Artefacts present in full screen mode

Hi guys,
I'm noticing that when I am in full screen mode (not the bi-directional arrow, present in some applications) that I sometimes see the bottom of my desktop background as an artefact in the application.
Has anyone else had this issue and do you know to fix it.
The laptop i'm using is the Mid 2012 Retina model.
Thanks

I am trying to run a Flash Presentation in Full Screen Mode and the mouse click or space bar will not advance the presentation.  However, when I exit full screen mode the presentation has actually advanced with the number of mouse clicks attempted in full screen mode.  It is like the full screen slide becomes "frozen".  Can anyone out there help me figure this out?

  • How to exit full screen mode while playing a presentation in Keynote '09

Hi, my question is: when I play a presentation it starts by default in full screen mode; I would like instead to see it in a little box, in order to be able to take notes on another file; how can I do that?

When playing Keynote will indeed take over the full screen -- there is no option for playing a presentation in a window. However, in the Preferences, under Slideshow, there is an option to enable Expose, which will allow you to switch between a running Keynote presentation and other applications.

  • Stopping the full screen mode auto-advancing

(This was originally posted a week or so ago in what turned out to be the wrong forum.  I can't move the thread, so I'm reposting it here.)
I've been googling and searching  for this for some time; the only other post I've found[*] with the same  problem never got an answer.  So here goes.
We're using Acrobat reader  9.3.0 on XP.  I'm not very familiar with the software used to create the PDFs; trying to ask the authors what they used got a semi-garbled  reply including the words "presentation adobe photoshop cs2", if that  helps any.  (Their English is only so-so, and there's at least one layer  of overworked translators between us, so there's a good deal of mind  reading going on.)
Pulling up any of the PDFs in Full Screen Mode starts a  sort of slideshow, advancing every few seconds.  This is hellishly  annoying when trying to read more than a few words or follow more than  an inch or two of a line diagram.  I tried bringing up Preferences,  selecting the Full Screen tab, and unchecking "Advance every ___  seconds", but this had no effect.  Exiting the reader and starting it  back up after making the change also had no effect (and I double-checked  that the box is still unchecked).  I was going to try checking the option and then typing a 0 in the space, but it gave an error that  the number had to be 1-60.
Setting it to 60 delays the slide show for a  minute, for whichever page I happen to be viewing at the time of  bringing up the Preferences window, but after autoadvancing to the next  page, it reverts to advancing every few seconds.
The  "left-click forwards, right-click back" option was checked, and that  does work, but having to continually hop back a page and find my place  in a diagram again is tediously unproductive.  Hitting the space bar  just advances the page immediately, trying other space bar combinations  had no effect.
What  option(s) do I need to twiddle to turn off the autoadvance altogether?

This is the Acrobat and not Reader forum.
Ah, my mistake.  The reader is the only piece of this software family I've used, for some reason everyone in the office calls it Acrobat.  I'll see if I can move the thread to the correct forum, or if not, I'll post a question there.  Thank you!
Have you looked at the Preferences for your copy of Reader?
Use the menu bar "Edit => Preferences => Category: Full Screen" and look at the options. You should be able to set the time limit or turn it off.
As I wrote in my post, none of that worked.

  • PDF display accurate page size in Full Screen Mode

Mac G5 Tower Panther OS. When making a PDF presentation to a client (an A4 brochure for example) I would like to use the Full Screen mode using my remote to change pages and make a smooth impression. The problem is on my Apple 20' Cinema display the A4 design fills the screen when I want to show it at 100% size only (210 x 297mm). I can do this easily in Acrobat normal mode but can find no way to make this so with Full Screen mode. The screen resolution is 1680x1050 and I am reluctant to even temporarily change it because it knocks other stuff off kilter.

I can't find how to do this anymore either.
    It was a GREAT feature.
And now suddenly, it appears to be removed!  What the heck Apple !!!!

  • Impossible to view videos in full screen mode

I realise an animation in Flash thinking it will allow to produce a more powerfull presentation than Powerpoint. It includes some videos of about 1' in .fl4 format that are in a separate file. I published this animation in .swf; and in standalone projectors for Mac and PC .exe and .app. It works well in normal mode, videos are running perfectly. But in Full screen it blocks when it get to a frame with a video, showing a black screen and freezing the animation. It does exactly the same with checking, unchecking "material acceleration" both in the Flash player when running the .exe or .swf or .app file or in the exportation (publication) parameters of the .fla file. I also try to play the .swf file in Chrome or Firefow instead of Flash Player : same problem. It does also the same on the several machines (Windows and Mac) of a museum that is supposed to run the presentation. I used Plash Player 10, then 11 and 12 version : same problem.
Result : in normal mode the presentation is dirty and it is really ruining more than three weeks of hard work.
I get through hundreds of Google searches without finding any solution.
Thank for your help. Before tomorrow if possible...

