to iCloud Drive on my iOS device, which I do not have one. I am told I need to upgrade to Yosemite to continue sharing my files and unless I am mistaken, Yosemite is not available!!!!!! And, I can no longer log into iCloud to even see my files because I have not upgrade to iCloud drive on my non-existant iOS device or through Yosemite which is not available!!!
    Am I missing something here????

You (Windows user) may be in luck if you want to switch to iCloud Drive.
According to the specs, it is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8. I don't know about sharing, though.
    See the Ars Technica article.

  • Zero Out Data on a SSD drive: Are my findings correct?

"Note: With OS X Lion and an SSD drive, Secure Erase and Erasing Free Space are not available in Disk Utility. These options are not needed for an SSD drive because a standard erase makes it difficult to recover data from an SSD. For more security, consider turning on FileVault 2 encryption when you start using the SSD drive."
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3680
Seems to hard to believe, as I've seen some of the top participants here clearly say that first your set a new partition, then erase Macintosh HD, then zero out data?

Retired Engineer, do you have any references?  What I have read says otherwise.
    Drive Wear & Tear
What is your estimation of wear and tear on the flash by writing to 0's.  What percentage of the drives total usage has been "wasted"?  I thought even consumer drives where capable of 1000 - 10000 rewrites per cell, whereas enterprise SSDs are capable of over 100,000: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9112065/Solid_state_disk_lackluster_for_l aptops_PCs?taxonomyId=19&pageNumber=1&taxonomyName=Storage.
"For one thing, it matters whether the SSD drive uses SLC or MLC memory. SLC generally endures up to 100,000 write cycles or writes per cell, while MLC can endure anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 writes before it begins to fail, according to Fujitsu's Hagberg. For its part, Western Digital's laptop hard-disk drive boasts up to 600,000 write cycles."
That's an old artcile too.  Slightly newer, in late 2008 Micron/Sun achieved SLC NAND chips capable of over 1,000,000 write cycles: http://investors.micron.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=440650 .  I imagine things have gotten slightly better in the last 4 years.
    Data Wiping
This paper (http://static.usenix.org/events/fast11/tech/full_papers/Wei.pdf) states, "In most cases, overwriting the entire disk twice was sufficient to sanitize the disk, regardless of the previous state of the drive."
Going on however, "Overall, the results for overwriting are poor: while overwriting appears to be effective in some cases across a wide range of drives, it is clearly not universally reliable. It seems unlikely that an individual or organization expending the effort to sanitize a device would be satisfied with this level of performance."
The best method I have found for wiping an SSD on a Mac is the (SAFE) Scramble and Finally Erase process as described in this UC San Diego research paper: http://cseweb.ucsd.edu/users/swanson/papers/TR-cs2011-0963-Safe.pdf.
According to their paper, the effectiveness of the procedure is equiavlent to degaussing a magentic drive. Another tidbit, the SAFE technique is replicated by Sandforce controller when someone reformats the drive (as mentioned by Linc Davis above, however, I believe this is specific only to Sandforce controllers).

  • Windows 7 - 64 Bit Driver Needed For Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Model SB0100

    I am having trouble finding a working driver for Windows 7 - 64 Bit for a Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Audo Card Model# SB000
I downloaded driver file SBL_PC64DRVBETA_LB_2_03_0005.exe which I think is a 64 Bit Sound Blaster Li've! update, but Windows 7 does not allow it to be installed because it is not a digitally signed driver. It also seems Creative is no longer supporting these old cards with new driver updates.
I love the card though. I have bought more recent sound cards and the sound of this card is still much better than the more recent sound cards I have bought. So I would like to keep using it if possible.
    Are there any driver solutions?

I recently answered about the same question:
If you?use Vista or Windows7, then there is no official driver. You can only use alternati've drivers like Vista Support Pack by Daniel_K or the one from KXProject (better). But if you have more than 2 gigs of memory installed or an x64 OS, then both drivers will be half-working (as far as I remember, Daniel's driver won't work with more than 2 Gb of memory installed in any OS, and with KX-driver there will only be a problem with MIDI playback with more than 2 Gb AND x64 Win7).
