Art - single clicking a song and art displays

Does anybody know how to tweek the settings in iTunes to where you can click on any song in your library and the art pops up (vs. double-clicking and the song starts)?
I've seen this done before, just not sure if maybe it was an older version of iTunes, and maybe the disabled it or something.

Right above the artwork (lower, left in iTunes), click the text where is says, "Now playing". It will change to, "Selected song".
Now the artwork will change when you simply select a song without haviong to play it.

Song and Artist display differently in landscape mode (iPod on iPhone)

I have a CD Compilation *50 Best Songs Ever*. When I play any song from this Compilation on my iPhone, if I turn the phone to landscape mode the Artist defaults back to the Artist on the 1st track, but if I turn the phone back to upright mode the Artist shows correctly.
This is a CD Compilation of various artists, and the only one it seems to happen to.
Any thoughts?

No, the OP is correct, there is some sort of funky bug here. I have noticed it too. To the extent that it is almost comical. In portrait view the song/artist/album artist/album art are all correct; then switch to landscape view and you get a comical mix of songs from different artists, wrong album art (from first one in list) and the name of the song and artist are wrong, and inconsistent with what is playing. Rotate back to portrait view and all is good again.
It is at best a minor inconvenience, and I love my shuffle anyhow, so the randomness of it is sort of fun/funny.
But it is definitely a bug.

Double click LP song, and it opens Logic Express

I just upgraded from Logic Express to Logic Pro. I have not deleted LE from the computer, coz I am doing live music on the road, and if I lose my XSKey, I want to use LE as a backup. However, when I quit Pro after saving a song, then double click the song, it starts up LE again. Do I have to delete LE to have LP open by doubleclicking a song? I know I can drag the song to LP, but I hate "workarounds."

I ended up having to do it in the Get Info window, because the right click did not have an "always" option, but opened up the file immediately in Pro. I clicked the Change All... button answering the "Use this application to open all documents like this."

On all my other apps and browsers, I have my system set up to open things with a doubleclick. In Firefox, however, a single click opens things, and it's very annoying since I wind up with duplicate pages -- where can I change this option to double-click?

I think my question explains my issue, but I particularly have this issue on www.pogo.com when I try to open a game room. The system tells me someone else with my user name is trying to enter the room at the same time, so it boots us both out. I have contacted Pogo, and they tell me it's a Firefox issue. There must be an option somewhere, like a OS has, to pick between single and double clicks to open an app, but I can't find it in Firefox. My mouse is set in XP for double-click.

Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

How do you add artwork in itunes 11.0.4.4?It was easy on previous versions by either drop and drag or right clicking the song and pasting the artwork in the box...Is there an easy solution?

I recentlydownloaded Itunes version 11.0.4.4 and am having difficulty adding artwork to any new folders of music i add to my ipod classic.In prior versions you could either drop and drag or right click on the song,go to "get info" and paste and image into the artwork tab.Can't do either of these now.How do you add artwork in the latest version of Itunes?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem and i came up with a very simple solution that worked for me.
Step 1 Look for the folder where your mp3 is stored. (example My Music Folder)
Step 2 Right Click on the music file and select properties
Step 3 On the General tab UNCHECK read only and click OK or Apply
Step 4 Go to itunes and rightclick the music title
Step 5 Select Get info and paste or drag your Album artwork at the Artwork Tab.

Song and Podcast Display

I want podcasts to appear in the 'podcast' menu on the ipod. when itunes updates the ipod, the podcasts appear in the 'podcast' menu but also appear in the 'songs' menu, i.e., it lists podcasts as songs. does anyone know how to get the ipod (or itunes) to put podcasts in the 'podcast' menu and leave them out of the song list? thanks!!!

I was mistaken. I thought the software update got the podcasts out of songs too (it removed the Video Podcasts, TV Shows and Movies from "Songs"). All audio content still shows up under songs (I just checked on my iPod).

I click one song and another one plays

Most of my songs have suddenly decided to play a different song that what I choose. For example, I tried to play Barefoot Blue Jean Night and Evacuate the Dancefloor started playing instead. The title stayed as Barefoot Blue Jean Night but the album cover and other song info was for Evacuate the Dancefloor. I've synced, updated, backed up, and everything else I can think of, and instead of improving the problem, more songs get messed up. -_- Can someone pleeease tell me how to fix this??

There is a setting called Repeat. It is on the iPod's Settings screen. If it is set to One, it will repeat the current song. Set it to Off (no repeat) or All (repeat playlist).

ITunes remote clears playlist on single click

I would like to know if anyone else is annoyed by this, or possibly even has a fix. So you have a playlist that a group of people made in iTunes through the iOS remote app, it seems when you single click a song while selecting something it clears the playlist but you just spent all that time creating it. Is it possible to make it edit proof like say you have to enter your four digit code to override the playlist? It doesn't seem like too much to ask, but it is really annoying when you have to go and create a playlist all over again.