Think of Full Screen Mode like a browser that let's you watch a movie. If you stop before it ends, it remembers your place and lets you take up where you left off the next time you come back.
Move your cursor down toward the bottom middle of the full screen view. You will see a cover flow view, and you can select the project you want to view.

  • How to Open File in Full-Screen Mode

How do I set a Quicktime file to open in full-screen mode?
      Windows XP

New to QuickTime 7 Pro is the ability to apply "Presentation" to a file. You'll see the tab in the Movie Properties window.
One option is to "Enter fullscreen mode when opened". Use Save As to create a new file (leaving your original untouched).
The "Presentation" properties travel with the file and you can use the feature even in Web based media (if you use special html tags).

One of my pages that uses tags to call the QuickTime Player (even the free version found on most computers). These new files are now "Presented".

  • X800-XT Mac Edition and Photoshop CS2 in Full Screen Mode

I recently installed a new ATI X800XT AGP Retail card into my Dual 2-Gig G5 Mac. I have (2) Sony CRTs connected to this card - a 21" Artisan and a 24" GDM-FW900. So far I have only found one problem and this involves Full-Screen Mode in Photoshop CS2 under a certain condition.
All of the following conditions must be met to reproduce this anomoly, but it is at least consistent and happens 100% of the time. Here are the conditions:
    (1) Open any image in Photoshop CS2
    (2) Zoom in on the image until the image area exceeds the boindaries of the screen.
    (3) Go into Full-Screen Mode (without Menu Bar showing) but hitting the "F" key twice.
    (4) Hit the Tab key to hide toolbars (the image should now fill the screen and extend off all four borders.
    (5) Now - holding down the spacebar to get the hand tool - pan the umage around the screen with the grabber hand. You will notice that the image will not refresh properly.
    (6) One other condition must be met - you must perform this while on the main monitor which normally has the OSX Menu Bar present. Note: changing the menu bar to the other monitor causes this problem to migrate to that monitor only.
    Can anyone else reproduce this?
    G5-Dual-2Gig   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   4.5 Gig Ram

Post this over at the Adobe forums to see if it's just a CS2 problem.
Also you might want to file a bug report with them.

  • "Full Screen Mode" in Adobe Reader XI for Windows 8 loads way too slow!

I recently got a new laptop with Windows 8, after having used Windows Vista for years.  I installed Adobe Reader XI for my new computer.  Before, I used Adobe Reader X on Vista.  I used Adobe Reader "Full Screen Mode" to read the nice-looking Bible chapters I created with internet audio from Biblegateway.com.  In Vista, the "Full Screen Mode" appeared quickly, before the audio fully started, so I could see the text in time for the reading.
However, with Windows 8, "Full Screen Mode" takes around 5-10 seconds to appear at all, and a black screen is present throughout the wait.  It does the same thing when I hit "escape" to exit "Full Screen Mode" as well.  I even uninstalled Adobe Reader XI from my new laptop, and tried using Adobe Reader X, even though it is not recommened by Adobe to do that on Windows 8, in order to test the speed of "Full Screen Mode" there.  Adobe Reader X had the same problem!  I do not know if this can be fixed, but I am pretty unhappy about it!  I enjoyed the "Full Screen Mode" with my PDF chapters and the online bible audio!  Finding that function for the first time with Adobe Reader X was a delight for me!  It gave the reading a theater feel!
Has anyone else here had a similiar problem with "Full Screen Mode" loading way too slow on Windows 8?  I am very disappointed!  If this cannot be fixed by a user, is there a place to complain to Adobe and make a recommendation for software improvement?  Thank you!

  • Duel Monitor issue with video in full screen mode

Hi, im not sure if this is the right forum but here is my question
I have an external monitor connected to my MacBook Pro 13" model...i want to be able to have a video in full screen on my external monitor but still use my laptop to do work and browse the web
However, ever time i put it in full screen mode it blackens my laptop screen
how do i stop this from happening

I've tried moving the menu bar to the monitor...didnt work
ive tried playing the video on my mac but it just blackens the monitor
What do you mean by the adaptor - i have what ever software etc that came with the mac...and then from apple i bought the mini display port to VGA adaptor...the monitor is a new LG W2261 Full HD...currently i am connect via the blue VGA cable
it works if im playing games full screen...i just have to move the menu bar in the arrangement option...but it doesnt work for videos
i havent tried another monitor cos i dont have one - but i did try another account and its the same effect
surely it should be simple - what if i was to do a powerpoint presentation connect to a TV or projector, normally you can see your screen for the separate controls which the other displays the presentation

  • Using a tablet PC pen to annotate PDF slides in full screen mode

I'm using Acrobat 8 Standard on a tablet PC with Win XP Professional SP 3 running. I m using Acrobat to run LaTeX presentations, and am looking for a way to use my tablet PC pen to annotate (underline, circle, etc.) slides in full/screen mode, as is possible with MS PowerPoint. I am at a loss here. Any ideas/pointers?

I haven't ever tried it in Acrobat. You may find it easier to use Classroom Presenter with the tablet (a free download). You can import all of the slides as graphics (basically save as TIFF and then import). They you can annotate in the program as you use the presentation. A nice advantage of this program when using a presentation mode with a separate monitor is that the separate monitor can view only the presentation area, but the original still show all of the toolbars.
I would guess that you are really looking for a dual screen mode like that for Acrobat. If you try to do written text with Acrobat, the pencil tool is a bit clumsy and you might not find it that easy to use. I will look for a dual screen mode on my tablet, but would probably start by checking the manual.

  • Export as PDF and viewing in full screen mode

Using LR 4.3, I'm exporting a slideshow to PDF.  Even though I turned off transitions in LR, the transitions automatcally start in Acrobat X in full screen mode.
My goal is to present ths slide show with a mouse click, or arrow key, to move to the next slide in full screen mode. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Yes, because Acrobat has its own transition  settings that take precedence over the settings in Lr.
    In Acrobat go >Edit >Preferences >Full Screen and under <Default Transitions> select <No Transition>.

  • Full screen mode PDF created on Mac not working on PC?

I've created a PDF presentation on a Mac in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional with about 80 pages. I've set it to open in full screen mode when viewed, which works fine on Mac when tested. When opened on a PC however, in my clients corporate environment, it does not work? Has anyone else come across this problem or have any suggestions to remedy it? Could it be something to do with the system it is being opened on blocking full screen mode?

Check this out in Acrobat help type : Full Screen Mode
    look at the following topics:
Defining initial View as Full Screen Mode
    Defining initial View
It appears Fullscreen mode is based on OS Specifications So you need to reopen on a PC version of Acrobat  and set it again.
Looks like they could have both settings in both programs that is a Line that says set full screen mode for Mac PC Unix Linux set for all.

  • Full screen mode problems on Windows XP

I've added a full-screen feature to an application.  Everything works fine for me.  MacOS+Safari.  But I another developer on my team is having problems...
He says, "In my Windows XP environment using Internet Explorer 8.0.6xxx I experience the following:
when change to full screen mode, the application does not resize. The browser clearly switched and takes entire screen by our main panel stays the same size and is displayed in the corner.
when in full screen mode no mouse activity works at all, system is unusable
sometimes I see standard message regarding using <esc> key to wexit full screen and our message regarding some keyboard functions won't work. These messages do not appear all the time."
(The second message he refers to is something I wrote, not a system message).
Apparently, if he clicks escape, the application returns to within the browser window, and everything works as normal again.
Has anyone else experienced this behaviour switching to full-screen?

I just found this great site, America Free TV, for watching streaming movies. It goes to full screen mode, but after 15 minutes, it stops and reverts back to the normal size. This is the link I paste into my Quicktime to open a URL stream:
    http://www.horrorfree.tv/unicast_mov/AFTVHorrorH264250.mov
Based on "site information," would conclude that the URL cited above is an H.264 file streamed as QVGA at 250 Kbps. Don't see why it would ever have been "full screen" unless you set this mode yourself or you were watching two different files and each was presented differently. In that case, I assume switching files would re-set to default dimensions. Only other thing I can think of is a "periodic scripted refresh" and have no idea if/how that would be done.
Anybody know how I can keep it from reverting to the regular screen? I can't seem to find any posts here about this particular quirk.
Believe this action would be automatic, but you can, of course, revert to "Full Screen" on your end. (I.e., Command-F or selecting "Full Screen" in View menu if watching in QT Player.)
Also, anyone know a different URL I can test to see if it is only this site and their channels?
Go to the Home Page or Index Page.