I commented on this in an earlier post to you, but it was burried.
I think what the problem is, is that you're publishing the playlist, but not the files that the students created.
The files need to be loaded into iWeb, not just the playlist that you drag over from itunes. Otherwise you're just publishing a hyperlink, or maybe just text.
The actual files need to be uploaded to a server. Either .Mac using iWeb, or another server. Either way, they have to be up on a server.
Your itunes playlist points to the files on your local computer, which iWeb can't point to for people on the web to access.

HT2905 Deleting songs, duplicate songs, and renaming songs

On my iTunes I am unable to delete any songs from my iPhone, nor am I able to select the 'Display Duplicates' or Delete them either. I can't even rename a song!
Things I have tried for deleting songs:
Shift+CTRL+Delete
Delete button
Looking under settings on both my iPhone and iTunes for an option to enable the above problems in the opening
I have deleted the songs in both the downloads folder that my songs go to, and from the iTunes music (This deleted the songs from that but not my actual iPhone music).
Right Clicking the song and looking for delete option (no such option exists under the 'Devices' portion of iTunes)
Things I have tried for duplicate songs:

If your iPhone syncs with iTunes you need to tidy up in iTunes, then sync, not try to edit the content of the iPhone manually within iTunes.
I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this thread for background.
If the device has duplicates, but iTunes doesn't, then you can swipe and delete all duplicated items directly on the iPhone, then sync with iTunes to put the songs back onto the device. One of the iTunes build seem to have the potential to leave orphaned tracks on the device which are then not cleared up by further syncing.

Creative vision M - duplicate songs and s

I got the Vision M 30 gig for Christmas and so far its been pretty awesome..it works, transfers well, the media source program works, ripping was easy and went well. My problem is i have some songs that have the same name..but are from different bands. When i tried to transfer from my PC library to my Vision M...it wouldnt transfer both songs because they have the same name.. it would leave me with the screen

O Replace this file
O Replace all duplicate files
I would just like it to transfer all my songs regardless if they are "duplicates"
Oh..i've also tried renaming the songs..such as "Elegy" and "Elegy2" still wont work.

i went into my docs, my music and clicked "rename file"...i renamed the files that were named the same. The names didnt change on media source, which i thought was good, because i was changing the file name not the name. I went and selected all tracks..pushed the button --> from my library to the vision M and when it came to the same named tracks it brought up that same option "replace, skip" yadda yadda...so that didnt work. I right clicked the song and went to properties and it says the name is "forever.mp3" which is the same as another song...but i changed the name in my documents but it must not have in the media source. There is no way to in the media source either..or at least not that i found. Ugh...pain in the butt. Thanks for the help...any other suggestions?

SetRowSelectionInterval() not working on single-click in JTable

I have code that tries to move the highlighted row in a JTable back to the line you just edited instead of moving to the next line when you press enter after editing a cell (like you would normally see in a JTable or any spreadsheet program). If you double-click in the cell and edit the name, the code works correctly, but if you only single click the cell and enter the name, the code doesn't move the highlight - even though I know the code is being executed.
The code is nothing more than:
if(row == 0)
setRowSelectionInterval(0,0);
else
setRowSelectionInterval(row-1,row);
with row being the row you want to set the highlight to.
Does anyone know why this would work for a double-click edit of a JTable but not a single-click?

I use the Logitech Control Center software that shipped with the mouse, though I actually downloaded the latest version from the Logitech Web site — vs. using the version that came on the included CD — to be sure I had the latest version.
The version I am using is for PPC. I don't believe they've released a Universal Binary yet for Intel-based Macs: I did not see anything to this effect on their Web site when I checked today. You could contact Logitech about the availability of a Universal Binary. I suspect one may be forthcoming: many vendors have to address the move to Intel-based Macs.

Play one song and stops

I've had i-tunes for awhile and never had any problems.I listen to i-tunes on mydesktop at work. Yesterday I cleaned up my library (got rid of songs I did not want) now all of a sudden I play one song and thats it. I have to go back to the library and click on the next song. Any suggestions?

I figured it out! each song has to have a check mark in front of it. Some how when I was editing things the song were all unchecked. Hold the 'CTRL" key and click one song and all the songs are automatically checked.

Sorry for not getting back with you...
That moves only the iTunes media, not the iTunes library (which is really kinda nebulous).
iTunes library = iTunes folder and all the media, wherever it is located.
The /Music/iTunes/ folder contains the iTunes library.itl file, which keeps track of everything in iTunes.
I do however still have the original MAIN startup drive still in the computer, it's just not the startup.
This is good you still have it.
Try this...
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the /iTunes/ folder on the original drive. It should be in /Users/your_user_name/Music/.
Don't mess with anything. We can get it cleared up.
Does everything work okay?
